Re: Everybody's Gone to the Rapture in New PS4 Trailer

thatguyEZ

@Pipr Yeah, the $15 price would be perfect. As much as I loved The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, I couldn't help but feeling a bit ripped off after paying $20 for it. And that's exactly what I want to avoid with EGR. I found Ether One to be quite interesting as well, but I just never ended up playing it again after my first session. I suppose my atrocious backlog is partially to blame for that though. ;3

Re: Everybody's Gone to the Rapture in New PS4 Trailer

thatguyEZ

@Pipr According to the PS Blog it will be it'll be $20 regularly, but PS+ members will be able to pre order it for $15 during the first two weeks of release here in America. But in Europe you guys will be able to get it with the PS+ price for the first two weeks after release. I'm not sure what those price points work out to after conversion though. :/

@adf86 As far as the Chinese Room is concerned, I really wasn't a fan of A Machine for Pigs. I really enjoyed the story, but the horror element was pitiful in comparison to The Dark Decent. Though seeing as this game isn't horror, I feel a bit better about it. The Chinese Room is a talented studio IMO, the just don't do horror very well.

Re: Here's Everything You Need to Know About No Man's Sky Barring a Release Date

thatguyEZ

I'm really only concerned for a release date at this point. The game is already on my radar, as I'm a huge space nut. One of the things that most disappointed me with the first Mass Effect was how half baked the planetary exploration was, and this game promises to do it right. I'm still extremely skeptical about the game though, it takes super computers to build realistic models of our universe and the PS4 is most certainly not anywhere near that category. I would absolutely love it if this game delivered on all its promises, but I doubt it will. Depending on the price point, I'll probably pick this up within the first week of release to see for myself how it delivers.

Hopefully a release date and price point is coming soon. :3

Re: PS4 Sci-Fi Games Heavily Discounted in NA Flash Sale

thatguyEZ

Too bad I already own most of this stuff already. I was just thinking that I'm kinda in the mood to play an FPS on my PS4, but the only one I currently own is Killzone: SF and Wolfenstein. I guess the Borderlands one is tempting, but I own the Vita version of the first one, and I don't really feel like dropping $30 right now. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait.

Re: Destiny's Writing Is 'Boring as S***' According to Arrested Development Actor David Cross

thatguyEZ

@Boerewors I'd imagine many people, including myself, were beyond let down with Destiny's story. I mean, Halo has one of my favorite stories in gaming and the fact that we could have had something like that kills me inside. It's obvious that the game was gutted and thrown out with minimal content and most of the DLC has been on disk from the start. I don't think we'll ever know what it was supposed to be, but the game we got is, other than mechanics, awful. Most of Destiny's player base is gone with only the most hardcore remining. If half of the things were put into the story that were put into grimiore cards, the game would be much more bearable. I would like to know why I'm killing the same enemies, in the same areas and why I should care at all. If I had a reason, slugging through content I've already played several times would be much more bearable. Destiny is about as bare bones as it gets in many areas and doesn't really excel in any. Of course that's just my opinion and yours is just as valid as mine, I suppose I'm still just bummed about what a disappointment Destiny ended up being.

Re: Tales of Zestiria's Collector's Edition Is Pretty Packed

thatguyEZ

This is a great CE. I always say Japanese companies are the only one, besides a select few Western ones, who still do CEs right. I'll definitely be picking this up if it is available in NA, but if not I'm hoping we'll get something just as good. And of course I'll be picking this up for the PS4.

Re: PS4 Players Are Demanding a Better PSN

thatguyEZ

I'm still having an issue that's been plaguing me ever since I picked up my PS4 several months after it launched. If I leave my system in standby mode or have been playing a game for and hour(give or take) and up, I become unable to log into the Playstation store and must restart the system. I've seen plenty of people reporting the same issue and it's mind blowing that Sony still hasn't gotten around to fixing it.

Re: E3 2015: Bethesda Says Graphics Were Sacrificed for Gameplay in Fallout 4

thatguyEZ

@Pipr You can't really compare Fallout 3 and GTA, as they are nothing alike besides the fact that they are both open world games. But I'm sure you'd be able to pick up a GOTY version of 3 for like $20 these days. It will probably look relatively muddy and the gameplay might feel a bit clunky, but it's a fantastic game and if you haven't played it then I really couldn't recommend it more.

