@LogicStrikesAgain But then you would only deal with Sony's launcher when wanting to play Sony games. But every solution will have a complaint to make it company, these days....
I might be saying something super stupid that makes no sense at all, since I know nothing about how this actually works:
How hard would it be for Sony to have a PC platform, to sell their exclusives pc ports, and perhaps make a deal to also sell some pc versions of games they sell from 3rd parties. This way, PC users would already have a Playstation log in, and would access their platform to access their Sony games. This would make having a PSN account organic, natural and seamless.
@JB_Whiting They should, at the very very minimum, had a super heavy game being released alongside the Pro. A game that would showcase what the fuss is all about. A game that would play great on base ps5 but even better on the pro. We don't have that.
All games shown on the reveal were old games we've all played, zooming in until image starts to bet very blurred so you could see the difference.
All that cost without a disc drive or stand! Super premium.
"Fortunately, the $700 system does a great job of picking up Atlus' slack"
"Again, Metaphor is a game that should be running without issue to begin with — but it's still a decent example of the what the PS5 Pro can do straight out of the box."
So, it seems the baseline is that we accept when devs slack and release a game that should be playing better on the base PS5, and it's cool because the new discless premiuym console will allow you to get what you should out of the base PS5. Especially considering the development for the pro was already in the works before the base ps5 even launched, it really seems like the model of the industry is to milk the fans with base models and release games that will perform fine on the top notch system. The dev already had access to the pro dev kit and the base ps5 has been out for 4 years. There's no excuse for this to have been released like this, for this to be accepted as normal, unless what I suppose above is true.
@Mr_B021 There was an article on how the slim and proi boxes are almost identical.
To me the problem isn't reporting, it's the obvious pushing of a product. This site isn't meant to make sales, it's meant to talk about Playstation stuff.
You can talk about something without actively trying to forcibly push it. It stands out because it' so artificial. That's the problem.
@HappyGamerGirl Because this whole genration has been a joke. And it seems that, out of the people that are indeed getting a pro, most aren't affected by the changes Sony's imposing, so they don't care.
But for some people, like me, getting a PS5 was quite an investment. It's not like I can just decide to spend $700 on a console that is supposed to be a mere improvement. In my particular case, I live in Brazil. $700 is about R$4,060, which is over half my salary.
Then, you stop to take a look at the recent games coming out. The amount of remakes, remasters. The amount of games released in a poor state (this is not sony's particular problem, just adds to the sour taste this gent has left). The amount of games still being cross gen, which means they can never really explore the differential qualities of the PS5 that make sit next gen, since the game has to be playable in the last gen as well.
The very disappointing number of exclusives so far, lack of updates on what's actually coming (and more or less when), and a few of the stuff that we do know is being cooked, we don't really have an interest in (The live service games).
The controller prices went up (understandable on it's own, just adds up in this list), the faceplates for PS5 slim and Pro not being interchangeable is a complete joke (they are practically the same, but Sony changed the hooks on the Pro so you can't use them. That's just out of pure greed.
Then you release a pro version of your system, when the generation doesn't feel it's been soaring, although we've been in if for 4 years. Price at $700 and not even include a stand & disc drive? Sorry, it's just too much.
And no one is saying whomever is buying can't be happy or can't buy. Go on ahead and use your money the way you want, you're free to. But it's one thing for you to allow yourself the right to enjoy and overpriced console. It's also my right to complain, as much as I want.
Absolutely no right we have to day was given out of love. Every single thing we hold as normal nowadays were fought for by people who dared to complain and stand up.
But here, it seems we have a lot of Sony fans that get offended if you speak your truth as if you had no right to complain since you consume.
And the more the number of players that can access these products go down, the more the prices will go up. And eventually, a LOT of players that were super comfy with their spending, will find out they can't reach that far anymore.
So if subsidizing the console is meant for said console to reach more people, then makinga console more expensive is clearly reducing the nyumber of people who will access said console. Seem we do agree, although you're on the margin with more money and unbothered. I'm pissed with Sony. It's a downgrade path. No disc, no stand, no new game coming out to really showcase the 700 console's power. All games Sony is trying to get us excited for are games that already came out and will look a little better.
If you're satisfied, great for you. I'm not. Enjoy paying more an getting back less each turn around.
If you can pay and think a pro is worth it, good for you. Be happy because you think it's worth the $700 fora top tier premium product that doesn't even come with a STAND, which the OG came with. Doesn't even come with a DRIVE, which the OG came with... Just keep supporting Sony all the way, no matter what (at least, from the points your try to making other comments, it's what it comes across as).
