Re: PS Plus, PS Now Merged Service Revealed, Goes Live in June

@get2sammyb This is probably the best we could have hoped for. A restructuring without making people like me who barely justify PS+ get the upper tiers and a general improvement in the games offered at the top tier. The best part of it is that it has been announced and we can stop speculating about it.

@SegaBlueSky I haven't played any of them. I can't actually remember the last PS+ game I played, but I have gotten my money's worth over the years. A free game is just not as valuable as a paid game, so I have a lot of games to get through in my backlog before anything else gets a look in. PS+ games are quite good for games to play with my kids, although we have been playing Dragon Quest builders for about a year and a half!

@mrbone Sorry if I was misleading. I was just joking. I have made 0 great games and yet I'm not far off the number of great games made by Xbox on Game Pass. PS+ collection is better than Game Pass. The only game I have a connection to is that a friend of mine is in a game hobbist's group with the guy who developed CrossCode, and that game is supposed to be really good. Well, I have translated for a few mobile games, but I didn't make any.

@Old-Red I don't see any journalistic value in what Jason Schrier is doing, actually, it's really slimy to spoil entertainment reveals. It would be so much more fun for the rest of us if the companies just got to make their announcements. Just imagine the effort that hundreds of people went to not to let any details out ready for an impactful reveal, then some leech like Schrier just feeds off you and looks for another mark.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Gran Turismo 7 Still Leading the Pack Following Online Issues

@tinCAT-zero That's not how I meant it come across. Maybe I should have said that they are not aware of the complaints because ignorant often has a negative connotation. Or maybe they just don't care. My point was more that people can complain all they like, but people are still going to buy the game presumably because they enjoy it. I haven't played the game personally. From what I heard, there are microtransactions, but they don't interfere with the enjoyment of people who don't want to engage with them. An online connection is required, but it's not obvious to me why that is necessary. It seems to me that the sensible compromise would be to have an offline-only mode in which you can play the entire campaign, but you can't use the save data for online play.
There was a day when the game was offline, but that is not a reason to not buy the game.
People enjoy complaining about games and companies more than they enjoy playing them sometimes. It's all very opportunistic and inconsistent.
I'm glad you are enjoying GT7.

@Uncharted2007 I think Hulu was originally a collaboration among many major entertainment companies when they thought streaming/subscription services were worth investing in, but a bit risky to go it alone. Disney is very similar to Sony in many ways. In their respective fields they have premium content, but want a big slice of the streaming/subscription pie at the same time. I think it makes a lot of sense for PlayStation to have all games come to PS+/now after 6-12, but debut as paid games like the big Disney releases.
