There's a fair few games I'm genuinely interested in playing through again on a ps5 Pro (if I actually get one) but the main ones for me are lies of p,lords of the fallen, diablo 4 and gt7. New steering wheel first and then I'll think about a ps5 Pro.
@LowDefAl agreed. Its funny how the games that run the best and look awesome at the same time usually use a custom engine. UE5 can look awesome in some games but very lacking in others.
@LowDefAl "The argument for untapped power doesn't hold up." I can get behind this but I'll say that there is certainly a case that some development teams are a lot more proficient at using what the ps5 has under its hood than others. I'm not saying you are wrong..I'm just looking at it from another perspective.
@Cerny well that sucks..I myself am at the same point in the game you appear to be and I've honestly experienced zero issues. Let's see how I fare a bit further down the road.
@Stale-Bread I'll echo your sentiments about the indie devs. I have to be honest and admit that over the past 3 years or so that I've had my ps5 the games that have impressed me most and given me the most bang for buck have pretty much all been released by indie devs or studios such as the guys that made lies of p and lords of the fallen etc. I'd like more first party games but I'm not about to ditch my ps5 just because there aren't that many at the moment.
@Cerny are you playing on the pc? I'm playing the ps5 and I've not had a single crash. There are a few odd moments during dialogue but nothing as game breaking as you have described. If you are playing the pc version then that's pretty bad.
@illegalmonkey oh I'm loving this..I wonder how many others that don't understand what sarcasm is will have something to say..especially when I've stated twice already that I was being SARCASTIC...
@Steel76 I think you need to play it because it's more than just "More grass and Fog." When you actually play it you realise just how impressive this remaster is and this is coming from a guy who really dosnt go much for remasters. And if you say you have played it and you stand by your comment I'll simply tell you to go get your eyes tested because somethings wrong.
@get2sammyb I'm really enjoying this remaster. Everything about it is so much better. The new improved graphics are just jaw dropping overall and especially in the cauldrons where that lighting is just some of the best I've seen in any game. The audio is a hell of a lot better as well through my pulse headset. All in all its a stellar remaster and for Β£10 as well. I wish all remasters followed this pricing structure then they would be welcomed more.
Nothing worth shouting about? (Cue sarcastic tone) I guess the ps5 Pro isn't what it's cracked up to be then. Sony have dropped the ball with this one again π«’ (edited because people are not picking up on the sarcasm.)
@Pepsiman_100 Sony never said the ps5 would improve ps4 games beyond what the ps4 Pro would. Why do people not read or listen to things properly? And if Sony did make this claim about the ps5 please post a link to it.
@ZeroSum I agree. It does look nice though but it just got a bit boring and out stayed its welcome too quickly. I'll grab hot wheels as I enjoyed the first one.
@Judal27 the ps5 plays ps4 games in the pro boosted versions. There may be games that might be enhanced a bit more but as far as I'm aware that's about it.
@BAMozzy don't get me wrong as I enjoy the call of duty games but I'm a bit burned out by them. Also the multiplayers graphics never really seem to improve and they just use the same source engine with a few tweaks here and there. The franchise needs a severe work over.
@BAMozzy yeah thanks for letting me know..its not like I haven't played practically every shooter in the last 30 years or so lol...I really like the older ghost recon games before they became all 3rd person and down with the kids generation. Arma 2 was a bit too hard core for me but was tense and nerve wracking. I did like operation flash point on the pc but the console version was awful. Rainbow six 3 was great but the new siege games just seem to have lost that little thing that made them great. Warzone was a great laugh but what I really want is a new bad company 2 which is my all time favorite online shooter and the campaign was great as well.
@BAMozzy I'm giving cod a miss for a while. I'll keep my eye on warzone to see if it gets anywhere near to how it was originally but they just keep messing around with it and it started to feel like blackout. I just need a really good tactical shooter that takes patience and skill..
HZD remaster for me. I started from scratch and it's bloody good. Everything feels so familiar yet so new and fresh and it's very responsive. Have a great weekend everybody π.
@symmetrian cheers for the info. I'm not a crpg fan really as I much prefer the arpg genre. Once I've wrapped up the HZD remaster and the sequel I might have a punt on dragon age.
@GamingFan4Lyf I never claimed you were. I'm trying to get my head around what you are saying whilst at the same time trying to work out exactly what it is you are saying. Would you agree that if you bought a couple of devs and put a tonne of cash into them but got nothing back except a humongous loss that you would decide to close them? Or would you continue to pump cash into them hoping for some miraculous turn around? What would you do?
