RE 7 is hands down my favorite of the series. I know a lot of people were put off by the first-person perspective but I think it really helped the game shine as a claustrophobic, in-your-face survival horror game. You felt underpowered and vulnerable the whole time and the Louisiana swamp setting really made the experience all that much better.
I really liked RE Village, but 7 will always be remembered as the return to horror the series so desperately needed.
These days when I think of Ubisoft I think of two things: Rayman (which I love) and bland 3rd person, open world games that all feel and look the same.
Horizon, Uncharted, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Spider-Man, The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, Infamous, Killzone, Sly Cooper, etc... Sony has a large and varied collection of IP under their sleeve.
The question is what should they do going forward?
First, strengthen your partnerships with Japanese publishers like Square, Capcom, and Bandai.
Second, establish new studios (which I realize takes time) to develop new IPs. These IPs should focus on genres that Sony's 1st party offerings currently don't cover: first person shooters, survival horror, etc.
I agree with a lot of people in the comments- a TLOU remake would seem like wasted potential. I enjoyed both games and the Uncharted series but I think ND should focus on a new IP.
Pretty sleek, although I kind of wish they offered a black console as well. Will definitely be getting the version WITH the disc drive. Any word on the console supporting Dolby Vision?
@LiamCroft Considering the RT score is based on twice the amount of reviews that the Metacritic score is, I'd say RT provides a better picture of what the general consensus is thus far.
Not to mention, movies topically score much lower on Metacritic than on RT.
Wonder Woman: 93 on RT, 76 on Metacritic
Shazam: 90 on RT, 71 on Metacritic
1917: 89 on RT, 78 on Metacritic
Rocketman: 89 on RT, 69 on Metacritic
Jojo Rabbit: 80 on RT, 58 on Metacritic
etc, etc...
As a huge PlayStation fan I'm glad to see Nintendo having some great exclusives as well. There's no reason they can't have great exclusives, just as we do.
As for the review bombers, get a life...or better yet buy a Switch and play the game yourself.
@GodGamer Yes I was referring to your comment on QTE games. But I do agree with you on reviews, which are for the most part someone's subjective opinion, which will not be everyone's experience.
@GodGamer I highly disagree. But these type of games are only as good as their story, characters and setting. If those are not interesting, the rest of the game will suffer, since the gameplay is not substantial.
This game is getting 9/10 and 8/10 across the bored on all other review sites and YouTube channels. 81 on Metacritic right now with most people saying this is great if you like Remedy's games.

Re: Unsurprisingly, Life Is Strange PS4's Remaster for PS4 Looks Familiar
@ZeroAbbadon I just checked the PS Store and I only see a PS4 version.
Re: Kao the Kangaroo Is Bouncing Back in PS5, PS4 Reboot
@Kaizen753 Hell yeah. I second that!
Re: Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection's PS5 Trophies Are a Complete Bust
Never gave a d**n about trophies. I play games for the experience.
Re: Kao the Kangaroo Is Bouncing Back in PS5, PS4 Reboot
Looks cool and I'm happy to see a native PS5 release.
Re: Unsurprisingly, Life Is Strange PS4's Remaster for PS4 Looks Familiar
Totally dropped the ball in not having a remaster for PS5/XBX as well.
Re: It's Happening! Anticipated PS5, PS4 Action RPG Elden Ring Goes Gold
I royally suck at FromSoft games, so I will be getting Horizon, but Elden Ring looks really cool and I might pick it up later in the year.

Re: EA Is the Next Major Publisher Tipped for a Takeover
IMO, Sony should focus on acquiring individual studios rather than publishers.
Remedy, Supermassive, Bungie, Quantic Dream, etc…
And as I said in another comment, revive/reboot some of your older IP.
Re: Don't Worry, Harry Potter Fans! Warner Bros Brazil Says Hogwarts Legacy Is Coming in 2022
The sub-heading made me chuckle 😂
Re: Poll: Would You Still Buy PlayStation Consoles Without Activision Blizzard Games?
@hanoka That would be nothing short of awesome.
If not, I do think Sony could either revive some of their old horror IP (Siren?) or develop a new franchise.
Re: Poll: Would You Still Buy PlayStation Consoles Without Activision Blizzard Games?
Definitely...no question.
Horizon, Uncharted, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Spider-Man, The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, Infamous, Killzone, Sly Cooper, etc... Sony has a large and varied collection of IP under their sleeve.

