As much as I loved this game I had my fill by the end, probably wouldn’t play a DLC.
Unpopular opinion but I would focus more on tighter areas with more unique scenarios for a game like this next go, a lot of the content ended up feeling bloated.
I never thought I would say this but we need E3 back. It wrangled all of this stupidity neatly into one weekend where you knew it was time to drop the big one and wait until whatever mid year show Keighly has planned.
I don’t understand all of the comparison to things like final fantasy or street fighter here. Yes, Sony could have let these games go multi platform and it would have been better for gamers. But we’re not talking about arcade fighters or RPGs here we’re talking about COD.
This is a game that the most casual of casual gamers buy yearly and could probably sell its own console. The other games make a difference, this is a franchise where exclusivity could define an entire platform. PlayStation is fighting with the timed and Japanese exclusives and Microsoft is dropping the hydrogen bomb with this one.
Dumb sh*t all around here but this one is a major coup by Phil.
That looks amazing. If both this and the last faith actually release this year the fall is actually looking incredible right now with the AAA stuff coming out as well.
Why would anyone at Sony care about the old release date for a game? I’m with the Schreier explanation on this one, it’s probably some subliminal insanity over the date in the marketing department.
Glad to see all the hype for Callisto or anything survival horror. I hope it delivers but still thinking this is a February-April 2023 game before long.
Meme was super cringe but the replies on this thing are legendary. I feel bad because the account is probably run by a 25 year old post grad student that just lost their job.
I always read your name as Graham Bananas and I love it.
Great read and as someone who has loved From since kings field I totally get it. You’re either pulled in by the oddities and the gameplay loop or you aren’t. I found Elden Ring to be really easy but I also punish myself with these games constantly so Elden Ring giving you so many outs as far as build and leveling made this a little pedantic. IMO Bloodborne is a very different and much better game, but that’s purely a matter of taste.
I also have to say the open world nature of this game was really very strange to me. I felt like it wanted me to explore but more often than not I either found absolutely nothing or a copy pasted boss with a spell I didn’t even have to stats to use. Still loved it but definitely felt a little stunted in that way.
Ok but I still have the same question, why?? Statistically these things are failing at an absolutely bonkers clip and you’re talking about massive resources both financially and talent wise.
I understand not wanting to be left behind but the live service model has been wholly rejected by gamers in general. The massive ones are absolutely huge but there are 15 failures for every success.
Not hating and Sony are genius when it comes to new IP but wow this is bet the farm risky IMO.
This is going to be nothing. Probably a good one for VR enthusiasts but the rest of us will be waiting until September to see if they do another true showcase.
Just got the plat in this Thursday. It was solid but not even close to Sanctuary.
My main issue was consistent stunlock from nearly every enemy. I was playing with a great sword and class 5 heavy armor and my character was bouncing around the screen like a nerf ball with no option to recover for about 30% of the game. This is with super high poise as well.
Overall hugely missed opportunity but I will say the combat, systems and super strange world/lore are still there and had me coming back regardless.
@naruball That’s actually a really good point. I just can’t imagine 9 failed titles from first party studios is good for them long term at all. I guess they need to start gambling to keep up financially now though.
I may be in the minority here but I’ve never played a live service game I actually liked.
This hyper focus from Sony when virtually every one of these projects has failed outside of Destiny, Fortnite and Warzone is pretty damning for the future on paper.
I want to like the tactical/CRPGs so badly but they just don’t click with me. That said the board game really is awesome and this looks fantastic in action
I’m gonna give them a year of premium and see what it does. Not a huge investment to play some ps1 and ps2 games in comfort and if it works out great, if not I’ll go back to essential next June.
They’re trying here so we should give them the benefit of the doubt that this won’t suck.
It’s the meta game and it’s gotten completely out of control. I love plats as much anyone but I only have 62 in all these years for a reason, either it’s a good list that respects your time or it’s not.
But now we’re paying purely for pings?? E-clout is really getting weird now.

