Well said! i'm gonna buy Astrobot D1, one of my most hyped game for the end of the year. About LEGO Horizon i'm gonna buy it at half price, expecially because i have no one to play with
I remember the exclusivity of a zombie mode in a call of duty game (maybe cold war?) but again, it's competition. Have i to remember that the next gen version of Like a Dragon was exclusive to SX at launch for like 4-5 months?
@somnambulance It was my biggest disappointment yesterday tbh. It looks like a Kena: Bridge of Spirits made in Xbox (i didn't like it too much back then). At best it will be an Hi Fi Rush 2.0: Great game but a flop according to MS.
Besides, the stop motion is so cool but why the gameplay "flows" normally? this choice really is weird, maybe because a stop motion action game is less readable but if it's true than don't use stop motion totally
I don't want a showcase with games that has no release date. It's like the third time we see fable and it's targeting a 2025 release, same for South of Midnight. C'mon, event the Starfield DLC didn't have a release date, just a generic 2024. And that console....man, MS really wants to kill his console at that price
Big AAA are really missing this year but it's also a good opportunity for smaller games to take their space.
Let's see if tomorrow's Xbox Showcase is gonna revel other 2024 games, in any case i'm happy with Metaphor, Dragon Ball and Astrobot
@K1LLEGAL Sadly i think Xbox (the console) is fated to die, expecially after the multiplat strategy and the low number of console sold. It might be an hot take, but I think that Xbox isn't capable anymore to represent a real threat for Sony, even after all these acquisitions (just look at the last state of play, it seems almost like they don't care about the 2hr showcase of MS), so maybe it's time to a new company to face Playstation
@K1LLEGAL in my case the issue is that i don't want 3 consoles in my house. I have the PS5 for everything and Nintendo Switch for exclusives, some indies and portability. It's true that a Series S is very cheap but still, "manage" 3 console is not for everyone
Honestly, didn't expect that but i really appreciate. "Simple" games like this or Astrobot are really fun (really, you should try lego games even if you are a grown ass adult) and PS is lacking games for a younger audience. They really are putting a lot of effort to diversify the PS exclusives
it's clear that is not a PS5 isse but more an engine/optimization one. After Crystal Tools and Luminous Engine flop they're are still not capable of creating an engine
they really want their piece of cake from the asian market. Genshin Impact and Honkai are making a lot of money and Stellar Blade was a success, the growth prospects in this continent is huge and these games will help a lot
The issue here is that they can't skip Xbox SS and publish the game on SX, they are obliged to publish on both and given that SS is much more popular than SX, it doesn't make sense to skip SS. Also, maybe it's time for me to play the first game on PS5
It was okay, Astro looking really and Concord has a lot of charisma in my opinion. The issue here is that this is the "E3 period" event and we wanted a Playstation showcase showing the big AAA games. It must be said tho that this year is a lot better than 2023: Astro, Stellar Blade, Concord, FF7 Rebirth, Helldivers 2....but it's time to see what Playstation Studios are cooking
Idk, mobile market can really be a golden mine but at the same time is totally another story than console market. I can't really think of PS IPs that could be a mobile hit at the moment. Just look at Mighty Doom: strong IP, very fun game (really, it was almost a drug for me) aannnnd they're gone. If i remember correclty they'are developing an AAA mobile gaming with Neon Koi and that scares me a lot. Imo the best way to succeed in mobile gaming is creating simple games that can go viral, just like Helldivers 2 did on console and pc.
just want to see what PS Studios are doing. This first half of the year was great but i really want to know what Bluepoint, Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, etc are cooking.
@JuiceboxMeister 8/10 near perfect score? the game has a 9.3 user metacritic, that's a "near perfect score". The game is good but you can clearly see tha's their first big budget game, it has more in common with AA games than AAA ones but the price is the same.
@MadCaptain2207 Me too. I'm through my second 2nd run of Hi Fi Rush and i can't stop thinking about Tango when i'm playing. I really loved Ghostwire too.
2023 was at the same time the best and worst year for Xbox: 3 new exclusive IPs and a new Forza.
The latter was a real disappointment and more like a beta than a complete game, Starfield was just "good" e did not make Xbox relevant except for a month and Redfall....well, Redfall.
Hi Fi Rush was the only hit and the first Xbox exclusive capable of winning prizes in the same year of Zelda ToTk, BG3, Alan Wake 2 and many more and we know how it ended.
I think SX will struggle to achieve the same number of Xbox One expecially after the multiplat strategy and an all time low faith in the brand.
@UltimateOtaku91 Over the years i built a library of about 200 games thanks to ps plus essentials. When i want something new to play but don't want to spend more money, i just open my catalogue anche choose one.
The fact that Essentials game don't expire is just so good

After South of Midnight i fear for Compulsion Games. Same for Ninja Theory
