@Boucho11 it’s definitely worth picking it up. It’s much more accessible than any of the others in the genre, because if you get stuck you can leave and come back later. There’s some tough bosses and areas, but the open world format works really well with it. I know people who refused to ever play a Soulsborne game, but decided to grab this and loved it. I’ve played every Fromsoft Soulsborne game and most knockoffs, this was EASILY my favorite in the genre.
@Postie85 fair enough. Don’t worry, I’m an expert at funny in my head not so much with my audience. One day my wife will laugh at one of my jokes, one day. 😂
@Postie85 I absolutely loved the original, I still own it on PS3, but I see no need for a remake of a game that’s less than a decade old and already had a remaster, especially one that still plays so well. Just like others are said, I came to cast my vote, because that’s the purpose of polls. If they didn’t want an honest polling, they’d only have the top three options of the poll.
@PenguinLtd it’s a fantastic game. There are some tougher parts, especially the final boss, but it was easily in my top three games last year. The game play is so good, the puzzles can be challenging, but never too challenging and the art and sound are incredible.
E3 was my Super Bowl. My wife is super excited for the Super Bowl every year, unlike me, I saved my excitement for E3. I know it’s kind of a dying brand but I always looked forward to it regardless. There was just always something special about watching it with friends or texting them every time something exciting dropped or every time we wanted to make fun of something. I truly miss it.
I kept expectations low, so I felt it delivered. Most of it wasn’t for me, but The Callisto Protocol and FFXVI were more than enough for me to be hyped.
I was already sold on this, but this solidified which system I’d be grabbing it for. I was hoping they’d add things like this, I’m glad they didn’t disappoint.
I am not really a Kojima fan at all and I thought this game looked terrible, I decided to give it a try when it came out for PS5 and I’m so glad I did. It is one of the most original games I’ve ever played. My initial reaction was completely wrong. Though, I’m not convinced it needed a sequel.
@Korgon that’s exactly why I grabbed it. We’re on chapter 10 in the board game but it’s so tough to get it to the table. This helps scratch that itch. Plus no setup and I can play it solo.
@Korgon it’s on PC and plays pretty well. I think you’ll like it if you liked the tabletop version, it’s obviously not as good, but it’s a great substitute.
Now that I beat Elden Ring, I decided to go for a throw back, I’m currently playing Lost Odyssey. Although it feels like a product of its era, I’m really enjoying it so far.
Not really a month for me, but it is a solid month. I might give Tribes of Midgard a try. I couldn’t care less about FIFA, but I’m sure that one will excite people, so I’m happy for them.
@ATaco you said it perfectly. They used to be my favorite developers and I’d almost always buy what they put out. Now, I barely even look at a game if their name is on it.
I love PlayStation, but Sony can’t seem to get out of their own way lately, it’s always one step forward two steps back. I expect that everything fans expect to see won’t be seen. I hope I’m wrong and they nail this, but I have low expectations.
Quite easily Elden Ring for me. I loved HFW, but I’m glad I played it before Elden Ring, because Elden Ring set a new standard on how open world games should be done, in my opinion.
@Perturbator thank you for being the voice of reason. I see all of these articles and comments saying “Sony should buy this or that,” and same with MS (never about Tencent 🤣), but fans don’t “win” with these acquisitions, the companies do. Sure, some of these studios get a bigger budget because of the acquisitions, but most of the time they don’t need it. I’d rather see Sony and MS put this money towards new studios or show support to indie devs, not buyout studios that really don’t need it and then become locked behind a single console. I just wish all of the companies would slow down with these acquisitions.
Edit: I completely understand it from the business side of things, but I’m not a business, I’m a consumer, this doesn’t help me.
I took my son to see it on Saturday and we both loved it. The theater was packed and erupting like we were watching a Star Wars or Avengers movie, it was unexpected, but added to the fun of the movie.
I really enjoyed Borderlands, Borderlands 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, but the series has gone down hill from there. The Pre Sequel wasn’t great at all and 3 was huge disappoint. I’m reluctant to get this because of that.
@lolwhatno I thought it looked horrendous and I’m not a big Kojima fan, but I decided to grab it when it was on sale, it is a fantastic game, that deserved the hype more than I gave it credit for. It is far different than anything else I’ve played. I think it’s worth a try.
I have four more missions and then I’m on to Elden Ring. I was way too excited about this to stop playing it for something else before finishing the story.
@supergurr that’s why it’s the only one I’m really interested in. I’ve heard good things, but never felt compelled enough to buy it, I’ll definitely give it a try now though.
As someone who doesn’t really play multiplayer it’s a pretty lackluster month for me. Honestly, it’s a pretty good month, it’s just not aimed towards me.

Day one for me. I haven’t watched a single video on it and don’t plan to, I can’t wait to go in blind with this one.

Re: Mini Review: Super Perils of Baking (PS5) - Charming Old School Platformer Rises to the Occasion
Fantastic review, 10/10.
@Quadalog gotta love the pettiness of some big companies out there. Oh well, their loss is our gain as LSM is fantastic.

Re: Talking Point: What PS Plus Games for PS5, PS4 in June 2022 Do You Want?
@freddquadros a game that is well worth the purchase, especially if you can get it at a sale price. Easily in my top 3 of all time, if not number 1.

Phenomenal game, easily one of the best stories I’ve ever played in a game.

Some Elden Ring on Xbox and Nobody Saves the World on Switch… Sorry PlayStation

Elden Ring and a bunch of games with my son!

I’m going to take my son to theater next weekend to see this, then lunch and a playground. I’m looking forward to spending the day with just him.
Re: Talking Point: What PS1, PS2, and PSP Games Do You Want on PS Plus Premium?
@get2sammyb you can’t be disappointed if you already have low expectations from Sony. I love PlayStation, but they make strange choices.
Re: Talking Point: What PS1, PS2, and PSP Games Do You Want on PS Plus Premium?
Brave Fencer Musashi, Lunar and Soul Reaver will be enough to get me to join.
Re: PS Plus Premium Brings PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP Games to PS5, PS4
Brave Fencer Musashi and Soul Reaver are all I care about!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Horizon Forbidden West?
The gameplay is better than the first, but I haven’t gotten far enough into the story to have a solid opinion on that yet.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend - Issue 415
Horizon Forbidden West still. I’m so hooked on this game.
