It did show much, but I really enjoyed it. That has probably gotten me the most excited out of everything I've seen of FFXV(other than the gameplay). Looks like it'll actually have a deep story, unlike another game in the franchise.
@Pipr Yeah, the $15 price would be perfect. As much as I loved The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, I couldn't help but feeling a bit ripped off after paying $20 for it. And that's exactly what I want to avoid with EGR. I found Ether One to be quite interesting as well, but I just never ended up playing it again after my first session. I suppose my atrocious backlog is partially to blame for that though. ;3
@Pipr According to the PS Blog it will be it'll be $20 regularly, but PS+ members will be able to pre order it for $15 during the first two weeks of release here in America. But in Europe you guys will be able to get it with the PS+ price for the first two weeks after release. I'm not sure what those price points work out to after conversion though. :/
@adf86 As far as the Chinese Room is concerned, I really wasn't a fan of A Machine for Pigs. I really enjoyed the story, but the horror element was pitiful in comparison to The Dark Decent. Though seeing as this game isn't horror, I feel a bit better about it. The Chinese Room is a talented studio IMO, the just don't do horror very well.
I'm really only concerned for a release date at this point. The game is already on my radar, as I'm a huge space nut. One of the things that most disappointed me with the first Mass Effect was how half baked the planetary exploration was, and this game promises to do it right. I'm still extremely skeptical about the game though, it takes super computers to build realistic models of our universe and the PS4 is most certainly not anywhere near that category. I would absolutely love it if this game delivered on all its promises, but I doubt it will. Depending on the price point, I'll probably pick this up within the first week of release to see for myself how it delivers.
Hopefully a release date and price point is coming soon. :3
I'm not too bothered honestly, the single player campaign is by far my favorite part of the MGS games anyway. Though, if the multiplayer is similar to Peace Walker's, I'm quite excited for it.
Couldn't be more disappointed. Limbo is a fantastic game for those who have yet to play it, but I've already beaten it twice. I'll still download these and maybe even end up loving them. But as of now I'm pretty disappointed.
Nope. Though if it turns out good, which I don't doubt it will, and its priced right then I might be tempted to pick it up. Although I'll probably have forgotten about it by then.
That's actually really cool! Though I don't plan on getting this game, my backlog is terrifying and this just isn't my alley. But if I was, this would definitely be icing on the cake.
Its a great game, and I loved the story. Voice acting, soundtrack, and visuals are all superb as well. I was just a bit disappointed at the length of it. I finished it after about 5 hours.
Too bad I already own most of this stuff already. I was just thinking that I'm kinda in the mood to play an FPS on my PS4, but the only one I currently own is Killzone: SF and Wolfenstein. I guess the Borderlands one is tempting, but I own the Vita version of the first one, and I don't really feel like dropping $30 right now. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait.
So it's kind of like and episodic version of early access? Ehh, I'll wait and just pick up the physical edition. As long as they drop content regularly and its high quality then I don't have a problem with it. But like Kickstarter, I don't spend my money on promises.
Lol $200? Nah, I'm fine. The Heavensward CE came with about the same stuff as this: dragon statue, soundtrack, art book, the larger display box, and some in game stuff. But that was $130, and in comparison this just feels like a rip off. I've never played Mirrors Edge though, so I suppose it doesn't matter either way.
Destiny may suck, but that design doesn't. If that gold emblem wasn't there it would really be a beautiful console. It's still gorgeous regardless though.
@Boerewors I'd imagine many people, including myself, were beyond let down with Destiny's story. I mean, Halo has one of my favorite stories in gaming and the fact that we could have had something like that kills me inside. It's obvious that the game was gutted and thrown out with minimal content and most of the DLC has been on disk from the start. I don't think we'll ever know what it was supposed to be, but the game we got is, other than mechanics, awful. Most of Destiny's player base is gone with only the most hardcore remining. If half of the things were put into the story that were put into grimiore cards, the game would be much more bearable. I would like to know why I'm killing the same enemies, in the same areas and why I should care at all. If I had a reason, slugging through content I've already played several times would be much more bearable. Destiny is about as bare bones as it gets in many areas and doesn't really excel in any. Of course that's just my opinion and yours is just as valid as mine, I suppose I'm still just bummed about what a disappointment Destiny ended up being.
