Good call. I don’t have anything against Microsoft/Xbox, but I highly doubt they would’ve achieved what Sony have with the IP.

Impressive for such a mediocre movie. I thought it was OK at best. The games, on the other hand, are fantastic.

@sword_9mm That’s what I would recommend, yes. The DLCs are essentially an extension of the end-game content called Chaos Chamber. You’re running through the same dungeon over and over. Zero story content.

I’m incredibly disappointed in the DLCs. I bought the deluxe edition because past Borderlands DLCs have been some of the best. This time though it’s just a massive repetitive grind fest, steer clear folks.

@NEStalgia You’re probably right and yes it is indeed sad. I think Nintendo is killing it on both “sides” because their brand doesn’t carry the same stigma, as you say. In my country even the older generation knows Nintendo and usually associates them with family games. Fun for all ages. They fondly remembers giving their kids Game Boys for Christmas and whatnot.

Xbox and PS does not carry the same associations here. Non-gamers think of them as gaming PCs for the TV, essentially.

Finally! I’ve been waiting for this. I think Origins will suit me even better than Odyssey.

@Netret0120 Same here! Although it hasn’t been that hard to get ahold of one here. I’ve actually had 6 units in total, I was on a quest to get one without coil whine. Alas, that never happened, but my current one is fully acceptable. I can’t hear it over normal volume.

Of course it’s stock related. But still, it really puts into perspective how bad the stock issue is for Sony. They’re clearly having a hard time, sucks for all the folks out there who haven’t gotten the chance to buy one yet.

Well yes and no. Already stocked up on premium but from what we’ve seen so far it seems the service is more geared toward new PlayStation gamers. I hope we’ll see third party titles day one at some point!

That’s a nice surprise! I, for one, enjoy many of Ubisoft’s titles despite their flaws.

Couldn’t care less, but I can imagine it blows for all trophy hunter out there.

A good start! Nothing particularly exciting for me, except for a few titles like Returnal that I haven’t already played.

Nevertheless, it’s not a bad first selection of games.

I poured at least 200 hours into Genshin Impact but ultimately decided to put it down. Not necessarily because I got bored but live service games are too time consuming. I want to enjoy other games, too.

@Shigurui That’s great, man! I still have a hard time adjusting to 30 fps. Before I went “full console” I was your typical PC gamer. Spending astronomical sums on my rig, only to salivate over my own benchmarks… at that point I decided it was time to quit cold turkey.

@Shigurui Ah, Quantum Break. Underrated game! I thought it was great. It’s actually one of very few games I completed on XSX despite only running in 30 fps.

PS5: Demon’s Souls NG+ run while waiting for Dark Souls: Remastered and Dark Souls 3 to go on sale.

XSX: Code Vein. I’m having a surprisingly good time with it. A little much Japanese fan service for my taste but I can stomach that. I’ll also be continuing my Trek to Yomi playthrough.

Probably a day one purchase for me, unless something drastic happens and it gets abysmal review scores.

Good to see GTA5 still kickin’ it.

@twitchtvpat Precisely. That means Square Enix knows what it takes to create new successful live service games for Sony. Square also have mobile games so I think they can contribute on that department, too.

PS5: More Demon’s Souls, nearing the end now, fantastic game really. Seriously considering picking up Dark Souls: Remastered next.

XSX: Trek to Yomi and Lost in Random. About to wrap things up here, too. Unique game, definitely enjoyable.

Thinking about picking up Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. I was an avid D2 fan for quite some time but ultimately decided to drop it completely. I wonder if it’s possible to just jump back in only for the campaign? Heard some really good stuff about the latest expansion.

Sure, it wouldn’t surprise me. A logical acquisition.

But I fear with Sony’s recent push into the live service market, they’re going to turn Square into a live service game company. Possibly even mobile gaming given its extreme profitability.

@Apfelschteiner Good call, my recommendation is to wait for a deeper discount. The game was okay, but nothing sort of amazing. I think PushSquare’s review was pretty much spot on.

