Don’t forget this is physical though, where Xbox is very heavy digital in most places I think now. I’d be interested to see what the digital sales are for both consoles.
As a few others have eluded too, hopefully this means more content in the west and Europe.
On Xbox, the One era did tremendous damage everywhere, and I still think it's going to be a while before Japanese studios and publishers release content on a continious basis on it. I think they are going in the right direction, but, I would argue that if you were a JRPG fan, at any point, you would have gone with PS in the first place anyway.
Could it just be there isn't anything to show yet? Hence we've not had much? Other than Spider Man 2 and Wolverine, have they announced anything else? Maybe we will get a showcase early in the new year.
I will sign up to it, but I won't be actively pursuing it. It looks quite mediocre in terms of point ratio to purchase etc. Hopefully they improve over time.
Interesting to read that Microsoft wouldn't offer concessions for it to pass at Phase 1, makes me think that eventually the idea would be for most content to go exclusive
It's been hilarious. Xbox don't have to put it on PS at all, they have no obligation too, and when you spend 70bn you can do what you well please with a first party IP.
I'd be more concerned what they do with Spyro and Crash, which I suspect would go fully exclusive.
And yes, I hope this is the last publisher they buy, as a few others have eluded, although something tells me that won't be the case.
Ultimately I think those that want to get a PS will still get one regardless, but there was talk of it, and it’s interesting to see them follow through with it.
It's a shame because it's almost enticing the console sparring in the comments in a article written like that.
Kinda Funny have got a big following though and if something is insinuated on it, people will run with it.
It's getting a bit ridiculous now. I think lots of games now going forward will be thrown in the notion that if they don't appear on GP, it is because Sony is blocking it.
@Fyz306903 I think in the long term, yes. Take 2 and EA I think will be the last, but my feeling would be in 10 years time, only a handful of big ones will exist, all others will be under them
Another one that I think will end up 100% under someone at some point, looking in this case like Tencent. Obviously I would rather they went under Sony or Microsoft, but the way the industry again, I think we will have a future where more and more will go under someone else. Sony will acquire. Microsoft will continue to acquire. Tencent will acquire. Embracer will acquire. We will see if Amazon/Google/Apple decide to enter too.
As much as I was really looking forward to this, they seem to have just taken this in a complete different direction. Will be one I wait until it drops massively in price
It's an interesting one, although I do find it slightly ironic given how much PS have paid to keep content off Xbox. They have already confirmed that it will stay MP, and although if they made exclusive it would drive the subs up massively, as others have said, they won't walk away from the money it brings in from PS.
Microsoft could go and get this closed by June next year (although personally I think it closes before then) and then by Dec next year announce they are acquiring another company. Mad thing is they could go and acquire another publisher, and they still will not be hitting a monopoly. You do not become a monopoly by becoming the third highest company in terms of revenue.
I went fully digital a few years ago, and I couldn't go back to disc now I don't think. Unless it's dramatically reduced, anything I buy on release is now digital for me.
I will be probably be sticking to Extra, rather than Premium at the moment. I remember Game Pass being the same early on, and I've no doubt overtime, we will start seeing more day one stuff, not necessarily first party, I suspect maybe 6-7 months down the line, but third party.

Re: Kojima Productions Isn't for Sale, Despite Ridiculously High Offers
Microsoft and Tencent, although I suspect Sony also went for them
Re: PS5 Exclusive Ghostwire Tokyo Is Coming to Xbox, According to Wall Art in Bethesda Office
I thought it was pretty much a given
I actually quite enjoyed it when I played on PS, so I will have to jump back into it when it comes to Game Pass
Re: Naked Man Leaks Gameplay of Hideo Kojima Game Overdose
Still think personally this is the Xbox title, and the title with Elle Fanning is DS2.
Re: Atomic Heart Confirmed for February 2023 Release on PS5, PS4
2023 is going to be a great year across all platforms. The first quarter is already stacked.

