@LikelySatan being a game developer was also something I wanted to get into back then. The pay isn't great, but now I love my work in hospitality.
@Nakatomi_Uk PS3 also started adding on crap you couldn't remove towards the end of its life cycle. Isn't there a button for singstar or something which can't be removed?
@McTwist I don't need to say it because it's plainly obvious you're fighting a losing battle, but if I must spell it out;
There's a reason why game design has moved on and diversity is more of a thing these days, because that's what people want (surprisingly, people like to be represented). If it wasn't, we wouldn't be here. At the end of the day, you've got to remember that companies do a hell of a lot of market research to find out what's more likely to sell their goods. Unfortunately, you seem to be on the side of the loud minority in this case.
The only recent massive flop I can think of is Concord but, honestly, it just looked like a stale and boring game trying to release in what is now a saturated market, to a group of gamers (PS fans) who historically choose PS for their renowned single player titles, not this live service rubbish.
@AaronBayne Great video! Get it embedded in an article! 😅
Kind of looks like you're playing on PC, but, if you're on PS and ever struggling for a full party, hit me up (same alias as here). We have a large group of decent EU players in a couple of different party chats, I can add you to the more chill party which has no b****ing compared to the bigger chat.
@AaronBayne ah ha, thought that might have been the case! I can't decide if 4 was better than 5 but just let down by the shoddy frame rate.
That's another thing I meant to mention; if there are staff members like yourself who enjoy The Finals, how come you guys don't promote it a bit more by at least making an article for the start of each season? Let's be honest, it needs the boost in player count, especially for ranked PS only lobbies this season 😬
@vaako007 @mctwist I really wish there was a laughing reaction for the comments section for ridiculous comments such as 'the feminisation of everything' and 'the people are rising up' 😂
So many great looking games, yet so little time to play them all 🥲
For me it was Arc Raiders; I'm the same as Aaron, I've enjoyed the finals so much I'm itching to see what Embark can do with a fleshed out world.
Little Nightmares 3; yet to play the 2nd game, but I love a good atmospheric indie game!
And, of course, last but certainly not least, GTA 6; I'm hyped for this but, with how long it's taking to come out, I reckon I'll just end up waiting to get the PS6 version.
@aaronbayne "16 when the first game dropped, 29 by the time 6 is out" huh? GTA goes back much further than that 🤔 I played the very first GTA in my early-mid teens and I'm nearly 40 now!
This was pretty self evident, was it not? I loved the PS3 games;
KZ2 was some of the most fun I've had in a online FPS and, luckily, I was unemployed at the time so I managed to get the ridiculous trophy for coming in the top honour rank.
KZ3 was still good fun and I'm gutted I didn't manage to complete the online trophies before it went offline. Then KZ:SF fell off a little bit, but was gorgeous to look at.
As much as I'd love another KZ, the series wasn't a big enough commercial success. It would be interesting to see if another studio could bring back some of the magic with a spin off of some kind.
I really like the Horizon games too and both series have solidified Guerrilla as one of my favourite studios!
I played a couple of the traditional Lego games back on PS3, though got bored of the formula quite quickly. Also played Lego City Undercover to the platinum, but definitely didn't enjoy it as much.
This, however, looks absolutely gorgeous! I'm sure it's going to be more of the same traditional Lego games, but at least it's based on a world I enjoy more.. unlike all the superhero, HP, or Star Wars Lego games.
I'm glad (to some extent, since the series has been steadily going downhill) I'm a Battlefield gal, as this nonsense would rub my OCD the wrong way. The fact the main game trophy list ruins it all by not just being called 'Call of Duty' is bad enough.
Honestly, I'm not sure why they've done this. Battlefield has also had a hub of sorts in it for a long time, yet all of them have separate trophy lists?
Couple of questions to try and figure out if I'm interested in this or not;
Is it like a proper MMO where you'll run past other players doing their thing and can spontaneously group up, or it is more like you search for a group with a lobby and then join your own server?
And; how many people are playing it? I don't want to join an MMO which isn't very massive in terms of player count.
I've watched many of the bond films and played a number of the games throughout the years, though I wouldn't consider myself a huge Bond fan. However, I am thoroughly looking forward to this!
The last game I played was Quantum of Solace, which I enjoyed but found slightly lacking.. perhaps due to limitations of the PS3. This time, I have high hopes simply for the fact it's IO making it. I trust them as a developer.
Saying that; the only thing which worries me, like others here, is the mention of a 'young' Bond. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned already, but what immediately sprang to mind for me were the Kingsman films. As much as I enjoyed those, they're too kid friendly compared to Bond.
