This is by far the easiest Fromsoft plat out there. You basically have to beat every major boss and follow a guide for legendary items. As far as I know there’s one boss and item that are even missable.
In a game where you have spirit ashes and people constantly available to summon in… this isn’t really a tough one after you get used to the gameplay.
@Snake_V5 There are a few reasons. One is Microsoft has their hands in so many cookie jars that Xbox is the bully no matter what. Like most businesses when the big box comes to town they will just nuke your price and lose money until you have to take your ball and go home. They have deeper pockets so you’re losing from jump street.
Two is peoples misconception of what Sony is actually worth in relation to Microsoft. They obviously dominate in movies and music as well but their technology footprint keeps getting lighter and can’t live off massive globally sourced government contracts for software/hardware/R&D.
They can never and will never compete with Microsoft financially so these are the things that we as consumers have to support to keep them around or take the value proposition and move to xbox for day and date titles.
This is Sony’s Kobayashi Maru. It’s going to be billed as a gamepass competitor whether they want it to or not and they’ve already said multiple times that model isn’t sustainable.
My prediction is it’s solid, gives us old games a lot of us have been dying to play (hopefully real old with trophy support but that’s a pipe dream) and we get much better bang for our monthly buck. People still riot anyway.
I usually hate F2P in almost any capacity but this game slaps hard. My PC is a joke but I’ve sat over some friends shoulders and watched, pretty wild stuff.
They already would have been over 6 years out so taking the time to make the best possible game is good for everyone.
Unpopular opinion but I could still see Hogwarts getting delayed by mid to end of summer. Those rumors came from somewhere and while the state of play was obviously polished as hell, the pandemic must have crushed a lot of these teams and we haven’t really felt that yet.
I truly believe that this is the title that ended the “indie” game conversation. Regardless of studio size making something impactful is about vision just like music, movies, visual art etc. and gaming wasn’t getting that kind of recognition (guess you could argue it isn’t too much better now)
Regardless of your opinion on this game it was an experience and that is awesome.
All of these rumors are hilarious. Everyone gets worked up for these 20-30 minute shows and it’s 17 minutes of ***** no one asked for plus the one obvious thing everyone knows will be there.
And then we all bitch and say it sucks. The cycle continues here guaranteed.
I liked what I played of this a lot. Give me a decent trophy set with an attainable single playthrough plat and I could see the motivation to dig a little deeper into it.
I think it’s the scalping scene from what I see online.
As stupid as this sounds with the MK argument it’s context. Mortal Kombat is seen as this hyper violent cartoon with over the top violence that has somehow become normalized. This is a slow paced horror that relishes in this horrible stuff so you get something completely different from it sensory wise.
This game would be really weird with an easy mode. Loving it so far but if they want the average gamer, let alone someone with a disability, to enjoy this that’s the only option. I just can’t imagine the short scale content would seem reasonable without consistent repetition.
Got this day one and couldn’t get enough. Played through it entirely when a friend told me about Vincent, Yuffie, Emerald & Ruby and Knights of the Round. Immediately dug my feet in and played the whole thing over again.
It’s sad to realize how jaded we become as adults arguing about game pass and NFT’s but i know I’ll never be that excited about a video game again.
Sony would do their own version of gamepass lightyears before they even whispered this in a board meeting.
Article gets it exactly right, Sony’s entire model is based on software and subscription services. Gamepass would eat into their bottom line tremendously and Microsoft would have to give them a post 50/50 deal to even start this conversation.
The idea people have that this is coming or should be makes no sense UNLESS Microsoft pins Sony down so hard in the future that they have to allow it on PlayStation platforms to survive.
If there’s any positive here I truly believed Activision was posturing to buy Fromsoft when they published Sekiro considering how weird that move was. At least they didn’t find a way to make that happen.
This is business 101 man, if you can’t beat them buy up every market segment they sell in and wait until they rot.
Hate to say it but COD alone is going to cause an extreme shift in hardware sales by this time next year. This could be a day we’re talking about with serious disdain in 10 years time.
I think the reality is only Microsoft can afford this model. While Sony can certainly afford to offer far more than what’s on PS Plus lately it would be insane to think they have the money that Microsoft does, especially looking at government contracts they hold globally.
As long as we have good value for the money people will buy, they may cry initially but anything is better than the current model. I’m setting the expectations low and hoping for the best. It’s probably better we don’t all start rooting for a race to the bottom here and end up with trash.
As much of a whopper as dying light 1 is now I get people buying into this but not at launch. I’m sure they’ll support this for years but it took a LONG time for dying light to get as big as it is now.
There’s absolutely no way this is true. This is most likely referring to all of the endings they’ve touted.
If you had to play through the entirety of the story and play side quests multiple times MAYBE it would make up this number but my guess is he’s talking about a standard play through times 6 or 7 to get that number.
I was really excited to play this game until all of the negative player reception. Still looks awesome but I’m not sure I’ve heard anyone have a positive reaction to it.
This was a great piece and I agree with all of it. I think without innovation things will always become stagnant.
They certainly do have to deal with the fact that no one can buy a ps5 to this day and Gamepass is getting more powerful but we’re talking about one of the biggest tech giants in the world. They could hire hundreds if not thousands of people to deal with each of those problems individually easy.
I honestly thought this one deserved a fleshed out sequel. It definitely had some generic moments but overall it was fun and the horde mechanic was very cool.
Another entry could easily have been more of the same but even at 8 million you should have let them try. That’s a pretty rare crack at an established fan base and a better game that Microsoft would likely kill for in their current first party lineup.
Loved Returnal but the repetition of this game turned me off after a while. Beautiful and plays like a dream but something about the core gameplay got stale.
Great lineup. At least on PC, deep rock galactic is one of the best co-op games I’ve played. Seriously put it up there with L4D and Portal 2. I was also about to buy Strikers here soon so PS+ saving me for once lol
Hate LoL honestly but the show has been great so far. Watching Sting sing a song at an awards show for video games is going to be strange, we’ve sure come a long way.
Ubi putting a $40 price point on this is concerning with how hard into monetization they’ve been. Game actually looks pretty cool so hopefully it’s not as barebones as this makes it seem.
This is a good idea. If nothing else games like Loop Hero and Inscryption that generate buzz will actually come to PlayStation. Devolver has done an excellent job finding great indie games but so few are platform agnostic. This may be a way to incentivize them to get these titles on PlayStation day and date from the more PC focused developers.
PS We all want Inscryption on PlayStation, it really is that good. And weird.
They should go ahead and just make far cry 6 20-30 bucks and we’ll all buy it. You know they’re doing it by the end of next month for Black Friday anyway
It’s so dumb that people get up in arms about this stuff. “You’re making PlayStation obsolete!!” Yeah man all you have to do now is wait 3 years to play a game most of us couldn’t wait 3 days to play. If you’re down to wait that’s awesome but you’re an extreme minority here.