I think it's just ridiculous the price gauges, $700 for a pro without a stand or disc drive, most games this gen being cross gen, lack of Sony exclusives, lack of even news of what's being cooked by Sony's private dev's (oh, sorry, we got Concord's brother coming, thanks Sony).
Me, personally, feel like I'm being made a fool of. I have never spent so much money on a videogame (got a 2 tb ssd, controler charger and extra controler - which they still use the plastic crap part for the analog when we've had hall effect for years, just so they can milk us. Even their PRO CONTROLER doesn't have hall effect, but rather they sell their crappy plastic parts so stupid people can just keep spending - )
I'll still play, because I have this console, I've had the Ps4 and, for now, will keep making use of it. But in absolutely NO WAY am I satisfied with Sony, at ALL.
But please, be my guest and keep cheering and celebrating this crap generation and these stupid greedy choices Sony makes.
It's so funny to see people that have financial access and are not affected at all by the changes, like prices.
Not everyone lives the same reality. But it seems that a lot of people that will not have a problem getting a pro (or paying more for plus, or paying 70 or even 100 on games etc), think that no one has the right to complain or differ in opinion.
And Sony has been clearly crappy this gen. The discless pro (oh, what's the problem, I'm all digital anyways. Or, I'll just buy a drive), they just made the slim the base version and you can swap the covers with the pro? What? They changed where the hooks go so they don't fit? Dualsense got more expensive.
This mentality of not caring if it doesn't affect you is just crazy to me. If the numbers of people that get access to these products keeps shrinking, the prices will increase even more. One day, it'll be YOU moaning. Or, the industry won't be profitable enough. But yeah, poor people moaning.
You can use anything to try to justify this. But alongside the newest plates also won't be available for the OG version (I can understand that, since the model is discontinued), PRO $700 without disc OR stand (this is ridiculous), the new main version also isn't compatible with the pro? This is such a cash grab move. You could def have made them all compatible. To have to own different set of plates for each system is absurd. The slim doesn't come with a stand, ps plus price going up all the time...
I have a weird feeling sony's endgame is having all of us on PC. I'll probably get a PS6 sometime down the line, but I'll most probably make the shift to PC next gen.
@mariomaster96 He wanted attention, likes and shares. He got a mention on an article, he's winning (in a sense). People flame up their opinions to stand out and seems bold.
I bet they'll have a Miles Morales style game, perhaps a bit after Wolverine and might even have a link (since they're all Marvel). It's a longshot, but wanna bet this same guy will say they're so cool and amazing etc?
I think you make an interesting point, but in my perspective it all comes down to the story. You can take the character to other cities / worlds. The sky is the limit. But it all really depends on how creative the devs allow themselves to be.
Maybe it's because I'm from the audiovisual "world", but I'm just a believe that creative stories are the prime point. A decent gameplay is mandatory in order to not work against the overall experience and break the vibe. But if the story is good, creative and you get hooked, then the environment becomes secondary (to me, obviously).
@naruball I think the stories had more low moments than the first, but overall we got a bigger game with new mechanics, another playable character with his own set of moves and storyline.
Not a perfect game, but a very good one. Looking for a cheap disc version to have in my permanent library.
I think we tend to over expect most of the times. First game was great, and I think no one really expected to be so blown away. I personally loved the story, they could just script and film.
So the second one we get a 2nd playable Spider man, bigger map, new mechanics, new skills etc.
We don't need a game that just flips the world upside down every single time, innovating everything. The game is super solid.
Starting to lose my respect for this page. They are charging a pro model 700 bucks, without a stand and without a drive and they're being flexible? That's a joke.
We want a drive, that's why they are selling out. If we didn't, they wouldn't sell, would they? They are ripping us off, when we don't want a 100% digital future.
They are super flexible as well because they are offering us a variety of Live Service games, huh? Like Concord.
Been waiting for a while to try this version. Way too expensive to buy brand new, not enough discount so far either.
Regarding the LOU2 discussion above - I consider their direction incredibly brave. It'd have been so much easier and safer to make the game we all thought would come, with Joel and ellie once again. The story shook us all. Traumatized us all. And sent us on a killing spree in the first half of the game. No one cared about killing a dog. And then we find out their names, then we play with them. That's the whole angle, the other perspective you don't want to acknowledge from the safety of your comfort zone. I like Abby as a character, but I'm Team Ellie ALL the WAY.