Superliminal and What Remains of Edith Finch are the stand out games there for me. Already completed Superliminal and WRoEF I think I got free years ago, so no worries there (really need to go back and finish it 😅).
I let my PS+ sub run out about 6 months ago and have bought 2 1 month subs since then.. far cheaper ust to get a couple of months a year here and there, rather than subscribe for the whole year.
Resubscribed this month because the additional PS+ discounts provided for a bunch of games on sale effectively made the sub free.
@Bunchesopuppies I'm yet to find any MMORPG that holds my attention like DAoC. It's the goat of MMOs imo. Nothing has ever been as fun as raiding those keeps and doing relic runs
I'll be keeping an eye on this! I'm yet to play Below Zero, but I absolutely loved the first game. It gave me Outer Wild story vibes, just in the ocean instead of space.
Really glad to see a mention for some truly cheap games. I never knew Submerged had a sequel! I'll be all over that once the PS Extra games for the month have been revealed.
@Mephisto2869 I concur! Every time I see one of these articles there's barely a mention of anything below £10. There are some great games available for only a few quid:
Windbound £1.59 Late Shift £4.54 (PS+ subscribers) Cloudpunk £2.99 We Were Here Too £1.59 We Were Here Expeditions: The Friendship £1.64 Beyond A Steel Sky £3.99
Yay. This can replace my cosmic red controller which seems to have developed stick drift on the left stick over the last few days 🙄
I've been playing a lot of The Finals recently, so lots of tense pressure has been applied, and now my character will occasionally walk forward without any input from me
@Sil_Am unfortunately so. Personally, I view the loss of large numbers of jobs as a catastrophic failure by senior management and a reason not to invest in a company. Clearly I'm doing capitalism wrong and this is why I'm not rich (among other factors)
@Mad001 I find it kind of funny that you say you don't understand what woke is, but claim it's not for you. Taking the specific example of Chevy Chase; maybe because it's well known how racist he is? Check out what his co-stars from Community had to say about him.
It just so happens that people are much more comfortable for calling out others bs these days, but those who get called out can't accept it and declare it as "woke", as if that's an insult (it's really not)
On topic: not so interested in the leaks other than the roadmap; nothing of interest for me until 2029 I guess!
I certainly wouldn't call this lineup amazing by any stretch, though there are a few interesting titles in there... fortunately for me, none I'm really interested in playing. I've far too many other games to finish off at the moment.
@johncalmc some rough maths, assuming you slept 8h per day, means you've spent around 265 days of this year either asleep or gaming.. what did you do with the other 100 days? 😅
@Ninerguy1608 I thought the controls were spot on. The only things I had to change were the cross hairs and the gadgets on to the dpad.. whoever thought of putting the gadgets on L1 needs shot
Thanks for posting this; I thought this game was ages away! Definitely going to give it a blast. The last BF to hold my attention was 4 (though 3 was probably the best), 2042 is okay but it's just missing something. With ex Dice staff at the helm, and better destruction than most BF games these days, I'm sure I'll get some enjoyment out of this
@DennisReynolds I think the city is pretty cool, but it feels quite lifeless to me. I was playing last night and noticed a severe lack of cars on the roads; I would have thought such a densely populated city such as NC would have quite a bit of traffic (enough to make the city feel alive at least while not getting in the way of our own driving). To justify it, I told myself maybe most people in NC are too poor to own a car.
@CrackmanNL the PS4 version (free PS5 upgrade) is currently available from Amazon for £12.71, or £8.71 if you're eligible for the £4 discount when collecting from a dropoff point

I guess once I finish the DLC trophies from AC3 I won't be playing any of the games I haven't started from Unity onwards. It's a shame, I was looking forward to trying the RPG aspects of the later games
I've quite a few games I started on Extra but got distracted from and haven't gone back to. I worry each month some will leave the service and I won't have the time to finish them.
Really happy to hear this. I started playing Cyberpunk for the first time last night via the 5h trial and only remembered this could be a problem after I'd switched it off.
Kind of a non issue anyway since the DLC isn't on the disc, so I might buy the PS4 version which is currently on sale for about £14, then buy the DLC later on down the line when it's heavily discounted.
@supergurr I'm about 25-30% through the story and I have the same thoughts. It is fun, but I think I'll be glad once it's over.

@GravyThief I agree, I doubt there was any malicious intent behind the use of the word. Rather, the implication is that 5% isn't very much of 100%, but when we know the 5% is in relation to nearly 1000 livelihoods I think the inclusion of 'just' is somewhat inappropriate.
