Re: Review: Dying Light: The Following (PS4)

@glassmusic I'm sure you can make an exception and just pick it up physically. I'm sure a used copy will cost around $20 and if you go to BestBuy it's $30 for a new copy and if you have a My BestBuy account you get 20% for a total $24. Though I suppose if you don't by physical games you wouldn't have a my bestbuy account.

Re: First Impressions: Hitman PS4 Brings the Franchise Back to Its Golden Years

thatguyEZ

I just wish it was launching as a full game and not episodic. I much prefer to play games like Hitman as I feel like it instead of being forced to wait between episodes. I'm in a bit of a predicament because I want to purchase it and show Square that I'll support these kind of games as long as it's closer to Blood Money, Contacts, and Silent Assassin than Absolution but I'd rather wait and buy the full release as I'm not big on episodic games. Of course I'll still wait until it fully released to pick it up.

I do have one question, do you still have to use instinct when you're in disguise and close to people in the same suit or does it work like Blood Money where you don't?

Re: Review: Megadimension Neptunia VII (PS4)

thatguyEZ

@NepneedsFanserv Couldn't agree more.

I agree with most everything in this review besides the fan service part. This is a series that is built upon fan service, and to expect this one to be any different doesn't make any sense. There's really no reason there shouldn't be fan service in the game. If you don't like this stuff, that's totally fine, there's plenty of JRPGs out there with minimal to no fan service. This series has its niche and it appears people like fan service as the series is still around with fan service. I'm just glad XSeed and marvelous have enough of a backbone to leave it in the western version, unlike Nintendo.

Neptunia isn't my favorite series in the world, as it feels a bit too much like a grind for my tastes, but I have no problems with the fan service.

Re: Battalion 1944 Aims to Bring World War II Shooters Back

thatguyEZ

@sub12 Why? Why does it 'need' a campaign? I mean if the debts wanted to put one in that'd be cool but I'd take an excellent multiplayer only game over a game that splits resources and ships with a subpar campaign and multiplayer. I've never understood the argument that a game needs a campaign. I'd rather all the resources go into making excellent single player or excellent multiplayer, but I wouldn't argue with a game having both as long as they're both fleshed out. Tacked on multi/single player that's costs tons of money isn't a good thing. Siege is a perfect example. The multiplayer is excellent(though net code could use some work) and I fail to see how some tacked on single player would add anything. I think the whole situations system works much better than a campaign as it actually gets you ready for the MP, versus something like Battlefield where the campaign is nothing like online(and much worse TBH). I like single player games and I like multiplayer games, but this thinking that a game needs both is antiquated and needs to go.
Now I could get behind a discussion about the price point of games and whether games with only online or single player should cost less than the standard $60.

In regard to this games, I would very much like to see it made. I'm a nut for WWII history and a new game that takes place in the era would be very much appreciated.

Re: First Impressions: The Division Shows Promise on PS4, But There Are Worries

thatguyEZ

I've really enjoyed the time I've spent with the division thus far. I really liked the loot as well, though I really love military hardware. The only thing that turned me off was at one point a group had formed in the DZ and was running train on everyone else. I was playing solo so I couldn't really get my revenge. But I feel that's how Ubi wanted it to function and of course I'm handicapping myself by running solo. I do feel that the rogue system needs some work though.

Re: Talking Point: What February PlayStation Plus Freebies Do You Want?

thatguyEZ

Yeah FF7 would be good, and I suppose Knack would be nice though I have no interest in it whatsoever. I'd be fine with Slender: The Arrival as well. I'd be really happy if The Deadly Tower of Monsters went up but the chances of that are slim to none.

Regardless, they'd have to actually try if this month is worse than January.

Re: Review: Croixleur Sigma (PS4)

thatguyEZ

I can agree with this for the most part. It's most certainly a fun game, but I definitely have to take breaks in between sessions. I still haven't finished the story mode though and haven't messed with the other modes too much yet.

I was actually thinking the other night that this game would be so much better if it had a combat system like Onechanbara's.

Re: A Portion of The Division's Open World Has Been Cut from the Finished Game

thatguyEZ

@Phillendon I would recommend starting with Rainbow Six 3 Gold on steam(since you can't find Rogue Spear that works on Windows 10), as it's the epitome of what made the original games great. The current games are nothing like the originals (though Siege certainly does a good job). I'm looking forward to The Division, but I know it won't be like the originals so I'm not expecting it. What made Tom Clancy games special was the realism and tactical aspect, and that's why I'd recommend starting with R6 3.

