Re: Japan Simply Isn't Enough Anymore as Square Enix Calls Global Market a 'Critical' Priority

As a few others have eluded too, hopefully this means more content in the west and Europe.

On Xbox, the One era did tremendous damage everywhere, and I still think it's going to be a while before Japanese studios and publishers release content on a continious basis on it. I think they are going in the right direction, but, I would argue that if you were a JRPG fan, at any point, you would have gone with PS in the first place anyway.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Make of Microsoft and Sony's Call of Duty Quarrel?

It's been hilarious. Xbox don't have to put it on PS at all, they have no obligation too, and when you spend 70bn you can do what you well please with a first party IP.

I'd be more concerned what they do with Spyro and Crash, which I suspect would go fully exclusive.

And yes, I hope this is the last publisher they buy, as a few others have eluded, although something tells me that won't be the case.

Re: Devolver Debunks Ludicrous Rumour Claiming Sony Paid to Keep Cult of the Lamb Off Xbox Game Pass

It's a shame because it's almost enticing the console sparring in the comments in a article written like that.

Kinda Funny have got a big following though and if something is insinuated on it, people will run with it.

It's getting a bit ridiculous now. I think lots of games now going forward will be thrown in the notion that if they don't appear on GP, it is because Sony is blocking it.

Re: Tencent Poised to Take Major Stake in French Publisher Ubisoft

Another one that I think will end up 100% under someone at some point, looking in this case like Tencent. Obviously I would rather they went under Sony or Microsoft, but the way the industry again, I think we will have a future where more and more will go under someone else. Sony will acquire. Microsoft will continue to acquire. Tencent will acquire. Embracer will acquire. We will see if Amazon/Google/Apple decide to enter too.

Re: Sony Sounds Shook by Xbox's Activision Buyout, Says Call of Duty Has No Rival

It's an interesting one, although I do find it slightly ironic given how much PS have paid to keep content off Xbox. They have already confirmed that it will stay MP, and although if they made exclusive it would drive the subs up massively, as others have said, they won't walk away from the money it brings in from PS.

Microsoft could go and get this closed by June next year (although personally I think it closes before then) and then by Dec next year announce they are acquiring another company. Mad thing is they could go and acquire another publisher, and they still will not be hitting a monopoly. You do not become a monopoly by becoming the third highest company in terms of revenue.
