Re: Sony's AI Leak Reveals a Creepy Sci-Fi Future PS5 Gamers Don’t Necessarily Want

Whately86

@LogicStrikesAgain I see this as making your character feel more real in games.

Characters will say your names but also will evolve and adapt to you. So in RPGs, this means finally actually having real live effects onm choices or how you even talk to people. This is particularly exciting.

Imagine playing Titanfall 2, but you use your name and this tech. You'll feel that the conmnection witht he bot is actually with YOU. Thats crazy

Re: PS Plus Copies of Days Gone Won't Offer Cheap $10 Upgrade to New PS5 Version

Whately86

That's werid, Sony has been so generous and consumer friendly, specially this gen.

What an unlucky coincidence, I guess, that whomever did get the PS Plus "free" version, was blocked from acquiring the digital version or something.... If you think about it, PS Plus is a paid service so you did spend money to be able to get hte "free" license, but that is just me being weird.

I'm sure this is all due to the fact that physical copies holds the market back. Once we are free and all digital, it'll be MUCH MUCH better.

I trust Sony will do what is best for us, no mater what.

In the end, even if I'm wrong, I can still pay for it. So why should I care?

Re: PlayStation Users Miffed with Sony's Lack of PSN Outage Transparency

Whately86

This is the All Digital world so many are eager about. Monopoly, pure profit.

Theey have made it super clear how little they care. They put out PS5 talking about 4K aand 60fps, w/ 8K in the box (now removed), new controllers with a bunch a new gimmics but same drift guaranteed analog sticks (hall effect has been available since PS3), not even premium controller has hall effect. They evn sell you the crappy piece of analog that you will absolutely have to swap. This is like spitting in your face.

Flood of remakes / remasters, alongside lack of proper exclusives.

Lack of info, updates, commitment, deadlines, road map for current gen.

Absurd amount of cross-gen, extending as much as possible last gen

BUT THEN DROPPING LAST GEN IN PS PLUS?

While raising PS Plus prices.

Games got more expensive this gen as well, but with most of them not feeling like next gen-worth-more kind of game.

$700 Pro, no drive, no premium controller or headphones, no STAND. If even just ONE game played WORSE than BASE, would already by an awful shame. But it wasn''t just one.

Pulse Elite (I got these) not premium at all.

Thing is that Sony got very cocky because they dominated last Gen and MIcrosoft messed up their greedy gameplan. So SOny thinks they can just milk us dry because we won't stray away.

It's like they don't remember they got ahead when Nintendo messed up with Wii.

We PAY for a service that was offline for a whole day and they don't even care to explain anything.

It's like:

I am making the best salary of my LIFE. I can buy any game I want. But doesn't mean I'll just become stupid and accept any kind of BS because I can afford itwhatever crap we push, we expect you to chew and swallow. And whomever complains is just a crybaby. Pay more, get less and love it.

FIGHT FOR PHYSICAL GAMES. Once it's gone, the whole market is gonna change... For worse.

I've been calling it.

Re: Sony to Mostly Drop PS4 Games from PS Plus Starting January 2026

Whately86

If games are still being done for both platforms, which means games are still being released for PS4.

So why would Sony just turn their backs of PS4 owners that sign up to PS Plus?

They don't have the gust to officially end the generation because there are still SO many players there. So why not keep adding PS4 games to Essential??

Because Sont is particularly super anticonsumer this generation.

Re: The Final Suicide Squad PS5 Ending Is a Real Sorry Sight

Whately86

My "attempt to at least save the story" Ending:

Main villain is a hive mind that is invading multiple earths throughout the multiverse, right? And he dominates minds.

So, in the end, you end up being saved by the actual JL and find out you were under all along. The game was you resisiting in your mind and fighting back, along with everyone else. The reality you see is "constructed" by all the minds taken over by brainiac trying to fight him together. This ends up weaking the villain, which gives JL the opening to finish him the real world, thus releaisng all minds.

The End

Re: Sony's Immersive Tech Concept Puts You in a Room Made of Screens Where You Can Smell Your Enemies

Whately86

@Ogbert I bet in the future they'll combine this with the walking matts for the final product. Have you seen these things? you can kind of walk around on top of it.

So you could have 2 different end products; one where you actually walk in the environment, duck for cover etc.