Pre-ordered this one on PS, really looking forward to it
Re: Just 70MB of Data Contained on the Modern Warfare 2 Disc
As someone who moved over fully digital a few years ago, you are effectively just paying for the licence disc as a few have said
Re: Hideo Kojima Says Next Project Will Transcend Video Games, 'It's Almost Like a New Medium'
@themightyant
Yes, something episodic if I remember the rumors.
Re: Hideo Kojima Says Next Project Will Transcend Video Games, 'It's Almost Like a New Medium'
I would have a guess going off his comments that this is the Xbox title that uses cloud tech.
Re: Highly Promising PS5, PS4 Horror The Callisto Protocol Is Ready for Release
Looks great, cannot wait

Re: Ridiculous Rumour Reckons PS Showcase Delayed Due to Investigation into Xbox's Activision Acquisition
@4kgk2 I know they have quite a few 3P titles already lined up, Forspoken, KOTOR, Ronin, etc, I was referring to 1P titles.
Re: Ridiculous Rumour Reckons PS Showcase Delayed Due to Investigation into Xbox's Activision Acquisition
Could it just be there isn't anything to show yet? Hence we've not had much?
Other than Spider Man 2 and Wolverine, have they announced anything else?
Maybe we will get a showcase early in the new year.

Re: PSVR2 Is Truly Next-Gen, And Indies Will Lead the Software Charge
Not going to be for me personally but I am intrigued to see more of it in action. And of course the price lol
Re: The PS5, PS4 Release Schedule in 2023 Is Officially, Utterly Ridiculous
2023 is a stacked year in terms of gaming across all platforms. Bank balance will take a huge hit lol

Re: Sony Won't Let Microsoft's $69 Billion Activision Acquisition Go, Stresses It's Bad for Gaming
It's hilarious to see, even if it does fall short at the end.
Thing is even if it is blocked by one of the regulators, I suspect it would still go Microsoft's way in court
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Make of Microsoft and Sony's Call of Duty Quarrel?
It's been hilarious. Xbox don't have to put it on PS at all, they have no obligation too, and when you spend 70bn you can do what you well please with a first party IP.

Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake Pitch Images Leak, May Be a Timed PlayStation Exclusive
May aswell call all timed exclusives by Sony, exclusives, we know what their timed exclusive contracts mean lol
On all serious note, interested to see whether this comes to fruition. Personally don't think Bloober are a bad studio.
Re: PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium PS5, PS4 Games for September 2022 All Announced
Not a bad month at all for additions.
Presumably Deathloop going to PS Extra/Premium means it's not launching on Xbox September.
Re: Rumour: Amazon to Announce Acquisition of EA Later Today
Of course, it could just be what it says, a rumour lol
Re: Rumour: Amazon to Announce Acquisition of EA Later Today
Imagine if they made all EA games exclusive to Luna?
Re: PS5 Price Increase Confirmed for UK, Europe, Japan, Canada, and More
@Luigia oh eventually, yes it definitely will.
Re: PS5 Price Increase Confirmed for UK, Europe, Japan, Canada, and More

Be interesting to see if Xbox follows.

Nintendo don't need to do anything, they will do what they do now.
Re: Cult Horror Game The Chant Spooks PS5 This November
Looks good. Great time to be a horror fan at the moment.

Re: Embracer Group Buys The Lord of the Rings IP, Maneater Dev, Limited Run, and More
@UltimateOtaku91 I'm interested to know your thoughts - is more consolidation OK as long as games remain MP?
Re: Embracer Group Buys The Lord of the Rings IP, Maneater Dev, Limited Run, and More
More consolidation, and no sight of slowing down
Genuinely think we are going to be in a future where most devs/publishers are owned by one of Sony, Microsoft, Tencent or Embracer.
Re: Poll: Is PS Plus Premium Good Enough?
No, not for me at the moment I'm afraid.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Death Stranding May Be Coming to Game Pass on PC
They have updated their image on the twitter feed now - same picture with rain, definitely think it's Death Stranding
Re: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Playable One Week Early with Digital PS5, PS4 Pre-Order
@Tasuki It's on all platforms, its not an exclusive period to PS

Re: Soapbox: PS Plus Premium Has Turned My Email Inbox into a Nightmare

Re: A Plague Tale: Requiem Brings Back Rats on 18th October for PS5
I loved the first one, great game, will take advantage of it being on Game Pass
