@LiamCroft They've redone all of the prerendered backgrounds unlike the FF remasters. All character models redone. It looks beautiful compared to the original. "Awful" for a remaster it looks like the best SE has put out.
It won't be anything to do with FF7R Part 2. That game is definitely 2024/2025. Once they kick of this Spring with the FFXVI re-reveal event, it will be all about XVI marketing-wise which I expect is a Holiday 2022 or Q1 2023 title. Yoshi P. said he won't show it again until there is a release date attached so I think Square Enix's focus will be on 16 next before pivoting to the FF7R sequel.
This goes directly against what the developers just revealed, saying the game is larger than the first and takes hundreds of hours to complete the main story and side quests.
Playstation losing Dragon Age and Mass Effect would be a real sad state of affairs. I own an Xbox Series S as my secondary console but would want to play those games in full 4K on my PS5. But I have a feeling Microsoft would love to take EA so they have Bioware.
Microsoft can't make their own quality AAA exclusives so they buy the people that do. It's unfortunate, because their way to win this generation is just acquire everyone which leaves nothing for Sony. At this point I expect MS buys Capcom, Square Enix and EA, keep every popular multiplatform off PS5...sad state of affairs too because while I own both I hate the Xbox controller and would hate to see the FFXIV Playstation playerbase screwed out of not seeing future expansions.
Are we really judging framerate on a 4-minute clip of a game that isn't even releasing until May? Seems a bit early to complain about such things. My biggest issue I've had since the beginning is the facial animations look like they are being done by AI rather then customized lipsyncing and seem off.
They aren't going to reverse the layoffs. Despite the shady way they did this, jobs are not a right. No one is entitled to one. If anything this walkout will let them easily identify who to fire next.
@Gamer83 And if they cast actors that looked identical to the game counterparts and dressed them exactly the same people would be screaming it was horrible cosplay. Nothing will ever satisfy you people. Hateful and horrible to the core.
Sony only gave them a $25 million budget. They are never going to give a video game adaption $100+ million like Resident Evil. Personally, I loved the movie and thought the slow build up was very Carpenter-esque and Assault on Precinct 13. I also think the two games actually lend themselves to being blended into one film, but the movie need at least another 25 minutes or so to flesh out the two storylines. Either way, loved the movie. So-called "fans" were hating it before it even released so basically hated it out of existence. Sadly, too because I was excited for a Code Veronica sequel. Now you all can have your beloved Anderson films and the absolutely god awful RE Netflix series that sounds worse than those movies combined.
I was so looking forward to this game and for some reason got it into my head it would be different from their previous offerings and be more accessible. Sadly, from the previews and reactions to the playtest this seems to be just an open world Dark Souls with the same crushing and brutal difficulty.
I don't play hard games. That is my choice. I don't find challenging games fun and don't like my gaming sessions to be frustrating. I play for the world, exploration, story and usually set games to Easy if they have it just to up my enjoyment. So sadly, this game is now off my purchase radar. For those who love brutally hard games, I hope it is is everything you imagined.
One of the WORST showcases I've ever seen. The fact PS5 seems to now be the Marvel HQ and I DESPISE all things superhero makes me want to throw my PS5 in the trash. Forspoken has awful facial animations and God of War Ragnorok looks so last gen it could have been released in 2018. Hated the entire thing. Seriously considering selling my PS5 at this point. The focus seems to be on games I'd never play.
I logged close to 200 hours in the main campaign. Just purchased the season pass and can't wait to spend another 100 hours in the new campaigns and other content. Love this game. Took a nice few months break and happy to return.
@get2sammyb did you see the same time that the app was having difficulties the entire Blue Box Games YouTube deleted all videos and their website is now gone with a blank page?
THANK GOD level scaling is an option. I am MAX power and levels and I would be in so much trouble. I love being a dual wielding spear GOD. Also, I adore this game so much and after 250+ hours still can't get enough.
Adore Valhalla and it keeps sucking me back in with each update. Currently have close to 225+ hours logged. My build for Eivor is Dual-Wield Spears and it is fantastic.
I have both the PS5 and Series X and of course prefer the Dual Sense due to the internal battery and charging. Not sure why Xbox continues to push double AAs and rechargeable battery packs.
@nicc83 I play games for the emotion, world aesthetic and music and story. This game just sucked me into the lore it created and the beauty of the gray and rain-covered world was just something I loved exploring. Everyone likes different things.
What I would love next in the TLOU2 world is a game like Lost Legacy starring Abby and Lev. Either once they hit Santa Barbara or a mid-quel that takes place during their journey as they sailed from Seattle to California.
I believe the Death Stranding Director's Cut will most likely be shown off with a Fall release. Playstation seems to just be like...hey we are selling like crazy and can do what we want.
This has been a good lesson on what NOT to do when advertising your indie game. Also, since when does a small indie game need an entire app to reveal trailers and gameplay?
I've been watching actual players play it and seems you barely scratched the surface, with people claiming these open up in the 40-50 hour mark. The map is also huge and I've watched people find tons of things off the beaten path and exploring seems worth it.
@jcboyer515 My problem with Man of Medan is the pacing kept building to a climax that never came. It just....abruptly ended. I was like what? That's it?
Man of Medan had such a cool set up but I feel like it was building to the climax and just....ended? Like after 2.5-3 hours it was over and I was left scratching my head. So abrupt.
I am still trying to figure out why the digital edition downloaded on PS5 is missing 2GB? Even with the patch it now says 88GB/90GB...could it be a language pack? Never had a game not show as "COMPLETED" before and it is fully installed and playing. Giving me OCD thinking I am missing something file-wise.
My frustration is the game was running great on Series X and 1.2 added in issues with pop-in that never existed before. Delayed textures seem to be rampant now when they never existed. While performance and stability seems to be great, it seems we are stuck in a fix one thing and break another.

I do think people need to realize Part 2 is most likely 2023/2024. I think XVI is going to be the big 2022 title since they have a big event this year for it planned and it has been in development over 4 years.
I think having the stories of RE1 and RE2 happening at the same time is an interesting take. As one group is in the mansion, the outbreak is occurring in Raccoon City.

Re: Chrono Cross Remaster Is Real, Adventures to PS4 in April
Game looks beautiful and the best it has ever looked. The fact they've redone the background art in HD unlike the FF remasters is fantastic to me.
