Re: Spider-Man PS4's Release Date Has Been Decided

KingSimba

Didn't expect they will announce the release date this early. OK, I predict July. Reason why is that when they announced the release date of God Of War, it was by the end of January (3 months prior to it's release). Plus, Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in July 2017. So, its a good omen for them, especially it was a critical and a commercial success.

Re: Detroit: Become Human Makes Difficult Decisions on 25th May

KingSimba

So now we know Detroit’s release date. I think Sony better avoid releasing Spider-Man and Days Gone in June-July, because the whole world will be glued to the screen for the World Cup. Dont you think? I know they’re different things, but I think Sony will take this major event into consideration. Especially that Spider-Man is an international icon. So I still predict that Spider-Man is coming for late Summer/early Fall (August-September). And I think Days Gone will come out in December Or early 2019.

Re: Talking Point: Could Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass Model Work on PS4?

KingSimba

It’s a great move from Microsoft. I can see MP focused games like Destiny, CoD, Overwatch and games like AC, or taletale games or maybe indie games might benefit with this model. But Microsoft needs to pump in more of their own games to make it matter and valuable which they have but still not enough. Sony should keep on going with their business, it works. But they’ll surely watch this Xbox Game Pass closely. Let’s wait and see.

Re: Crash Bandicoot PS4 Trilogy Director Working on an Unannounced Project

KingSimba

CTR please. Just think about it, after the runaway success of N.Sane Trilogy, Crash is back and people love him. The next step is to utilize it for another game, CTR is a valid and a logical step for it. In addition to the main campaign and the multiplayer split screen that was from the original, It will surely have an online racing mode for it, especially it's an Activision game. That's my take, do it Activision.

Re: Feature: 5 Ways PS4 Can Dominate in 2018

KingSimba

The PS4 is reaching its finale years of its generation and still dominating the market. In terms of first party games, I hope we’ll get an announcement for the release date of God of War at the end of this month. TLOUP2, Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding are 2019 and beyond at the very least. Detroit and Dreams can come in May and July respectively. Spider-Man in late Summer-early Fall, August-September. Days Gone is the wild card here, I think it’ll get slipped to early 2019. Those are just my predictions.

Re: Ni no Kuni II Delay Confirmed, Now Launches March 2018 for PS4

KingSimba

Totally fine with it getting delayed as I’m interested in playing MHW and DBFZ in January, but Sony won’t just allow releasing God of War (if the leaked release date is true) and NNK at the same week, right? Even if it’s not a first party game, I think they should space them out. Please Sony, don’t release GoW at that week!

Re: Portkey Games Is Likely to Bring Harry Potter to PS4

KingSimba

Wait, all I know from the press release is that Portkey games will oversee HP games, not necessarily develop them? So for the mobile game, Portkey are overseeing it and Niantic are developing it? My GOD. What if this next console game they’re mentioning is being developed by Rocksteady!?

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony PlayStation's Paris Games Week 2017 Press Conference Deliver?

KingSimba

I really liked this press conference. I’m hyped for SP’s Ghost of Tsushima (Could’ve had a better title), but it still needs to show what makes it different from Onimusha, NiOh or Ninja Gaiden. Happy for Drinkbox are making Guacamelee 2. Can’t wait for SotC. I don’t need to see more Detroit, GoW or TLOUP2. I think we’ll get hard release dates of GoW and Detroit and more on Dreams and Days Gone at PSX.

Re: Poll: Do You Think Single Player Games Are Really In Danger of Dying Out?

KingSimba

I’m a single player person. I have played 4 AAA SP games that came out this year: Horizon, Persona 5, Nier: Automata (still playing) and The Lost Legacy. They’re all great games, enjoyed them. I still believe AAA SP games will continue to exist, but they’ll be less than before (I hope not). I think EA are making it clear that SP story driven experiences won’t be their focus, and it sucks. I also think Bioware has ANTHEM as their last shot, given that especially it’s a new IP, or they’ll suffer the consequences. On the bright side, indie studios exist. They still give us rich, story driven experiences, sometimes even better than the EAs and Ubisofts. Let’s hope that more publishers prioritise SP over GaaS.

Re: Poll: Do You Want Another Portable PlayStation?

KingSimba

I think Sony are just waiting to see if the Switch will have a big success in the long term and have a large user base, but after what Andrew House said, I don't think Sony will go back for a portable device, not in the near future at least. I think Nintendo games work better on the go more than PlayStation's. If Sony will do a new portable device, i'm on board. But will I want to play The Last of Us Part II for example on the go? I don't think so. So you see, Sony may see that their games are not best experienced on a handheld, and I'm totally fine with that.

Re: Review: Matterfall (PS4)

KingSimba

Good review. That's what I feared when they first reveald the gameplay. I've said it felt low budgety, funny that you mentioned this too. Nex Machina is better, but Housmarque still makes good games even for the less reviewd ones.

Re: Housemarque Is Really Spoiling Us with Matterfall

KingSimba

I wasn't entirely convinced by it, but now having watched this gameplay many times and glad it changed my mind. Gameplay feels good and it looks like the offspring of Outland and Resogun. But Jari (Housmarque) confirmed in the PlayStation E3 interview that they won't use Voxel visuals for Matterfall, they'll use 3D polygons (Wonder why?). Bit disappointed, but I hope it turns out great.

Re: Opinion: Has Sony Really Fallen Out of Love with Indie Games?

KingSimba

A fine article @get2sammyb. But I think Gio Corsi is taking that helm of showing off that passion, with Vita at least at PSX. I mentioned this before, but PlayStation is clearly shifting their focus to their AAA games now, I can't blame them. Really interested to see how PSX 2017 will turn out.

Re: Soapbox: Why Did Sony Ditch Two of the Best Games of the Year?

KingSimba

I get your point @get2sammyb. I loved how PS3 gave us The Unfinished Swan, Journey, Flower, PixelJunk Monsters/Shooter...etc. I am a big fan of those and in my opinion they made the PS3 so special. But I think Sony shifted their focus, they're focusing more on AAA first/second party exclusives and AAA third party deals. I think Mm(Dreams) and Japan studio are the only first party devs that are making those great, weired exclusives for PlayStation. Hope we see more.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on Destiny 2?

KingSimba

I only played nearly an hour of Destiny at my friend's house, I enjoyed it but I never bought it. Simply because the story was lacking, required lots of game time and most of all, my internet connection was bad and has a data cap. So I hope and pray that my internet situation improves (It has improved now to be honest) before 8th of September, because I really enjoyed Bungie's Halo 1 & 2, top shooters with good story. Hopefully, Bungie learned their lesson from Destiny and improves them for Destiny 2.

Re: PS4 Exclusive Dreams Remains an Incredibly Attractive Enigma

KingSimba

Media Molecule likes to utilize the system's hardware in a nice, creative way (Take Tearaway on Vita for example). So for Dreams, with a more powerful console, and maybe and option to play it on PSVR, I can't imagine how it will feel, let alone if it will have a full single player story mode with gameplay. But I'm cautiously optimistic.
