Re: A Lot of PS4 Owners Have Yet to Upgrade to PS5

YorkshireNed

Kudos to Sony for still supporting those who can't afford a PS5 upgrade. I was an early adopter but, honestly, it just feels like a fancier way to play existing games. There's no revolution in gaming, it just looks nicer and loads faster. Previous next-gen consoles would always have all these flashy games that only their generation coud run. I think a lot of it is down to how people play games now. With a lot of gamers using gaming PCs, the expectation of new games is just to be higher res and faster framerate rather than any big revolution.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Collector's Edition Will Set You Back an Eye-Watering £330 / $350

Imagine how you'd feel if you smacked down all that cash and the game turned out to be awful? Plus, I remembered getting the special edition of 7 Remake when it was on special offer, naively thinking the art book would be a PDF or Kindle file and the soundtrack would be a flac or mp3 download. Nope, they were just apps for the Playstation that provided me with seconds of enjoyment.

Re: Sony Removing Some Purchased Films, Movies from Users' Accounts

@MiaowMinx yes, they did that to me once. The audiobook was not available any more but when I searched the store it was still there and I could not spot any difference.

What worries me is that we seem to be heading into losing so much art (music, games, film) if we only release them digitally. It's going to be a repeat of all those lost films and TV shows of the 20th century.

Re: British Gas Blasted for Advising Customers to Turn Off Consoles Like PS5, PS4

Lordy, I haven't lived in the UK for six years, haven't been a British Gas customer for over fifteen but I'll never forget what an awful company they are. Privatization seemed to turn them from a handy public utility into the mafia. I remember once having the misfortune to answer the phone work to the most vampiric salesman ever who said he was going to switch us to them and tell my boss I did it

Re: Warner Bros Allegedly Making Brawler with Fred Flinstone, Gandalf, and Batman

It's a lovely idea until you remember that Nintendo will spend years developing Smash Bros and then obsessively tweaking and balancing it for years afterwards while this will be banged together in the basement in six months and get two patches made by the work experience kid whose desk is in an actual cupboard. Then they'll be confused why it didn't earn them millions
