Still dunno what people expected when this game has always been the exact thing they showed us in the 2018 reveal trailer. I remember being underwhelmed back then.
On a similar note, Elden Ring seems like more of the same, not sure what all the hype is about. I mean, I'm sure it will be a solid game, but it seems like so many people are expecting it to literally be the best game of all time.
Yeah, let me play all the digital games I already own! Xbox has been doing this for nearly a decade...happy that MS is finally making Sony step-up.
Can we please get store refunds next? Sony and Nintendo are still in the dark ages when it comes to digital storefront consumer friendliness.
Also, maybe it's just me, but I have to delete my payment method on PSN after I buy something or Sony will, no joke, re-enable auto-renew (without asking me) and re-enable all dead subscriptions I have. It's happened at least 10 times. That's garnered a ton of negative emotions toward Sony over the past 5+ years from me.
@KlatuBerataNicto Yessss, more Resistance. Wasn't a fan of the 1940's setting (too old-timey for me), but I love the creature design and weapons. They should make it take place in the 60s and star Austin Powers (once Sony buys the rights to that character). Now that's Groovy, baby!
@BoldAndBrash Yeah I'm still waiting for a game where the entire world is interactive or the A.I. isn't braindead. All these beautiful, empty open-world games full of repetitive busywork need to die already.
Guess I'm the only one who doesn't like it, and I play nothing but fighting games, lol. It feels like a big step backward for the series in literally every way except graphics, and even then it looks grainy compared to other fighting games. The netcode is nice tho.
@djhegzy EGS sucks because it doesn't have remote play (on Steam I can play games on my phone in bed or on my living room TV), no community features whatsoever (sharing screenshots and videos, forums), almost no games have achievements, and just the general feeling that Epic doesn't care about improving their launcher (you STILL can't set a profile picture almost 5 years later, lol). Other PC launchers have come and gone, meaning you lose access to all of your digital games with them (which Nintendo has also done with the Wii, and Sony keeps trying to do with Vita and PS3, and PS4 and PS5 are next one day), and Steam seems like the only launcher where the developer actually cares about its platform.
I can see it now...pressing X,X,X,X, dodge roll, follow minimap. Yawn. Let me know if they ever get around to Injustice 3... (sorry, disappointed fighting game fan here, lol).
@dustinprewitt Yeah, this needs to be on PS4. Same goes for part 2 (and 3 if they really end up milking it). . @mucc Ditto! So far, this is the only "gotta have" game for the PS5 I don't have, but I'm gonna pass on it because of EGS. @anoyonmus EGS really is THAT bad. I guess I'll just finally get this game on PS4, lol.
Would be nice to see a sale rn, but...I don't think the Vita PSN store has hosted any sales since 2018, no joke. Just full-price items from here on out (sigh).
I'll buy one of these games if they ever find a way to ACTUALLY get GameFace to work. So dumb how they had a super fun feature to put your face (or anyone's face, for that matter) in the game that seemed soooooo easy but then just didn't work presumably due to server errors, and then they abandoned it instead of fixing it is just sad and makes these devs seem incompetent.
Call me crazy, but I won't be giving money yo any company involved with NFTs. It's garbage like that and cryptocurrency that's made PS5s and graphics cards so scarce.
My father-in-law hadn't played any video games since the PS2 days, and we both played UC4 for the first time together. And by that I mean slogged through the first hour of the game, which was so boring that neither of us played it again, and I don't think he's touched another video game since, lol.
Finally a release window for this game! I don't like a lot of the character designs, but the overall hand-drawn aesthetic is right up my alley (don't really care for the style of TFH or Skullgirls, not to mention the sour taste that latter game's scandals from last year).
@naruball I used to feel the same way, until I found out I was playing fighting games wrong my entire life, lol. It's more like an intense real-time chess game when you really get into it. Maybe check out some YouTube videos like this one series called "Think, Don't Mash!"
The genre becomes fairly complex, IMHO, once you get into frame data and match-ups. This aspect is a lot more accessible nowadays with frame data in-game for many games, like NRS games and Tekken 7 (through a DLC...dumb, but at least it's there). 100% the most rewarding genre I've ever played, and all I play now. Give it another shot!
