So I guess everyone who doesn't already own a PS5 will get priced out now, great move by sony. Console prices should go down over the course of its lifespan, not up...
I might check out Hogwarts Legacy, Blue Prince and Lost Records. Overal a pretty solid month, but not sure if any of those games are gonna stick for me.
I really don't like the slow paced soulslike combat that poe2 is trying to pull off. It really doesn't fit the arpg genre imo. I'll probably just play Last Epoch on pc this season.
"Our hobby is getting increasingly expensive, folks, and it’s unclear what any of us can do about it."
I would argue it's cheaper than ever. The game market is so oversaturated that you can get almost every game for dirt cheap if not free if you're willing to wait.
You can get a full gaming library on the Epic store alone for free.
Subscription service offer a wide array of games for a pretty low cost.
There is literally no reason to pay for full price games nowadays.
Netflix boss is full of BS. But what I do think is that each newer generation of consoles is becoming increasingly pointless. Gameplay has barely changed in the last 3 generations of consoles. With the graphics approaching realism we come to a point where there just isn't anything to upgrade in the traditional sense.
I don't really care anymore about soulsborne games. I finished DS 1 through 3 and got progressively less interested in the genre. So I tried Bloodborne for a few hours and it's just more of the same in a setting I don't like.
@Markatron84 the thing is, the AI doesn't know how many fingers an image has. It's not intelligent at all.
It just copy/paste works from its database together to create some frankenstein image. But since hands are always in different positions it doesn't really know what a hand looks like.
I just started my first Yakuza game and while I enjoy it, I doubt I'm gonna binge the whole series. The insane rate in wich they put out bew titles is a major turn off.
So what, you feed it some youtube Let's Plays and you get your own ***** version of said game? Oh boy, that won't flood the stores with even more shovelware
Shinobi looks like the only game I could see myself actually buying (if it's not a full price release). I'm really burned out with AAA games lately so it's hard to get excited for those anymore.
The biggest problem with the roguelike aspect in Returnal was that it wasn't rewarding. There weren't any cool builds to explore, it just evolved into getting your favorite gun and as much health as possible.
The malignancy/malfunction system is really cool in theory, but the rewards are kinda dissapointing for how brutal some malfunctions can be. Once I realized that I just should ignore any malignancy, the game got a lot easier and my runs became more consistent.
It was kinda annoying that the game I was playing (Temtem) just gave a black screen and no indication that it was a PSN outage. So I reinstalled the game a few times and got on with other games.

Re: Rumour: Ubisoft Still Chasing Live Service with New Battle Royale Now in Development
It's more likely that the execs identified a gap in their bank accounts and want to pit out a monetization driven live service game.
Re: Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Introduces Second Playable Character in Slick Gameplay Trailer
This looks great!
Re: Poll: 5 Years Later, How Do You Feel About Final Fantasy 7 Remake?
I had a good time playing through it, but let's be honest, almost all of the game is filler/bloat.
I'm never planning to revisit the game again and I'm not even sure if I would play through the 2nd part once it becomes available on PS+

Re: Marathon a 'Premium', Paid for Game on PS5, But It's Not $70
Funny how the word "premium" has lost all its value.

Re: Wuthering Waves Fanbase in Flames After Dev Makes Some Undies Edits
Oh no, I can't look at the panties of a (probably underaged) anime girl no more. What will I do with my life now 😫
Re: Nintendo Is Displaying Hubris Which Would Make Even PS3 Era Sony Blush
It's almost like Nintendo forgot what happened to the WiiU

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Potential $80 PS5 Games?
The only full priced games I buy are €20 indies that I really want. PS plus extra usually has everything I need.
I won't support Nintendo on this, hopefully the Switch 2 sales will suffer because of it.
Nintendo has always been a company that thrives when it's struggling imo, they always seem to mess things up after a huge succes.
Re: Poll: PS5 Fans, Are You Sold on the Nintendo Switch 2?
My biggest issue with the switch were never the specs, but the flimsy feeling of the device and the terrible joycons.
I wish they'd gone with a thicker studier console.
Right now I see the switch mainly as a holiday console to play indie titles on.