@GorosBat @velio84 This is why I don’t go for platinum unless it’s within reasonable reach. A game with loads of collectibles and low replayability is an immediate no-go for me. Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll be playing this game when premium arrives.

I’ve done this mistake before, and all it does for me is to leave a bitter aftertaste. That’s not how I want to remember an otherwise fantastic game.

No, personally I am not happy. But in all fairness, this time it isn’t a crap selection.

I just completed Remnant: From the Ashes on XSX. Lots of fun, although quite challenging at times especially on hard.

This weekend my main focus will be on Demon’s Souls. Picked it up brand-new for just $15. Really excited to dive in!

Got to admit it is kind of a letdown. I always thought when VRR finally arrives it’ll be like XSX. But all in all I’m happy PS5 finally got some of that VRR ‘magic’.

It’s a solid selection for a lot of people I think, but for me there’s nothing.

I just hope it’s all worth it. It worries me that we’ve yet to see the actual lineup of games, both current games and old classics.

Ubi gets a lot of crap for their open-world formula but for me it’s like hitting McDonald’s. You know exactly what you’re gonna get and even so you’re still likely to come back again for more at some point!

I completed Odyssey on XSX quite recently as well and I am now patiently waiting for that sweet 60 fps patch for Origins that Ubisoft promised us.

PS5: Outer Wilds and some Genshin Impact dailies.
XSX: Lost in Random as well as finishing up the last bits of The Division 1. After that I will resume my journey through Witcher 3.

I recently completed Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. PushSquare's review was spot on in my opinion, 6/10. It was okay, but I was honestly expecting some else from this "new" IP. In the end it was just a fat-trimmed Tiny Tina-skinned version of Borderlands 3. Not necessarily a bad thing but I was just under the impression it was going to be different.

Easy choice, Elden Ring. Extremely strong GOTY contender for me.

HFW was amazing too, but admittedly I liked Zero Dawn better.

I’m on a 1Gbps connection but I’m actually considering downgrading to 500-600Mbps since you can’t really hit 1Gbps on either console. Only when downloading on my PC I can actually reach that.

@dimi Thanks. I figured that was the case. I was mostly interested in pushing my PS5 even further in terms on loading times, just for fun really.

You do make a good point regarding the new subscription service, the extra storage could come in handy.

Never had a problem with the storage but that’s because some games I play on XSX and others on PS5. Alongside that I’m blessed with a lighting fast internet connection.

Does anyone know if any of these SSDs are faster than the internal one? Right now I don’t need the extra storage but if they can provide even faster loading times I’m all for it.

I played it in a somewhat “unplayable” state and still enjoyed myself plenty.

CDPR put an incredible amount of detail into their games. I like that. But I understand it’s not for everyone, much like Witcher 3, Cyberpunk featured a truckload of dialogue.

Cyberpunk 2077 was definitely a slow starter which is problematic I think, because a lot of people will lose interest before actually getting to know the game.

I will probably revisit the game when the new content arrives.

I’ll consider getting the black one to match my Xbox Series X next to it. But the official plates have yet to reach my country.

While I’m not too keen on the DualSense (strictly for ergonomical reasons, it just doesn’t fit my hands, cramping like a bitch after just a few hours of usage unfortunately), I’m really impressed with its features. I think it is a real shame very few developers use them to their full potential. Much like the DualShock 4.

@LN78 Not really, apart from two hard crashes (couldn’t wake up the console from rest mode when I left HFW open, had to pull the plug essentially). Completed most of them game on the Day One patch.

Glad I didn’t wait. My top concern was the shimmering issues in performance mode. They still haven’t fixed that, just blurred the picture to make it less visible.

Looking forward to it. Enjoying Witcher 3. Started playing it for the first time quite recently. What a masterpiece.

It still holds up very well after all these years, eager to see what the next-gen patch will bring to the table.
