Looks like a nice idea. But just by looking at this article (with only a couple of likes besides mine) which has no comments made (besides this one), and YouTube's video with less than 9k views, there are not a lot of people on board with this.

(Maybe its my cynical side talking but) it looks like a mobile game which of course means will be bloated with microtransactions. Feels like no amount of sands of time will be enough to return Ubisoft to its (better) humble original roots.

Are we back in 2000? All this arcade-style games are having a true Renaissance and I personally love it.

@Feena @KidRyan Well, the mobile gacha game roots are still there so they will probably charge full price for the game plus microtransactions later on.

Godd@mn it, I want to jump on this franchise and complete all the games but they just keep adding more and more. No time to even get started.

Not gonna lie, holding a cat as a weapon seems unconventional for the cover (compared to the katana, the sniper rifle and the guns). Other than that, animation and combat bits look dope.

Speaking the unpopular thought here: Hope Sony is not rushing things. I would totally hate to see an incredible game only to find a half-baked final boss and a poorly made ending.

Well, jokes aside, if this idea is well-implemented count me in. A great story doesn't always need bells and whistles to make a game. Sometimes the chill/slice-of-life is excellent as well.

I love my girl Aloy but I don't see HFW winning more than one award (at best). It will be nominated in a few categories but it is not meant to be, especially with the competition this year. Tough luck for the Nora huntress. Also it is sort of amazing for 50% YES and 50% NO for a new Konami game.

The description alone gives me bad multiplayer/P2W/Gacha-Hell vibes. Definitely avoiding it like a plague.

I would love to get the game physical (and I mean the actual content, not a 150mb installer-ish file to download the rest of the game), but here in the Slums where I currently live, a physical game costs even more than the digital version at full price. And I am dead serious, DB:Kakarot is around USD80 when you can get the digital version at USD18 from the PS store.

Story had a terrible ending and more than a few flaws. No arguments there (Sylens offering Aloy to join him, are you kidding me!?) But as a video game, HFW was one of the best games of the year: From the larger map, engaging combat, and a bunch of quality-of-life improvements made this pretty much a classic. Count me in for a DLC, or at least to give it a chance.

Healthy work conditions beat a fancy office anytime. If they make you hate your job, even a desktop made of gold will be worthless, and even worse, as you might end up banging your head against it when the proverbial sh*t hits the fan.

But seriously, about time. I recall having to check the different versions of the game in the web and add them to my library because I couldn't find them by searching on the store itself. And some of them stop being available (or something like that) once the full game is released.

@nessisonett Absolutely. it is time for the people behind the game to really shine. Like a beauty pageant, but for game developers.

Also you can use game-specific pickup lines and flirt puns and the others will actually gets it. It hurts like hell when they don't (I have been told. By a friend. It never happened to me. Not at all )

Mass Effect Legendary Edition. This is an absolute winner for PS Plus Essential. Funny enough Sony just took the 25% off from all tiers, but to be honest, USD60 doesn't sound so bad out of the sudden.

@Digit2021 Likewise. In fact, it would one huge improvement if the requirement was "Playing the game" to get the rewards. Not only implies you bought the game (or you got it from a PS Plus tier, which is not free either). Even a small reward would be preferable to paying full-price for a game just because of a limited time period.

I completely agree that quality over quantity as a goal for the service. Especially for those who have the cash to actually pay for PS Plus Extra (i.e. adults with a job and not a lot of actual time to play). Still, Sony seems to be a bit too keen on trial-and-error approaches with these: Premium seems more like a scam than the highest tier and the PlayStation Stars will be on diapers for a good couple of years (or they might even go prematurely defunct before a chance to improve).

My low self-esteem doesn't allow me to play any game against any opponent that can post comments or has a sense of self.

I won't mind one way or the other. Although as every year, I wish a game coming from AA (or an indie) studio were a serious contender for a GOTY to get the recognition they deserve.
In addition, to be honest, besides the fact Horizon Forbidden West was released around the same time as Elder Ring (which played against the Sony exclusive), I personally think the game took a step in the wrong direction with the story, leaving HFW as great but not the greatest of 2022.

"Monetization" and "Naughty Dog" should not be placed together in the same phrase. I don't like this, not one bit. Well, if you think I will buy The Last Of Us 3 no matter what, then you are absolutely right!