Re: Will Call of Duty and Other Activision Blizzard Games Come to PS5, PS4?
Other than COD, I really don't play much Activision stuff, but this still is not good.
MS better keep their hands off Square Enix, Capcom, Warner Bros., etc.
Re: Microsoft Buys Call of Duty Publisher Activision Blizzard
Whether or not you like Activision or Call of Duty, this is definitely NOT good for PlayStation.
This is actually very concerning.
Re: Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Event Set for 10th April
@meistergeister I'd s*** my pants.
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Missing from Square Enix 2022 Lineup Article
Forspoken is in my top 5 most anticipated for the year.
Might also get LiS Remastered. Just finished True Colors and I need something to scratch my LiS itch for awhile.
And honestly, I'd love if they gave Kingdom Hearts III a native PS5 version. Full 4K/60 fps and DualSense support would be awesome.
Re: Stunning Rise of the Tomb Raider Boxart Shared to Mark Series' 25th Anniversary
I love Tomb Raider. Can't you tell by my avatar?
Re: PlayStation Reiterates God of War Ragnarok 2022 Release Date
Yeah, I’d also say Oct/Nov.
Considering how much of a visual stunner the first game was, I can’t wait to see Ragnarok!
Re: The New Uncharted Film Poster Isn't Particularly Exciting
@lolwhatno
Yeah, I don't really post here with much consistency lol. But thanks for the warm welcome!
Re: The New Uncharted Film Poster Isn't Particularly Exciting
@GamingFan4Lyf
Agreed. After seeing Fillion's take on Drake, I can't see anyone else in the role.
Re: Updated PlayStation Patent Has Fans in Backwards Compatibility Frenzy, But It's a Reach
Personally, I would love if more PS4 titles got PS5 upgrades.
Re: Reaction: Can We Chill Out About Sony's Commitment to PS4, Please?
@BritneyfR_ee
Omg... Alien Isolation is a solid 8.5/10 for me.
Re: Reaction: Can We Chill Out About Sony's Commitment to PS4, Please?
I made the mistake of going to IGN and reading the comments on this; talk about toxic.
I'm not at all angry or worried by this move by Sony but more just apathetic.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's First-Party Exclusives Will Shine Once Again in 2022
@BritneyfR_ee Haven't yet, but I will definitely make sure to try it out soon. Thanks!
Re: Soapbox: Sony's First-Party Exclusives Will Shine Once Again in 2022
I don't know how but, God willing, I managed to snap a PS5 off Walmart last week and it arrived on Christmas Eve.
I've enjoyed playing R&C so far and I'm extremely pumped for Horizon II.
On the 3rd party front, I'm especially excited for the Calisto Protocol.

Re: Round Up: Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Reviews Could Cancel Valentine's Day Dates
What a BS article. The movie currently sits at 70% Fresh on RT.
Cherry picking certain reviews to make the movie look worse than it is.
Re: Rumour: Resident Evil 8 Has Zombies and Werewolves, First-Person, Chris Redfield Returns
Glad they decided to keep the first person camera. It definitely made RE7 that much more scarier and claustrophobic.
Can't wait for this and RE3!
Re: PS5 Is a Key Influence on Sony's Upcoming Range of TVs
I just hope the PS5 (and the Xbox Series X) support the Dolby Vision HDR format.
Re: The Outer Worlds Is Purportedly Not Enhanced on PS4 Pro, Runs at 4K on Xbox One X
Not having HDR was a bad move.
Re: Forget PS5, The Last of Us 2 Looks Unbelievable in 4K PS4 Pro Gameplay
I'm assuming this will have HDR support?
Re: The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer Ditched, Naughty Dog Confirms
Makes me want to buy the game even more knowing all resources are going into the single player campaign!
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS4 Box Art Warns Us Not to Get on Ellie's Bad Side
Looks really generic. How many box arts have a scowling person on them?
Re: Resident Evil Spin-Off Project Resistance Will Have a Story-Based Offline Mode
Hoping the single player isn't just a tacked-on afterthought. It doesn't have to be a full campaign but at least 6-8 hours.
Re: BioWare Reveals What's Next for ANTHEM, and Proceeds to Announce Absolutely Nothing
Anthem was and is absolutely terrible. A desolate shell of a game.
Re: MediEvil Is Looking Spookily Good in New PS4 Gameplay Video
Is this confirmed to be 4K with HDR support?
Re: Reminder: Project Resistance Teaser Trailer Arrives Later Today
Holding out for a single player game, but I guess as long as it's good I'll be happy with whatever it is.

Re: Feature: Which Studios Could Sony Realistically Acquire?
I'd prefer Remedy, but any of these studios would be positive additions.
Re: The Outer Worlds Invites You to the World of Halcyon in Latest Trailer
My MOST anticipated game for the rest of the year.
Re: New Resident Evil Being Teased as Project Resistance
This could be a few things:
Resident Evil 8
Resident Evil 3 Remake
Resident Evil Revelations 3
or
A Resident Evil co-op/multiplayer game

Re: The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan - An Unexplosive Opening
After PushSquare gave Control a 7/10 I don't know if I can fully trust their reviews. Bought Control yesterday and so far a 9/10 experience.

DreamcastGuy gave this a 9.5/10.
So excited for this game 😊