This is a great CE. I always say Japanese companies are the only one, besides a select few Western ones, who still do CEs right. I'll definitely be picking this up if it is available in NA, but if not I'm hoping we'll get something just as good. And of course I'll be picking this up for the PS4.
Hmm hmm, Neptunia for $6 is awesome, and Tales of Hearts R sounds just as good. I might just get both honestly. But my god, I've never been more upset that my Vita memory card is full. I need to import a 64GB card asap.
I'm still having an issue that's been plaguing me ever since I picked up my PS4 several months after it launched. If I leave my system in standby mode or have been playing a game for and hour(give or take) and up, I become unable to log into the Playstation store and must restart the system. I've seen plenty of people reporting the same issue and it's mind blowing that Sony still hasn't gotten around to fixing it.
Ahh this is awesome. Bungie has been off the rocker lately, what with locking The Taken King into a $80 limited edition and not selling it separately. I'm ashamed I bought the first two DLC packs for that game. I mean, how sleazy can you get Bungie?
Until there's a solid release date for NA I'm really not interested in these stories. That's my fault I know, but come on Atlus, step it up. It's good to know that the NA and JP versions are coming out simultaneously though.
@Pipr You can't really compare Fallout 3 and GTA, as they are nothing alike besides the fact that they are both open world games. But I'm sure you'd be able to pick up a GOTY version of 3 for like $20 these days. It will probably look relatively muddy and the gameplay might feel a bit clunky, but it's a fantastic game and if you haven't played it then I really couldn't recommend it more.
I agree @ryanorly it really does sound like the Oculus team is just showing Sont what's up. I'm really glad that they're doing that though, both these companies have to come out guns blazing when their headsets launch to really give VR. A fighting chance of mainstream adoption. I'm already quite excited to see what they bring to next years show.
Geeze, the Tony Hawk games used to be some of my favorites. It really makes me feel bad listening to Tony speak so passionately about it. It's clear that he is really passionate about the series. But after the evolution of skating games brought about by the Skate games I can't see this doing well. Hopefully they improve it and bring back the Pro Skater goodness.
@whywai88 This, you can't put an attractive woman in a video game these days without polygon and kotaku calling you sexist. I can't wait for this puritanical moral panic to be over.
@ferrers405 @Cowboysfan-22 I'm not sure why you guys expected P5 to be there. While the Shin Megami Tensei, and by extension, Persona, is a fantastic series, it really doesn't sell that much in the west. With Persona 4 Golden having lifetime sales of about .47 million units, and that's combining EU and NA figures(.30m in NA and .17m in EU). E3 is an attempt to sell consoles to a western audience, so it will be predominantly western games, unless they're massive successes like Final Fantasy. Besides, it's not like they aren't going to be showing it at TGS. ;^)
@Riririn I couldn't agree with you more. Instead of fighting for the rights of women in countries like North Korea and Afghanistan, they insist on whining about fictional characters in video games and micro aggressions. I can't fathom how they aren't embarrassed by this attitude.
Thank god, I've been impatiently waiting for a release date for this game. Dark Descent was fantastic and hopefully this will be just as good if not better. Phantom Pain and SOMA, September will be a great month.
@Munkyknuts aww, I love the chalice dungeons! Nothing better than the grind.
This is great news though, Bloodborne is a great game with a beautiful setting and atmosphere, fantastic audio, and the gameplay is to die for. I'm looking forward to what this ends up being.
It's a fantastic game so far. While the visuals are beautiful, the atmosphere and lore of the world is what I really love about it. Great game and I can't wait until I get out of class so I can go spend more time on it.
That's good news, P5 can't come soon enough. Will be buying launch day and a collector's edition of one is offered. Until then I suppose I could play through 3&4 again.
@JaxonH @JesWood13 You two speak the truth, though forgot Disgaea 5 ;3. The flood gates will be opening soon and we'll all be drowning in Nippon goodness.
Knowing that the higher levels won't have matchmaking is quite frustrating. I understand why Bungie does it, but the fact is not everyone has the time or people on there friends list to get everyone together for raids and now this. Though it is only 3 people so that's a bit better. But still, the people in my friends list live all over the world and getting everyone on at the same time to run something is quite difficult. Oh well, I'll be jumping to at least experience what the latest DLC has to off. And afterwards I'll be going right back to play FFXIV. An expansion is about to drop for that and I couldn't be more excited.