And another following your idea, would be awesome as well. Imagine if you could play with up to 4 friends. The car shakes and rumbles and as you drive, you feel like you're moving as everything moves around you. And even the driver can shoot as well. You can trade places, etc.

And as for the smells, imagine being able to smell the gunpowder, the jungle, dirt, rain etc. It would really trick your brain into believing you're actually there. Specially if you're in a car or something of the sort

Re: Talking Point: Would You Want a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation?

Whately86

Honest question here: If Sony used the PS4 tech for a portable, would that make it easier to invest in it? Like, isntead of creating a new tech and split resources financing 2 systems, they could adapt the old gen into portable hardware. I would imagine this could make it easier to have "cross gen", maybe? Not having the exact games per say, but I would imagine it would be easier to get the last gen version buffed up for current gen. Since it's a portable, perhaps it would even make it much more acceptable for the versions to be so different.

I suppose the resources invested would be higher than the way current cross gen have been made, but I believe it would be much less than developing for 2 completely different machines (like comparing Nintendo's N64 & Gameboy).

I don't know much, but I dare to dream. Hahahhaha

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

"UNFAIR" to blame the billionaire company that put 8K & 4K/120 on the base PS5 packaging and will make you pay nearly (if not exactly or more) DOUBLE for you to have their PRO with the exact things that came with the base. It's not that expensive to make a freaking base, is it?

But if I had people that would defend my company while I sell stands and drives separately from a premium product while giving them one of the exact same controller and didn't even care to certify that games would even run better... Hell, I'd do the same.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@Sweetz Still doesn't justify why it's acceptable for this to ever have run in that state on a super top notch premium device. And it's not a case of a single exception.

Sony doesn't give a craps ass melted in butter about us. The bottom line is just that. They dodged allowing games being released in "acceptable" states, full of issues, while they already had the pro in the makes. This Pro should take our gaze away from the things they didn't deliver for the base ps5 and it doesn't even do that.

But you can always see it in a way that is more acceptable to you.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@DennisReynolds You know why I blame it on Sony? Because it ain't a Microsoft console. Their machine, they allowed a 700 premium product to run a game worse than base.

If this is ok for you, suck to be you. For me, not cool bro. 700, no pro controller, no base, no disc drive? While the base getting a bunch of game with issues? Who allows that? Would you hire a cook for your restaurant if he said he could cook chinese but he can actually do some of the dishes. But if you hire his brother, you can def get the Chinese dishes you paid for the first time? And then his brother makes a dish even worse than him? Would you just pay them their premium Chinese dish maker salary and say that is the market?

But maybe I'm just either too old or I grew up in a "3rd world" country and tend to try to give value to the money I earned being away from house and family. Maybe to me it's just significant that something i loved is being abused.

But hey, the market, right?

pay the 2 Chinese cooks, bro.

Re: Sony Boss Says It's 'Learned a Lot' from PC Player Pushback

Whately86

@Art_Vandelay The moment they realize the BR are spreading, we'll start having immigrant complaints. This is a European Website, after all.

Hope they don't try to shoot our boat down.

But then again, we're always likeable people.

They'd sink our boats if they didn't get to know us. Once they knew us, they'd hide us.

Or you, you got pao de queijo.

They knew about Rio, they'd still shoot down my boat, I guess.

I'll just catch a crocodile, because here in Rio we learn how to swim early, arrombados!

This is all just a joke, I love it here. Please don't report me.

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 16, and Metaphor: ReFantazio All Get a Boost on PS5 Pro

Whately86

@TechaNinja I've taken my time to read replies.

basically, PS5 Pro is supposed to deliver the experience promised by PS5 (box had 8K & 4K /120 FPS), with no stand or drive or pro controller. AND there are games (even if just one) running WORSE than a base PS5 from 2020. But people are STILL going out of their way to justify why it's ok.

That's why it's "ok" to release games that don't work the way they should. It's a closed environment released 4 years ago, man. Come on! What would happen to any of us if our work output was this? I most certainly wouldn't be able to afford a freaking base ps5.

The advantages are none compared to the price it costs, and the fact is so black and white that you even have an example of things running worse.

And the worse? Why do you think Sony wasted millions on Concord & WB on Suicide Squad? Such expensive flops?

Because them boys will just justify their way to make their money back while they just keep pushing whatever the hell they ant out of us.

