@jacco: With "details" I meant stuff "under the hood" and things you would have to go out of your way to even notice.
But I don't care either way. The last GT I played was 2 on the PS1. I just clicked on the article because the headline was so ridiculous-.-'
And no I would not complain even in the scenario you described. Always been a performance over graphics guy^^
They should hire better devs then. Kidding aside, they could cut considerable man hours if they didn't invest so much time in details only a small percentage of players sees.
...Really not a fan of all the non linear business. All that makes me do is stop the game and look up the "best" solution (the one with the best rewards in terms of gameplay, mostly).
In other words just an additional hassle for me, but maybe I'm alone in that.
I really don't even feel a need for a PS5 Pro. Most games that don't run at least 2k/60 just aren't programmed very well. And 4k....well that COULD be an argument, but I honestly can't really tell the difference on under 60'' TVs, especially once I'm absorbed in a game. Guess they could "unify" performance and graphics mode again to have the best of both worlds with a PS6?
Even I can port a Switch game to PS5 in 4k/60. Nowadays even mobile games have a better chipset and would be harder to port -.-' no offense, just saying. The Engine IS very good, definitely helped with the process a lot.
I don't remember the PS4 version needing any of the above mentioned fixes though...also this might just be me, but I don't play the Trails games for their water effects.
The only thing I miss a little is the textlog function but then again I can just save a video if I accidentaly skip some text (which doesn't normally happen to me).
@MickOnYourFace: It's mentioned right there in the news. The Switch Version was ported by some other studio which was clearly more dedicated to its work and added some extra features, while the PS4 version didn't need a port as it already existed in Japan.
Trophies were always a - admittedly shallow - excuse for me to play a game I love again and maybe encourage me to do so in a different way. Obsessing over them and letting them take away from the fun was never really my thing..
In short, if I end up loving the game it's probably an automatic platinum for me someday^^
Funny. I already "watch" all their games since Uncharted 3 on YouTube, since I find that more entertaining and am not interested in their kind of gameplay anyway. So yeah, works for me xD
I already feel like I go through 2 DualSense charges a day, so to get a consistent experience I would need 2 of those controllers, which even I am not stupid enough to shell out for xD
On a side note: Do any of you feel the same about the low battery notice on PS5? I feel like the notice pops up way too soon. I can get in a solid 3 hours after the PS5 tells me that my controller is getting empty -.-'
It's interesting that the Xbox doesnt get Ray-Tracing. I prefer my 60FPS any time of the time but just found that interesting. Wasn't the Xbox initially thought of as the more powerful but slower console?
edit: @Kunfoostu: ah, yes. My mistake. I must have gone through it too quickly.
Thankfully they sometimes change the digital box art on PS5 when major DLC comes out. I'm not going to war because of a bad picture, but it is a shame nonetheless to have such a potentially great game be chained to a really bad first impression..
I think this will even impact some sales negatively xD
I'm not even waiting because of a potential price drop but more because most games seem to not be properly finished at release and have to be patched up a bit -.-' Really just thinking logically: Pay less and get a better game if you buy in later xD
Still have the PS3 version digitally and since it seems to be no different I see no reason to buy this. I did quite love the game back on the Gamecube, but now it just cant impress (me) anymore. There are so much better games nowadays, but it did have a nice story, I'll give it that.
This seems like an unwanted mistake. The PS Store was always a buggy mess with especially subscription and licensing stuff not working right, when new versions release. Of course that's no excuse, just a potential explanation. I highly doubt they deliberately would remove games without a heads-up when they can practically count on people pointing it out and make them look bad -.-'
Of course this is still vital to point out in news sites like this or else it would probably not get fixed xD
it all depends on what quality the 1080 is. It can look quite beautiful - even indistinguishable - from some upscaled 2k graphics so I see no reason to complain before I see it.
@Ralizah : Hehe, same here. My backlog will take years to clear even if no new games come out (but I WILL get through it) xD
I'm mostly catching up to classic PS2 JRPGs right now since I sadly missed that gen due to....circumstances. Think Wild Arms, Suikoden and the like.
And yeah no rush. Honestly it's nice to have "too many games". It's way easier to wait for your most anticipated games and you can always pick and choose something according to your mood. With that said I think we've abused this news article enough. This has nothing to do with Tactics Ogre any more xDD
@Ralizah Hmmm, I would say it gets pretty tactical. You also get scored by how well you did each map. There is also a dedicated puzzle "mode" where you have to accomplish specific things in very limited turns. Also an arcade mode, map maker (including story creation with tons of uploads from other players). If that's important, you can also change the difficulty to make it harder/easier for yourself altough you'll get a limit on your score if you make it easier. Game's well thought out in my opinion.
I liked Advance Wars too, but I always got tired of it by the end, especially when they overdid it with the foggy stages xD
Can't say for sure since I don't know you specifically, but I would say there's a pretty high chance Wargroove will live up to your expectations.
@Ralizah : Those are great games as well, have fun! While waiting for Advance Wars have you tried Wargroove? It's better in every aspect (in my opinion).
Damn, I forgot all about the Game Awards. One more thing too (at least kinda) look forward to^^ altough I tend to tune in an hour later so I can fastforward everything not of interest to me (;
@Flaming_Kaiser: Yeah, but it's not like it hurts ME or anything so as I said, I can just ignore those stupid decisions as long as it doesn't interfere with their output.
Everyone makes mistakes (some on a constant basis) but either they'll have success with it which would be great for them I guess, or they'll fail and learn from it. I don't have any stake in it either way so why get upset about it?
@TowaHerschel7: I'm no fan of NFTs, but if it doesn't interfere with their output on singleplayer games I can just ignore that. All the more if it makes them enough money to be able to support or even amplify their current output of JRPGs. While Nintendofunded it's still Square Enix making these HD2D games which prooves to me they still got what it takes. Even though we are not as dependent on them as before with Falcom knocking it out of the park and even Atlus still chugging along with their SMTs (:
And just as a sidenote I am quite happy Deus Ex will get another chance with embracer (and the same team). I really loved those games and want to now how it continues^^
I'm already quite satisfied with traversal in the new Star Ocean game. I'll probably buy Forspoken in a year or so, when most bugs have been fixed and the game is about half in price. Got way too much stuff to play right now
It does not really matter. Every half-intelligent person in Japan is smart enough to make a sub account and buy it digitally from somewhere else. And most of them have basic english knowledge to understand what little text there might be in a horror game. Altough I really doubt there is no asian version with at least a subtitle they understand.
But I dont really care either way, not a horror guy..
Btw what's with all the censored comments? Are they really that bad xD
Never played Resident Evil, but maybe it's a time sensitive thing now? If you take too long to get there, the dog is dead. Would be kinda cool actually xD
If he is serious about having to threaten to leave just to get this game greenlit, this is quite worrysome. Someone at Square Enix really seems to not understand how video games work -.-'

