Re: Talking Point: State of Play Predictions - What Do You Expect?

torne

@get2sammyb I saw a rumor on Twitter today that Bloodborne remastered is coming.

https://twitter.com/Nlbellion/status/1531292747012919296?s=20&t=z5dg8gxnxTQDtD2Ui7r2xg

Not sure how reliable the info is, but I seem to remember Nibel popping up a few times with pretty reliable news. Soooo fingers crossed.

If this is announced I'm sure a lot of the Nay-Sayers from the announcement post may change their tunes.

Re: State of Play Showcase for Thursday Confirmed, PSVR2 Games Included

torne

@NEStalgia I mean... holding out hope that Sony is going to deliver another show like the 2015 E3 with Shenmue, FF7R, Last Guardian, all back to back is going to always result in disappointment.

Things are changing, and we have to accept that E3 is dead. The only one holding on to it is Microsoft, and we will have to wait and see what happens there, because even as a series x owner, I have until to be impressed with a Microsoft conference. It's always CGI Trailer with no gameplay, no date, and then we are told to keep waiting year after year.

They may have bought a bunch of studios but hellblade 2 has been in development forever and still doesn't have a date. Fable... enough said...(I want the game but I'll believe it when I see gameplay). And now perfect dark is in development hell.

E3 doesn't work the way it used to anymore. You can't just give a cgi trailer and nothing else. You need to deliver. Which is why you are seeing more companies do smaller shows and starting to not announce games until they are absolutely ready.

There have been 28 delays already this year... do we really want more? Just for the sake of being satiated at all times? Why do we need to know everything RIGHT NOW?

Re: State of Play Showcase for Thursday Confirmed, PSVR2 Games Included

torne

@WadeIsInsane yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuppp...

Nobody is ever happy because Sony didn't show EXACTLY what they expected them to.

SPOILER ALERT: Sony is a business, they are going to do what is best for business. If they want to do a state of play focused on 3rd party fine by me, just means when we get a little later down the road and they want to focus on exclusive first party stuff, it hasn't been spoiled or isn't a repeat of a trailer we've seen 500 times... (looking at you deathloop)

Re: State of Play Showcase for Thursday Confirmed, PSVR2 Games Included

torne

@NEStalgia you are right, announcing both Spiderman 2, and Wolverine, showing God of war, having the first reveal trailer for Alan wake remastered, giving release dates for Gran tourism, trailers for guardians of the galaxy, among other things was definitely not a big showcase... 🙄

I see your sense of entitlement is strong...

Re: State of Play Showcase for Thursday Confirmed, PSVR2 Games Included

torne

@Enuo I'm with you. The comments are SO negative all the time.

You would think that people would be happy we are getting announcements but nope, gotta be mad because it's 3rd party.

We know from the past 2 years Sony will do a first party playstation showcase. They aren't going to mess with that and put first party games in a quick 30 min state of play.

People just need to CALM DOWN

Re: State of Play Showcase for Thursday Confirmed, PSVR2 Games Included

torne

Wow... the event hasn't even happened yet and people are already somehow disappointed... im officially convinced that nothing makes you guys happy...

Just because they aren't showing first party games, doesn't mean God of War is delayed. It's been quite common for them to do single state of plays dedicated to first party games, they will most likely do one for GOW.

ALSO... as others have said, Sony has transitioned from doing their BIG showcases in the summer/E3 time to End of August/September...

It's time a lot of people on this site learn that just because YOU want them to give you everything right now doesn't mean they have to.

Grow up.

Re: Looks Like Sony Will Stop Making PS4 Games by 2025

torne

So once again people are complaining about Sony doing stuff to get more revenue and increase market share...but clearly don't understand how business works.

Here is a quick math lesson for you...

Let's say Sony has 4 console games and 2 PC games planned for release in 2024. Sony then decides it wants to ADD 2 mobile games to the release schedule. That makes a total of 8 games planned for release. Guess what! Those 2 mobile games that they added are 25% of their release schedule.

The article isn't stating that Sony is stopping development of console games. Sony also said during the investor call that they are looking to partner with mobile developers. This is so they are not adding work to their first party studios that takes away from major tentpole releases.

If you don't like mobile don't buy it, but don't act like a company trying to strengthen its market share is a bad thing.

Re: Sony Officially Backtracks on PS Plus Discount Scandal, Says It Was an Error

torne

@get2sammyb maybe the solution is to stop clutching at every scrap of intel you get until you have a full picture.

Listen I LOVE playstation. I have since I got the PsOne all those years ago when it launched.

I agree that the launch hasn't gone smoothly, but that being said, all the negativity about the list of games was unreal. Sony literally said we will add more games soon and users were losing their minds because it wasn't the 700 games promised.

I get that as a news site you have to report on it, so my comment isn't REALLY directed at pushsquare overall and more to the overall community.

At the end of the day these things are not as big of an issue as they are being made out to be. Especially now that this billing issue has been resolved.

Whether it was an accident or it was intentional (I'm 99.99% sure it was not intentional) it doesn't matter anymore because it's been rectified.