Re: Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Dev Won't Add Mini Map, Discovery a Key Part of Promising PS5 RPG
Huge dealbreaker for me. I have a terrible sense of direction and I really don't want to play more games wheren I'm lost all the time.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Assassin's Creed Shadows?
Never cared about Assassins Creed and I don't like open world games, so I'm sitting this one out.
Re: Another 8 Great PS5, PS4 Games Will Leave PS Plus Extra in April
Guess I gotta hurry on with my Animal Well playthrough
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for March 2025?
PoP looks nice, but I'm just worried what is gonna leave the service this month
Re: No Rest for the Wicked Remains Stunning in Extended Gameplay Update
@Northern_munkey The clunky combat that's balanced around the dodgeroll is way more inspired by soulsgames then any other arpg
Re: No Rest for the Wicked Remains Stunning in Extended Gameplay Update
I love me a good ARPG. But I really dislike soulslikes.
I fell off PoE2 pretty hard because of the soulslike elements. So I probably skip this one.
Re: Another PS5 Live Service Title Does a Concord, Game and Dev to Close Two Weeks After PS5 Launch
Never heard if the game and I still don't care
Re: Trails in the Sky PS5 Remake Looks Outstanding in New Screenshots, Trailer
I love jrpgs but I find it really hard to get into the trails games. I might check it out in a sale sometime tho
Re: 12 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for March 2025 Announced
Just Prince of Persia for me. Btw wasn't that 2nd chapter of Lost Records supposed to be released on PS extra this month?
Re: Activision Confirms Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 Won't Be Free Roam on PS5, PS4
The 2 minute format feels like such an outdated mechanic. It was the major reason why I quit the 1+2 remake.
So I doubt I'll be getting this one.
Re: 3 New PS Plus Essential Games Live Now, Including PS5 RPG Dragon Age
Pretty excited to try out dragon age after work
Re: Promising PS5 Survival Horror in Post Trauma, Out This Month
I hope it reviews well as I love these kind of old school survival horror games.
The trailer looks really bad tho.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Monster Hunter Wilds?
I'd kinda want to get back into Monster Hunter at some point. But for now it's just too big of a time sink.
Re: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for March 2025 Announced
So the only reason DA: V tanked is because some snowflakes got offended?
I'm definitely gonna check it out!
Re: Balatro Wins Appeal Against PEGI After Being Accused of Including Gambling
PEGI 12 is still way too harsh for Balatro imo. But I'm glad they changed it.
I doubt these PEGI changes will finally start giving PEGI 18 ratings to games with predatory lootboxes, but one might hope.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for February 2025?
It's mostly a ***** month because we're losing all the Tales games
Re: Reminder: PS Plus Extra, Premium Lose These 8 Games Next Week
Was looking forward to Tales of Arise, but I'm not gonna rush it.
Re: Housemarque's New PS5 Game Will Be a Little Less Punishing Than Returnal

Re: 9 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for February 2025 Announced
I was really hoping for some new JRPGs to enjoy, since most of them already left PS+. SaGa frontiers remastered doesn't sound very appealing.

Re: Rumour: Xbox's Fable, Killer Instinct, More to Join Forza Horizon 5 on PS5
I hope the Ori games come to PS5 at some point.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for February 2025?
One of the worst months in a while although I will try out High on Life.
Re: Mini Review: Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist (PS5) - Peak Metroidvania Action
The first one was fun, so I should definitely check this one out.
Re: Psychic Force Designer's New PS5, PS4 Shooter Sounds Like Anime Returnal
Loved the gameplay of Returnal, but hated the rogue-like aspect of it.
Hopefully this game can do it better.
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for February 2025 Announced
Pretty hyped to try out High on Life!
Re: Major Path of Exile 2 Update 0.1.1 Out Now on PS5, Patch Notes Are Massive
I fell off pretty hard since the game is still in a very rough shape. I'll probably check out the patch tho.
Re: 11 New Games Are Coming to PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week
Well guess it's time to finish the first GoW so I can start preparing for Ragnarok.
Re: Poll: Will the Switch 2 Compete with PS5?
Nintendo excels at screwing up after a major commercial succes. So let's just wait and see if they can break that cycle.
Re: Reminder: PS Plus Extra, Premium Lose These 11 Great Games in a Week
It really sucks that RE2 is leaving. I wanted to platinum it at some point.
Re: You'd Better Believe The Last of Us 2 Demands a PSN Account on PC
Pretty terrible to put that requirement in single player games. Then again it doesn't affect me because I'm never buying it anyway.
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog Is Now a Billion-Dollar Movie Franchise
Hopefully the movies are better then that Frontiers game.
Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' 20 Most Anticipated PS5 Games of 2025
None of those titles really seem interesting to me