And they will keep fighting for the right to be stupid and allow the market to get worse for EVERYONE.

Sony won't dedicate itself or get better because they love us. The PS3 changed direction because people were still vocal about it.

PS5 Pro is the biggest crap in our face since CB 2077

Where are this Gen's games? The games we were supposed to be blown away about? 1-2 gen exclusives a year? WTF?

And to think 700 is acceptable for another broken promise of delivering what they sold to us 4 years ago.

I got 2 kids and I wokr way too much. But maybe I'm just a brazillian dude and the european colonizer majority here just likes to lick boots. I don't.

As far as attack, I don't really give a crap. I'm a complainer and I will complain if I am consuming or not. This is society. If you wanna suck up to everything then just don't even talk and save us all some time.

I'll consume and voice my opinion (with respect for my fellow other) until I die or am banned. I'm 38, I don't have time for this crap. I waited my whole life to see games get to this point of quality and we can't even push the market WE FREAKING MAKE GO ROUND to deliver us better products?

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@DennisReynolds 9 out of 1000 should not be acceptable. If you can't make it work, don't put it in. It shouldn't have been released now. PSSR should have been properly developed and been the 1st game changer for next gen. But no, milk it now, use the ps5 game base as test dummies. We accept half baked games anyway.

1080 - 60 fps should be minimum this gen. Want 4K, less fps. But every single game should run at 60. You want more graphics, you get less stable fps.

"oh, but GTA VI". Should run 1080 - 60 fps. Remove the extra extra. Make it possible mode with 30 fps, great. But there should be a mandatory 60 fps, set as standard

Any comparison with PC doesn't make sense since PC is a market that things are released and applied and gen shift is player chosen. Then, it's understandable issues will take place as it's not a closet environment. You absolutely can't control the overall market, which makes the job much more complicated.

To even compare to consoles to justify seems to prove how far you're willing to go to say the company you (we) financially support is right at the end and all their decisions are correctly made, and it's best for the user.

We just consume differently, I guess. And I believe that it's mandatory to be critical, specially with what I spend my hard earned money on.

(EDIT- I added the GTA VI because it's what's going to really push the market in every way possible)

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@DennisReynolds If my issue was with Jedi alone, I would understand the argument. To put it simply, if I'm releasing a product I deem to be premium, pushing the boundary of pricing and offering less in box content than the base, I would assume there should be at least a bar to achieve. But at the end of the day, this kind of thing is acceptable.

Final fantasy is a great example as well. If it runs so poorly on base ps5, how is the final product acceptable for that player base?

Greed can't allow my next statement to be considered realistic at this point. But the truth is that instead of investing millions on ps5 pro, the bar for the base ps5 should have been raised. We have a good console that needs to be fully explored and adapt to the generation that has been. Period. The PS4 Pro brought 4K and PS4 had a healthy gen at that point. Console made sense, base (slim) price brought down, PRO launched at slim's old price (or near, whatever). Made sense.

This gen was severely affected by the pandemic. But Sony wants to keep company numbers as if not. We did NOT have a tech leap in TV's that suddenly made ultra screens super more affordable. Sony is so greedy and blunt they put 8K on PS5 base box. But now the console's not enough to actually enjoy 4k at stable 60 fps. But we have 4K / 120fps on the box or am I delusional?

This gen should have been about pushing 60 fps as the new base, minimum. We have 60hz screens in EVERYONE'S homes for the past decade at least. 4K / 60 fps too much for the new gen? Then be humble and make it 1080 and stick to a concrete evolution. Raise the bar for quality.

But Sony plays in favor of the cheap greedy market. They accept half baked if it pays enough, which should mean a LOT in terms of what they are giving us. Sorry, which we're paying for.

The only reason Cyberpunk was removed from PSN and reimbursed is because CPR took a gigantic crap on everyone. It was just beyond what anyone had ever done in terms of lying, pretending everyone is ok, making millions and STILL releasing it like that. But it's ok, we got the game 5 years later. Then release it 5 years later and be a professional.

The main point is that we have become so easy to be fooled that you come up with arguments of why a 700 machine is playing any game worse than base ps5.

Thing is, it shouldn't be possible. That is it. But tell me why it is acceptable. Please.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@DennisReynolds I can agree the numbers of games affected isn't a super significant number. I blew some unnecessary steam here and no one really deserved that.

