@Nepp67 I enjoyed the first Hypertube, I wasn’t a fan of the second, but admittedly that’s because I really sucked at it. The elevator was a huge highlight for me, that mission was great.
I beat Stellar Blade this weekend, played some Astro’s Playroom, and I jumped back into FFVII Rebirth for a bit. Most of my game time this weekend was spent on Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. I wasn’t going to get it but I was between games and had a weekend all to myself so I decided why not. It’s punishing, brutal, and phenomenal.
@J2theEzzo I basically lived off of markers when I was playing it but I know I still missed a ton. That’s one thing I love about that game though, for as much as I’m sure I missed, I don’t feel like I missed anything, I still felt like I had a full experience.
@J2theEzzo thanks for the reply, that’s good to know. Like I said, I’ve never fought him before because I just fought anyone I came across organically through exploration, I didn’t want to specifically look things up. I had read somewhere recently that Mohg is tough to get to and a pretty hard fight, but that’s good to hear, especially if I eventually decide to grab this.
@Kraven it really is, and to an extent, I get it. They thrive on making games that are tough and not meant for everyone, but it would be great to be able to just jump right into a DOC/expansion without having to take down a couple of tough bosses first.
@Kraven that’s where I’m at with it too. I’m excited it’s as good as it is for everyone (not that I’m surprised), but I haven’t played it since I beat it at release and I don’t think I beat Mohg, so to go back, relearn the game, and fight him just sounds daunting. Not to mention, I don’t have the time to sink 30+ hours into this, unless I’m sacrificing other games I’d rather play more.
@Johnnycide My Friend of Misery, you mustn’t fret, you may draw the Shortest Straw with poor Battery life, but situation is in the Eye of the Beholder. Although it’s Sad But True, it can leave you Broken, Beat & Scarred, but it could also be the Day That Never Comes, either could be a Merciful Fate. Either Seek and Destroy your enemies because it’s Killing Time or Jump in the Fire because it’s the End of the Line!
@FinneasGH when my daughter was 2.5 years old, on vacation she would only take a nap if I put on Master of Puppets for her and pushed her on the swing. She’d be half asleep and throwing a tiny fist in the air every time James said, “Master.” 🤣
@belmont I’ll get back to it eventually but I stopped 40 hours in because I got so sick of mini games. I must have stopped before that one because it doesn’t sound familiar.
@Blaze215 I’m right there with you. I get so worn out so quick with most open world games because I want to do everything but then it becomes a chore. I’d rather a concise 15 hour game than a bloated 100 hour game any day. I loved Remake and want to love Rebirth but just can’t.
On Steam Deck I fired up my favorite game of all time, Nier Automata. Besides that, my son and I jumped into Hypercharge Unboxed and I’m continuing my journey through Stellar Blade.
@Titntin it’s such a shame. I wanted to love that game so badly, but just couldn’t. Every time I started to really enjoy myself they threw a forced mini-game at me. The GS Chocobo race was one of the least egregious of the mini-games, that was far better than having to play Rocket League as Red XIII to get coupons for clothes. I’ll go back to it eventually but I needed a break, I just wasn’t enjoying myself.
I couldn’t care less about a photo mode, but that would be great for those who want it, the perverts would have an especially fun time with it though! All jokes aside, I’d be cool with a DLC announcement.
@IamJT I completely agree. I understand why 2 is looked at as the worst, though I personally enjoyed it, but I don’t understand the Infinite hatred, I adored that game.
@nomither6 I have to respectfully disagree. I love Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. I can understand why most people didn’t like 2, but I didn’t hate it like most and I think the combat was a lot of fun in it. Bioshock is a masterpiece of a game, so I have no arguments there. I personally loved Infinite, I thought the story was really good, the lore was interesting, and the gameplay loop was a ton of fun. Also, in my opinion, the Burial at Sea DLC is single-handedly the best piece of DLC I’ve ever played.
If you’d asked me years ago I’d have hoped for another Borderlands and Bioshock, but the Pre-Sequel was awful and I was severely disappointed in B3. Granted, I didn’t expect any to live up to B2 since it’s one of my all-time favorite games, but I expected far better. Bioshock on the other hand is still one of the greatest series ever made and I will gladly welcome the official announcement of the Antarctica Bioshock game.
@Martijn87 it’s also worth getting A-E because the game does change with each play through, so you aren’t completely playing the same thing five times. I NEVER replay a game right after beating it the first time. I beat it all five times back to back and was sad there wasn’t more.

