Re: The Quarry's Movie Mode Lets You Beat the Game without Pressing a Button

stinkyx

Surprised about the backlash...I mean, most games are a "gimme" anyway, in terms of beating them. Like you don't actually have to be good at games anymore since leveling-up systems make it so you can just be bad over and over until you win. I mean, you're not going to impress anyone saying you've beaten a game, not even Elden Ring (again, the leveling-up stuff).

For me, the main thing that's aged poorly with Hit & Run is the title now that I've lived long enough to know someone killed in a hit & run!

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) - Dark Future RPG Is Finally Ready to Rock

Still dunno what people expected when this game has always been the exact thing they showed us in the 2018 reveal trailer. I remember being underwhelmed back then.

On a similar note, Elden Ring seems like more of the same, not sure what all the hype is about. I mean, I'm sure it will be a solid game, but it seems like so many people are expecting it to literally be the best game of all time.

Re: Fans Think PlayStation Might Be Teasing PS1, PS2, PS3 Backwards Compatibility

stinkyx

Yeah, let me play all the digital games I already own! Xbox has been doing this for nearly a decade...happy that MS is finally making Sony step-up.

Can we please get store refunds next? Sony and Nintendo are still in the dark ages when it comes to digital storefront consumer friendliness.

Also, maybe it's just me, but I have to delete my payment method on PSN after I buy something or Sony will, no joke, re-enable auto-renew (without asking me) and re-enable all dead subscriptions I have. It's happened at least 10 times. That's garnered a ton of negative emotions toward Sony over the past 5+ years from me.

Re: Game of the Year: #10 - Guilty Gear Strive

stinkyx

Guess I'm the only one who doesn't like it, and I play nothing but fighting games, lol. It feels like a big step backward for the series in literally every way except graphics, and even then it looks grainy compared to other fighting games. The netcode is nice tho.

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade No Longer PlayStation Exclusive from 16th December

stinkyx

@djhegzy EGS sucks because it doesn't have remote play (on Steam I can play games on my phone in bed or on my living room TV), no community features whatsoever (sharing screenshots and videos, forums), almost no games have achievements, and just the general feeling that Epic doesn't care about improving their launcher (you STILL can't set a profile picture almost 5 years later, lol). Other PC launchers have come and gone, meaning you lose access to all of your digital games with them (which Nintendo has also done with the Wii, and Sony keeps trying to do with Vita and PS3, and PS4 and PS5 are next one day), and Steam seems like the only launcher where the developer actually cares about its platform.

Re: EA Reportedly Greenlights New Fight Night, But Progress Paused by UFC

I'll buy one of these games if they ever find a way to ACTUALLY get GameFace to work. So dumb how they had a super fun feature to put your face (or anyone's face, for that matter) in the game that seemed soooooo easy but then just didn't work presumably due to server errors, and then they abandoned it instead of fixing it is just sad and makes these devs seem incompetent.

Re: Blazing Strike Channels Old School Capcom and SNK Fighting Games on PS4 in 2022

stinkyx

@naruball I used to feel the same way, until I found out I was playing fighting games wrong my entire life, lol. It's more like an intense real-time chess game when you really get into it. Maybe check out some YouTube videos like this one series called "Think, Don't Mash!"

The genre becomes fairly complex, IMHO, once you get into frame data and match-ups. This aspect is a lot more accessible nowadays with frame data in-game for many games, like NRS games and Tekken 7 (through a DLC...dumb, but at least it's there). 100% the most rewarding genre I've ever played, and all I play now. Give it another shot!

Re: Warner Bros Allegedly Looking to Offload NetherRealm, TT Games

stinkyx

@Deadlyblack LMAOOOOOO, if anything it might make NRS's games better. Or at least I hope so. I mean, when Ed Boon said they "weren't even close to being done" with extra content for MK11 and then that turned out to be a complete lie, I'd like to think it's because WB pulled funding or assigned a new project. Otherwise, having less than 2 years if support for a AAA fighting game while Street Fighter and Tekken have 4+ is just pathetic these days and a slap in the face to people investing the time to learn them (IMHO).

Re: Days Gone Is Still a Stunner in PC Features Trailer

stinkyx

Damn dudes, lol. How about this:

I personally was a PC gamer UNTIL I broke an got a PS3 for all the exclusives. I liked sitting on my couch with a console so much, I ended up just buying ALL of my games on PS3 (headaches from bad performance be darned).

Thanks to Steam sales, I double-dipped on many of my favorite multi-platform PS3 titles.

Now that PSN is closing down for PS3, I'm uncertain about the future of my PS3 library (90% of which is digital), and yet all of my Steam games are perfectly fine.

In the future, I am planning to be primarily a PC gamer because of the horrendous sunsetting procedures for online games that Nintendo and now Sony are displaying. Does my PS4 library now have an expiration date? It's all very unsettling to me.

In this case, moving forward, I have nooo problem waiting to see if there will be a PC port for ALL PS "exclusives." Just being honest.

Re: PS3, PS Vita, and PSP Online Stores to Close This Summer, Says New Report

stinkyx

@Americansamurai1 The hope that Sony will update their PS Now service to include ALL PS3 and Vita games is the only reason I'm not rushing out to complete my wishlist that I've been sitting on all these years.

Even then, I have the best internet available to me (at $80 per month) but it still shows noticeable input lag when I used PS Now or any other game-streaming service, at 900p and 30 FPS no less...

Re: PS3, PS Vita, and PSP Online Stores to Close This Summer, Says New Report

stinkyx

Almost all of the PSVita and PS3 games I own are digital, so the thought of not being able to re-download anything ever again is LAME.

As for owning physical games for PSV and PS3, the other issue is potentially not being able to access updates or install data that's not on the disc. So even that isn't a fool-proof solution.

You know what platform doesn't have this problem? PC. Yet another reason to switch over.

Re: Take-Two Boss Believes Players Were 'Ready' for $70 Games

stinkyx

I'm hoping that this $70 thing won't work out for any of these publishers. I mean, I can barely think of a $60 game that was worth full-price.

In the end, it puts too much pressure on us gamers to "enjoy" the product. Like, "this is good...I dunno about $70 good, tho."
