@Vovander Come on dude. We get that there’s some funding there (the Russian government has their hands in virtually every cookie jar) but I would be VERY scared to criticize the Russian hierarchy at this juncture.
I’m sure they’re well aware the place is run by complete psychopaths who can and will do anything to silence detractors, especially ones who have an opportunity to spread an anti war message outside of Russia.
This is a call to punish a developer who has the unfortunate circumstance of living under a dictatorship. Try to cut these people some slack. It would be totally different if they came out and supported the war.
I keep seeing this game compared more to Serious Sam than Bioshock. Definitely worried.
On the good side they kept noting Dark Souls as a major influence and you can see some of that rhythm in the combat. Fingers crossed this is as cool as it looks.
I don’t see how this doesn’t end in disaster. Publishers/developers biggest fear should be the dreaded social dogpile and that’s all I’ve seen for the past 24 hours.
The best they can hope for is the discourse dies down and people forget about it so the game can find an audience at some point.
I expected the GaaS garbage polluting this game in some fashion. I did not expect it to be mission based with how they made the gameplay look, that’s also a huge bummer.
I agree with what many have said here, looks incredible but I see this one having a catch. Could be that it’s extremely short or copy pasted since the team was smaller for so long.
I really hope From sticks with this formula as the open world and gameplay tweaks work for so many people.
I think the summons and ability to hyper grind for OP gear almost anywhere makes it so much more accessible for newer players and can be easily ignored for vets who want a challenge.
It’s always been weird to me the indies and smaller studio games don’t release around this time. People have money and gift cards burning a hole in their pocket, go get it.
@ItsBritneyB_tch No I get that, it just always seems weird to me. It’s definitely the total package and deserves it but still feels like someone’s trying to sell me something.
These self made awards really seem disingenuous. GoW is my top game this year but feels kind of weird for a company to give so many awards to a game they own.
Great list man. I think we’re in the same age bracket and while I’m over in the states, I remember going to arcades on bikes and skateboards with my buddies and throwing every quarter we had at TMNT and X-Men weekly.
Shredders Revenge, beyond everything else it obviously does right, really does suck you back into those days seamlessly. That’s an achievement!!!
Got the platinum, I would say 7 is fair. Looks great and is obviously very grizzly BUT the combat is clunky as they say and load out is extremely limited. I think you have the foundation for an incredible game here though.
@somnambulance That is extremely true. I haven’t played the medium yet but I’ve heard it’s a budget SH title. I suppose so was downpour so I’ll try it on PS Plus eventually.
I love that there’s a real Silent Hill remake coming and all but… has anyone really played a truly great Bloober game? Observer was very cool but just ok in the end. Layers of Fear 1&2 and Blair Witch were all pretty underwhelming.
Feel like these guys are getting some serious run with a mediocre resume. Hopefully they’re seeing some stuff behind the scenes we aren’t because nobody’s getting enough survival horror in the gaming sphere.
The second one definitely made some odd choices but the game was great in the end. They need to wrap the series with this one and move on to something else.
After the first two it needs a full, cathartic ending that can’t be open ended.
4 was very cool and if they can implement all the lessons learned from the souls titles into the combat here this is very exciting. A big budget AC game in 2023 is crazy.
It’s fine. Everything I’ve seen so far is shaping up to be the first time I’ve really jumped into a SF game since Alpha and I’m not the only one I know who feels the same. Let’s just be happy it’s more than online/arcade bare bones launch.
I think we’re due for a new injustice game. I suck at fighters but the story was awesome and the gameplay still really had some hooks even for an amateur.
This Lulu chick is an idiot. Antitrust laws were not made to specifically “protect the consumer”, they were made to stop companies in any industry from monopolizing a market. This in turn absolutely protects the consumer but first you have to protect the marketplace.
Looking at a company that is way beyond Google or Amazon is Comcast. Most states in the US have them as the ONLY solid option for Internet access and look what that did.
They’ll lose this suit like usual but maybe this will create a standard where major concessions need to be made to even bring a deal like this to the table.
@thefourfoldroot1 It’s nothing overly political or anything. Mostly about having agency over lifelong fear and being strong enough to take care of yourself.
As far as the game portion goes, it’s really just a platformer with a few bells and whistles but it looks so stunning it really doesn’t matter. If you are a person who appreciates paintings or really visual media in general it’s for you.
Considering 2022 was another year that wasn’t exactly packed with bangers like 23 is shaping up to be, we should be thrilled we got GoW and Elden Ring months apart.
I’m guessing if they don’t start adding some new or at least newer games to the service that initial FOMO is going to wear off a lot of users and around the one year anniversary cancelations will be high.
I’m sure the day and date stuff won’t happen due to the cost but give us 3-6 month old games at the very least.
@themightyant Could not agree more that is an amazing business practice that keeps things non-hostile out of the gate too. This is how you get true partners and quality work in any part of the working world.
In other news I think this game is going to kick butt
They don’t have enough to show for an entire presentation. Good, bad or indifferent that’s more than likely the truth. Covid has definitely made the console exclusive landscape strange these last few years.
The fact that this game seems to be locked at 30fps on PS5 has me very concerned about the overall product. Let’s see some reviews and we’ll talk additional modes later.