Re: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for October 2022 Announced
I’m into trying hot wheels but the rest are just ok.
Re: TV Show Review: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Netflix) - Hyperviolent Anime Is a Perfect 2077 Companion
I went in with zero expectations, not being a huge anime fan I was blown away by this thing.
Again could have been because I didn’t think I would love it but getting ready for a rewatch now. Highly recommended!!!
Re: Pro Wrestling Grapples with Turn-Based RPGs in WrestleQuest on PS5, PS4
This looks funny and is all about the ridiculous era of wrestling I grew up with. All over this day 1.
Re: Random: YouTuber Exposed As Embargo Breaking Video Game Insider
What a sad weird world we live in where someone is willing to leak other peoples work and just outright lie to get strangers to look at their text.
Who cares dude you just spilled what a whole team of people have been working on for years over less than nothing. Round of applause for this dweeb.
Re: EA Publishing AAA Feudal Japan Title from Koei Tecmo's Omega Force
This is too weird to be bad. Honestly I wish more publishers were doing this kind of stuff
Re: Reaction: Publishers Are Getting Worse at Nintendo Direct-Style Livestreams

The video game Wild West is a scary place…

Re: NetEase to Fully Acquire Detroit: Become Human Studio Quantic Dream
Great a country that can’t be trusted with digital information buying up a company run by a pretentious psychopath. What could go wrong.
Re: Resident Evil Netflix Series Won't Be Renewed for a Second Season
Once I saw Lance Reddick dressed up like Blade I knew this show was over.
Re: Devolver Debunks Ludicrous Rumour Claiming Sony Paid to Keep Cult of the Lamb Off Xbox Game Pass
KF sucks if I’m being honest. “Famous” friends and woke mob have become a little redundant.
I thought the original 4 guys were hysterical a lot of the time too. It’s sad.
Re: Hogwarts Legacy Delayed, Launches in February 2023
2023 is going to be seriously insane.
Re: 2D Souls-Like Moonscars May Fill the Void Left by Elden Ring

Re: Very First Look at Yakuza: Like a Dragon Sequel Surfaces
Controversial opinion but I think this is far and away the best yakuza game. Loved the characters and the battle system was a blast.
Here’s to hoping we get some news sooner than later
Re: MultiVersus Trophy List Looks Like a Massive Grind for the Platinum
Crazy boosting here. My hats off to anyone who gets these organically as this is a massive time sink.
Re: Rumour: God of War Ragnarok Had Starfield's Old Release Date Before Being Moved at the Last Minute

Re: TV Show Review: Resident Evil (Netflix) - Braindead Horror for the Riverdale Crowd
It’s fine. Watch ozark instead.
Re: Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course Passes an Impressive Sales Milestone: One Million Units Sold
Even though it’s a little short there’s a lot of fun to be had. Most importantly they were realistic and made it 8 bucks.
Re: Poll: Is The Last of Us: Part 1 Really a 'Cash Grab'?
Gr8 B8 M8
In all seriousness it seems cool but the 70 dollar price tag is beyond egregious.
Re: Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway Features Full Voice Acting, Watercrafts
This logo looks like it was done by a rushed teenager in a graphic design class the night before the final.
Re: Feature: Your Most Anticipated PS5, PS4 Games for the Rest of 2022
Glad to see all the hype for Callisto or anything survival horror. I hope it delivers but still thinking this is a February-April 2023 game before long.
Re: Frenetic FPS Bright Memory: Infinite Speeds Its Way Onto PS5, July 21st
Game is a blast but basically a monetized proof of concept. Maybe 3-5 hours total and some pretty samey stuff.
Fantastic gameplay but not worth more than 15 bucks unless they really add some content to this version.
Re: Action RPG Valkyrie Elysium Gets September Release Date, New Gameplay Trailer
@nessisonett This is everything I was thinking but you said it far better. Maybe the strangest square game this year and that’s a high bar.