Re: E3 2015: Sony's Been Exchanging Ideas with Oculus, Says Yoshida

thatguyEZ

I agree @ryanorly it really does sound like the Oculus team is just showing Sont what's up. I'm really glad that they're doing that though, both these companies have to come out guns blazing when their headsets launch to really give VR. A fighting chance of mainstream adoption. I'm already quite excited to see what they bring to next years show.

Re: E3 2015: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 Looks Crap

thatguyEZ

Geeze, the Tony Hawk games used to be some of my favorites. It really makes me feel bad listening to Tony speak so passionately about it. It's clear that he is really passionate about the series. But after the evolution of skating games brought about by the Skate games I can't see this doing well. Hopefully they improve it and bring back the Pro Skater goodness.

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony's Big E3 2015 Press Conference Deliver?

thatguyEZ

@ferrers405 @Cowboysfan-22 I'm not sure why you guys expected P5 to be there. While the Shin Megami Tensei, and by extension, Persona, is a fantastic series, it really doesn't sell that much in the west. With Persona 4 Golden having lifetime sales of about .47 million units, and that's combining EU and NA figures(.30m in NA and .17m in EU). E3 is an attempt to sell consoles to a western audience, so it will be predominantly western games, unless they're massive successes like Final Fantasy. Besides, it's not like they aren't going to be showing it at TGS. ;^)

Re: Reaction: Destiny's Prison of Elders Is a Step in the Right Direction

thatguyEZ

Knowing that the higher levels won't have matchmaking is quite frustrating. I understand why Bungie does it, but the fact is not everyone has the time or people on there friends list to get everyone together for raids and now this. Though it is only 3 people so that's a bit better. But still, the people in my friends list live all over the world and getting everyone on at the same time to run something is quite difficult. Oh well, I'll be jumping to at least experience what the latest DLC has to off. And afterwards I'll be going right back to play FFXIV. An expansion is about to drop for that and I couldn't be more excited.

Re: Rumour: Watch Dogs 2 Goes Walkies on Ubisoft Employee's CV

thatguyEZ

The first one was okay, but by the time I beat it I was thankful that it was over. The story and Aiden were awful. I hope this one is a lot better because the concept does have a lot of potential. I will most certainly be waiting on reviews though and if I do pick it up it will probably be on a sale.

Re: Indie Games Rule in May PlayStation Plus Freebies Roster

thatguyEZ

@ToOGoodOfAPlaya Preach! People love to sit in their high horse and act like they know better than you. The best one I've seen is people who aren't happy with the lineup must be children whose parents buy them everything.

@JohnKarnes So because you are satisfied with this lineup anyone who doesn't is automatically a spoiled child? lol give me a break

This month isn't looking very good, it's nice that almost all are cross buy, but I'm a bit tired these busted lineups. I'll still try all these out, but none of these games look like something I'll thoroughly enjoy.

Re: Review: Broken Age (PlayStation 4)

thatguyEZ

@gbanas92 ahh you're right, my bad. I was thinking of something else (I thought there was a game Schafer had done where it took two kickstarters to finish? Though I could be thinking of this game and simply be mistaken). But I have indeed heard that this is a really good game, I suppose the fact that I don't like Schafer and his financial mismanagement issues could be clouding my judgement. But I do feel that $25 is way too much, I mean if I add $5 more I could get two months of game time with FFXIV.

Re: Review: Broken Age (PlayStation 4)

thatguyEZ

Oh wow, 25 bucks? Lol, give me a break.

@sonicmeerkat right? I mean if it was like $10 then that'd be fine. But $25 for a game that took 2 kickstarters just to get finished? No thanks, that reeks money grubbing and I couldn't agree with you more.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Time to Introduce EA Access on PS4?

thatguyEZ

Ehh, don't really care about playing it first. In this day and age, with more and more games being released broken and needing to be patched, I'd actually prefer for the Xbox owners to beta test it for everyone else. Not to mention it's EA and I hardly purchase anything they put out anymore. And as far as EA Access on PS4 goes, I'd prefer to keep it on Xbox as soon as possible. But I'm usually of the mindset that consumer choice is first. I understand why Sony is keeping it off their systems though. It really doesn't matter to me either way, but considering how short sighted and irresponsible many gamers are nowadays, I'm happy that Sony is keeping it off their system.