But my point is that is shouldn't be acceptable, you know? Any game looking worse. We're talking about a super expensive machine, just launched, that doesn't come with 2 basic components the launch edition had, the same launch controller, different plates just to sell more, etc. And, on top of that, there are games performing worse than on base models? It's just too much for me. Not even their super expensive pro controller has hall effect, I mean, come on...

And look, I have an OG PS5, w drive, got a 2 TB ssd, 2 DS controllers and a nice lil library of physical games & a LOT of digital. Share an account and all. I'm not anti Sony at ALL. And I've bought my consoles since my 64 (Nintendo lost me w WII). I had such a blast with the PS4, it was a no brainer getting a PS5 and my daughter now plays games as well.

So at this point, with all that has gone down this generation, it just seems they feel so safe at this point, there is just no limit to how much they'll disrespect the consumer moving forward.

I understand it's a niche market, this one we love. But if they keep grinding people like this, it'll just make it more and more niche. It means that what now is too expensive for some people, will be for others as well very soon.

And here, it seems most people don't think it's an issue because it doesn't bother them directly. But that is not how the world works. I can still afford to have my hobbie and will probably have to grind a bit to make the shift to PC, but it doesn't mean I'll ever, EVER voice down against stupid greedy corporate choices.

$700 for a "pro" console version without drive or stand, without their pro controller and that has ANY game being worse than base is just absolutely absurd and unacceptable.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@Sweetz It seems to me that they just don't care enough anymore and they don't need to anyways. Specially because there will be thousands making up excuses for this to be acceptable. Why not develop this tech the right way to apply it with an actual game changer addition through PS6? Because they can milk it now.

PS4 Pro had 4K, it was a game changer at the time and not releasing would represent lost of revenue and opportunity. PS5 Pro just seems like they didn't even push the bas to it's heights. To compare where ps5 is now and where ps4 was when they had their pro versions released, it's staggering.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@DennisReynolds Ask PushSquare, it's their statement. Thanks.

"You can add Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to the mounting pile of games that somehow perform worse on PS5 Pro than on Sony's baseline hardware"

But hey, 5 seconds checking this same site and I have a few links for you:

https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2024/11/disgruntled-ps5-pro-owners-campaign-to-disable-support-after-slew-of-shoddy-patches

https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2024/11/konami-quiet-as-ps5-pro-players-report-issues-with-silent-hill-2

The Pro is obviously a great success and was finely tuned to give their owners nothing but the absolute best possible. SWI 2024 trophy has a winner (Super Worth It).

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@DennisReynolds Oh, so sorry to hurt your feelings with my comment. I didn't notice that jedi Survivor was the ONLY game that had ANY issue with PS Pro. Absolutely all other games are def worth it.

Oh, wait. This article here might indicate I might be wrong....

"You can add Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to the mounting pile of games that somehow perform worse on PS5 Pro than on Sony's baseline hardware"

Hmmm, but Sony's just an innocent company that bleeds money to give us what we want for the fairest price possible. We must defend them blindly at all costs.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

@sanderson72 My 2nd DS got drift already. I'm going to invest some cash in getting both on hall effect modules, to eliminate drift once and for all. It just adds to the absurd greed, they have the tech for over a decade. DS3 had hall effect modules. You can go all out on an DS EDGE and STILL no hall effect, just because more money for them.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Whately86

God, is Sony any more of a joke?

It'll be addressed, resolved, yes.

But this has been in development since the PS5 was launched, we had games probably not being worked on as much as Pro would launch.

Then we get a $700 discless, no stand, no EDGE controller...

And now games perform worse?

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

Well, now I can DEF see the advantages and seems like I didn't even need a 120hz super Oled display after all...

Def worth the buy, selling my base PS5 right away.

Re: Sony Boss Says It's 'Learned a Lot' from PC Player Pushback

Whately86

I might be saying something super stupid that makes no sense at all, since I know nothing about how this actually works:

How hard would it be for Sony to have a PC platform, to sell their exclusives pc ports, and perhaps make a deal to also sell some pc versions of games they sell from 3rd parties. This way, PC users would already have a Playstation log in, and would access their platform to access their Sony games. This would make having a PSN account organic, natural and seamless.

