Re: Gran Turismo 7 Clocks Native 4K/120fps on PS5 Pro Via Game Boost, Pre-Enhanced Patch

@TrickyDicky99 all joking and banter aside I often wonder when reading your comments (a few I've agreed with but not a lot) if you are actually happy with your ps5 because you never appear to be. You think I'm some kind of Sony zealot but I'm not. Sony has done many things I'm not happy with but I won't knock someone or something without good reason and that includes you. You talk about sonys predatory consumerism along with a couple of other posters but you all still buy games and partake in conversations here. If you really were unhappy with Sony you'd have nothing to do with the brand at all unless you are here just to troll others. Anyway I understand your edgy attempt at sarcasm which is why I never really take anything you say too seriously and you've demonstrated you can take some banter too. 👍

@DonkeyFantasy I'm really enjoying gt7 or gt sport directors cut or whatever..its a seriously cool game with a steering wheel and I'm just itching to get my new t598 to use it on. Regardless of whatever you think of this game nobody can dispute its one of the best simcade racers out there..and my stats are not great but the grin factor is off the charts..Happy days unless you skipped this generation 🤣.

Re: Take-Two CEO Says Borderlands Movie Bombing 'Didn't Hurt at All'

Northern_munkey

Nah it won't hurt the games any more than tiny Tina's wonderWTF did (personal opinion.) Nobody expected the movie to be an academy award winner and it was what I expected..a silly sci-fi flick with deliberately hammy acting and decent effects. B-movie classic to go with my star crash, battle beyond the stars and death race 2000 section on my wall of shame..

Re: PS5 Pro Has a Remarkable Impact on Unpatched Games

Northern_munkey

@Savage_Joe indeed. When I built my gaming pc about 12 years ago my friend also went ahead and built one. I went the amd route for cpu and nvidia for gpu. My friend spent a lot more money on his cpu (Intel i5) and was bragging about having 10-15 fps on average with a cpu that cost him over £200..mine cost me about £80. I really couldn't understand his logic. To me it was a clear case of diminishing returns on his outlay. His graphics card was better too.

Re: PS5 Pro Has a Remarkable Impact on Unpatched Games

@Titntin well said mate..I'm getting really hacked off with all the fake outragers lately. If you don't like it don't buy it. If you don't like Sony and think they are guilty of predatory capitalism then bugger off. If you don't like people being happy about their ps5's then why are you here? It's never been a more exciting time to be a PlayStation owner and yet an awful lot of people are moaning about nothing. I'll upgrade to a ps5 Pro next year but I have more important things I need to take care of first as its something I want but don't need just yet.

Re: Metacritic Responds to Ongoing Dragon Age: The Veilguard Review Bombing Campaign

Northern_munkey

@Nem this 100%. I read the reviews on pushsquare but I don't pay attention to what score they give the game because more than a few times they're scores have been stupid to say the least so I read the comments from you guys because that's more important to me when I'm deciding on if I should purchase something. Ultimately I make my own decision regardless of reviews. This review bombing thing is so funny because its so stupid.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Lays the Foundation for a New Modern-Day Narrative

Northern_munkey

I like the actual "historical" parts of the game and not the bits that disconnect you from the game via the animus breaks etc. Why do games that are based in historical eras need a modern narrative? Most of today's modern narratives look to cancel certain aspects of history as if they never happened anyway so that in itself really shows that a modern narrative in the hands of somebody who has a personal agenda is not going to be a "true" representation of the chosen era. The assassins Creed games are not historically accurate but they do try to immerse the gamer in a historically authentic setting and try to provide a interesting story. Let's have an assassins Creed game that is historically accurate, warts and all and that means a real representation of the eras political views and how society actually was without overlooking aspects that may have "out dated views" blah,blah,blah..yeah it won't ever happen.

Re: Assassin's Creed Boss Says Series Is Inherently Diverse, Just Like History

Northern_munkey

@jesse_dylan I agree with you however I think DEI in games sometimes feels a bit false almost as if its there just for the box ticking. I'm not against DEI if it's actually used correctly but unfortunately it's not easy as there are so many aspects to it. For instance when scarlett johansen played the lead character in ghost in the shell there was a massive backlash and screams of cultural appropriation were heard throughout the media. Samuel Jackson played nick fury which in the comics is a white man but that was fine because you know DEI right? A recent TV show had a British monarch portrayed by a woman of colour but that was fine too because of DEI blah, blah, blah. It's something that's very easy to abuse but when it's used in the correct context it is a wonderful thing. Ubisofts claims of historical accuracy is something I always take with a pinch of salt. Yes they have historically correct characters etc but the story's surrounding them are very much works of fiction. At the end of the day it dosnt stop me enjoying the games or the movies but I think there are certain elements out there using the whole DEI thing to further their own agendas.

Re: More People Are Playing the Original Horizon Zero Dawn Than Its Remaster on PC

Northern_munkey

@SuntannedDuck2 @lindos @dark_knightmare2 I see exactly what you guys are getting at here and I understand and respect that because you have not been insulting or disrespectful. However I've played the original HZD on the base ps4 and I played the last few missions on the ps5 and it was a really good game. I'm playing the remaster right now and it's a bit more than a simple remaster as there has been an awful lot of work done and it's a huge improvement over the original release...for £10 if you own the original or got it free its a bargain especially when you look at TLOU remasters and remakes which were well received by the hard-core fans they were aimed at for full price! I'm not a huge fan of remasters but when they are of this quality and have a nice price attached to them I'm more inclined to purchase them. Again I'm not dismissing your opinions but I do think this remaster is getting a lot of unwarranted flak.

Re: All PS5 Pro Enhanced Games

Northern_munkey

There's a fair few games I'm genuinely interested in playing through again on a ps5 Pro (if I actually get one) but the main ones for me are lies of p,lords of the fallen, diablo 4 and gt7. New steering wheel first and then I'll think about a ps5 Pro.

Re: More People Are Playing the Original Horizon Zero Dawn Than Its Remaster on PC

Northern_munkey

@Stale-Bread I'll echo your sentiments about the indie devs. I have to be honest and admit that over the past 3 years or so that I've had my ps5 the games that have impressed me most and given me the most bang for buck have pretty much all been released by indie devs or studios such as the guys that made lies of p and lords of the fallen etc. I'd like more first party games but I'm not about to ditch my ps5 just because there aren't that many at the moment.

Re: More People Are Playing the Original Horizon Zero Dawn Than Its Remaster on PC

Northern_munkey

@get2sammyb I'm really enjoying this remaster. Everything about it is so much better. The new improved graphics are just jaw dropping overall and especially in the cauldrons where that lighting is just some of the best I've seen in any game. The audio is a hell of a lot better as well through my pulse headset. All in all its a stellar remaster and for £10 as well. I wish all remasters followed this pricing structure then they would be welcomed more.
