Re: The Elder Scrolls, Fallout Dev Wants to Shorten Time Between Games

tangyzesty

The problem with Starfield was that it lacked the most important element of what made Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim so special...that feeling of being able to go off in any direction and find hours worth of adventures completely independent of the main quest.

It also didn't help developing projects like Fallout 76 and Starfield back-to-back. Neither of those projects generate the excitement (or sales) that single-player TES or Fallout games do, so having those games end up as stinkers makes the wait seem longer than it should be.

Re: Fallout 4 Sales Up 7,500% in Europe as Bethesda Series Dominates

tangyzesty

Apparently Bethesda still hates money, because it's clear as day that a Fallout 3/New Vegas remaster/remake package would sell faster than smack (am I allowed to say that?) not to mention an Oblivion one would sell just as well. But no, Bethesda is probably busying patting themselves on the back for Starfield, a 6/10 game.

Re: Video: Is Fallout 76 Worth Playing in 2024?

tangyzesty

I really, REALLY tried to like F76. Fallout 3 and NV are some of my all-time favs, and while 4 doesn't quite get there, I've enjoyed several playthroughs. But F76 wasn't for me and never will be. Even with Fallout 1st and a private server, it will never be want I want it to be...which is an actual, single player Fallout game.

Re: Huge PS Plus Clearout Confirmed for May, 25 Games Leaving

@Yorozayu So because I didn't directly reply to or reference you calling something subjective, you assume I don't know the meaning of the word? I didn't reply to it, because it wasn't RELEVANT, like most of your comments on here. I appreciate your concern, however I do know what subjective means. Most adults do. Did you learn it yesterday, is that why you're so fixated on that specific word?

Re: Huge PS Plus Clearout Confirmed for May, 25 Games Leaving

tangyzesty

@Yorozayu no, that's not it. It's that PS Plus Extra or Premium doesn't even have ONE game that interests me that I haven't played through or at least tried already somewhere else. I made a list of 6-7 within minutes on Game Pass, and all are available on PS5. PS Plus is mostly full of indie or AA stuff that I'm not interested in and would never play. And I love PlayStation but facts are facts.

Re: Devs Allegedly Pondering the Point of Sony's PS5 Pro Upgrade

tangyzesty

I think the fact that we're even talking about a potential PS5 Pro just illustrates that Sony isn't really reading the room on this one. I mean there's still a LOT of games releasing on PS4 still so why do we need a mid-gen refresh exactly, when we haven't even fully left last gen behind? I bought the PS4 Pro at launch but I'm sitting this one out.

Re: The Elder Scrolls Celebrates 30th Anniversary, Gives a Small Update on TES 6

@NEStalgia For me, the guild questlines and magic in general were far superior in Oblivion, and I also preferred it's deeper RPG elements as opposed to Skyrim doing away with attributes, etc.

Also, the cities in Oblivion felt much more distinct from one another, for example I can still recall Anvil, Cheydinhal, Bruma etc. quite clearly but not so much with the cities in Skyrim. I preferred Cyrodiil as a setting as well, much more vibrant and colorful.

Re: Days Gone Dev Bend Studio Staffing Up for 'AAA Live Service' Game

tangyzesty

Yeah, cause that's what the masses are clamoring for, right? More AAA, or dare I say, AAAA Live-Service games! Those protesters you thought were fighting for human rights? No, they just want more hot garbage that will have it's servers shut down within 14 months of launch. Excellent use of resources fellas. If that doesn't work out, I've got some swampland in Florida for sale and I'll give you a deal...

Re: Rumour: Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Will Finally, Finally Release Later This Year

tangyzesty

This mess isn't all on BioWare. We could have had a new Dragon Age in 2018 or so, but EA butted in and made BioWare scrap everything and start over with an emphasis on Live Service elements. Then, from what I've been told, the success of the single-player Fallen Order game made EA change their mind again, had BioWare scrap the Live Service crap, and they started over from scratch AGAIN, going back to the single-player focused project they had been working on originally.

If any of this info is false, please correct me. But from what I can tell EA is just as responsible for the mess that is Dragon Age currently as BioWare is.

Re: Xbox Games Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Grounded All Confirmed for PS5, PS4

tangyzesty

@BolkaRover I see your point about GP opposed to spending $60-70, but that would only apply to the very small percentage of people who own both consoles. For someone looking to buy their first console though, why on Earth would anyone choose an Xbox, sure you got GP but you're missing a TON of excellent Sony exclusives, when you could get a PS5 and have access to everything? It almost becomes like an idiot test at that point IMO.

Re: Xbox Games Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Grounded All Confirmed for PS5, PS4

tangyzesty

I know I've said it before, but this is just the beginning. I don't care what MS says right now. They've seen the writing on the wall, and they're finally realizing that their master plan to buy up publishers and make their games Xbox exclusive is only going to result in those games selling 30% of what they should and it's going to cause them to hemorrhage money essentially. The only way forward, or eventually out, for MS at this point is to sell as many copies of their games on as many platforms as they can. Game Pass has peaked, and they've already lost the most important gen (when people began to seriously invest in digital ecosystems), so really what else can they do? So yeah, we will at least see a Starfield announcement for PS5, among others, by the end of the year, at minimum.

Re: Reaction: Xbox Is Bringing Some Great Games to PS5, But Rumours Will Remain Rampant About What's Next

tangyzesty

I don't buy for a minute that this will be it. Keeping Starfield and Indiana Jones on Xbox means leaving a TON of money on the table, and for what, to keep fighting a war they've already lost? Mark my words both games will be on PS5 by mid-2025.

Out of the 4 mentioned, I'm not likely to buy any of them, because I've already played 2 of them on GP, and the other 2 don't interest me.
