At work this weekend but will probably continue playing SMTV when I get time. I'm considering lowering the difficulty because It's quite a grindy combat-heavy game so far. I'm also eyeing up Yu-Gi-Oh! in the PSN sale, because I'm a sucker for shiny cards with cool monsters.
I just got back from Japan and there are posters and billboards for it everywhere. Video game sections in general were smaller than I thought, anime and One Piece figures seem to dominate, but any gaming section had a dragon quest promotion
Owlcat games have been a bit garbage with their console ports for a while. Hoping they finally make the effort with this one because the game looks really cool.
Just started this today after a couple of weeks in Japan ending with Tokyo Tower. Was quite surprised to see Tokyo Tower at the very start of the game. Looking forward to playing more, I'm enjoying the increased freedom so far compared to Persona 5.
@RiotShieldsHurt they actually dabbled with this during the PSP/PS3. The PSP had some streaming functionality with PS3. If I remember correctly it had very limited compatability, but it was there.
Soul Sacrifice Delta would thrive these days I reckon. Especially after the success of Monster Hunter World and Elden Ring/Dark Souls. It was dismissed as a clone but it had a lot of cool stuff going for it.
I'm finally playing Final Fantasy XV on PS5. It's an incredibly flawed game with a million issues yet there's something about it that I find really endearing. The combat is messy but quite fun when you get into the rhythm, and I just enjoy riding around on my Chocobo listening to old FF tunes with the lads, taking pics and fishing. I can see why it's a divisive game but I'm looking forward to playing more. Still looks fantastic for a game from 2015, too.
Happy about the friend activity update. I got my PS5 earlier this year and was surprised to see this type of thing missing. I always enjoyed seeing what my friends were playing and "liking" their platinums on PS4.
@Enuo Harry Potter is one of the most beloved and fleshed-out fictional worlds ever created. Seems unfair to dismiss that because the snitch is a bit convenient.
The PS3/360 really got screwed on Potter games, seriously lazy cash-grabs, although the OoTP castle was cool.
My picks are Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban for PS2. The lego games were great too. Also, I do have to give a shout out to Chamber of Secrets on GBC which was miles better than it had any right to be.
@Kraven Sorry for your loss mate. I didn't gel with Ys VIII too much personally, I think I preferred the simplicity of Memories of Celceta, but it's awesome to hear you got some comfort from it.
Got the plat in Astro's Playroom, excellent welcome to my (somewhat) new PS5. Beyond that I'm diving back into my 100+ hour save of Monster Hunter Rise and I plan on returning to Nioh 2, which is one of my fave soulslikes outside of From Software's own.
@KillerBoy there's nothing wrong with Sony branching out into more multiplayer projects, this one just...isn't it. Also not every multiplayer game needs to be a live service, the two terms have basically been merged at this point
Playing a random bunch this weekend. I've got Death Stranding Directors Cut which is an incredibly weird but polished game that I'm enjoying finally diving into. I'm also playing Lost in Random, which is fun so far, amazing artstyle that reminds me of Coraline and the Alice games. Finally I'm playing Pokemom the card game 2 which some legend online did an excellent fan translation for, and I'm a sucker for collectable cards with cool pictures.
Surely Sony would make MORE money if they have fewer games on the store but of higher quality? And developers who actually worked hard would get more exposure and reward for their efforts. I have no idea why they have let it get to the state it is in.
@UltimateOtaku91 The Monster Hunter movie was so boring I can remember me and my brother had a 20 minute conversation about Resident Evil about half way through. Not in the cinema, obviously lol
Sony have had a great year for games. Their first-party output has been dire, but they've made very smart 2nd party partnerships with games that are game of the year candidates. Astrobot yet to come π€

Re: Official PlayStation Blog Reveals Game of the Year Winners, Astro Bot Sweeps
This makes me so angry I'm going to review bomb a completely irrelevant game (just kidding Astro bot rules)
Re: Borderlands 4 Promises Not to Be Aggressively Unfunny
The wackier and the more "lol random" the franchise got the less interested I was. I still think the first is the best
Re: Feature: The Game Awards 2024's Best Announcement, As Voted By You
Onimusha, Okami and Ninja Gaiden were the picks for me π
Re: Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered (PS5) - PlayStation Classics Return in a Deserved Revival
Old games are just cooler so I'm down
Re: Horizon Rip-Off Light of Motiram Will Actually Come to PS5
@z0d15g0d Horizon cultism? All I've ever seen are people complaining about the franchise
Re: This Horizon Rip-Off Has to Be One of the Most Blatant Copycat Games Ever
It's a blatant rip-off, but it doesn't look half bad to be fair

Re: The Game Awards Confirms DLC, Remasters Can Win Game of the Year Days Prior to Nominations Reveal
Too many awesome games this year to give it to (what i'm assuming is) Elden Ring DLC. Elden Ring has had it's time.

Re: Mini Review: SUNSOFT Is Back! Retro Game Selection (PS5) - Archaic But Interesting 80s Bundle
I love the attention to detail and the included artwork ect, but 3 games isn't enough for me. UFO 50 kind of shows this game up
Re: Sony Product Manager Urges PS5 Fans to 'Settle Down' Over Ads
Push back is good when company's pull this kinda BS. If you don't speak up it'll become the norm. No ads on my homescreen please
Re: Infinity Nikki Could Be the Cosiest PS5 Game Ever Made
Gacha and cozy don't really go together for me. Last thing I want to do during a cozy game is worry about in-app purchases, Log-in bonus' or FOMO

Re: Freelance Artist Attempts to Redesign PS5, PC Flop Concord's Cast
Concord designs should be taught in art colleges for what to avoid. This one guy improves them all, on his own, for free.
Re: PS5 Pro Can Run PS4 Games Better Via Improved Backwards Compatibility
I really hope this console bombs, at least in the UK. That price is not acceptable and $700 is not Β£700. I guess we'll see.
Re: Sony Increases PS5 Controller Prices in US, Europe, and More
Sony are taking the piss these days with the nickel and diming.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong's Sales Top 18 Million in Two Weeks on PS5, PC
Smartest thing Sony have done in years is get behind these Chinese/South Korean games. Obviously a lot of money to made.
Re: Minecraft's Weird Live Action Movie Is Going to Be Massive, Isn't It?
This looks dreadful and I actually quite like Minecraft
Re: Concord PS5, PC Sales Estimates Are Somehow Even Worse Than We Thought
My only opinion on Concord is that they actively tried to make the most unappealing cast of characters ever created.

This might be the best cosmetic in any game ever
Re: Visions of Mana (PS5) - Classic RPG Series Returns with Good But Flawed Intentions
@breakneck I'll be honest, I'm a big persona fan but I thought P5R slowed to a crawl at times.
@ShogunRok cheers for the review. Any idea how long it is? Wouldn't be opposed to a shorter JRPG for a change

Re: Black Myth: Wukong Is Blowing Up Big Time on PS5, PC
Wow those are seriously impressive numbers. I was hoping it would do well but this is like Elden Ring/Hogwarts Legacy kinds of success. Madness

Re: Movie Review: Borderlands - As Bland As the Brand It's Based On
The best Borderlands game is the first in my opinion. After that they tripled down on the "wacky" humour and I couldn't enjoy them as much.
