@Xenomorph_79 I have never bought anything from Game or its French equivalent Micromania. I knew they sucked, but I never expected it was this bad. Fingers crossed you and others will get a refund soon.
@Xenomorph_79 And you are absolutely right to do so. This is unacceptable from Game and hopefully they will refund you. If you ordered online, you have 14 days to return a product even if it isn't faulty. Maybe there is a useful contact on the government website that could advise you or speed things up and force Game to stick to the law.
@Xenomorph_79 This is one of the reasons I mostly buy from Amazon (even if it is sometimes seen as evil incarnate). At least you can return it for free without any problem.
I haven't bought it, but I would always ask for a refund if possible for a broken game, even if it's just to buy it cheaper at a later date or on a different platform.
I actually finished it yesterday. This game looks, runs, plays and sounds like a dream, even if it's a horrible dream filled with mushroom filled humans who are slightly more aggressive than the ones around us with the pandemic.
Hype + expectations is never followed by positive comments. I haven't experienced a single crash or lag on this game, but that's probably because I haven't bought it yet. I'll stick to my guns and play the seemingly infinite amount of games on my backlog and wishlist until the PS5 is fixed and available and cyberpunk is playable without fear of random crashes
How to ensure the worst game launch: Step 1: have a lot of money invested in the game Step 2: have short deadlines with no room for errors Step 3: have even more money injected into the marketing campaign and start it way before the game is even playable Step 4: decide to release the game regardless of its state desperately before Christmas
Note that all this is also valid for a console launch (looking at you PS5)
All the technical possibilities? Like not crashing? I'll probably end up waiting for a 2TB PS5 and the GOTY version of this game, so it'll be fully patched by the time I play it.
I believe a free demo is the only way to regain people's trust. I'm not getting this on PS4 Pro anyway.
I guess fixing the game eventually is better than many other devs who never fixed their game, but kept re-releasing it with a trillion bugs (looking at you Bethesda). Why can't they just release a finished product instead of fixing it after launch? People would have been ok waiting an extra 2 month on PS4 if it was for good reasons.
This is the sad state of the gaming industry: release a game in pre-alpha version without calling "early access" or "crowdfunding" and try to fix it before a class action lawsuit.
It seems like it was revealed so long ago. I gave up on seeing it ever released. At least we know it will be released several years before the end of the pandemic (if not decades)
We live in the era of unfinished games. To fully enjoy a game, you need to wait for it to be fixed. Then you need to wait for DLCs if you want the full game. So you might as well wait for a discount on the whole package. Discount all the way!
Sounds like people are discovering what it feels like to play a Switch port or a recent game. Some games are just not meant to be played on slower hardware. This should have been high end pc/new gen only. This is disappointing for a CDPR game
That's what you get for being lucky enough to find a PS5! It seems like everything is wrong with this console launch. Hopefully they'll fix all of it soon, so I can finally look forward to getting one
Comparing pre-orders to the biggest Rockstar game ever really is mind-blowing. I'm glad CDPR is doing well and hopefully we won't learn about employee being treated as slaves later on.
I really hate all those leaks happening in recent years. We can't ever get surprised with official announcements anymore. It's just like "oh... Ok, I guess it's confirmed now..."
@eee games are usually released unfinished because fans can't accept a delay to have a good product. They all use the covid excuse to have time to finish the game, and for once I hope this trend to delay-until-finished will continue after the pandemic (which will probably never end)
@Cheems I only played the royal edition, and it sucks. So many issues, like messy combat, a horrible second half, useless DLCs and countless problems you wouldn't even see in a game from the early 2000.
@Justifier The project should have been rebooted properly and get a new deadline or cancelled. I mean, EA chose to murder a Franchise instead of trying to limit damages.
Edit: come to think of it, there are games that were almost a decade in the making and still sucked, like FFXV or diablo 3 (when it was released)
Between Evil Abstergo (EA) pressuring them to create massive games with stupid deadlines and the backlash from ME Andromeda and ANTHEM, I'm surprised every single employee isn't permanently off sick foe clinical depression. I can't see this as a bad thing for them, they'll bounce back with the line "EA survivor" on their CV
And buy exciting news, they mean they will never localise a game outside of Japan ever again!... Sorry I'm a bit late for Halloween and spooky stories, please locate all your games in less than a year in the future. People want to give you money and they can't.
@zupertramp I'd like to think the reason is greed, but I think the executive at Sony are just plain stupid. They have made so many stupid decisions as of late, and a single subscription with different tiers would probably get them more money overall.
My biggest question is: who is the responsible party for that problem? Is it Ubisoft or Sony? Is it an intern who made a mistake in specific countries?
I guess I have more than one question about this. Ubisoft can't seem to get a break, and even mostly finished games (unlike AC Unity) are having big launch problems
This proves again the launch for both consoles were rushed before Xmas.
If I remember correctly, the PS4 Pro was also marketed as the most powerful console in the world and some games used to run more poorly on Pro than vanilla PS4. It seems Microsoft went full Sony on this gen.
This is a good move. Announcing DLCs before release always make people think that it's content removed from the original game and blocked behind a paywall. Just look at every single Ubisoft release.
That 74% makes little sense. Most Indies aren't available in physical version. What would be interesting is the pourcentage of digital sales amongst games that launched as physical AND digital on the same day. Indies that get a physical version months/years after launch shouldn't even be included
It would have been a joke it it wasn't the best. Every iteration is the same controller with some improvements. You can't go wrong by taking so little risk
Does this patch fix the forced online "bug"? If it does, I'll wait a 90% off, or maybe (just maybe) I'll give it a try if it's given for free on PS plus.
There is only one letter difference between "free" and "fee". Maybe they meant to charge us since day one and it was a typo. Ubisoft is pretty much French EA when it comes to greed
That console launch is a global nightmare. Between Sony's absolute worst marketing ever, bugs, online retailers' websites crashing, canceled pre-orders and now this? What is going on with this console???
Did EA take a page out is Sony's marketing book and misunderstood it completely? Maybe they'll revamp their website and remove all useful info like Sony did with their brand new 2005 inspired website
Could it be because Ubisoft pushed the graphics slightly more on XSX? You would probably no notice it with the human eye, so frame rate would be more noticeable I guess.
Also Ubisoft sucks at polishing games before day one and they obviously rushed it to fit new gen launch. I'll buy this one in 6-12 month, when it's cheaper, more polished and season pass is on sales... On stadia! xD JK, I'll wait for a ps5

A couple more months like this and the game will drop below £10. It'll be a good time to snatch a copy then wait for a permanent fix

Now I'm expecting CDPR to release a Switch version on 1st of April running at 360p/4fps
