Least it doesn't have the God awful computer-garbled "PlayStation" voice the American adverts have. They need to drop the 'This is for the players' tagline though as almost nothing Sony have done this year goes with that, maybe try 'This is to take mick'?. As for the advert itself, typical crap video game advert really. Sort of gets the point across but is just typically rubbish. You wouldn't know Sony once had mastery over video game advertising would you? Why can no-one advertise video games any more without it making you think 'meh'?
@Shellybird27 Really enjoyed Advanced Warfare but has to be Bayonetta 2 if you're choosing one or the other. Or B2 and any game. Just ridiculously good fun and the clear standout game of the year.
@Reverandjames Can complete Infamous: Second Son's story in well under ten hours. Gonna burn down Sony's offices for that? I completed Luigi's Mansion (one of my favourite ever games) in four hours on my first play but no point did I have a hissy fit. In what world did you expect a COD game to last hours and hours? In and out, like all war FPS games.
@TOMBOY25 No, there's zombies in one wave and some coming in DLC, but no God awful Treyach-like Zombie Mode. Most boring thing I've ever played in my life. Rather by Bubsy the Bobcat.
Must admit I'm actually enjoying it a lot more than I thought. Single player was all poppycock but enjoyable (a Jason Statham version of warfare, as always), multiplayer is balanced enough to not have your ass handed to you within seconds and survival is like a great mixture of the MW3's mode and an old Sega arcade-type game. It's the first COD since MW3 I've thought is better than dire. And no Zombies mode! Woohoo.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis I get the notification on PS4 and iPhone app fine. Just takes anything between five minutes and half an hour to see the actual message on PS4. Half the time my messages won't send until the fourth attempt - always works on fourth try for some reason. The app is just a mess (as a service and in design, they've managed to make it less cluttered yet utterly more bothersome). Always times out, no matter what I'm doing or where I am. No other app does that.
@Remixora Yeah I've had that problem since day one. Still not able to get anything from my library either, if I try to play Strider (for example) it takes me to the PSN page for the game, says to download it then says it already is, loads the game and says I have to download the game. Been like that about a month before 2.00 was out. I'm basically suck with disc games, Minecraft and Sound Shapes.
@thedevilsjester Story is about three hours, extended to near four because of cutscenes. Finding the collectibles is about an hour. Challenges can be knocked out in two-three hours. Seven hours tops.
Infamous: First Light was far too short but great fun. Injustice bored the pants off of me. Neither are "AAA" so will be interesting to see if people actually want AAA and continue to question Sony or just "retail" on the service. The line-up all but confirms, for me, that DriveClub won't be happening. By February no-one will give the tiniest s**t.
On Fetch, she's hot. Simple as. Then again she looks like my missus so I have to say that.
@SunnyShores @Carl-G Too be honest it doesn't take much effort. I'm three hours in and have found all bar one Intel on the 12 levels I've completed, without any searching. Also got 46% of the trophies already too.
Got the game. Put it in the PS4 it crashed loading the first mission and almost an hour on the PS4 is still "preparing to turn off the PS4..." Cheers Activision.
Haven't had the rest mode problem myself thankfully, even though I always have it in rest mode. Only issues I've had with the latest update is sometimes games refuse to open the first two or three times I start them saying the operation can't be started or no disc is inserted. Always works after a couple of tries though.
@Scollurio As it all comes down to opinion. I, for example cannot understand how anybody could give it anything higher than a C (and that's me being very, very kind) but if they think that then fine. Depends what you want out of a console and how much you're willing to put up with.
There's at least three posts here where you know they've been far too kind though which just comes down to fanboys. The PS4 could have sold six machines, been slated the worst thing ever invented and some would still say it's an A++. Why polls are, in my opinion, stupid. Like Sky Sports doing polls all week on which United or City player is best and United always won as they have more supporters. Even though no-one could say RVP is a better striker than Aguero at the moment the Dutchman still got like 70% of the vote. Just daft.
You know how an 8 Out Of 10 Does Countdown episode starts really slowly and people just sit through the boredom clicking their fingers waiting for Joe Wilkinson to arrive and make everyone wet themselves with laughter? How the second half of the show is a mixture of hysterics when Joe opens his mouth and meh when he's quiet? That's how the PS4 has been for me. Started very badly (nothing interested me) and then it's been a mixture of great and awful. D for me.
@crazykcarter All I ask is to be able to watch Match Of the Day but the bleep we are doing at the moment makes me wanna hang myself if I watch it a second time.