@freddquadros Came here to say EXACTLY that. If this helps us get DG2, I'm in. Seriously will begin keeping an eye out for physycail PS4 editions (or buy digital if super super cheap), hoping it'll get me a discount when this new verison comes out (got LoU2 for 49 reais, digital. Paid another 50 reais for the LoU2 PS5 version)
@nedbvai Oh, so I don't have the right to complain about price? What kind of mentality is that? If you spend your money as if your dad gave it to you as allowance, great. Be my guest. But don't act like every consumer should be entitled like that. I like videogames, I have played for over 3 decades. And if I work and I'm spending my money, I believe I have the right to voice my opinion.
And I was thinking about buying one. But 700 bucks to (basically, at this point) play old games better, without drive and stand is just ridiculous.
Please go ahead and spend your money blindly and silent. I'll keep on doing my thing as well. Thanks
games that get any extra content after release, at no extra charge. The game was not developed to be rentable and make the gross money during it's long online life. It was designed to be sold for a fixed price. You to play a certain experience and that experience might be improved upon. Could be considered LIve Service? Not GaaS. We like that, we support that, we want that. Astrobot. No Mans Sky etc
games that are designed to be played online where the gross revenue is based on constant money being spent by players on new cosmetics, content, and engagement. Live Service, Gaas. And we don't really like that. Fortnite is a money cow but it's not the rule in the game. Concord shows that. Overwatch itself isn't what it used to be. So many titles launching and either dying or living off weird numbers. We don't really want that. The ones we want we already have. Unless you're coming up with something special and unique that will make the GasS justifiable or blend in and be nearly unseen, we don't want it.
@Gamer83 Thanks, my thoughts exactly. I am curious about numbers in each market, but that does not take anything away from the clear record breaking / making hit Wukong is.
@freddquadros Yesterday, some people were putting Wukong down saying their numbers were high only because it's a Chinese game, Chinese setting. Which to me is a very Eurocentric thing to do against a product in China and focused on Chinese culture (unrelated, but ironic how Chinese players get over tested, although they get much less percentage of cheating athletes, while USA gets tested way less and has a much higher percentage of cheating players - some which still get to compete). Even if the majority of the players are in China, the numbers are still record breaking, and no other game had similar numbers in all other regions combined ever in history, so to me it's a kind of discrimination.
Today they use Wukong as an example that backs their views because it's an undeniable, world wide, record breaking success. Some people even say Wukongs success shows people don't want politics nonsense in games and that is why Concord is failing (but I truly don't understand where the politics resides in Concord). The biggest irony is how political the comment actually seems to be.
@naruball I think a lot of people don't understand that you can still be influenced and fueled by far right arguments, even if you don't consider yourself far right. That's how they pass the feeling of being the voice of the majority, in my opinion.
I don't think things should be manipulated artificially to sell more, but I am all for inclusion and truly understand how important it is to have a varied set of characters, background, story. But unfortunately there a right way of doing this and there's the capitalist way of monetizing everything. Just like companies go rainbow for pride month, but they don't really care about it.
@Ravix To be fair, I read quite a few comments on other articles that tried to undersell this games achievements by saying things like "these numbers are only in China", "this is an ok game that is selling well because its a Chinese setting, story and characters and Chinese are very nationalists". As if the game is only doing well because Chinese buy their own products. When no, the game is selling super well because it's actually quite good. Obviously the market in China helps, a lot, but it's also selling well in other places. And the game is great, which also helps a lot in sales.
Similar opinions could also be read in reviews in other sites.
@QiaraIris Exactly. I'm having quite an issue with these arguments that try to take away from an amazing accomplishment.
When Wukong broke the record with 2 million players, someone tried to put t down saying that was mainly in China. As if the fact that no other game had these numbers with all other territories combined, ever in history, isn't as huge as it should be.
Game is super cool. I suck at souls games as well. Having a hard time finalizing (what seems to be) final boss in Jedi Survivor (not souls, but soulslike), but had so much fun eating each boss so far in Wukong.
AND, last but not least, wasn't this a company that made mobile games? To release something of this magnitude is impressive to say the very least.
@Fiendish-Beaver No that you asked me, but if your PC is high end, I'd stick with PC version. You can use your dual sense anyway right? You'll probably get better framerate and resolution
@NEStalgia So it can't be counted as the largest single player release ever because it's from China? We need an american or english spoken title to be the greatest ever?
Game is good to play, looks amazing an 2.2 million players worldwide. Doesn't matter if most are in China it is still the biggest ever.
My friend pre ordered it. Just got to the main title, and things are looking pretty good so far. Not much to judge yet, but if it was anything near CP2077, I think it'd show.