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 16, and Metaphor: ReFantazio All Get a Boost on PS5 Pro

Whately86

@JB_Whiting They should, at the very very minimum, had a super heavy game being released alongside the Pro. A game that would showcase what the fuss is all about. A game that would play great on base ps5 but even better on the pro. We don't have that.

All games shown on the reveal were old games we've all played, zooming in until image starts to bet very blurred so you could see the difference.

All that cost without a disc drive or stand! Super premium.

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 16, and Metaphor: ReFantazio All Get a Boost on PS5 Pro

Whately86

"Fortunately, the $700 system does a great job of picking up Atlus' slack"

"Again, Metaphor is a game that should be running without issue to begin with — but it's still a decent example of the what the PS5 Pro can do straight out of the box."

So, it seems the baseline is that we accept when devs slack and release a game that should be playing better on the base PS5, and it's cool because the new discless premiuym console will allow you to get what you should out of the base PS5. Especially considering the development for the pro was already in the works before the base ps5 even launched, it really seems like the model of the industry is to milk the fans with base models and release games that will perform fine on the top notch system. The dev already had access to the pro dev kit and the base ps5 has been out for 4 years. There's no excuse for this to have been released like this, for this to be accepted as normal, unless what I suppose above is true.

Re: Hypnotic PS5 Pro Boot Screen, Background Worth the Upgrade

Whately86

@Mr_B021 There was an article on how the slim and proi boxes are almost identical.

To me the problem isn't reporting, it's the obvious pushing of
a product. This site isn't meant to make sales, it's meant to talk about Playstation stuff.

You can talk about something without actively trying to forcibly push it. It stands out because it' so artificial. That's the problem.

Re: PS5 Pro Makes Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Look Like a Whole New Game

Whately86

@HappyGamerGirl Because this whole genration has been a joke. And it seems that, out of the people that are indeed getting a pro, most aren't affected by the changes Sony's imposing, so they don't care.

But for some people, like me, getting a PS5 was quite an investment. It's not like I can just decide to spend $700 on a console that is supposed to be a mere improvement. In my particular case, I live in Brazil. $700 is about R$4,060, which is over half my salary.

Then, you stop to take a look at the recent games coming out. The amount of remakes, remasters. The amount of games released in a poor state (this is not sony's particular problem, just adds to the sour taste this gent has left). The amount of games still being cross gen, which means they can never really explore the differential qualities of the PS5 that make sit next gen, since the game has to be playable in the last gen as well.

The very disappointing number of exclusives so far, lack of updates on what's actually coming (and more or less when), and a few of the stuff that we do know is being cooked, we don't really have an interest in (The live service games).

The controller prices went up (understandable on it's own, just adds up in this list), the faceplates for PS5 slim and Pro not being interchangeable is a complete joke (they are practically the same, but Sony changed the hooks on the Pro so you can't use them. That's just out of pure greed.

Then you release a pro version of your system, when the generation doesn't feel it's been soaring, although we've been in if for 4 years. Price at $700 and not even include a stand & disc drive? Sorry, it's just too much.

And no one is saying whomever is buying can't be happy or can't buy. Go on ahead and use your money the way you want, you're free to. But it's one thing for you to allow yourself the right to enjoy and overpriced console. It's also my right to complain, as much as I want.

Absolutely no right we have to day was given out of love. Every single thing we hold as normal nowadays were fought for by people who dared to complain and stand up.

But here, it seems we have a lot of Sony fans that get offended if you speak your truth as if you had no right to complain since you consume.

And the more the number of players that can access these products go down, the more the prices will go up. And eventually, a LOT of players that were super comfy with their spending, will find out they can't reach that far anymore.

Maybe then, they'll start complaining as well.

Re: PS5 Pro was a '5-Year Project', In Development Before PS5's Launch

Whately86

@LogicStrikesAgain

So if subsidizing the console is meant for said console to reach more people, then makinga console more expensive is clearly reducing the nyumber of people who will access said console. Seem we do agree, although you're on the margin with more money and unbothered. I'm pissed with Sony. It's a downgrade path. No disc, no stand, no new game coming out to really showcase the 700 console's power. All games Sony is trying to get us excited for are games that already came out and will look a little better.

If you're satisfied, great for you. I'm not. Enjoy paying more an getting back less each turn around.