Finishing off Need For Speed Rivals and Project DIVA F 2nd. Might go on Ded Or Alive 5 Ultimate too, pretend every opponent is Brendan Rodgers and shout "Attack with pace! Passpasspass doesn't work from the back! Get Graham (Glen Johnson) out!" til I feel better.
Personally I want to see something from Guerrilla and Naughty Dog that favours gameplay over graphics. Both studios can create wonderful looking visuals but I'm yet to find any of their games more than average. You make games guys, remember, try making one rather than a repetitive "experience."
Oh and if Sony announce they're working with Treasure on something than I'll forgive all the garbage that they have done this year.
@MoleZandor If a game isn't to your liking the cost (£60 or 60p) makes zero difference so let's not bother with that excuse.
Still amuses me that the most complaints are people complaining about the ones saying they're unhappy. Hardly anyone in here had said "no indies!" just they don't like the the games or aren't impressed with the titles. But hey, let's all bend over to Sony eh? Only thing worse than fanboys are brown nosers and PS+ defending doesn't half bring them out.
If Evolution are still with us this time next year I will be flabbergasted. If studios like Studio Liverpool are shut for no reason, bar the "money saving" excuse, then what chance do companies which are making Sony and the PS4 a laughing stock have of surviving? Certainly don't want anyone losing their job in this day and age - especially as I know people who have friends and family working there - but they're screwed. Can see Sony passing on any DriveClub DLC to another studio.
That Sony Europe still haven't said "this is our lot this month" it makes me think they're either hastily arranging something - I read Knack was coming out this month - or they know the storm of hate that awaits them, rightly or wrongly.
@Punished_Boss_84 Wasn't actually meaning to post so apologies. Somehow a cut and paste text got sent to you off my phone, ha.
If you don't like us "lot" complaining then why read them? People pay for a product, they aren't satisfied, they are allowed to complain, whether people like the service themselves or not. Maybe if Sony listened to the general complaints these problems would stop? No, that won't ever happen.
For the record, if you read my first message (obviously not seeing as you dumped me in the "lot") you'd have seen I have zero problems with indies. If a game is good, it's good. Couldn't care if one person makes it or a hundred with a budget of millions. I complain as since the turn of the year there have been just three games I've liked (worth half the PS+ price) and I'm fed up or the lies and miscommunication about the service on Sony's end. But hey, feel free to complain some more about the complaining. The majority of complaining the last few PS+ updates on here have been about people complaining.
@ToOGoodOfAPlaya The problem is there are people like you (wanting more variety) who get lumped in the complaining category and nobody bothers to read into it. Lost count of how many times I've wrote my grievances with PS+ yet it's still "you just complain about indies".
Oh, and to waddle into your antagonising argument with @Tasuki - the gif posted clearly at me,the high horse, I can see how it could have antagonised me so you're bang on. Fortunately I think gifs in an attempt at humour just screams trying too hard so ignore them.
People are allowed to complain about indie games if they want to so let's not let this descend into people on here acting all high and mighty as if every indie game is gold. They're not. There's as many garbage indie games as there are AAA. Remember that before getting on your high horses people as more often than not those are the people who seem more backwards than the indie haters during the PS Plus arguments on here.
Nothing for me. Only game that interests me is Escape Plan and I've had that for years. Was hoping this month, leading up to the Christmas rush, would be a knockout and convince me to stay on Plus with my subscription out next month. Really hope the European version is vastly different as, right now, I won't be renewing. Couldn't care if a game is indie, "AAA," rated good or garbage as I will try anything myself and not care if someone loves it or hates it. But of the, what 40(?) games given away this year only three have been worth it for me. Not worth the money anymore, especially as I don't online game and those three games would've cost less than £20 at retail.
Spiral theme is rather nice but the Paper Sculpture one is my favourite so far. I like that the themes also come with new sound effects too, nice little touch. Just need some on the European store now or we going to do what we did with the Vita, Sony? Give us a basic few palette swaps and then think that's enough.
Oh, if anyone wants themes just create a second account and make it Japanese. Go to the themes section in settings and download them all (only one needs payment) and then switch to your main account and the themes are still there. Takes a few minutes but there you go.