Re: Star Ocean: The Divine Force Locks October Release Date on PS5, PS4
@Grumblevolcano Wow that is insane. Welp I retract my statement
Re: Star Ocean: The Divine Force Locks October Release Date on PS5, PS4
Writing is on the wall with this release date, Forspoken gets delayed into 2023.
Then again it could be good old Square throwing all of their games into a 1-2 month span so what do I know.
Re: Mini Review: Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel (PS5) - Hotel Hell Makes for Effective Survival Horror
I’ll try any console survival horror that’s got inventory management and heavy puzzles. At 30 bucks it’s probably worth a go, nice review
Re: Evil West Gameplay Looks Like God of War with Guns
They should have shown this in the first place.
Will wait for reviews but this looks like a schlocky blast.
Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge (PS4) - Brilliant Beat-'Em-Up Is Best in Co-Op
@get2sammyb Any chance a 5 year old with limited gaming skills could play this with me on easy?
Re: Some Fans Think PSP's Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Is Getting a PS5, PS4 Remaster
@Ashina Thanks dude when I was reading this is started thinking I was crazy. Definitely don’t have the patience for an FF7 wiki today lol
Re: Some Fans Think PSP's Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Is Getting a PS5, PS4 Remaster
This is very strange. Maybe I’m misremembering but doesn’t the end of FF7 remake directly contradict the end of Crisis Core?
Re: Forgotten Multiplayer Spin-Off Resident Evil Re:Verse Gobbles a Green Herb on 28th October
I respect the hell out of them for really trying to make this a thing but it’ll be DOA like always.
Re: Poll: Was Summer Game Fest Live a Show to Remember?
I thought it was ok considering the state of gaming is in flux right now.
Xbox show will probably be a banger and we can all bank on that Kojima horror being an exclusive now.
Re: Hideo Kojima Reportedly Developing a Horror Game Named Overdose
This will be what makes me buy an Xbox. Major coup for Microsoft if this guy finally delivers on the promise of PT and it’s theirs.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Sniper Elite 5?
This is a really surprising 8-9 game. I’m having much more fun than I did with 4 and the amount of stupid situations you can get into is hysterical

Re: PS Plus Games for Asia Officially Confirmed
Rough list. Some seriously great titles here for sure but this is MUCH much less than they promised.
I’m assuming they meant 400 games over time or this year etc. or they will be adding more through the end of launch in late June
Re: Mini Review: Salt and Sacrifice (PS5) - Change Isn't Always Good in This Disappointing Sequel
Just got the plat in this Thursday. It was solid but not even close to Sanctuary.

Re: Hideo Kojima Appears to Acknowledge Norman Reedus' Death Stranding 2 Leak
As great as Death Stranding was we really need this Kojima horror game to finally happen.
You can’t release a 30 minute teaser that changes the entire genre and never do anything with it
Re: PlayStation London Studio Seems to Be Making a Fantasy-Based Live Service Game
@naruball That’s actually a really good point. I just can’t imagine 9 failed titles from first party studios is good for them long term at all. I guess they need to start gambling to keep up financially now though.

Re: The Callisto Protocol Fronts the Next Game Informer Issue
There’s no way in hell this comes out in 2022 but I’ll bet it’s awesome regardless.
If we get even 50% of a current gen dead space people will flip out. We’re counting on you Schofield!!!
Re: Highly Rated Dungeon Crawling RPG Gloomhaven Ventures to Consoles in 2023
I want to like the tactical/CRPGs so badly but they just don’t click with me. That said the board game really is awesome and this looks fantastic in action
Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS Plus Extra or Premium?
I’m gonna give them a year of premium and see what it does. Not a huge investment to play some ps1 and ps2 games in comfort and if it works out great, if not I’ll go back to essential next June.
They’re trying here so we should give them the benefit of the doubt that this won’t suck.
Re: Oh, Joy! Second Resident Evil Netflix Trailer Sets Up the Story
This looks like absolute piss IMO. Very Netflix but hopefully it’s less like the movies than it seems.
Re: Trek to Yomi's Action Packed Launch Trailer Sets the Tone Ahead of Tomorrow's Launch
This looks so cool but the gameplay looked a little jank and the trophy list looks extremely short.
Hoping for the best with all this style but need some reviews for substance
Re: Pay for PS5, PS4 Platinum Trophies Is Rampant on PS Store Right Now
It’s the meta game and it’s gotten completely out of control. I love plats as much anyone but I only have 62 in all these years for a reason, either it’s a good list that respects your time or it’s not.
But now we’re paying purely for pings?? E-clout is really getting weird now.
Re: Microsoft Bigwig Implies PS5 Is Losing Marketshare to Xbox
@get2sammyb Totally agree with all of this. Hate to say it but it’s time to churn up the hype machine if things are getting bad.
People may be excited to buy your product if, you know, we had a clue what the hell you were making.
