Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4

Flurpsel

Well at some point government regulations step in to prevent MS forming a monopoly so hopefully this will end at some point. For now Im not too fussed as I dont play Activision games and I think this might force PS into become more competitive. This will probably mean better value for ps plus for example.

Re: We're Sure Everyone Will Be Calm About SEGA NFT Trademark

@3MonthBeef spot on about your last part where an NFT will drive up the value of in game item. Thats just the way it works and is exactly the reason videogame companies see an opportunity to cash in on it. 500 virtual credits for the rare item, and 5000 virtual credits for the item and a one off NFT.

Re: PS5 Stock Registrations Open in Europe Now

Cool. thanks for the headsup. Not sure what the criteria are but I've had this account for at least a decade and also held a plus subscription since the launch of PS4.

Im still not willing to pay 700 euro for a bundle but 500 for a disc version with no nonsens is reasonable.

Re: Game of the Year: #7 - It Takes Two

@rjejr @Voltan @Olmaz unfortunately it was too difficult for my gf. At the very least your partner should be able to control the camera with one stick and use the other for controls simultaneously (basic 3rd person controls).

Especially the boss fights can get pretty intense, and the platforming was a bit much for her too. So, something to take in consideration. I as a gamer thought the game was really fun however, would definitely recommend.

@themightyant yeah so far I'm good. I would like to have one but 1. I cant be bothered to go through a lot of hassle to buy one and 2. I"m not willing to fork over 700euro for a bundle edition with 2 games I wont play, an extra controller even though local coop doesnt exist anymore and a headset which I allready have. I'll wait..

Re: Mini Review: Terminator: Resistance Annihilation Line (PS5) – Mediocre Future Fighting Is Still One for the Fans

Flurpsel

@Northern_munkey cool. Thanks. I thought it meant more "straightforward", like there is no depth to it. Which is my opinion of many FPS games nowadays. Regenerating health, near infinite ammo, poor enemy AI, narrow maps, very little means of completing it in different ways, all that.

Heck, even the environment is pretty much static besides some scripted demolition. I remember when I played Destiny 1 which was heralded as the second coming of Christ and I would shoot a barrel and it didnt even move.

Halflife 2 back in the days had the gravity gun that you could use to manipulate the environment. I fully expected the gaming industry to build on that. But then Modern Warfare 1 came and every single FPS since was just some static setpiece scripted "ho hum" game.

Some exceptions though. I loved DOOM 2016 for example

Re: Rebellion Goes Loud with Sniper Elite 5's PS5, PS4 Reveal

Flurpsel

Played through 3 and 4 with a buddy in coop. I believe we still have the season pass to go through as well. Pretty fun with a mate if you dont take things too seriously.

These games can usually do with a lot more polish however. The controls are often wonky and enemy AI can be very inconsistent.

It also looks like they're doing nothing new, France instead of Italy..?

Re: Call of Duty: Vanguard Reportedly Has Series' Worst UK Launch in 14 Years

@MFTWrecks good point, unfortunately more recent wars are much more sensitive and political than the obivous good vs evil that the nazi conflict was. But I very much agree with you, would love to see some different conflicts.

But the same goes for the setting for most videogames (and movies by the way), it's allways in the USA. How about a GTA in Bangkok, how awesome would that be. The gaming (and entertainment industry in general) is just creatively bankrupt.

Re: Soapbox: Please Don't Let GTA 4 Rot on PS3, Rockstar

After the amazing map of San Andreas with 3 cities and everything in between Liberty City felt like a massive step down to me. I had a few other things I disliked as well but that was the main factor for me. I did play it a reasonable amount though but mainly because I didnt have much else to play at the time
