Yeah, I had a couple of conversations with younger passengers and went away impressed by how much they liked Ff16. It was their first FF, though.

No but seriously, that was absolutely terrible! I was staring at the screen like I needed to interpret it as some kind of convoluted homeric translation. So glad it’s been fixed.

@Mikey856 it has always been smooth frame-rate wise, a very stable 60fps, nothing like FFXVI. The game used to get kind of blurry in performance mode (mind you, it took me some time and sitting very close to the tv to notice what many were saying) - now they have introduced a sharp performance mode that addresses this but I would recommend the graphic mode anyway, it looks a lot better (especially the lighting) and flat out incredible at times.

@Martijn87 kind of 😂 but metacritic says hello and it will be a goty contender at the end of the year while safe cash grabs like P3R will be forgotten (unless they manage to somehow irritate the fanbase even more with a “Royal” kind of edition).

I liked Rebirth a lot but it was objectively a very good game, it’s insane how much care they put into it

It’s been a crazy start of the year and I played like 1/3 of what I wanted to.

My two cents: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been a dreamlike experience and I still cannot believe its scope and how meticulously crafted it is.

I, like many, cannot stop playing Balatro and need help.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is adventurous and random and has an opaque quality that makes it incredibly charming.

Persona 3 Reload is unimaginative, incomplete, overpriced and unnecessary. Go with the remaster of P3P! Or at least wait for a sale.

Looking forward to playing Unicorn Overlord and Stellar blade.

I am not in a hurry just make it good 👍🏻

That’s great news and I look forward to getting this! I liked all their games so far but I haven’t LOVED one, this might be it as the demo had its hooks in me.

My personal fave so far is Muramasa Rebirh, a game I wish would see a modern console port

All things considered, I would give it an 8: it might seem high but this actually went a lot below my (admittedly lofty) expectations - I thought this would realize the incredible raw potential of the first game and really blow us all away and become this generation’s TW3.

It’s still VERY absorbing though: If you liked the first one, buy this without minding the discourse about it…the MXT are completely not necessary and the technical problems, while actually serious here, tend to become white noise as you progress. Or at least until you play the Stellar Blade demo for hours and then come back and feel like you are playing a slideshow 😅 then it takes another couple of hours to adjust again

Ah, kombini - one of my favourite places in the world 🍙. I will surely keep this on my radar.

To anyone interested in knowing more about these amazing Japanese shops I recommend the short novel “Convenience Store woman” by Sayaka Murata. It’s really about conformal rules and society expectations but it does offer some views on how kombini really work.

@Voltan thanks! I feel like my mental sanity improved knowing there’s a way out of it LOL. I would just play DD2 and then do a few tries and fail miserably 😅 but all the other quests are progressing.

Oh, that’s way I couldn’t complete that quest! Well, I’m sure they will fix it later on…platinum is definitely on the cards but not in the near future.

I really like Promises to keep. It rubbed me the wrong way when I first heard it outside the game but then the instrumental version hit me and I couldn’t stop humming it for days

@Darude84 though there are some similarities in the setting that are enhanced by the music, the game is very far from Nier in terms of gameplay. This is more like Lies of P or boss fights in GOW (2018).

@pyrrhic_victory love your Roman history user name. Yeah I was wondering about the statue too, seems pontless for like 3 vitcoins. I also found out that when you come close to the first body of water, you can go right and find a rare enemy thingy.

The plan is to get Stellar Blade and the FF16 DLC, then it’s finally time for me to get seriously into a PS5 playthrough of Hi-Fi Rush and/or Unicorn Overlord.

If Sony announces a big Astrobot platformer this will be the best PS year ever for me

Well, for my exploration yes! I made a second play through (very rare for me for a demo) and now I am before the boss grinding enemies for skill points and exploring but I couldn’t find it :/

Guys, any way to unlock the chest you find in the bar? I have managed to unlock the one in the drugstore but I’d love to get this as well.

This is so my kind of thing! Stellar () combat, not too easy but not frustrating and nice polygon models. The only thing I don’t like is the PS360 era brownish palette.

Edit: husband now calls this “the perverted souls-like” but already said he is available for a shared playthrough 🤔

Biggest problem of the game for me is being played after Rebirth where every quest (not the open world stuff) was endearing on some level. I still like the game a lot, though!

@Korgon Agreed. Even the most silly quests give you a worthwhile moment in the game but this was my favourite unexpected quest conclusion 😂

Will surely watch it. Rebirth is the best game I played on PS5 imho. Can’t get enough and thankfully it’s a very generous JRPG serving.

I’ll be honest: If it runs the very majority (90%+) of ps5 games at 4K and 60fps I am willing to spend even 600-700€ on this.

There is a fairly decent PC in this house but most of the times it runs games slightly worse than the Ps5 and for some games like Final Fantasy I don’t even have the option to play them onPC till later on so …yeah, maybe it’s just for some people but I can see this having a market.

On the other hand I am more worried about the extra stress this will put on developers. I remember when FF15, of alll games, had to to do some extra tuning because the release date slipped past the PS4 Pro release date LOL As if it hadn’t already had its fair share of development drama

It is also dubbed in Italian and French, this game has my name on it! Glad to hear is kinda on the “harder” side in terms of difficulty

Thank you for the review - I highly recommend Grandia II to anyone interested in classic JRPGs, it was a cult hit for a reason: it kinda reached FF level of “influential”. Played on DC 🥲 I miss this era so much

@Nepp67 yes I am still unconvinced about the gameplay, cannot really have a clear idea from the video they showed us, but that’s what demos are for!

I am honestly hyped we get a new Devil May Cry kind of game with a female lead, though my reasons may differ from other users’ 😅

Devil May Clive is a solid 8/10 - would play it again at 60fps. Some of the most epic fights I had in a videogame ever.

Honestly didn’t expect it to perform this well - but nice 😊 much more interested in Hi Fi Rush! The only other Xbox studios game I’d consider buying is Forza Horizon, as many have said.

I don’t find this offensive at all, a little bit over the top but it’s not like she is cooking dinner and cleaning for the MC - also we can all have some fun and I am the first one to get a little bit distracted by Ryu’s sweaty winning pose when I play SF6

@Shepherd_Tallon @ceedj I am not even a FF7 hardcore fan but this went above and beyond my (kinda high to be honest) expectations and kind of retroactively made my consideration of P3R really sink. What a remake, what a game!

Chapter 6, I am loving every second, it’s up there with a 9-10, clearing almost everything just because it’s a delight to do it.

I love this kind of structure (way more than the first game) but of course I hope the story bits won’t be disappointing at the end of things
