@dschons I didn’t mind the loot of Nioh, but they could have toned it down a good amount, I felt I was picking up new gear after every kill. On paper, Sekiro was everything I wanted in a Souls game, execution wasn’t at all for me.
@dschons I’m glad I’m not alone on this. I played the demo for over an hour and it just wasn’t doing it for me. I wanted to love it like I did Nioh, but I really didn’t enjoy it, it felt more like Sekiro, which I wasn’t a fan of either.
@SinfulDestroyer I really enjoy FromSoftware and Koei Techmo’s but the genre is really over done at this point. I feel like everyone is making them now.
@colonelkilgore I played this because of Game Pass. I never once had any interest in these sim games, but I kept hearing great things about this and I figured it’s on the service I might as well try it. That game is absurdly relaxing and addictive, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
I’m really looking forward to this one. Sure, the meme worthy dialogue has a chance of being terrible from what we’ve seen, but the gameplay looks fantastic. I care more about my games being fun than anything else.
@Ravix in most cases back in the day, yes they were level, but not all. Going all the way back to Atari 7800 there were off set directionals and face buttons. Sure they were the minority, but they did exist. Even the N64 which popularized the analog stick was offset from the face buttons.
I just personally find it more comfortable and find it feels more natural for me. There’s plenty of modern action games that utilize face buttons as main attacks, along with having the camera still attached to the right stick. I’ve played some of those games on both consoles and found Xbox’s offset to fit my preferences far better.
@Beerheadgamer82 I hear you. I was gaming in the 90’s too, but for whatever reason the offset just feels more natural to me. I can’t say that’d be the case if PlayStation decided to up and change it one day, but between Xbox and PlayStation’s layout I’ve always felt Xbox was better for me, especially for FPS. With that said, the DualSense is far more comfortable than any other PlayStation controller they’ve had, so I definitely think they’re doing the right thing for their system as of late.
@somnambulance I couldn’t agree more. My son and I are just about done with TMNT together and I’ve adored every second of it. We’ve also played a ton of different games thanks to Game Pass. I’ve been introducing him to games I used to love and have been having a blast watching him play them, I don’t normally enjoy watching other people game, but it’s different with him.
@Lup I agree with you outside of Elden Ring, which I just adore how they handled open world, the combat of Nioh absolutely beats anything FromSoftware puts out.
9/10 for me, it’d be a 10 but occasionally the controls are a bit wonky and there’s some odd difficulty spikes. Other than those minor gripes it’s fantastic.
I’m ok with them denying it, I do t need yet another cookie cutter, fetch quest, tower climber. I used to adore Ubi, but they’ve gone really far downhill for me. The last truly unique game they’ve done was Child of Light, but I see no sign of ever getting a sequel to it.
@KidBoruto thanks, I’ll definitely be checking those out. I’m always down for more The Expanse.
Unfortunately, if you couldn’t get into GoT then this might not be for you. It’s extremely heavy on politics and intrigue. There’s a lot of back and forth between factions. It eventually branches out from there to much bigger things, but the politics and back stabbing is always there.
@KidBoruto I personally was into right away, but it really starts to pick up mid-season. Once plot lines start coming together and characters start meeting one another the series starts having a space GoT vibe like Pegasus said. I’ve always equated it to GoT in space. I highly recommend trying out the first full season, if you don’t like it by the end of that it’s not for you. Though season three’s finale is one of the most intense episodes of a show I’ve seen, so I can’t recommend it enough. I haven’t read the graphic novels, honestly, I didn’t even know there were any. I’ll have to check them out now.
@TaterSlap69 I’m right there with you, it was absolutely incredible. I finished it started telling everyone I knew they needed to watch it … Yup, I’m that guy, I can live with that lot in life for The Expanse.
It certainly doesn’t look like it plays as well as Black Myth, but I like the blend of technology. It was giving me Enslaved Journey to the West vibes, which I’m always open to. I’ll keep it on my radar.
@Ward_ting I wasn’t a fan of how gratuitous it was either. It’s one of my favorite games of all time, but I could have done without the over the top over-sexualization of the characters. I even deleted the demo just because of the really odd shot of her butt that left nothing to the imagination. I almost didn’t even play the game, though I’m glad I did.
@themightyant I got through all of the play throughs in about 30-35 hours. I said there was no way I’d play it that much, but I was too in love not to go through all of them. Each play through is quicker than the last and adds enough differences that they are absolutely worth going through.
I was never planning on buying this, but the video just confirmed I have no need for it. The graphics look gorgeous and I like the idea of the controller haptics, but neither of those things are good enough for me to rebuy the game. Honestly, the absolute best art of this, to me, is the game assist features they added. I don’t need any of them, but there are plenty of people out there who do who can now enjoy this game thanks to those features. This was never meant for to begin with, but for all those who are excited for it, enjoy!
This looks fantastic, I’ll definitely be giving it a go. I couldn’t help but smile at the charm of it, especially when the sprites were in the water and spinning as they went down the river. Games don’t seem to have that charm nearly as much these days.
@BlaBlaBla sadly, I think you’re right that the memory card pricing put a ton of people off of it, which is a shame considering there’s some fantastic games on the Vita. I’m not much of an online player but I played the hell out of this online. I was on third shift when I started dating my wife so my sleep cycle was a mess, I’d always bring my Vita with me to play some matches when I inevitably couldn’t sleep.
@KidBoruto I just played the original for the first time about a month ago and it was fantastic. I’m already sold on this one, but want everything to be completely fresh.

@Mauzuri seriously! I can’t believe how many farm games there were.
Re: Rumour: Lower Your Expectations for Tonight's State of Play
They were already pretty low, so I don’t think I can go much lower. I’m still looking forward to it, but I didn’t expect anything big.

I was obsessed with this game, I can’t wait for this release.
Re: Captain America, Black Panther Title Revealed Without a Name
That trailer felt more like an Indiana Jones trailer than Cap and Black Panther, but I’m certainly intrigued.

Glad to see they put the analog sticks in their proper places. 😉

It’ll still do quite fine, Sonic sells and it’s not a PlayStation exclusive. It might take a hit on PlayStation, but I doubt it’ll hurt it that much.