@GamingFan4Lyf nixxes and guerilla games make stellar products that sell by the bucket loads though. The 2 studios shut down by Sony were not making money so I can see why they closed them. Its a business decision and nothing nefarious.
"Itβs also challenged by all other forms of entertainment, such as Netflix et al." How exactly? Sony allow netflix on the ps5 so I'm not sure how netflix and prime tv etc challenge Sony at all? Unless you mean the awful video games netflix have? Not seeing this at all.
My take on this is that the CWA are saying Sony bought a company(s) that previously made mobile games then shuttered them so they can't make mobile games which would compete against Sony who ironically don't make mobile games thus reducing the mobile games market. So the CWA are against Sony supposedly creating a monopoly but supported microsoft/activsion/blizzard (I don't even know what to call them anymore) which for a while there looked liked being the biggest monopoly in the video game industry? I need to sit down with a cuppa.
@LavenderShroud @Hairy_Potter @ecurb7 finally common sense prevails. I'm happy with my ps5 as it is at the moment and I'll upgrade to a ps5 Pro when I feel the need. I wonder how many of the negative commentators here are actually happy but are just being negative to fit in with the herd? If you are not happy with how things are then it's time to find something else to do that makes you happy..unless your new hobby has multiple tier pricing that are predatory and anti-consumer..Good luckπ
@Deljo for me the ps3 was the biggest disappointment personally. It was a powerful machine but was notoriously difficult to get to grips with. The games had some of the worst performing games I've played (dragons dogma, bayonetta etc) and the only reason I bought one was because the xbox 360 just kept red ring of deathing me. Saying that I did enjoy myself with the uncharted games and kill zone 2 and 3. Ultimately I switched to pc gaming for a few years until I bought a ps4 to play friends online with which is probably sonys best gen so far.
So many unhappy ps5 owners. Why don't you all sell them or donate them to people that actually want one but can't afford one etc. It's not sonys worst console generation but it's definitely got the worst community I've seen in a long time.
@LifeGirl biggest failure yes but the worst game of all time? You have seen that pink woman with a gun game yes? Concord is a massive failure granted but there are literally hundreds of worse games out there.
@Flaming_Kaiser I agree. The whole thing about this game is the exploration and it's done incredibly well. It took me forever to get into the game first time round and I didn't really start playing it until it was given away free with the expansion and by the time the ps5 released I had already moved on to other games but nows the time to play it again and it's just stunning. Are you playing the remaster?
@Loamy you've hit the nail on the head. I love the way there is zero hand holding in dd2. I love the way that the fast travel takes a little while to get going too. Its got so much content in it and so many secrets that one play through is never going to be enough to see everything on offer. It's definitely a marmite game for sure but it's a game that's going to be over looked by casual gamers but that's the thing..its not aimed at them
@MrPeanutbutterz did I say it was perfect? I understand that people have different experiences on this games performance and personally my opinion is that its all a bit over exaggerated. I understand what VRR's limitations are and that it's not a miracle cure for all of the games ills but it sure helps out. I'm interested as to why so many people have such bad experiences with this game as I've had a few myself but nothing game breaking. The lords of the fallen was another game that was reported on a daily basis as to having performance issues and again I felt those issues were blown out of proportion. I'm sorry to hear you didn't have a good time with dd2 and maybe the ps5 Pro will help iron out your issues with other games too π
@Rich33 I've never encountered anything as bad as you have. Like I've said it's not perfect and still needs some tlc but it's perfectly playable as is.
@Rich33 "I played the demo not too long ago and the framerate was a complete dumpster fire (and thats being kind imo)." I've been playing dd2 since launch and the framerate whilst admittedly not brilliant has never been a "dumpster fire" as you described it. I'm not sure what was wrong with the demo as I never tried it but maybe it was an older build? The games not perfect in any stretch and I'll never say it is but a lot of the issues have been massively exaggerated even by the gamers that play it. I have a decent TV with ALLM and VRR so maybe that helps with the framerate a little? Apparently it runs even better after the latest update but I have yet to try it out mainly because I'm playingvthrough the HZD remaster.

@Majin_Deicide first off it's barely not barley..secondly sarcasm is wasted here as I've already proven..

@EfYI so you are admitting freely to pirating games or at the very least endorsing such nefarious practices? Well done sir π

@Sanctanox I was being sarcastic ffs..I was taking the proverbial out of all the ps5 Pro knockers whilst I had chance..