@somnambulance I bought the game on PS4, pre ordered. Managed to finish the game and get a refund. Now I own a physical copy I snatched for super cheap with al the contents.
I hope Wukong is a good game, really planning on getting this one soon. I never preorder anymore.
I think being a copy of Overwatch doesn't help much. They present the characters as if they're doing missions they're being hired for & that you'll explore many different worlds.
I don't get that feeling when you're playing over and over modes like "king of the hill" or "team death match". How are you being hired for a mission if you're supposed to take over certain areas of the map.
Maybe I'd be more interested if this was actually a mission based game (more like Helldivers 2) where you team up with friends and pick your characters for each mission. Makes more sense to have "explorable worlds". Each season could bring a new world with new missions. And you could have certain missions that other players/teams can also accept and try to kill your crew and get the goods.
I get turned off when the "story" talks about freedom, exploration etc, but in the end nothing of that is part of the game, it's just a PvP where you replay the 6 possible scenarios over and over
@Jett I don't care much about RT. But the fact we can't get all games to run on 60FPS, that does bother me. My TV is 1080, so I settle for 1080 / 60 fps. But when not all games on the "new" (current) gen hit that mark, it's very, very unsatisfying.
@Terra_Custodes Exactly. And now we're supposed to blindly embrace PS5 pro so we can actually get 60fps? Or ray tracing? RT was one of the main basic features of "new generation".
I have a base PS5, extra controller, charging base and 2 tb ssd. Wonder what kind of pc I'd have been able to build with this kind of cash. At least I'll know exactly what I'm getting.
Don't get me wrong, I'm 36 and always loved consoles. Played on pc but almost always on console. And now I'm like, why? They lie to us when they don't even need to. I would've bought PS5, everyone would. No one really actually bought exclusively for RT. I'll still play, just don't make me feel Im getting something I'm not.
@freddquadros Hey fellow BR! Where you from? Base game prices at R$350, more or less, forces us to be very wise with our options. I'll wait to get this on physical edition so I can lend to my friends and then trade or sell. I played Jedi Survivor and Spider man 2 and sold the both for the same price I bought (already got them used). If you're in Rio, we could expand the swap pool.
I don't know id you're the other dude from BR I found here and added (my memory is ***** these days). If you're not, feel free to add me. My name here is my PSN account as well.
If Super Earth didn't give the direct command to eliminate the players, then isn't it just pure treason to kill fellow Helldivers? You're in the field to obey democracy. This isn't anarchy.

PS5 PRO - The console that allows you to play the ps5 games in decent state.
Are you ready to finally really, for real this time, play PS5 games?
Just $700 without a stand OR disc drive!
Re: PS5 Pro Makes Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Look Like a Whole New Game

@naruball I think the stories had more low moments than the first, but overall we got a bigger game with new mechanics, another playable character with his own set of moves and storyline.
Not a perfect game, but a very good one. Looking for a cheap disc version to have in my permanent library.
Re: Poll: One Year Later, How Would You Rate Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5?
I Just think Kraven should've been venom. Would've made much more sense & Harry / the suit could be other playable characters in other games.
The suit could have been corrupted by Kraven and become Venom.
Re: Poll: One Year Later, How Would You Rate Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5?
I think we tend to over expect most of the times. First game was great, and I think no one really expected to be so blown away. I personally loved the story, they could just script and film.
So the second one we get a 2nd playable Spider man, bigger map, new mechanics, new skills etc.
We don't need a game that just flips the world upside down every single time, innovating everything. The game is super solid.
Re: Sony Now Selling Refurbished PS5 Consoles
@DualWielding Came here just to say exactly that. It's ridiculous.
Re: PS5 Pro Prompts Sony's Disc Drive to Rocket Up the Charts
Starting to lose my respect for this page. They are charging a pro model 700 bucks, without a stand and without a drive and they're being flexible? That's a joke.
We want a drive, that's why they are selling out. If we didn't, they wouldn't sell, would they? They are ripping us off, when we don't want a 100% digital future.
They are super flexible as well because they are offering us a variety of Live Service games, huh? Like Concord.
Re: The Last of Us PS5 Is Available Now with PS Plus Extra, Premium
Re: Ghost of Yotei Is the Ghost of Tsushima Sequel We Needed, Slashing to PS5 in 2025
@AdamNovice Thanks, was actually wondering if we'd get a glimpse of Jin in this new one. Pretty safe to say we won't, then...
Still extremely excited for this....
