Very expected. I think that with the show version of Part 2, they might be able to help reframe some of the story telling where Abby is received better. I never had an issue with her motivations. And understood them and personally love Part 2. But I think there are ways they could reframe the storytelling to make her motivations clearer, so the audience isn't so onboard with Ellie's revenge plot, they can't accept Abby's story half later.
Personally I am loving it. It seems overly hated and overly targeted. I find Frey likeable and her reactions very reasonable. There are so many hidden dungeons, challenges and new bits of lore in the world to be discovered. It feels like many reviewers ignored everything but main missions and missed basically everything.
@ShogunRok I am very sensitive to motion blur, like even the tiniest really hurts my eyes/messes with my vision. If I can turn it off in games I do. Will this be a dealbreaker for me?
@mrpunisher They've said this is going to have a story, characters and production values on the same level as their single player titles. This isn't going to be free. No chance.
Horizon FW is my GOTY....a beautiful spectacle I lost myself in for more than 120+ hours. I can't wait for Horizon 3. I wish I liked God of War Ragnarok, but it was the ultimate disappointment for me. Abandoned it after 17 hours, a dull and meandering story with middling visuals. A true definition of an over hyped slog.
Looks gorgeous in Quality Mode with Ray Tracing and the 30 FPS is smooth and stable for me (but I am used to 30 so it never has bothered me). Game looks washed out in Performance where Ray Tracing mode the colors seem to be richer and more vibrant.
Now, I do remember Kotaku doing multiple articles on the game's main character being a gruff white man as a negative, but I don't feel the entire industry was making that point.
I feel like something is really wrong with me that I didn't connect with this game AT ALL. It's a quality AAA experience, that I felt nothing for. No like or dislike. Absolutely nothing, and after 20 hours uninstalled it and moved on. Again, the game has incredible production values, but I found the pacing to be all over the place and the level design very restricted and unimaginative compared to GOW 2018. Again, I get the reason the game is getting so much praise but I've never had a game like this just simply not do it for me. And I am sad and baffled about it.
No one is forcing them to buy it. I happily bought the Digital Deluxe edition and will love the hell out of it. And who are fans to say what warrants $70 and doesn't? They didn't make it. They didn't put the time into it.
@CynicalGamer Guess what? It isn't about you. I don't know why gamers feel so entitled these days they can demand and tell developers what they should be making.
@Uncharted2007 So, don't buy it. No one is forcing you. And guess what? ND is allowed to make any game they want and use whatever resources they want. So how about you take a seat, sweetie?
I'm not poor, so $70 is nothing to me. I purchased the Digital Deluxe which costs even more. Gaming isn't for folks who can't afford it. Want a cheap hobby? Take up knitting.
These over-dramatic reactions to NFTs crack me up. "Oh my god, the climate" "I am so traumatized by NFTS." None of these things will impact your life personally and those worrying about the planet? I will be long dead before I see the impact of NFTs so why do I care?
I proudly spent my $90 on it...and this will be a sales success, further solidifying more higher price tags for other games to scream and tear their hair out to. Makes me giddy. High-priced games are here to stay and I plan to further ensure it happens with my purchases.
I don't think it is an open world. The brief gameplay they did show has the pre-rendered backgrounds they utilized in the first game. I expect large, connected zones over a true open-world structure.
@Areus It is possible to keep the story and ending of Crisis Core intact....because FF7R didn't alter history until they defeated the whispers and transformed the timeline. Just a thought...
Launching a new IP during that packed fall period (that continues to add more games) would have been a disaster for an untested IP. Also, the game still looks super rough to me though that Luminious engine just plain sucks so I don't know how great that will get it.
I have to wonder if the more folks harass and threat the development team on social media, if they continue to push it back due to the overall rudeness of it all.
This game continues to bring me hours and hours of Viking joy. The beauty of the world, the atmosphere and Eivor keep bringing me back. 200+ hours and counting.
@Ryany As much as I loved The Quarry it is of an acquired taste. Also, compared to Until Dawn and the Dark Pictures Anthology they really dumbed down the QTEs which to me was a mistake. For a cinematic, story-driven game with minimal gameplay, it is best to at least have some complicated inputs to increase engagement.
I have zero idea why they chose to abandon the side-scrolling nature of the first two, which in my opinion makes the games so unique. I would love remasters of the first two over this cheap looking mess.
So is the PS5 more complicated to produce than the Xbox Series X or is it Microsoft securing more chips and moving to the head of the line in production that is creating the continued shortage?
RE3 (which I love) seems to look the best out of the bunch. RE7 to me still looked really poor (muddy textures) outside in the daylight. No real noticeable difference for me while playing it.
@themightyant They absolutely have and if you can't see it you need glasses. No seriously, book an appointment with an eye doctor. You also may be mentally unwell, so I would suggest an appointment with a neurologist.
Valhalla is the only AC game I've ever liked. I love Vikings, the Norse mythology and adored Eivor. I will continue to play the new content, the game is so beautiful to get lost in.
I think Remake Part 2 isn't coming until late 2024 or early 2025 so I highly doubt it is mentioned or we see anything from it. I would assume the game is coming to Xbox Series XIS though it is possible it stays exclusive.
I hope no one thinks this is going to be free. This is going to be a full-priced standalone game. And I KNOW folks who bought TLOU2 are going to flip out thinking they should get it free when it is no longer a mode but a huge new game itself.
The fact it is being built from the ground up and incorporating all new AI and animations is really impressive. Everything looks night and day compared to the original
I would argue taking Elder Scrolls away from Playstation really splices up the community since Elder Scrolls has a massive player base on Playstation...but it was originally exclusive to Xbox with Elder Scrolls 3. So....I can see them taking it back.
This is where I get wary of an EA acquisition because you know Microsoft would happily make Mass Effect an Xbox exclusive again and take away Dragon Age.
@TheCotters1985 To do the mansion film complete justice the budget would need to be huge and not worth the risk. From the snake to the Neptune and the variety of other sets and creatures needed, the film would cost way more than a studio would want to put into it.
@JB_Whiting It's interesting to see how your "disagreement" is written in a way where your opinion is the correct one and I am somehow wrong. But please, continue with your condescending, self-worshipping tone.
I adored Welcome to Raccoon City for its tone, music and overall late 90s vibe. Did everything work? No. But I think it was a really fantastic adaptation....this TV series looks like the Anderson films on steroids.

You are truly hard to please on every level. Every other reviewer praising the next-gen visuals.

Re: Actress Ella Balinska Anchors Massive Forspoken PS5 Showcase
My only issue the world feels way to bright. Like to the point of being washed out. Some weird lighting go on and it isn't my 4K TV.
