@naruball don't forget electricity and internet. Probably water and heating too if you want to be comfortable all year round. It's a huge investment when you put it all together.
@3Above to be fair I'll likely wait on a sale for the second game. I'm currently saving Burning Shores, for instance, to play when I've got time to do it all in one go, so there's plenty in my backlog, but if you think that going straight through to MM would be fine even if I was looking forward to playing 2 asap, that probably tells me I'm good to play straight through
I've finished the story in Spider-Man and I'm trying to decide whether to finish all the crimes and various other map icons, move straight on to Miles Morales, or take a break and start Kena.
What do you all think? Will going straight into MM just mean I'm burned out on the franchise before I'm finished, or does it keep things fresh and introduce enough new stuff to keep things interesting?
Wow, some people here are real salty about the idea of disabled people getting to enjoy their hobby. Always glad to see more accessibility options whether they're personally useful or not
Currently playing Spider-Man before it disappears (about to start act 3). Finding the combat kinda irritating (reminds me a lot of the Rocksteady Batman games which I didn't particularly enjoy) but everything else is pretty cool. How different Vs more of the same is Miles Morales?
@GodofCapcom a previous announcement showed a mount that flies but also dives under water. There's definitely new machines, they're just not showing too many of them
I only finished the platinum a few weeks ago, so I'm going to play a few other games and come back to it, but I'm definitely looking forward to a second playthrough. Not doing what I did with the 2018 game though - the platinum for that needed something like 3 playthroughs and I did them back to back, so when I played through recently to refresh myself before starting GoWR it felt incredibly stale.
Bit of a weird one, but in between Hitman Freelancer I've been playing Zombi, which I started years ago on the WiiU at an old workplace (in lunch breaks) and never finished before I moved on to the next job.
@SJBUK sounds about right - the m.2 drives are for general use, while the onboard storage was optimised for gaming where read speeds are a lot more important than write speeds.
It's important to note that there has been a couple of years for fabrication of the faster chips to get cheaper, and the onboard storage had to be a fixed spec for the life of the console generation, and that while a higher spec might have been possible, it would have made the console more expensive.
@Snake_V5 I can tell you for a fact that if you don't touch the screen, they go away. There will be black bars if your aspect ratio doesn't match because otherwise things will be stretched and gross, but if you've got an OLED screen then you really don't notice, it's just like having bezels
@Jayslow you don't, but the official client only supports the Dualsense and the Dualshock 4, or touch controls, so if you want to use a third party controller you need to use a third party app
Probably more Hitman Freelancer, although I'm looking for a more chilled out game to play in-between. I gave Anno 1800 a go while it was on trial, but that just showed me that I'm burned out on that genre, all I won't buy it to carry on.
@AFCC I feel like Wick's gun-fu might be hard to do well, and IOI wouldn't be the right studio for it - they make cool slow games of stealth and deception, while John Wick is about cool streamlined action.
I kinda see John Wick as a Max Payne style thing with active pause
To be honest, assuming their Bond game uses the same engine, I could see them updating Hitman VR as an exercise in familiarising themselves with the changes if the intend to include a VR mode for the Bond game
This looks like it'll scratch that XCom itch even less than Midnight Suns. The description was interesting, but the video shows it to be almost entirely unlike said description
More Hitman Freelancer mode. It feels like the cost of failure is a little more punitive than I'd like (it would be better if you lost all the money and stuff from that run, but keep the stuff from previous runs) but I'm slowly building up my weapons and my safehouse (just got access to the vault so I'd better see what that's about)
I used this right up until I got native dualsense compatibility on my phone, at which point the official app had better controller support, and it's about the same in terms of latency, ease of use, etc
@Bricktop33 well the cost of food and fuel has gone up, inflation is through the roof, and a lot of small and medium sized businesses have gone bust. Meanwhile the national debt continues to soar without seeing any meaningful investment in public services. We are, as a nation, in all respects worse off than we were in 2016 , and by a considerable margin more than the rest of the continent.
If 52% of those who voted had voted for Remain and the things the Leave campaign had claimed were on the horizon (like an EU army, etc) had come to pass I'd expect that you'd be frustrated too.
All of this is however a massive distraction from the fact that yes England, like the rest of the UK, is still geographically a part of Europe.