@FullbringIchigo They are just as many frustrating things missing from the PS4 as there are Xbox One problems though. Difference is Microsoft are adapting, changing and fixing. Sony are sat on their lead from the first year, fat with greed, thinking they're untouchable and not caring about their consumers. But it's okay, they'll show off six seconds of Nathan Drake's undercarriage in HD next month and people will wet themselves and forget all the problems for a bit longer. Distraction while not solving problems seems Sony's mantra this year. (rant in general, not at you ha)
@MadchesterManc I was literally just coming on to write near enough every word you just said. It will download games while I'm out if I buy them from my phone/PC but update files? One in maybe ten times if I'm lucky. Nearly a year in and still doesn't do most things it's meant to.
Also, you might be the one to know - probably not actually but no idea who else would know about Miku here - the Project DIVA F 2nd trophies have gone live in English have they not? Says their in Japanese on my Vita (own the Japanese game) but on PS4/phone app they're in English. Heard anything about that?
If updates add features they're welcome as soon as and regularly, like Xbox One. You got the impression PS3 updates were just Sony taking the mickey after a while.
@mitcHELLspawn @Paranoimia Battlefield 4 wasn't hyped in the slightest bit. Was just anti-COD fanboys mouthing off, the same "hype" COD gets by anti-Battlefield fanboys every year. That isn't hype, it's idiots ignoring that their opinion isn't the be all and end all.
Already have both Project Diva F's on both systems from Japan and now playing through English versions. Don't even care how addicted I am. (starts singing "God Tier Tune" on the train).
Will there actually be themes to have is all I care about. Vita's update gave us the option to have themes but no themes to use.
Also, is the library part of anyone's PS4 playing up? Whenever I click on a game in there that I haven't got installed it takes you to it on the store to re-download. Yet when I do it and it goes to the store it just crashes back to the home menu.
@ScreamAimFire99 By you knew it you mean everyone on the planet knew it. They even said it would be out before the biggest games. Doesn't take Einstein to work out they're talking about COD (rightly or wrongly).
@imtom2002 Sony are incapable of making anything or advertising the Vita what makes you think they'd give a toss about other companies doing something on it? More chance of Scarlett Johansson releasing a sex tape exclusively through PSN than GTA on Vita.
@Johnnycide what if you don't have a PS4? Just a Vita or PS3? You're paying for an ever-increasingly worse service. You're right that it's paid online now though as now Sony have you they've no need to entice people on to the service. Double edged sword.
@thedevilsjester Only problem I have with online fighting trophies is that if you don't get the game pronto at release you have such a poor chance of completing them as no bugger is on. I got Tekken Tag Tournament 2 last year and found about six people online. The first DOA5 was the worst though: play in (maybe even win actually) 1000 online games.
@Dodoo And people get too annoyed by simple things sometimes...
@tulaib_100 I'm not much of an online shooter fan but I really, really enjoyed PvZ: Garden Warfare. It's different enough to make it what is most important in a game in such a crowded genre: lots of fun. $20 is about right too, especially as all DLC is free.
@thedevilsjester DOA5U's Trophies weren't too bad. There was beat a certain amount online which sadly is impossible now but that's about it. The only ones I can't do are all moves for a single character. There's just some combos where no matter how many times I press the buttons correctly they don't work so I rage quit.
@get2sammyb On-rails shooter sections just remind me of a childhood spent pouring any silver coins I could find into Space Harrier arcade cabinets. "Get ready!"
Sad Sunset Overdrive isn't gonna come to us. It's the only game I've wanted on either PS4 or Xbox One this year that's not a remake/definitive edition. A mix of Jet Set Radio and Space Harrier? Yes please. Sad face.
@Tasuki A lot of people got PS+ though just for DriveClub and still haven't got it (plus not every single person will view Dust as a worthy compromise). A months refund is the least they can do. Or tell the truth and admit they're just waiting for it to reach its sales target before the free edition comes. Refund it is then.
DriveClub isn't a game that really does much for me but I was intrigued to at least try the PS+ version. Now? Genuinely doubt I'll even download it.
@Dodoo At no point did I find the Vita version unbearable or anywhere near that. A tiny bit annoying at the most. And there was not one single occasion where my inputs weren't detected or a bug with episode-to-episode saves. I've not heard one person have those problems. You either had a dodgy copy or dodgy Vita.
The fifteen recent titles will do til folders arrive. God knows why they aren't included. Still waiting for a friend online alert option too, said it before and say it again, it's pathetic that it isn't featured from day one. Intrigued to see what themes we get or if they'll do what they've done with Vita, say here they are and not give us any.
Latest I've heard from people I know in Runcorn - used to live there and got family/friends still there - Evolution are facing massive lay offs. Dunno if it's because of this (not likely) but seems Sony have lost faith in them. Could be hearsay but heard it from five different people and two of which don't know any of the others.
