Re: Resogun, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, and Soul Sacrifice Front NA PS Plus Update

Cloud7794

@get2sammyb Honestly I'm REALLY looking forward to Resogun, seems very fun and colorful. I already bought Soul Sacrifice over the summer, but I'm glad many more people will be able to get it ^_^ I'm pretty psyched for this month, every last game is one I've been looking at and the only one I own is Soul Sacrifice. What a month though... far too much to play WHERE DO I BEGIN!

Re: Judging By These Comments, Titanfall Was Definitely Planned for PS4

Cloud7794

@Gamer83 I think what MS hopes to do is save itself cash by not making more first-party studios, and buy its way into being the number one console. That way, they don't have to pay to upkeep studios/game production, and third-parties would be clamoring to get their games on Microsoft's console. At that point, MS could just talk them into giving the Xbox the definitive version of games (if not exclusive access) and use that to try to keep superiority. Obviously, that route isn't going to succeed, but it just shows how little they want to invest for the long-term and how desperately they are looking for an early success. Also, I can see Sony maaaaybe talking Rockstar into porting GTA Online onto PS4 as a timed exclusive a little way's down the road. Or maybe a Red Dead Redemption Online? Online seems to be the only way devs think these days. Or Fallout/Far Cry 4? I'm playing Far Cry 3 using my DS4 right now and it feels too natural.

Re: Judging By These Comments, Titanfall Was Definitely Planned for PS4

Cloud7794

@Gamer83 Sadly it almost sounds like Hideo Kojima prefers Xbox One, unless they paid him to make such comments, though I'm not entirely sure they did. I could see Sony finding a game to lock up, however. That game probably WOULD have beend Destiny or Watch Dogs, had they not already also been announced for Xbox One. It saddens me though that the only reason I actually hope this happens is because MS knew they needed to give people >some< reason to buy the One other than a new Halo and Dead Rising 3. They're obviously already feeling that they have an uphill battle to fight, but, as history would teach us, an uphill battle is the worst kind for which to hire a mercenary army.

Re: DriveClub Parks Up in Early 2014, Contrast Joins Instant Game Collection

Cloud7794

@Gamer83 I know that you're disappointed about all this, but I find this... good? I don't know, it's a fairly odd feeling, but look at it like this. Everyone says "PC-architecture! No improvement because already at it's easiest!" but look at problems that are arising, obviously there's more to these systems' complexities than a PC's (or at least the more to the PS4's), but look at COD: Ghosts and Killzone already hitting 1080p 60fps at launch for multiplayer, even with all the snags they most definitely hit. I'm hoping this only shows that it's a bit more complex than we thought (something I've been saying since forever), and that improvements that come later in the generation will be larger than we hoped for.

As an aside, Wii U is in NO way beating either console this holiday season, the only game that was gonna generate sales (Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze) is no longer coming out before Christmas.

Re: What If You've Pre-Ordered a Watch Dogs PS4 Bundle?

Cloud7794

@Scollurio Way to call a game overrated before launch o.o To be fair, I felt GTA5 was overrated, in all honesty when they come out with GTA6 people will be all over it and start saying how limiting GTA5 was and wondering how they were able to deal with such horrid controls. The same thing happened from GTA3 to GTA4 and GTA4 to GTA5. It's the Grand Theft Curse, amazing today, unplayable tomorrow :/

Re: Amazon UK Reduces PS4 Mega Bundle to Match Xbox One's Price

Cloud7794

@charlesnarles Hey now, you can't blame us Republicans for the USA's problems, who do you think is in office right now anyways . On-topic though, it's the fight for UK that is causing them to go all-out. America is most likely MS, Japan is definitely Sony's, but Microsoft made a really big move in Europe and now Sony needs to counterattack.

Re: Out Now: Beyond: Two Souls Explores the Other Side on PS3

Cloud7794

@longshot28 To be fair, I guessed the ending to Bioshock Infinite 15 minutes into trying it out over at a friend's. I started the game, got to Columbia, walked around for a few minutes, told him how it ended then put the controller down. I haven't read a single thing about the game (except "It's really good!" style quotes from people), and I also haven't played a single Bioshock game yet.