@TommyNL Europe is a continent. The EU is an organisation made up of nations within that continent. England is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which has left the EU, but that didn't change its geographic status.
@Bricktop33 I feel like the series of economic crises we've gone through since 2017 and how much worse we've faired through them kind of speak for themselves. The money we paid into the EU benefitted us in terms of both subsidising our industries and making trade much easier. Everything the Remain campaign warned of has turned out to be grounded in facts.
Folks here are really acting like they think committing economic suicide by leaving the EU somehow moved us to a new continent. Of course Europe includes the UK.
I finished the story yesterday in GoW Ragnorok so I've still got plenty of content to finish off before I choose what to play next. Completed the Musphelheim trials but then got my arse handed to me by Gna so I'm going to have to come back for that once I've upgraded my gear a few levels.
Probably also finally get back to the woodworking now that my finger is up to it and I've got myself some new safety equipment. Its been about 6 weeks and I can't wait.
@Stevemalkpus given it's the British Academy, they have an award category specifically to showcase stuff from British studios, which given how much of the market is dominated by American studios seems fine?
Just passed the point of no return in the story, and I can say that so long as they don't completely fluff the ending, this game deserves every one of those awards. Great stuff!
I can imagine that as with anything where you're trying to get a good fit around the head, hair is an issue - I presume those with long straight hair are having the biggest issue, with bald folks having nary a problem, and everyone else fitting somewhere in between?
This week I finally started Dad of Boy Ragnorok. I'm about half way through the story according to a mate I was talking to. Great stuff so far and I have all sorts of twisty ideas for how things could end up resolved, and who will be left standing by the end. Trying not to mention spoilers for anyone who hasn't got around to it yet.
I might buy it if it has hotseat couch co-op (doesn't look like it though), but without that I'd rather either use tabletop simulator or discord to play a proper ttrpg, or just play something that doesn't pretend to be tabletop
@PegasusActual93 Eh, I'd say that the main character ends up being the Rocinante π
I think it ends up a little more focused than GoT, but where I'd agree is with there not being anyone it would cast as a hero, and very few people who are unredeemable villains, with things mostly being about conflicting motivations.
My finger is finally up to controller use (if a little painful) so I'm playing through God of War (2018) in preparation for my first run through Ragnarok.
I'm a little worried that I'm not enjoying it as much this time around, and wondering what that means for the sequel, but that could just be because I'm on my 4th play through and I'm in pain whenever I press L1
For those wishing me well the other week, some gross details: The wound has finally, after 3 weeks, fully closed and mostly shed its scab, and I have an impressive looking scar - the top edge is perfectly straight while the bottom edge is ragged where the chisel wedged the wound open as it went. I'm also completely lacking any touch sensation in any of the tissue on a segment from the scar up to my finger tip
@DutchDouchebag I mean it's possible, but it would increase the cost and require extra processing overhead. The current wisdom is that it's simply not worth the effort, and that you get used to having see-through arms pretty quickly, but who knows what we'll end up with in time
This is cool, although it's with noting that the 4090 outperforms the 3090Ti by a significant margin. It just sucks a lot of power to do so and is about ΒΌ the size of the PS5 on its own.
@DutchDouchebag alas it's unlikely to happen - due to limitations around tracking anything that isn't ahead of the headset is impossible to accurately track the arms, which leaves a lot of guesswork, and it turns out that inaccurately rendered arms are even more immersion breaking.
@nomither6 the job of a CEO isn't supposed to be flashy, they're not supposed to be celebrities. He seems to just be quietly getting on with the job while folks wail and gnash their teeth about some impending disaster based on guesses and speculation.
It's not so much that I support him, or even Sony, but I find the constant doomsaying and calls for firing baffling, especially when it so often (not AFAIK in your case) comes from the same people who ridicule anyone who doesn't want to buy the latest TERF wizard game.
I have no idea how 7% of respondents can say in good faith that this is a crap selection. I've already played and highly enjoyed Mafia, but I'm looking forward to Ollie Ollie.
@thefourfoldroot1 I'll see how I'm doing in a few weeks, I'm looking at cuts to my benefits and need to replace my wheelchair, so every penny counts at the moment

I'm going to try this out later. Does this let you share your screen? If you have the PS5 camera can you connect that to the Voice Chat?
It's kinda an odd quirk of Discord that Voice Chat does video too