Re: Lead Mass Effect 2, 3 Writer Leaves BioWare After 19 Years
The PS3/X360 era for BioWare had some seriously legendary titles. This is yet another reminder they are not the same company now.
Here’s hoping they show us something special with the new Dragon Age
Re: Marvel's Avengers Support Officially Ends in September, Three Years After Release
Shocking. This game was fun in spots but overall ridiculously half baked for such a huge property.
Re: Suicide Squad Leak Reveals Live Service Elements Like a Battle Pass, More
I expected the GaaS garbage polluting this game in some fashion. I did not expect it to be mission based with how they made the gameplay look, that’s also a huge bummer.
Re: Mad FPS Atomic Heart Alters Visuals to Hit 60fps on PS5
It’s going to be fun to see how this one plays out. I really hope it’s as good as it looks, but if not the discourse is going to be wild.
Re: What Happened to Little Devil Inside?
Looks really cool but it’s starting to get the vaporware vibe. Really hope not since it did seem pretty original overall
Re: Mini Review: Breakers Collection (PS5) - Cult 90s Fighter Finally Finds a Bigger Audience
I emulated this game years ago on the advice of a friend and it rules. Really hard.
Re: Atomic Heart Sure Looks Sick on a Superpowered PC
I agree with what many have said here, looks incredible but I see this one having a catch. Could be that it’s extremely short or copy pasted since the team was smaller for so long.
My goodness though these hype videos are wild

Re: Game of the Year: #7 - Sonic Frontiers
Honestly I’m not even a huge sonic fan but I got this for Xmas and playing it now. It’s not perfect but seriously fun, good job by Sega.
I can see this paving the way for some seriously good games.
Re: New PS5, PS4 Games This Week (26th December to 1st January)
It’s always been weird to me the indies and smaller studio games don’t release around this time. People have money and gift cards burning a hole in their pocket, go get it.
Re: Soapbox: I Saved Xmas from a Rogue Elf in Train Sim World 3 on PS5, PS4
You’re getting me dangerously close to buying this game. I’ve never really played a sim but it sounds so laid back and cool.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Witcher 3 PS5 Version?
Game stands the test of time as one of the greatest ever IMO. Happily rated and this will be an eternal 10/10 would play again.

Re: Harry Potter Game Hogwarts Legacy Looks Like Pure PS5 Magic in Huge Showcase
I was never a huge HP fan (age likely) but this looks so beautiful. Have to see some reviews but this is a buy if it plays like the video.

Re: Industrious Horror Dev Bloober Team Signs with Private Division for New Project
@get2sammyb Maybe it’s just me. Felt like tons of cheap jump scares and a lot of turning around to a set dressing change.
SH2 does look really good though.
Re: Industrious Horror Dev Bloober Team Signs with Private Division for New Project

Re: Poll: What Is Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year 2022?
I’m just glad Signalis is on the list lol.
Please play this game everyone

Re: Gallery: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Looks Like a Force Leap Above Fallen Order on PS5
Looks great so far. First one was really fun, this is a day 1 for sure.
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Game Awards 2022?
They had better pacing this year but still way too long. The insane Bill Clinton comment from the weirdo at the end really put a bow on it too.
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Summons June 2023 Release Date, Another Superb Trailer
Sweet doodley ding dong this looks crazy. Hype achieved you got me SE
Re: US Government's FTC Will Attempt to Block Microsoft's Activision Buyout
@nessisonett This is also extremely true. If they’re going to investigate the deal maybe they should pop their head in on the employees.

Re: River City Girls 2 Flexes on PS5, PS4 from 15th December
First game is so much fun. $40 is a little wild but this seems to have a ton more content so can’t really complain, will be there day 1
Re: You'll Play as a Zombie in Dead Island 2, New Gameplay Reveals
I hope this is good but I can see the jank from a mile away
Hopefully 6 billion light years in development will give us a fun open world to kill stuff in.

Re: Gorgeous Indie Game GRIS Given PS5 Version, Runs at 4K 120fps
Great title with a good message. Beautiful art doesn’t hurt either.
Re: Feature: 8 PS5, PS4, Predictions for The Game Awards 2022
I agree with the Death Stranding prediction, makes too much sense.
Then again Sony has been so coy about their future plans that we could see another a Kojima game altogether.
Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Listed for a 16th March 2023 Release
Really looking forward to this one. First game was pretty shocking considering how good it was for a Star Wars game after KOTOR
Re: Rumour: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for December 2022 Leaked Early
Pretty sure Divine Knockout is a F2P title so that’s a strange addition unless they’re bundling some free stuff in there.
ME is a great add and Biomutant was a good mindless game for podcast listening I guess.
Re: God of War Ragnarok Gets Its First Game of the Year Award from TIME Magazine
@BranJ0 Very true, hopefully a lot of the stuff slated for 23 will actually come out. So I’ll say how great 23 should THEORETICALLY be lol
Re: God of War Ragnarok Gets Its First Game of the Year Award from TIME Magazine
Considering 2022 was another year that wasn’t exactly packed with bangers like 23 is shaping up to be, we should be thrilled we got GoW and Elden Ring months apart.
Who cares who wins, we all won.
Re: PS Plus Extra Was Designed as a 'Best of' PS Now Game List

Re: Survival Horror Darkwood Provides the Perfect Halloween Experience, Now Available on PS5
For the love of god, play this game. Best survival horror experience of the last 20 years.
Re: Hands On: Crunchy Combat Shines in PS5, PS4's Wildly Impressive The Callisto Protocol
Holy macaroni this looks good. I’m somehow even more pumped for this than GoW
Re: Mini Review: Signalis (PS4) - Last-Gen Release Has Its Feet in the Future
Sam how does the game run? Looks great but sometimes the PSX style games had frame rates that got a little chunky on PS4.
Very interested in this one for sure.