Re: Days Gone PS5 Remaster Rumours Start to Snowball
@freddquadros Came here to say EXACTLY that. If this helps us get DG2, I'm in. Seriously will begin keeping an eye out for physycail PS4 editions (or buy digital if super super cheap), hoping it'll get me a discount when this new verison comes out (got LoU2 for 49 reais, digital. Paid another 50 reais for the LoU2 PS5 version)
Re: PS5 Pro Shows Real Promise in First Expert Analysis
Thanks
Re: The Crew Motorfest's Generous PS5, PS4 Update Looks Like an Entire New Game
Can we agree to leave the phrase "live service done right" alone? 2nd article in a week in these lines.
Re: Soapbox: Astro's Playroom PS5 Did Live Service and You Didn't Even Notice
There is a very clear difference between
Re: Black Myth: Wukong's Sales Top 18 Million in Two Weeks on PS5, PC
@Gamer83 Thanks, my thoughts exactly. I am curious about numbers in each market, but that does not take anything away from the clear record breaking / making hit Wukong is.
Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Design Seemingly Leaked
@madmaxrules If it's taking on the same model of the slim, then we should be able to use the detachable drive for ps5 slim on the pro.
Re: Concord (PS5) - Live Service Debut Beats the Hate with Stellar Presentation and Good Gameplay
Re: Site News: Where's Our Concord PS5, PC Review?
@naruball Understandable you wouldn't waste your time reading about a game you're not interested in.
Obviously there are people that are different from you, go figure.
Re: Black Myth: Wukong Has Sold an Astonishing 10 Million Copies in Three Days on PS5, PC
Re: Black Myth: Wukong Has Sold an Astonishing 10 Million Copies in Three Days on PS5, PC
Re: Black Myth: Wukong Has Sold an Astonishing 10 Million Copies in Three Days on PS5, PC
Re: Black Myth: Wukong (PS5) - A Spectacularly Creative Action Romp
@Fiendish-Beaver No that you asked me, but if your PC is high end, I'd stick with PC version. You can use your dual sense anyway right? You'll probably get better framerate and resolution
Re: Black Myth: Wukong Becomes Steam's Biggest Ever Single Player Launch
@NEStalgia So it can't be counted as the largest single player release ever because it's from China? We need an american or english spoken title to be the greatest ever?
Game is good to play, looks amazing an 2.2 million players worldwide. Doesn't matter if most are in China it is still the biggest ever.
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
@somnambulance
My friend pre ordered it. Just got to the main title, and things are looking pretty good so far. Not much to judge yet, but if it was anything near CP2077, I think it'd show.
Seems we're safe.
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
@somnambulance I bought the game on PS4, pre ordered. Managed to finish the game and get a refund. Now I own a physical copy I snatched for super cheap with al the contents.
I hope Wukong is a good game, really planning on getting this one soon. I never preorder anymore.
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
@somnambulance I was thinking the same exact thing. Although thePC version of CB 2077 wasn't full on broken, but it was also messy.
Re: Preview: Ignore The Haters, Concord Is a Good PS5 Shooter We Can't Wait to Play More Of
Seems cool but doesn't justify wasting cash over any other game I'm aiming to play
Re: Concord PS5, PC Has Six Action-Packed Modes at Launch
I get turned off when the "story" talks about freedom, exploration etc, but in the end nothing of that is part of the game, it's just a PvP where you replay the 6 possible scenarios over and over
Re: PS5 Packaging No Longer Mentions 8K, Some Fans Accuse Sony of False Advertising
If it was on the box and then removed without any explanation from Sony, yes. It's false advertising.
Re: Poll: How Much Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?
@Jett I don't care much about RT. But the fact we can't get all games to run on 60FPS, that does bother me. My TV is 1080, so I settle for 1080 / 60 fps. But when not all games on the "new" (current) gen hit that mark, it's very, very unsatisfying.
Re: Poll: How Much Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?
Re: Two Star Wars Outlaws Expansions Will Arrive After PS5 Launch
@freddquadros Hey fellow BR! Where you from? Base game prices at R$350, more or less, forces us to be very wise with our options. I'll wait to get this on physical edition so I can lend to my friends and then trade or sell. I played Jedi Survivor and Spider man 2 and sold the both for the same price I bought (already got them used). If you're in Rio, we could expand the swap pool.
I don't know id you're the other dude from BR I found here and added (my memory is ***** these days). If you're not, feel free to add me. My name here is my PSN account as well.
Tamo junto!
Re: Cowardly Helldivers Turn on Malevelon Creek Veterans, Targeting Noble Cape Wearers
If Super Earth didn't give the direct command to eliminate the players, then isn't it just pure treason to kill fellow Helldivers? You're in the field to obey democracy. This isn't anarchy.
