@nookie_egg yes, by not including multiplayer the game is more accessible to players who get the game years later, because a chunk of it won't have been removed with a server shutdown.
@Cutmastavictory Netflix for TV turned out way better than traditional cable. Not only are shows much better than the pre-Netflix era they're also much easier to consume. I guess you're right, game subscriptions are the way forward.
@Solomon18 they also deserve to eat, have electricity, and a roof over their head, but that hasn't stopped all of those necessities from increasing in price. Basically the world economy is screwed right now, nothing is safe.
@stvevan speak for yourself. I've already tossed my PS5 off the roof and bought a $2000 PC because of this price increase. If anything, this is an under-reaction.
@Shepherd_Tallon There was a 6% increase in India (which is about $30 USD). I can't find info on other regions right now though because most of my searches just turn up the PS5 increase now and people wondering if Xbox will go up too.
@rawzeku @brazzios_84 yeah it was due to issues with the engine. Previously it couldn't handle running all of the content simultaneously, so in order for some new stuff to run properly they had to remove older stuff. That way it wouldn't need to split the processing power on the servers between the older and new stuff and could just go to the new stuff.
I commented about it on the live stream too, but this being on Spotify makes it an instant pass from me. I don't want to support that misinformation site.
Presumably it's going to Saber Russia, who recently had Witcher 3 PS5 taken away from them. I think the official reason was because of the quality, and not the war/sanctions. So I wonder how KOTOR fans will feel with the game in the hands of a dev that can't even meet CDPR's "standards".
Hopefully they'll go after retail stores next. Similar 30% is taken out to account for things like shipping and the retail store's cut. If only there were no costs to do business, things could just be cheaper, am I right?
Is the marvel clapperboard even from the same shot or even posted to Instagram or this Twitter guy just added it to make up this rumor? If it's from Instagram, where is the status update like the other two Instagram posts? Also looks strange that the clapperboard photo looks to be much worse quality than the other photos.
@PupTwilight so what you're saying is it is the same then. Death Stranding is already multiplatform. Fallout 76 was added to PS Now after Microsoft's purchase of Bethesda was finalized, and the deals for anything added before then would've been renewed after the acquisition since PS Now/Extra are not for the rest of time (the standard being 18 months).
@thefourfoldroot1 they may not be a beginner to games, but still if a game is too long or difficult they'll just give up on the platinum saying why am I spending so much time on this game, I could be playing other games.
@LazyLombax took me a moment too, it's a bizarrely written article. So basically, in the past a sale on Bethesda games started. Now in the present a totally unrelated sale has begun. So now there are both these games and those Bethesda games on sale.
Honestly, who cares? There's a bunch of Microsoft games on PS+ Extra. If you're against Death Stranding on game pass then you need to be against Fallout, Doom, Prey, etc being on Extra too.
@xDD90x it's the opposite, actually. If it's already selling well, no reason to fix it. That's how CDPR got away with releasing Cyberpunk on a totally broken state, it'd already had massive pre-order sales. They only fixed it because Sony delisted it.
@uptownsoul then how are they still on PS+ Extra? After their PS Now deals expired they would've been removed if not renewed. Sony can't just include games on Extra without a deal with a publisher.
@uptownsoul most, if not all, would've been renegotiated after Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda finalized, unless Bethesda would've signed absurdly long deals, way longer than the normal 18 months. Just off the top of my head, Fallout 76 was even added to PS Now after the acquisition was finalized.
@djhegzy I did the Childe fight back when you couldn't lower world level and I had only leveled the traveller. How I got passed it was by eating a lot of those sweet madame chicken dishes to heal. So just know the fight is possible without playing the game properly to level a competent team.
@charbtronic the ownership of the Spider-Man IP has been clarified some months back. Sony does indeed own the movie rights to Spider-Man, but Marvel actually does own the video game rights.
The reason Spider-Man is exclusive to PlayStation is because Sony funded the game. Marvel approached both Sony and Microsoft on whether they wanted to fund and make a good Spider-Man game (better than what the quality would be if Marvel funded it), Microsoft passed, but Sony took the offer, so they were allowed to make it exclusive because they paid to make the whole game.
I except Wolverine is a similar deal, Sony is funding the game so they get to make it exclusive.
@MaccaMUFC same reason Apple took Epic to court over Fortnite allowing players to make microtransactions outside of the App Store. Sony wouldn't see any money from GamePass since the sign up and payment and everything is done outside of the PSN ecosystem.
Putting it on TVs benefits the TV manufacturer as potential sales over a competition that doesn't have it (until they all do in order to stay competitive). But GamePass isn't going to make people suddenly want to buy a PS5.
To be honest I was hoping this update wouldn't come for quite some time. Thanks to new PS+, I've got so many games in the backlog now, I'd kinda rather use my time to work through those than return to a game I've already played a lot of. I probably need to just never start another live service game ever.
@BartoxTharglod I agree there's nothing inherently wrong with quiz games. I used to like You Don't Know Jack but haven't played one in probably over a decade. But I'm not surprised to hear this one is barely put together. At least you can say you tried it (well, if you want to keep admitting that!).
That's cool they had some interesting facts listed, but I guess you might need to fact check the stuff they had. Pigs don't have two necks, just one. It's just big enough that butchers can divide it in two to get two of the same cut of meat. This seems to be a common misconception online though.
@ATaco True. if anything I'm guessing the click through rate went into the toilet after these garbage games started gaining prominence, which gave Sony a justification to replace the new releases section with a best selling section. Give people quick access to something they're actually clicking on.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's the actual reason for the change, Sony saw people aren't buying that crap compared to when it showed real games, not that they're responding to complaints about the existence of this crap. After all, they have even announced about trying to get engagement numbers back to peak COVID or something or other.
@ATaco showing up first in the store is free marketing though, especially because the PSN blog no longer shows off the new releases each week. Just because they might need additional marketing still to succeed doesn't mean it's ok to remove some of their opportunities to get the game's name out there.
don't list non-crossbuy games are 2 separate games in the store, have it called out in the games listing. This'll cut out almost 50% of the existing spam.
add restrictions for different regions of the same game having different trophy lists. This will remove almost 75% of the revenue for many of these spam games, greatly reducing the incentive to make a spam game.
just straight up ban any dev whose made a copy paste garbageware game. This'll get rid of almost every garbageware dev (maybe all of them actually).
About 80% of my wish list are games that I found on the new releases section of the PS App homepage. Too many clicks now to check what the actual new games are. And you know more casual gamers are never going to know this change happened so will just straight up never see those legit small indies.

I wonder why there wasn't such a strong backlash against Xbox when they increased their price in some regions last month.