@Reeneman Yeah, kinda hard to play PS5 games when your only option is to pay a dirty scalper $1000 for the console! I would've thought they'd had better supply by now, but I guess it did take the Switch like 2 years before you could readily buy one (if we want to use Nintendo as the lowest bar to clear).
@FatalBubbles Yea but some people don't like Marvel (like me) and also...PS5 exclusive? $70 game for a console I couldn't buy if I wanted to (aside from giving $1,000 to a scalper). Not for everyone, TBH.
@Deadlyblack LMAOOOOOO, if anything it might make NRS's games better. Or at least I hope so. I mean, when Ed Boon said they "weren't even close to being done" with extra content for MK11 and then that turned out to be a complete lie, I'd like to think it's because WB pulled funding or assigned a new project. Otherwise, having less than 2 years if support for a AAA fighting game while Street Fighter and Tekken have 4+ is just pathetic these days and a slap in the face to people investing the time to learn them (IMHO).
Some of these comments remind me of the shilling that goes on at Nintendo Life when people defend having to buy a separate $300 Switch and $60 copy of Animal Crossing every time a family wants more than one save.
I borrowed the PC version from a friend way back in '97 and proceeded to watch all of the cutscenes in order like this, since you could just open the cutscene movies in a regular video player. Then I gave the game back.
Back then I would also use cheat codes to skip to the last level of a game, beat it with God mode turned on, and call it done. Dunno what I was thinking, lol.
I personally was a PC gamer UNTIL I broke an got a PS3 for all the exclusives. I liked sitting on my couch with a console so much, I ended up just buying ALL of my games on PS3 (headaches from bad performance be darned).
Thanks to Steam sales, I double-dipped on many of my favorite multi-platform PS3 titles.
Now that PSN is closing down for PS3, I'm uncertain about the future of my PS3 library (90% of which is digital), and yet all of my Steam games are perfectly fine.
In the future, I am planning to be primarily a PC gamer because of the horrendous sunsetting procedures for online games that Nintendo and now Sony are displaying. Does my PS4 library now have an expiration date? It's all very unsettling to me.
In this case, moving forward, I have nooo problem waiting to see if there will be a PC port for ALL PS "exclusives." Just being honest.
@kingtoten It's nice having low standards, honestly! I used to play really bad or old games in-between new releases, and it makes them that much more enjoyable (most of the time).
@Americansamurai1 The hope that Sony will update their PS Now service to include ALL PS3 and Vita games is the only reason I'm not rushing out to complete my wishlist that I've been sitting on all these years.
Even then, I have the best internet available to me (at $80 per month) but it still shows noticeable input lag when I used PS Now or any other game-streaming service, at 900p and 30 FPS no less...
@JapaneseSonic Yeah, that's true. Buttons degrade, and thermal paste dries up! I'm still kicking myself for not jumping on this one eBay deal that was (2) OELD Vitas for $100, in great shape with all the cords (but not the original packaging).
@IonMagus Yes, PC gaming is almost 100% digital, but I meant that you don't have to worry about accessing your old games because they're always available to you. One platform for all games. I can still download and play all the PS3-era games I own, and there's no sign that I'll ever NOT be able to do so.
Almost all of the PSVita and PS3 games I own are digital, so the thought of not being able to re-download anything ever again is LAME.
As for owning physical games for PSV and PS3, the other issue is potentially not being able to access updates or install data that's not on the disc. So even that isn't a fool-proof solution.
You know what platform doesn't have this problem? PC. Yet another reason to switch over.
@Amnesiac I never used to do big combos in any fighting games, but now I'm all about them, so I'm disappointed Strive is dialing it back. However, did you see that if Nagoriyuki does a combo that's particularly long (i.e. 10 hits), he goes into this wacky berserk mode that drains his life suuuuper fast (but gives his normals a huge buff)!
Looking at Xbox as a precedent, I don't think having "exclusives" also on PC is a big deal.
HOWEVER, I feel that Games Pass making all Xbox exclusives free on launch day has been devastating. Xbox exclusives are now few and far between, and worst of all they are so painfully mediocre (with a couple exceptions). So instead of exclusives people are happy to pay $60-70 for, you have a bunch of free games that are so average you might not even want to play them at all.

I'm planning on giving it another go sometime this year, and starting with Birth By Sleep. Maybe it'll finally click one day...
