Re: Square Enix Reveals New Final Fantasy VII Anniversary Logos, Hopes You're 'Ready for the Year Ahead'

It won't be anything to do with FF7R Part 2. That game is definitely 2024/2025. Once they kick of this Spring with the FFXVI re-reveal event, it will be all about XVI marketing-wise which I expect is a Holiday 2022 or Q1 2023 title. Yoshi P. said he won't show it again until there is a release date attached so I think Square Enix's focus will be on 16 next before pivoting to the FF7R sequel.

Re: EA Is the Next Major Publisher Tipped for a Takeover

Playstation losing Dragon Age and Mass Effect would be a real sad state of affairs. I own an Xbox Series S as my secondary console but would want to play those games in full 4K on my PS5. But I have a feeling Microsoft would love to take EA so they have Bioware.

Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4

Microsoft can't make their own quality AAA exclusives so they buy the people that do. It's unfortunate, because their way to win this generation is just acquire everyone which leaves nothing for Sony. At this point I expect MS buys Capcom, Square Enix and EA, keep every popular multiplatform off PS5...sad state of affairs too because while I own both I hate the Xbox controller and would hate to see the FFXIV Playstation playerbase screwed out of not seeing future expansions.

Re: Raw Forspoken Gameplay Features Combat, Menus

jmac1686

Are we really judging framerate on a 4-minute clip of a game that isn't even releasing until May? Seems a bit early to complain about such things. My biggest issue I've had since the beginning is the facial animations look like they are being done by AI rather then customized lipsyncing and seem off.

Re: Movie Review: Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City - Reshuffled Reboot Misses the Mark

Sony only gave them a $25 million budget. They are never going to give a video game adaption $100+ million like Resident Evil. Personally, I loved the movie and thought the slow build up was very Carpenter-esque and Assault on Precinct 13. I also think the two games actually lend themselves to being blended into one film, but the movie need at least another 25 minutes or so to flesh out the two storylines. Either way, loved the movie. So-called "fans" were hating it before it even released so basically hated it out of existence. Sadly, too because I was excited for a Code Veronica sequel. Now you all can have your beloved Anderson films and the absolutely god awful RE Netflix series that sounds worse than those movies combined.

Re: Hands On: FromSoftware Puts Its All into Elden Ring

I was so looking forward to this game and for some reason got it into my head it would be different from their previous offerings and be more accessible. Sadly, from the previews and reactions to the playtest this seems to be just an open world Dark Souls with the same crushing and brutal difficulty.

I don't play hard games. That is my choice. I don't find challenging games fun and don't like my gaming sessions to be frustrating. I play for the world, exploration, story and usually set games to Easy if they have it just to up my enjoyment. So sadly, this game is now off my purchase radar. For those who love brutally hard games, I hope it is is everything you imagined.

Re: Talking Point: Did PlayStation Showcase 2021 Deliver on the Hype?

jmac1686

One of the WORST showcases I've ever seen. The fact PS5 seems to now be the Marvel HQ and I DESPISE all things superhero makes me want to throw my PS5 in the trash. Forspoken has awful facial animations and God of War Ragnorok looks so last gen it could have been released in 2018. Hated the entire thing. Seriously considering selling my PS5 at this point. The focus seems to be on games I'd never play.

Re: Biomutant (PS4) - The Classic Case of What Could Have Been

jmac1686

I've been watching actual players play it and seems you barely scratched the surface, with people claiming these open up in the 40-50 hour mark. The map is also huge and I've watched people find tons of things off the beaten path and exploring seems worth it.

I look forward to playing it.

Re: No Plans for More Final Fantasy VII Remake DLC Following Episode Yuffie

jmac1686

With Wutai playing a much larger role in the Remake, it makes sense to bring Yuffie in earlier since I expect her role is going to be greatly expanded in Remake 2.

I do think people need to realize Part 2 is most likely 2023/2024. I think XVI is going to be the big 2022 title since they have a big event this year for it planned and it has been in development over 4 years.
