Re: Sony Claps Back at UK Regulator's 'Irrational' Reversal on Microsoft Activision Deal

It's all getting really silly on both sides now, with comments made. I would argue that if even if ABK now doesn't go through, any sort of agreement/marketing etc is now long gone.

I would argue that as if Jim Ryan says, you have put all eggs in one basket, that is complete failure of leadership. Personally I haven't brought a PS for Call of Duty. I brought one for the high-quality first party games.

ABK has gone, fine, use the opportunity to bring back IP, and be innovative. I remember when it was announced Deviation Games would be partnering with Playstation, presumably making something exclusive. Perhaps that might be one to watch.

Saw a comment about Microsoft spending because they can, yet if Sony were in the same position I guarantee they would do the same.

Re: UK Regulator No Longer Concerned About Activision Buyout's Impact on Console Competition

Some of these comments are absolutely hilarious. I get some are upset with today's news, and some do feel very strongly about it, but it just seems a bit crazy to me

All this talk about Call of Duty, I hope they take the majority off that and let them go and make other games. Have the main 3 on COD, (IW, Treyarch, Sledgehammer) and have the others go and do other bits. The back catalog and IP of Activision is so rich I'm hoping we get some bits brought back. Starcraft. Spyro. Personally, I'd love a new Guitar Hero.

I don't think they will be able to do anything in terms of major publishers after, although I guess they will definitely continue to expand with smaller studios.

I would argue if Sony continue to put out the games they do, they will be quite alright.

I still maintain Square is a bit pointless given how much of theirs is exclusive anyway.

Personally don’t think you’ll see Sony go after a publisher and continue to invest either in smaller studios or a stake like that they did with FromSoft.

Think Sony have to continue to be smart as they always have because they can’t compete when it comes to financial power with Microsoft.

I normally refuse to look at these sort of articles because I know what the comments are full of, but I thought I would do for a change lol. I would argue now it's not really a great comparison given they are both going in different directions. Sony still want to sell consoles, and they will continue to do that, Xbox want to sell subscription, and that will be their push. Nintendo will carry on doing what they do.

I want all three brands to be at the best and push each other because that's what's good for us as gamers. Or how I feel anyway.

We know Sony will continue to dominate the console market, and I don't think they will ever relinquish that now. But, when MS do not release their console sales, but push GP, GP, GP, you know where the priorities lie.