This is my current game of the year, I had such a blast playing it.
Re: Astro Bot PS5 Took 60 Developers Around Three Years to Make
@Ainu20 don’t forget, Astro is also perfect for all ages! I completely agree, Astro is a great mascot for PlayStation.

@colonelkilgore fantastic choices. Enslaved is such an underrated game and Strange Brigade is just a solid, good time.
Re: Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Is the Highest-Rated DLC of All Time
@J2theEzzo it’s truly the best I’ve seen open world done. I never felt bogged down or overwhelmed, it was all just up to me.

@Kidfunkadelic83 it’s sad really, Tango certainly had the potential to make the dough.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 533
I’m continuing my journey through Stellar Blade, I’ve reached the first point of no return but I still have a few open side quests to do first.

@Weebleman this comment made me laugh harder than it should have
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest and Its Surrounding Shows as a Whole?
If it weren’t for Xbox’s showcase and Astro I’d have said it was pretty disappointing.

@SystemAddict all while the top players Kill ‘em All.
(Very well played.)

There has only been two times I’ve been interested in Fornite, when they brought the Kelsier from Mistborn skin to it and now this…
Re: Preview: Astro Bot on PS5 Could Be the Best 3D Platformer This Side of Nintendo
This is definitely one of my most anticipated games. Playroom is still one of my favorite PS5 games, so I have such high hopes for this.
Re: Forget About the Cheesy Reveal Trailer with 20 Mins of Dragon Age: The Veilguard Gameplay
It looks better than the reveal trailer but, honestly, still not that great.
Re: Star Wars Outlaws Demos Out of This Galaxy PS5 Gameplay
I really wasn’t expecting this game to look this fun, I went from thinking I’ll grab it eventually to possibly grabbing it day one.
Re: Poll: Was Summer Game Fest 2024 Great or a Letdown?
Not a ton there for me but the Alan Wake 2 expansion completely sold me. Power Rangers looks great too.
Re: Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Now Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Full Gameplay Reveal Next Week
Dreadwolf was so much better of a name
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your PS5 Predictions for Summer Game Fest 2024?
They’ll announce a bunch of new Xbox games inbound 😂
Re: Poll: Are You Hyped for Summer Game Fest 2024?
Since we don’t have E3 it’s the next best thing, I guess.

Does the update remove the mandatory mini games?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 531
@Blaze215 I could deal with the open world checklist, it was the endless bloat of mandatory mini games that completely killed my enjoyment of Rebirth.

Re: Dynasty Warriors Origins Could Be the Comeback Fans Have Been Waiting For on PS5
Musou is one of those genres that I wish I liked but every time I play one I get so bored. Maybe one day one will click with me.
Re: Latest State of Play Is One of the Worst-Received PS5 Shows Yet
It had Astro Bot which was the only thing I cared to see, so I was content with it. The rest of the games aren’t really for me anyways.
Re: Concord Is Sony's Answer to Overwatch, Launches August, Beta Test in July
I’ve been wanting Sony to return to the FPS genre for years, this was NOT what I had in mind.

@QiaraIris that’s great to hear, thanks!
Re: PS5 Platformer Astro Bot Will Have 80 Action-Packed Levels
This was easily my highlight of the showcase, I’m really excited for this.
Re: Open World Martial Arts RPG Where Winds Meet Announced for PS5
This looks really cool but I hope the entire game isn’t just 1v1 or a boss rush game like the video made it seem.
Re: Conscript Musters Retro WW1 Survival Horror for PS5, PS4
Might have to get this on Steam Deck, I’m loving the esthetic and art direction of it.

I beat Hellblade 2 Friday night, that’s likely my only game time this weekend since the family and I went up to Maine for the weekend.
Re: Millennials Must Gather Caring Energy in Care Bears: To the Rescue on PS5

GoW (2018) would be my number one, followed by GoW3
