Re: Reaction: PS Plus, PS Now's Makeover a Necessary and Positive Step for Sony

tomassi

It sounds OK. I think if you stick with the Basic plan then you can expect slim pickings with the free games each month. They will reserve the decent ones for the higher tiers to try and get people to sub for more $$. Much like XBOX games with gold.

If the higher tiers want to be considered a success then they are really going to have to up the ante with their offerings. They will need to include PS5 versions of PS4 games wherever appropriate. And there can't be any of this 'available for 3 months' nonsense. The games will need to be on there a lot longer than that.

It's all well and good saying 'hey, we have Returnal, Miles Morales etc' but if they disappear after 3 months then it just leaves the largely mediocre PS Now lineup.

I currently sub to both so it would save me money I guess, but was probably going to let Now lapse in July anyway.

Re: PS Plus Premium's Classic Games Look 'Great' on PS5, PS4, But Sony's Saying Nothing About the Selection

tomassi

Not interested in PS3 games if I can't download them. I never stream them on PS Now as it is, so won't start any time soon. I wasn't a PS1 guy either so not bothered about those games. If I could have some classic PS2 games (would love to play PES again for example) then I may consider it. To be honest though, having tried GTAVC and GTAIII on Now recently, sometimes games are best left to your memory!

Re: PS Plus, PS Now Merged Service Revealed, Goes Live in June

tomassi

Interested to see how often the games are 'refreshed' on the premium services. It's all well and good touting Returnal, Miles Morales, Death Stranding etc but will they be on the service indefinitely, or be removed after three months like games are on the current Now service?

Re: Rumour: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for April 2022 Leaked Early

tomassi

@Titntin It's all good! I agree as well. We all like different things. I always laugh to myself when people kick up a fuss about getting sports games on Plus, as though video gaming and liking sports can't live together in harmony! To be honest, I do think this month sounds pretty bad (the Hood game sounds as generic as some of the other multiplayer games we've received the last year) but everyone will have their own opinion on it. If you are expecting big releases though then, yes, you are entitled!

Re: Rumour: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for April 2022 Leaked Early

tomassi

Wow, that could be about the worst lineup in Plus history! Obviously we HAVE to have an online multiplayer (yawn) but also a CARD game and a Spongebob game. Really? Who at Sony thought this would be a good selection together? Maybe one of each of these over the next three months with different games. But altogether in one month, this is dreadful!

Re: PS Store Mega March Sale Cuts Prices of Many PS5, PS4 Games

tomassi

If you've only just got a PS4, having never owned a console this or last gen, there are some amazing games in this sale for absolutely peanuts!

Assassins Creed Black Flag - £3.19
Metal Gear Solid V - £3.19
Dragon Age Inquisition - £3.74
XCOM 2 - £2.24
Need for Speed Rivals - £3.99
Dirt Rally - £4.49
Onrush - £1.79
The Sims 4 - £4.19
Rise of the Tomb Raider - £4.99
Unravel - £3.74
Overcooked - £3.24

For less than £40 you will end up with a decent set of starter games covering all sorts of different areas that will keep you going for weeks or months. Can't go wrong eh!

Re: Hands On: Is GTA 5 on PS5 Worth It?

tomassi

Tried it, seems good. Really annoying that it won't import my PS4 save from the console though. I now have to re-download the PS4 version of GTA to UPLOAD my save so I can then go back into the PS5 version and download the save! Very annoying.

Re: GTA 5 PS5 Price Is Surprisingly Generous, Dirt Cheap Until 14th June

tomassi

I went for it, for £8.75. I've never actually finished the game on PS4, so happy to upgrade and get the most out of it. I never paid full price for it anyway (was a couple of years late to the PS4 party) so I don't feel too hard done by.

Still can't work out the structure though. Is this £8.75 just for story mode? I have no interest in GTA online so, happy for it to be the case.

Re: PS Plus March 2022 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

tomassi

Nearly fooled me into thinking we were getting the full GoT. Never heard of Legends mode so had no idea! Oh well, that's disappointing. Especially as two of the other games are already on PS Now and the others are GTA Online (no interest) and ARK (intrigued but not excited).

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) - Dark Future RPG Is Finally Ready to Rock

tomassi

I had no interest in this game whatsoever when it came out, and even less when I heard the reviews. I'm not a fan of FPS type games (I prefer 3rd person experiences) but when I saw it was £19.99 and getting better reviews I thought, to hell with it, let's see what it's all about! And I'm actually quite enjoying it I have to say. I wish there was a 3rd person mode, but I'm playing on easy and I'm holding my own so I'm happy enough. Not encountered any game breaking bugs either, although I've only just got to the Keanu bit so there may be some to come.

Re: Fighting Game Jump Force Being Delisted from PS Store Today

tomassi

@Kidfunkadelic83 I played Driveclub on the weekend (I also snapped it up before it left the store a couple of years ago) and it is still a beautiful game to look at isn't it. Considering it's age, it's far nicer looking than most other racers since.

I am absolutely terrible at it though! Is there anyway to turn the difficulty down?!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 412

tomassi

Let me think. I completed Concrete Genie Friday night so thats another one to tick off and delete! I think I'm quite near to completing Figment now as well so I can scrap that soon too.

I also played some GTA VC on Now which was fun. In fact, it made me buy Bully and Red Dead Revolver to relive some other fond memories.

Also found time to play some Dead Cells, Driveclub and FIFA 22. I'm recovering from a burst appendix so have full excuses to not do anything else!

Re: Talking Point: What PS Plus Games for February 2022 Do You Want?

tomassi

Realistically I won't ever play them anyway, but would like something that is not online multiplayer for once! Just a nice story-driven, offline, solitary experience please!

I'll take:

Watch Dogs Legion (PS5)
Dysmantle
Riders Republic
The Last Stand: Aftermath
Death Stranding (not interested personally, but many would be I'm sure)
FIST
Cuphead
Spirit Farer (sic?)

Re: Feature: Push Square Readers' 10 Most Anticipated PS5, PS4 Games of 2022

tomassi

I'll be honest, I just want eFootball to release properly and be good. I'm not interested in the online nonsense, I just want to play offline with all the teams available with a decent edit mode and I'll be happy.

Second on my wishlist would be a remaster of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, as the 1+2 remasters were awesome. Other than that, I'm not that bothered really. I never get new releases until a year or two later when they are sub £20 anyway.

Re: Best PS4 Kids Games

tomassi

My kids also like Moving Out (which is similar to Overcooked but moving furniture etc), Golf with your Friends, Astro's Playroom (on PS5 of course), Human Fall Flat, Bugsnax, King Oddball, Beach Buggy Racing, Castle Crashers, Broforce, Brawlout, Disney Infinity, Goat Simulator, Lego Worlds, Minecraft Dungeons, Nidhogg 2, Nippon Marathon, Plants Vs Zombies, Speed Runners, Runbow, That's You, Frantics, Chimparty, Trials Fusion and Unravel.

These games vary in quality from an adult perspective, but they love playing them. So some suggestions there for anyone who cares to take them!

Re: Rumour: PS Plus January 2022 PS5, PS4 Games Leaked Early

tomassi

Meh. Not into Rally games (although I've not played a PS5 racer yet so I'll give it a try), 100% no interest whatsoever in JPRG turn based whatever Persona is, and no interest in online co-op stuff.

Funny how some think some months are bad and some are good. It's almost like it's down to personal opinion!