@Reverandjames Can't see the part in my post where I said they are the two greatest games ever. They're not. But they're better than the ten games listed here, easily. And those three games you listed, to me, are nowhere near the quality of GoldenEye or Ocarina Of Time separately or combined. They're all good game, but those two are exceptional and still highlights of each genre. The only title on there close to the two N64 games is Devil May Cry and even that isn't anywhere near the quality of them two. The majority of those ten are all brilliant and it's a hell of a line up but if you offere me those ten or GoldenEye or Ocarina I wouldn't be picking the PS2 games. No way, Pedro.

Re: Blimey, The Last of Us Is Getting a Game of the Year Edition for PS3
The Last Of Us: Milking It Edition.
Re: Could Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas HD Be on the Way?
@imtom2002 Sony are incapable of making anything or advertising the Vita what makes you think they'd give a toss about other companies doing something on it? More chance of Scarlett Johansson releasing a sex tape exclusively through PSN than GTA on Vita.
Re: The First of November's Free PS4 PlayStation Plus Games Won't Appeal to Everyone
@Johnnycide what if you don't have a PS4? Just a Vita or PS3? You're paying for an ever-increasingly worse service. You're right that it's paid online now though as now Sony have you they've no need to entice people on to the service. Double edged sword.
Re: You'll Be Able to Play Dead or Alive 5 for Free on PS4
@thedevilsjester Only problem I have with online fighting trophies is that if you don't get the game pronto at release you have such a poor chance of completing them as no bugger is on. I got Tekken Tag Tournament 2 last year and found about six people online. The first DOA5 was the worst though: play in (maybe even win actually) 1000 online games.
Re: Oh Sony, Did You Really Have to Use Sunset Overdrive's Font for Your Sale?
@Dodoo And people get too annoyed by simple things sometimes...
@tulaib_100 I'm not much of an online shooter fan but I really, really enjoyed PvZ: Garden Warfare. It's different enough to make it what is most important in a game in such a crowded genre: lots of fun. $20 is about right too, especially as all DLC is free.
Re: You'll Be Able to Play Dead or Alive 5 for Free on PS4
@thedevilsjester DOA5U's Trophies weren't too bad. There was beat a certain amount online which sadly is impossible now but that's about it. The only ones I can't do are all moves for a single character. There's just some combos where no matter how many times I press the buttons correctly they don't work so I rage quit.
Re: Oh Sony, Did You Really Have to Use Sunset Overdrive's Font for Your Sale?
@rjejr @get2sammyb The ten minute freeview's start at midnight don't they? Haha.
Re: Oh Sony, Did You Really Have to Use Sunset Overdrive's Font for Your Sale?
@get2sammyb On-rails shooter sections just remind me of a childhood spent pouring any silver coins I could find into Space Harrier arcade cabinets. "Get ready!"
Re: Oh Sony, Did You Really Have to Use Sunset Overdrive's Font for Your Sale?
Sad Sunset Overdrive isn't gonna come to us. It's the only game I've wanted on either PS4 or Xbox One this year that's not a remake/definitive edition. A mix of Jet Set Radio and Space Harrier? Yes please. Sad face.
Re: DriveClub: PS Plus Edition Release Date to Be Revealed When Dev Has 'Concrete' Information
Re: Review: The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series - The Complete First Season (PlayStation 4)
Re: Feature: What's New in PS4 Firmware Update 2.00?
The fifteen recent titles will do til folders arrive. God knows why they aren't included. Still waiting for a friend online alert option too, said it before and say it again, it's pathetic that it isn't featured from day one. Intrigued to see what themes we get or if they'll do what they've done with Vita, say here they are and not give us any.
Re: When Will DriveClub: PS Plus Edition Release on PS4?
Latest I've heard from people I know in Runcorn - used to live there and got family/friends still there - Evolution are facing massive lay offs. Dunno if it's because of this (not likely) but seems Sony have lost faith in them. Could be hearsay but heard it from five different people and two of which don't know any of the others.
Re: Soapbox: Why Are We Arguing Over Holiday Exclusives When PS2's First Year Offering Will Forever Rule the Roost?
Re: Soapbox: Why Are We Arguing Over Holiday Exclusives When PS2's First Year Offering Will Forever Rule the Roost?
Christmas 97 had GoldenEye on N64 while 98 had Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. Each of those games is as good as all those PS2 ones combined.