Re: Remember Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance with Staggering EU PS Plus Refresh

Cloud7794

@get2sammyb Man you guys are way too lucky to get Revengeance on top of everything you have been getting the past few months. I'm just waiting for them to throw some of that our side. My guess though is that they're REALLY trying to win over Europe to camp Sony (take a look at all the PS4 bundles).
On the horizon for NA PS plus... nekomimimusumega sekainohatemade sanmawotabeniikuno DADADA! (it's a real game for playstation mobile with surprisingly good reviews). Actually, that'd be a very interesting game for them to put out there, though for $2.49 I'd rather pay to try it out myself than have it as a Plus game.
Well, as per tradition, we won't know our's until the end of this month, though I'm not too worried as I'm not sure I'll have time for all those free games next month with PS4 out ^_^

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 15

Cloud7794

@Lionhart Personally, I really enjoyed the game. The demo is on PSN if you want to try it. The game is obviously a bit more mature in its content, but isn't x-rated in any way (I'd be shocked if Atlus made such a game these days). The game is a romance-puzzle-horror-murder mysteryish game that does its job well.
As far as Persona likeness, the only thing that may be similar is that you're basically playing through the game strengthening one of two social links and whichever one is stronger, as well as choices you make end-game, determines which one of 8 endings you get. The puzzles are very challenging, but never to the point of being impossible, and the feeling of finally solving a particularly difficult section and continuing up the tower to complete a level is very rewarding.
Thankfully there isn't any blatant nudity: the game has some parts at which a character (or characters) on screen is naked, but not completely on-screen (example: Catherine can be obviously naked but the camera shows her from the shoulders up). This isn't broken throughout the game, so you don't have to worry about that. There are also no sex scenes in the game, though sex is discussed often by the characters. They mostly talk about it in that it happens though, nothing really explicit comes up aside from one character who isn't even as dirty-mouthed as what you'd hear in a typical US high school. I do know that sometimes a text message you receive can have a picture attachment, but looking at those is optional. I only saw one though and it was suggestive enough that I didn't bother opening an image attachment from that number again. Still, no nudity.
Overall the game was great: it really challenges you and is best played by going through your first playthrough being completely honest with your decisions, seeing how you end up, then replaying for trophies.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 15

Cloud7794

I managed to beat Catherine on Friday. Game was very great and amazingly satisfying to play through. Now my attention turns back to Persona 4, Diablo 3, Final Fantasy Tactics, and hopefully actually finishing cleanup of the latest chapter of my small RPG Maker game @_@.

@odd69 The best part about that game is that you get to brag to everyone about your "rare grey Wii U," though seeing as no one I know who has one actually plays it, maybe white and black Wii U's are getting scarcer? @JaxonH Seriously? Are all Best Buy's doing this? I'm thinking it'd be a good present.

Re: What's New in PlayStation 3 Firmware Update v4.50?

Cloud7794

Anyone else think that the trophy cloaking might be there mainly for something like Lollipop Chainsaw? My friend told me that apparently there was a trophy for trying to look up the main character's skirt. I thought that was hilarious and then I realized I could check friends' trophies and see who had actually done it. In the words of my friend: "I didn't know that would get me a trophy!"

Re: Hands On: PS4 Launch Title Knack Is Gradually Gathering Steam

Cloud7794

@get2sammyb This game is one of my most anticipated, and every update I hear of it just increases my desire to have this on my TV. This and Killzone (strange, before Shadow Fall and Mercenary I wasn't far too interested in the titles). Nice to hear that the game does the platforming well. (Sidenote: sorry for the earlier misunderstanding >.<)

Re: Familiarise Yourself with These Images of the PS4's Interface

Cloud7794

@ObviouslyAdachi Still, they shouldn't leave out customization for the sake of brand recognition. It's like saying they shouldn't allow different themes. Just don't change your's Besides, I would love to make it a Persona 4 Golden color scheme, though it would probably melt my eyes with its brightness _

Re: TGS 2013: Knack Sounds Much More Natural in Japanese

Cloud7794

@staticdash22 To be fair, this isn't about dubs vs subs. This is about the character himself and whether a particular voice suits him over another. In Sammy's own opinion, the deep voice isn't too fitting, and he's expressing it through humor in his own article. If you like the deep voice then good, if you don't then also good. Sometimes certain voices just do not seem to fit a character to some people.

I can't stand to hear Goku's (DBZ) voice in Japanese, but I also felt that the characters of Star Ocean 4 and Enchanted Arms sounded much better in their native tongue. If the protagonist of the new Assassin's Creed sounds like Mickey Mouse, I'm sure many people would want to change the language setting to one that sounds more like how he looks. It's all subjective.