Re: Store Update: 22nd December 2015 (North America)

thatguyEZ

Ehh, nothing for me this week. I was hoping for some good PS2 games being put up because of christmas, but Fantavision is a bit of a disappointment. I'm definitely tempted to pick a couple of games up in the week 3 of the holiday sale though.

Re: Store Update: 8th December 2015 (North America)

thatguyEZ

That's disappointing. I was really hoping they'd throw some more PS2 games up, with Dark Cloud 2 being among them. I'm actually quite puzzled as why they didn't put the second one up at the same time as the first, though I suppose they may have been working on it and just wanted to get the first batch of games up as soon as possible.

Re: Superbeat Xonic's Special Edition Oozes Awesome

thatguyEZ

It certainly does look like a fun game. I just got the IA/VT Colorful Crystal Box in the mail though so I'll be sticking with that and Project Diva for quite a while. I used to love electronic music, and while I still like it, the culture surrounding it totally put me off. I'll definitely check this out if it goes on sale though.

Re: Download Your December PlayStation Plus Games Now

thatguyEZ

@themcnoisy Yeah it's beyond annoying that Sony thought only putting up the first chapter was a good idea. I mean a lot of games, such as RE Revelations 2, will simply give away the first chapter in an attempt to get you hooked. It's really frustrating that PS+ is required for online play, because I would really love to be able to cancel my sub if the continue put out stuff like this.

Re: Hands On: Has Just Cause 3 on PS4 Blown Us Away?

thatguyEZ

Jesus, loading times like that are a deal breaker for me, I'm not paying to spend 2 hours looking at loading screens throughout my play through. Though it seems to be a bug so we'll see. And the challenges seem to be extremely repetitive and bland and locking equipment behind them was a silly decision as far as I'm concerned. It still looks interesting though, I'll be considering picking it up.

@Nifty. The longest loading times I've faced in Fallout 4 are 45-60 seconds, I don't think I've encountered any over that. Though I do have a hybrid HDD so that helps with the times a bit.

Re: Oi Square, Where's Our Final Fantasy XV PS4 Controller?

thatguyEZ

@ricklongo I was thinking the same thing. I think a large portion of PlayStation owners, including myself, buy the systems as they'll be the most likely to get localized Japanese games. I really don't understand who this benefits. Though I wouldn't buy a PS4 version anyway as my 20th anniversary controller is just too beautiful.

Edit: @get2sammyb Ahh, it makes even less sense now. Though that figure really isn't too surprising tbh.

Re: The Rainbow Six: Siege Open Beta Has Breached PS4

thatguyEZ

I'll certainly be giving it a shot tonight or tomorrow. Since this game doesn't have a campaign and R6 campaigns have always been my favorite part of the series (at least with the original and Rogue Spear), this is really going to be the make or break factor for me. I've been looking for a good first person shooter to play lately, so hopefully this will end up being that game.

Re: Poll: How Well Is Fallout 4 Running on Your PS4?

thatguyEZ

@Alpha guhh, I wish I had know that before hand. I would've just hooked up the external hdd I use for my Wii U. Though I suppose it's my fault for not doing more research. Though it's pretty lame that Konami decided to take PT off in the first place.

I agree, I never finished it either. I was acing for a rainy day, but now I'll never finish it. It really was a really scary game, and thinking about that just makes me more disappointed that we'll never see what the final product could've been.

Re: Poll: How Well Is Fallout 4 Running on Your PS4?

thatguyEZ

Besides the awful frame rate drops, I had an instance where I couldn't enter the entire bottom right quarter of the map without the game crashing. Reinstalling the game didn't work so I ended up reinitalizing my PS4(bye bye P.T. >.<). I spent about 10 hours on that character so it was pretty frustrating. Other than some other little bugs it's worked more or less as intended.

Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege

thatguyEZ

@Carlos20 Sony isn't developing nor publishing this game, so they really have no control over what systems this comes out on. Regardless, the 7th gen consoles time is over, this is what happens when new systems come out.

I'm on the fence about this game. I love the older Tom Clancy games like Rainbow Six, RS Rogue Spear, and Ghost Recon. But this won't even have a campaign and is quite obviously not like the older games. I suppose it just depends on what the word is after launch.