Re: Mini Review: Tales of Symphonia Remastered (PS4) - Barebones Remaster Distracts from a Classic RPG
hmmm, so no reason to buy it, if I have a BETTER version on an OLDER system like PS3 -.-'
Re: Danganronpa Influenced Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Could Skip PS5, PS4
Might just be that Nintendo made a deal with them between their last showing and now. These things happen all the time
Re: Forspoken PS5 Patch Will Address Performance, Graphics, and More as Dev Remains 'Committed'
I wouldn't mind the dialouge since I would have played it in a different spoken language anyway, but I'm not down for 90 % checklist hunting.

Re: Don the Power of Dressing Up in PS5, PS4 Open World Adventure Infinity Nikki
I like my fair doze of anime girls, but they're all kinda bad-ass. This game seems to lack that so far (for me anyway).

I can't in good conscience buy this thing without at least 3 games I wanna play. Gonna wait for that first.

I'd rather have them add another "lowest level" tier, 'cause I only pay for the cloud saves xD
Re: The Witcher 3 PS5 Has 'Dozens' of Improvements, Integrated Mods, and New Netflix Show Content
Unless the whole skill system is changed - which I doubt - there just isn't a way to make this interesting to me -.-'
The fighting was just too monotonous for me and the "per cent" upgrades didn't help.

2022 was a real sleeper year. Can't wait to see the list for 2023. THAT one will be difficult to decide who wins what.

Re: Tactics Ogre: Reborn (PS5) - A Tale That Grew in the Telling
So far my favorite is the Devil Survivor tactical series, but argueably more so for their storytelling.
Gameplaywise Triangle Strategy was a true joy as well. It will be fun to compare those two when they are both fresh in my mind again^^
