@riceNpea It's a remaster of a ps1 game. I wouldn't have sky-high expectations graphically anyway. It's more of a nostalgia trip and updated controls than anything (Which I literally can't wait for)
Astro was the only game that felt original. My problem with Concord et al is they've made beautiful worlds with stunning cutscenes and lore...and then just made overwatch. like, it's so disappointing.
Heck. I liked it. It felt like a generic open-world game... Which is fun and not a bad thing. People crave open world titles and this is a pretty fine one. It's not trying to beat GTA and very much does it's own thing. Honestly, surprised how much I liked it and is far and away my favourite SR in the series to date. Not claiming it is original, that the storytelling is amazing or even that it looks great. It's just a fun time and most players will always care more about no frills fun than whatever metric 'true gamers' gauge something by.
TemTem is very good. It is better co-op honestly because it can be pretty grindy but the core experience is a really good one. this update can only make it better
Yeah... no. Xbox was by the far the more interesting presentation. Some ff16 stuff was nice but the majority was VR focused, which is hard to get excited about without a release date or a Xbox showed gameplay and the amount coming to game pass in the next 12 months just made it more engaging.
Just finished the game a couple of days ago. Got it for £25 on ebay and it was really, really good. Might hold onto it for now seeing this. (By the by, the story is actually pretty great by the end)
Been a decent wait for a wsbk game. Nice to see the slightly smaller series getting a shot at things with a good developer. Let's hope the future Indy Car, Nascar and Touring Car Games fully materialise and we get all the motorsport we can handle.
A little surprised that Ratchet Tools of Destruction isn't on the ps3 list but the other big games are? As it will be a growing library, I am cautiously optimistic but still on the fence whether to upgrade to the big-get-it-all package.
The first Tales game I 'got'. Loved the characters, combat was engaging, game looked beautiful and the game never became dull. It is very anime but I liked it even more than FF7R, which is saying something. Stunning game and hoping the sales continue to grow.
Shame. I've sold the game already. A great driving game but it really doesn't hold water as a racing game. There is only so much joy one can get cruising past the AI over and over again; even in new and interesting cars.
no mention of formula 2 or formula 3. hope the new features aren't at the expense of old features. Cautiously optimistic but, if the worst happens, at least F1 Manager is looking incredible.
Tales of Arise is an incredible game. Favourite game of the last 5 years for me. Scarlet Nexus is good but I played it after Arise and it left me wanting it to be something it wasn't. Not much I can dislike about this news
I would call it a good/great driving game but a bad racing game. AI problems from previous games persist. Penalties don't exist in the story content and are all over the place online. The base license test, circuit experience and mission mode missions are excellent. As is the roster of cars and the way the cars look. Even the new weather feature is pretty great. But the game hasn't really fixed any of the problems the old Gran Turismo games had and added more with aggressive microtransactions, the always online aspect and the crashes that have caused me to lose a decent amount of license test progress (Losing gold trophies on the v.hard super license tests will never not burn). I'd still give it a 6 but it just could have been so much more. I had to reinstall F1 2021 because this just wasn't what I wanted it to be.
didnt realise the game was unplayable offline. pretty rubbish if I'm honest. the longer i play the game, the more i find things to dislike. it has such a good base but microtransactions, crashes costing content, inconsistent online penalties, stupid AI drivers and the online only limits is really a massive slight on a fun driving game.
I'm in a weird spot where I am happy with all 3 because I own none of them but I get that in terms of 'big titles', this month probably disappoints a fair few.
@Futureshark I think Returnal is great but, in terms of numbers of players and worldwide reach, it isn't mainstream enough to win Geoff's The Last of Us Awards.
I mean. Gameplay looks fun. Art design looks great to me. Looks good in terms of fidelity. But... that framerate looks horrific. If they can balance that out, I'll be hyped, because it looks like a Xenoblade like. And that's a good reason to play your first Star Ocean game.
@OneManDroid The problem isn't that it's a rougelite. The problem was the length of runs and the games' difficulty making the game exhausting to play and highly inaccessible to less skilled players (like me). Nice update but at this point, those who wanted to play the game, probably already have.
As soon as games went 3D, my parents simply couldn't understand how the games worked. I think that even if some people like games to be journeys of discovery where everything is a challenge, some people just play for a good time and the controls shouldn't be a challenge, in my view, for people to get in.
I mean, the game is okay but this content should have been in the game from the start. Game is still fairly buggy and I have problems with the AI. Nice that they are still doing the updates, mind.
My biggest confusion is why an 'enhanced' port of a ps3 game is being delayed. I wasn't expecting a ground up remake but I was expecting the enhancements to be out. Weird
Destruction All Stars was fun... when I could get a game. Also not enough content to really justify picking it up constantly. A shame because it had great potential and really good character designs.
Got to say, a great game. I played it on Switch and it ran well but I'm sure it will benefit from the terraflops of the PS5. Love to get it again but still hunting for the PS5...
It must be hard to review games like this. Because a good remake of a bad game can still be a bad game but does that make it a bad remake? Is it a good thing that the game is loyal to the original or not? I mean, I'm sure that there are people overjoyed about this but I just hope it sells well enough to provide a new game in the series
Interesting take. When I played it last year I thought it was one of the worst olympic games I have ever played but I suppose I was looking for something a little different than the very cartoony game we got. A decent party game but not much more than that for me. Others may get much more mileage I suppose
