@Ilyn I have the board game but I haven't played it yet, as I find it a bit intimidating to get to grips with. Would playing the PS5 game give me a good tutorial in how to play the tabletop version?

He's always been a cheater though, doing account sharing and having multiple people playing at the same time. There's tons of instances of him unlocking trophies in two different games at the same time, because there's at least two people earning the trophies on that account

I bloody love this game. Not convinced I'll ever finish a Gold stake deck, but I'll keep foolishly hoping!

I remember when G-Police came out and it was so insanely difficult to get my head around the controls, I even remember buying the pre-Dual Shock analogue controller. Second nature nowadays, but in 1997 or whatever, it was a revelation!

That, Colony Wars and Descent felt crazy

£70 / €80 games during a heavy cost of living crisis in two huge markets, at a time when player choice (and therefore backlogs) are higher than ever because of subscription models.

I WONDER why it hasn't sold as many as the £45 PS4 version of the first one?

Also releasing it pretty closely to the time sink that is FF16 probably wasn't that smart either.

Fighting EX Layer is a brilliant game, especially if you grew up on the StreetFighter EX Plus Alpha games on the PS1, but if you did, you probably knew that anyway!

@Sequel You clearly never played an early PS1 game if you think this looks even remotely similar. Fire up Die Hard Trilogy or Syphon Filter and tell me they look the same as this. Hyperbolic nonsense

I think the Outbreak games should just be abandoned to history though, the tepid response to modern RE online stuff just proves that nobody really wants it, it's just the nostalgia talking

Rogue Legacy 2 is an absolute banger of a game and I hope it does come to PS5, I've played the hell out of it on the XSX (after loving the first on PS4), and whilst I wouldn't buy it again and have to start again, it deserves a big audience

You definitely sacked this off early, all your screenshots and the quests you mentioned are from the beginning.

Don't get me wrong, it ain't great, but you've got to at least play it all if you're going to review it

EDIT: just checked, and yep, three trophies.

I loved the PS3 as a concept, and blu-ray was a game changer, but I hated using the system, so I barely every did. I bought one on launch and even replaced it with the first slim version down the line (not that awful slidey door thing), but it just seemed so clunky to use with installation, needing double HDD space to download and install digital content, having to download base versions then patch after, and just the overall feel of it compared to the 360 which was more like the previous generation in the way in which you could use it.

I was hoping they would go on to the PS+ Premium route along with Arc the Lad as I bought them all digitally on the PS3, but definitely buzzing for this too. Konami, do Vandal Hearts I and II next you cowards!

@UltimateOtaku91 Like a Dragon is only superficially connected to the other games, and is in a completely different style. It's turn based battles based on Dragon Quest, it has a job system and all sorts. Miles away from the traditional 1 - 6 style of Yakuza game

@twitchtvpat all of those games were purchasable on the PS3, and half of them were on the PS Classic, so it seems like a no-brainer to me.

@Richnj the Gamecube Resident Evil was a faithful remake? It's new areas, new boss, crimson heads / corpse disposal, CQC attacks etc don't count as being new!

It is STAGGERING how badly they have dropped the ball on the PS1 / PS2 classics selection.

Alundra, Arc the Lad, Legacy of Kain, Chrono Trigger, Cool Boarders, Legend of Dragoon, Dino Crisis, Metal Gear Solid, Mega Man, Parasite Eve, Silent Hill, Persona, Tomb Raider, Vagrant Story, Tekken, Xenogears...

Blows my mind how it just isn't ready.

@get2sammyb can you remap controls on PS5? I've got one, I just can't remember! Eg, could you build a "Syphon Filter" profile where you've remapped the old controls to a new style ?

If Tekken 2 has both trophies and online support, I'm in on day one

I would bet money that it is a series of NFTs, updates to the mobile game, Cloud's hair in some obscure Chinese MMO and absolutely nothing of any importance to anyone that actually likes the game.

@LiamCroft you've not mentioned the "backwards compatible" style bit where they've confirmed if you've bought the classic version previously, you get to download it and play it. Hopefully it eventually covers everything, but that's a decent detail!

As a minimum I'd expect to see the games that were licensed for the PlayStation Classic, but I think people expecting games like Tony Hawk, sports games, movie and TV ties-ins etc are going to be sorely disappointed.

I can't see there being any cult favourites either, so no Konami RPGs, no Rival Schools, Parasite Eve etc

Just big old tentpole games and weird choices like Mr Driller and Bust-a-Move
