@YummyHappyPills To be honest ,AOT2 is a big disappointment, the first game opened at 150k across 3 platforms.

MHW holds well though and that's great.

@Fight_Teza_Fight Horizon indeed looks much more impressive than Zelda, but personally I think the gameplay in Zelda is more creative, the world is full of surprises and there're much more freedom.

Both are fantastic games though so does it really matter which one wins?

4 games got six nominations:

** Horizon Zero Dawn
** The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
** Super Mario Odyssey
** Destiny 2

@get2sammyb This is the best FW result of any 3D Mario games in Japan.. outsold Super Mario Galaxy by almost 50% and Wii had a much larger install base back than... Japan is never too keen on 3D Mario games.

Surprisingly good result for Ark and AC:O though!

I think both Sony and Nintendo have a lot of momentum going into this holiday period and they should both do very well..something I can't really say about XBox (It's all on PUBG)

Good price for Horizon.. it's a fantastic game and everyone should play it!

This does leave me wonder if I should pay full price for AC:O and Wolfenstein II now though... their prices are likely to drop significantly post Black Friday/Christmas

XBox is really in a sad place right now, PS4+Switch seems like the right combo going into this holiday...

Next week is probably going to be one of the most stacked weeks of this year so far.. the results will be interesting

Knack 2 is not Mario Odyssey but it deserves a better sale... it's not a bad game..

PS5 should stay as a power house but a portable PlayStation will definitely be a very attractive buy (assuming Sony will support it properly)

As it stands now I think PS4 + Switch is a perfect combination..and I'm surprised at myself that how much compromise I'm willing to take for that extra portability.

Didn't Capcom expect MvC:I to sell 2m copies? Its FW number is less than half of a port of a remake of a 20-year-old game (USF2) on a platform with a much larger user base.

From what I've gathered, the game isn't really bad...

Not a great number for Destiny 2.. and Japan certainly is not big on digital or PC so there's less excuse..

Everybody's Golf did much better in its glories days but 100k is a respectable number these days..

Both Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 and Nights of Azure 2 bombed pretty hard though.. NOA2 on Switch did particularly bad but I guess it's more to do with game itself rather than the platform, its numbers on PS4 and Vita are nothing too impressive either.

I assume Destiny 2 will take the top spot next week with a large margin.. anyone dare to guess the PS4 vs XBox One split?

@Mahe It's unfair to criticize the lack of big titles on Switch at this stage, it's done incredibly well compared to both XBox One and PS4 6 months into their debut and Nintendo has spaced the release of their exclusives very well..

@BLP_Software aye..tried around 2pm on Sunday it was fine.. maybe that's peak time and I was just lucky I think I'm going to wait for a month or two if I pick the game eventually. it does look appealing but I've got a few titles on ps4 to finish first

@BLP_Software and not sure why you had long time for match making... I briefly played it at a friend's place on Sunday (personally haven't decided to buy it or not yet) and matchmaking are as instant as it gets.. like <10 seconds.

@BLP_Software don't think the UK chart is value based.. it's raw sales number.. the leaked number put them 1k unit apart (29k vs 28k)

This is not a 'respectable' number for Gundam Versus, as a mainline entry this is actually very poor andby no means a success ....

@Splints It' nowhere to be found in the US until last week there was a large batch arrived and the online stock was sold out within hours..

To me no support for cross-plat play is not that a big deal, the real issue is if PS4 doesn't get public server/realm support then very few will be wanting to play Minecraft on PS4.. I guess the size of Minecraft community on PC, Android, IOS, Xbox and Switch is a tad bigger than Sony

Agreed.. PS4 and XBox are competitors day and night but Switch is a fantastic complement. Playing disgaea 5 on the go feels so good....and I've already clocked in 100+ hours on PS4.

Not to mention Horizon Zero Dawn and Zelda: BotW.. PS4 and Switch are really THE consoles to own this gen.

@BLP_Software Hmm...why do you want Switch to die? It offers gamers some different options other than sitting in front of the TV and this complements PS4 very well

@Mahe MK8D will have sold more copies than Switch version of Zelda in Japan by next week..even though Zelda released nearly two months earlier.. I think you're underestimating the appeal of Mario Kart.. don't forget that MK8D sold a staggering 400k+ copies in the US on the first weekend..

@Mahe Switch is still pretty much sold out everywhere in the UK so MK8D probably already has a very high attachment rate. I would expect it to have a very long leg.

Haven't got RE7 but it's definitely high up on my list.. will get it at some point before the holiday season

@Mahe You have to be mad to think the Wii U is the superior version.. 1080p 60fps alone make the switch version far better.. not to mention the incredibly fun 8 new battle courses and 5 new battle modes, new custimization options and the versatility from switch.. .. MK8 was a great game on Wii U but the best MK game to date is the switch version

absolutely loved Horizon and Zelda, and nearly 100% both of them. Haven't got chance to play wildlands and ME:A though..will probably wait for a price cut...

Both PS4 and Switch have some big titles in the next months.. Dragon Quest and Splatoon are as big as a game can get these days in Japan.

Not bad for Sony too, Switch+PS4 is really a win-win combo this gen

Played a few runs last night, and think it's actually pretty good. The combat is very tactical so it's very different from the simplistic combat of Issac .. Personally I like this game more.

Got this on Switch and I totally agree with this review, the control takes some time to get used to and the camera almost makes me feel motion sick as if I'm playing my PSVR! I guess I'll probably go back to platinum Horizon first and play this in small quick burst when I'm away from the TV.

Basically the dev studio acknowledged the game was rushed and could have use a few more months of polishing... It's not a bad game by any mean, the underlying mechanism is plausible.. it's just they didn't have enough time to finish it..

It's a little sad this seems to be a trend now in the industry.

To be honest it's a very weak launch for ME:A.

Glad to see two of my favorite games, Horizon and Zelda are still performing very well, in the case of Zelda that also means Switch is still selling. PS4+Switch really is the future!

@TheGZeus I doubt you can beat Torment X with a few hour's play time.. Torment X probably requires a full class-set with a few optimum legendaries for your build..and you'll need to spend a dozen of hours assuming you're not cheating..

And Torment X by no means is the highest difficulty, not even close, Rift and G-Rift are the real end-game of D3... you really have to min-max your build to reach the higher-level GRifts.

Assuming HZD, Mass Effect and Zelda will hold top 3 places in March respectively, will be interesting to see if the honor can still hold..

For Nintendo and Sony fans, it's looking to be one of the best years...Still pretty sad for XBox owners though...hopefully Microsoft can deliver at E3