Re: TGS 2013: PS4 Losses to be Recouped by PlayStation Plus and Games

Cloud7794

@DoublezZ01 *Psyched. I'm not trying to be that guy or a Spelling Spetsnaz but that word is one of the most misspelled words people regularly use so I just wanted you to know how it's spelled >_<
On topic, though, I have Knack, PS4, extra controller, and a random 2nd game on the table for day 1. I hope the profit Sony gets from my purchases go toward improvement to PSN ^_^

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 14

Cloud7794

Diablo 3 for me, though sadly work and college are making my quest to save New Tristram slow to a crawl. Honestly, I was going to wait until I got a PS4 and was going to buy that version, but @Giddens review of the game, as well as all those gameplay videos posted up earlier that convinced me I needed the game now. It doesn't dissappoint, thanks guys!

Re: Talking Point: Are You in Tune with Sony's Multifunctional PS Vita TV?

Cloud7794

The Vita TV has great possibilities. For one, it would be great for kids with two homes who don't want to lug their PS4 around when they switch. The same goes for different rooms of a house for those who want to keep their systems more-or-less in place (as others here have said). Not to mention the Vita TV itself plays some great games.
That leads to point two, the console itself may be cheap (a $99 Sony console?), but so are the games compared to the larger home consoles. A whole library of amazing games opens up that's great for people on a budget. Except for special editions, no game releases at higher than $39.99 here in the states. Then you have $5.99 and $9.99 PS1 classics, a squadron of PSP titles mostly $19.99 and under (Dissidia 012 Duodecim on TV!), and other assorted PSN/mobile titles. This is a perfect entry-level/budget system that I think would appeal to just about anyone.
Point three is obvious: streaming Netflix, music, youtube, other movies, internet, etc. All those other "extras" to us (well, me I guess really) would be a great selling point to the casual gamer. I also notice that sly usb port just hanging around there... though HIGHLY unlikely, if Sony allow you to use a USB as an external hard drive (though require formatting and activation or something?) that you can store games on, I think this is the instant victor in the as-of-yet announced set-top box war. More likely, they may allow you to hold your music/videos on a USB, or maybe even backup to a USB. Those would still be great features.

Re: This New DriveClub Footage Will Certainly Start Your Engine

Cloud7794

I don't even particularly like driving/racing games (unless a new Crash Team Racing comes swerving around the corner.) and yet I just love this video. This, Killzone, and even Knack are definitely showing how much of a powerful and versatile console we'll soon be placing beside/underneath/behind/within our television.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a Virtual Reality Headset for Your PS4?

Cloud7794

Honestly I love the concept, and I would definitely buy it as a reasonable cost ($150? Sounds like a dream but I'd say that's a tad unrealistic if we're going for "the best" experience. That wouldn't be a bad entry-level price for such a headset though, like with reduced resolution, etc. I think we really shouldn't expect less than $200, but no more than $350). If Sony can pull of an amazing immersion system with this with great support and functionality, while doing something about the "sick stomach" feeling, I think this will sell very well within that price range.

Re: Store Update: 4th September 2013 (Europe)

Cloud7794

@RawShark Oh ok, I thought they may have expanded the epilogue or something, I would have (sadly) bought a whole 'nother version of the game for that. If it's just avatars I can live with picking them up one by one as I need em thanks

Re: Review: Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (PlayStation Vita)

Cloud7794

@Superconsole Woo for late comments! Anyways, I only semi-recently platinumed the game and never played 999, but personally I would give the game a 10. Obviously this is a 10 in relation to it's genre and story. This game kept me gripped and thinking, and although it makes some plot points obvious, that only serves to better hide the non-obvious ones. Few games have ever legitimately made me feel like I knew a character, and even fewer have succeeded in making me feel betrayed by pixels on a screen (as well as heavily mortified by my choices, I never want to betray TT_TT). By the time I finally put the game away, I had been shocked/thrown for a loop more times than I could count and made choices that kept me up at night. As far as controls, I didn't have a problem at all, but having never owned a DS, I may just not know what I'm missing there. All in all, this had become my favorite game on Vita by the time I was through, it's just a shame that there's no replayability, I have the story now, and that's what the game mainly has to offer.