Re: Sifu Shares Free Update Roadmap for 2022, Difficulty Options Coming Next Week
This game needed some tweaking bad. Some sections were so badly balanced it made Elden Ring look like a children’s game.
Re: Jane Foster Is the Next Playable Superhero in Marvel's Avengers
I don’t know about you guys but I wouldn’t touch this game again on a bet.

It’s going to be hard to trust these guys again when the hype machine undoubtedly revs up here.
Man do I hope this game is as good as it could be.
Re: Talking Point: What PS1, PS2, and PSP Games Do You Want on PS Plus Premium?
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
Alien Trilogy
Silent Hill 1-3
Clock Tower
Final Fantasy Tactics
Ape Escape 1-2
Metal Gear 1-3
Xenogears
God of War 1-2
Come on Sony this isn’t too crazy just do it
Re: Nobody Saves the World Seemingly Primed for PS5 Release
I really want to play this thing!! Since the file size is already there and it isn’t some random Korean ratings board hopefully this is imminent.
Maybe a day one with Spartacus since this launched on gamepass? Probably financially in Sony’s wheelhouse as a solid starter to see how subs react.

Re: Who Ya Gonna Call?! Your PS5, PS4 Pals for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed
If this was a 4 player PvE without the “play as the ghost!” stuff I’d be all in.
I enjoyed Friday the 13th and even logged a decent amount of time with Predator but this seems like a majorly missed opportunity.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PS5, PS4 Still Pegged to Release This Year
I’m pretty shocked they aren’t already marketing the hell out of this. Maybe it’s a November game?
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version Out Now
@Milktastrophe Good enough for me thanks a ton. Game was good not great so I need a reason to slog through it again at some point.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version and Update 1.5 Out Now
Can anyone confirm if this has a standalone trophy list or if it’s just a standard upgrade patch?

So far Sifu has been f**king brutal.
Re: Atomic Heart Releasing at the End of This Year, Looks Mental

I’m really enjoying it. 5 hours in on PS5 and no bugs to speak of so day one patch must have done something.
Re: Incredible Bloodborne PS1 Demake Proves Shockingly Popular on PC
@rawzeku That’s exactly what I was coming to say. If it stays up that’s awesome for Sony not to kill all the work that clearly went into this.
I would love to see more of this. Also bring back nightmare creatures you cowards.