Maybe as a community all of us, journalists included, we need to look at things more holistically and say, "hmmm is this really the hill I need to die on?" Or "is this really THAT big of a deal now?"

Just saying I've seen this community turn SO negative lately, every little thing is scrutinized to the enth degree when it doesn't need to be.

Re: Sony Officially Backtracks on PS Plus Discount Scandal, Says It Was an Error

torne

Okay let's try this again...

People turned this into way more than it needed to be. This whole launch people have complained about every single aspect of it.

Not enough games listed right away
Not enough classic games
They promised over 700 games and only announced 250!!!

And now this...

I will say this again for everyone in the back to hear.

No service has ever launched without issues. This is a tech industry. Tech issues happen.

Having worked for an industry that relies heavily on tech I can say with 100% certainty that sometimes the wildest thing you never thought would even be an issue pops up on launch day and causes chaos, or some sort of malfunction.

When that happens you then have to look for the solution... these things take time. It's not a matter of just flipping a switch like some people here seem to believe. It's also certainly not an issue where Sony deliberately did this on purpose to try and sneak more money out of people just to be greedy.

Things happen. It's not the end of the world.

Re: PS Plus Games for Asia Officially Confirmed

torne

@UltimateOtaku91 absolutely. I think there is some legitimate feedback that they will need to act on too.

It's not a perfect service yet but it's shaping up to be a decent competitor to gamepass.

The ps4 remasters being locked behind the highest tier is my biggest issue at the moment, but that could just be down to a listing error and might get sorted out.

Re: PS Plus Games for Asia Officially Confirmed

torne

@UltimateOtaku91 exactly... people just need to calm TF down and wait a bit longer. ESPECIALLY if this list is not even in their region.

I'm certain as more regions are opened up, more games will be added. I'm also certain thst over the coming days the current list will grow.

Like I said above no service has ever launched without issues day one.

Am I hoping we will get some classics like Legend of Dragoon, Tenchu, and Legacy of Kain? ABSOLUTELY. Will it be the end of the world if I don't get those? Nope because I already have too many games to play as is 🤣.

Re: PS Plus Games for Asia Officially Confirmed

torne

@IonMagi first of all don't "Bro" me...

Second of all... you still haven't answered the question... are you in Hong Kong or Asia? If not I'll say it again... sit back down and wait until the full complete list is posted.

Even if you are in Asia they clearly said more titles will be added soon. Netflix didn't just launch with every single thing that was planned to be avaliable in the first month on day 1. Neither did the oh so revered gamepass.

You are whining for the sake of whining and getting called out by numerous people for it.

Get over it and move on.

Re: PS Plus Games for Asia Officially Confirmed

torne

@IonMagi are you in Hong Kong? Are you incapable of understanding what "more games will be added soon" means? Do you know about the various intricacies of licensing titles across various continents and regions?

Sit back down and wait until the service has been fully launched.

It's day one for crying out loud. Name one service that launched flawlessly on day one without a single issue.

Re: PS Plus Games for Asia Officially Confirmed

torne

@IonMagi it's incredible that you are still on this kick...

The article states "not a complete lisr" also this is in Asia where some areas don't have streaming. ALSO they said more will be added soon.

Maybe if I say this once again it will finally stick with you. Wait until the full list for YOUR REGION is posted before getting your panties in a twist.

For the love of God you are one of the most negative people on this site.

If when the final list is posted you still aren't satisfied by all means whine and complain all you want. Til then you are just working yourself up for nothing.

Re: Spider-Man Games Could Have Been Exclusive to Xbox

torne

Microsoft would have been just as bad as activision for Spiderman. I have a series x and a ps5 so this isn't about a console war. Microsoft just doesn't put the required amount of effort into their games to make them bangers like Sony does.

Re: You May Already Own Some of the Retro PS Plus Titles

torne

@Would_you_kindly that doesn't mean that those are all of the games that are coming over. It also doesn't mean that they won't only port those over.

All I am saying is the internet needs to calm down and wait until they have all of the info before freaking out.

Re: You May Already Own Some of the Retro PS Plus Titles

torne

@IonMagi seems like you are really grasping at straws here.

Fact: Sony has said there will be 400 games from the ps4/ps5 catalogue for the extra tier

Fact: Sony had said there will be more than 340 "classic" games from the ps1/2/3/psp

Fact: Sony said they will refresh these every month

Just calm down and wait til they announce the FULL line up before getting your panties in a bunch

Re: You May Already Own Some of the Retro PS Plus Titles

torne

@IonMagi they said there were over 340 legacy titles being added...

The list provided today had what... 50 classics across psp, ps1, ps2, and ps3...

They gave you a taste of what's being added, and will probably announce more over the next week

Re: Rumour: Sony Showcase Could Be Set for First Week of June

torne

@Rural-Bandit defend him all you want... I have only heard his name thrown around over the last 2-3 years, and in that time I have heard him say 1 thing that was accurate.

It's always the same story with Jeff Grubb... "something might happen in the next few weeks"... 2 hours later... I know I said something might happen but also something might not happen.
