Re: Reaction: Sony Kickstarts the Summer with Sizzling State of Play

GorosBat

@Irae PS5 is and will always be the best and most accessible way to play sony exclusive games. Yes PC will have the "superior" version, but the cost to get that is ludicrous compared to a ps5's performance. I will give you an example with my PC, I spent over $3k AUD on my PC, with an RTX 3070 in it. It can technically do better performance than a ps5, but since PC ports have to account for a wide array of setups, most games are unoptimised and can have issues you won't experience with a console. A big difference between console and PC right now is on PC, you can't run variable resolutions so 9/10 games I run can't do 4k unless I want my PC to sound like a ps4 pro running Read Dead Redemption, as you have to play the game at the native 4k 100% of the time. There is DLSS on Nvidia Cards now which does help, but most of the time I run current games at 1440p 60fps. So to conclude, I've payed over triple the price of a ps5 ($750 AUD) to get maybe 10% increased performance over ps5, I get all the added features of it being a PC, coupled with the crazy customisability, ability to tweak games to my desire and option to use a second monitor (which is a godsend), so it's worth it to me.

PC gaming is certainly for some console gamers but I'd have to say 90-95% who only play on console will never make the change over as this stuff is so expensive to even get into if you want comparable performance to ps5, not to mention the 1 million problems that can go wrong with a PC. I built my first PC and had a lot of problems, took my first year of owning it to fully understand how to fix it after I got scammed $650 for a repair when it turned out I just had a faulty power supply. PC is amazing when everything works, but when it doesn't it's the most horrible experience when you realise how much you've spent on it. So keep your head up, it isn't the end of the world if playstation games eventually all come to PC, Sony won't stop making consoles in the foreseeable future and people will never stop buying consoles, maybe try out PC gaming one day and if it isn't for you there's no problem with that.

Re: Star Ocean: The Divine Force Not Part of State of Play

GorosBat

@UltimateOtaku91 Don't underestimate Squares ability to produce games, the only other company that even competes with them in terms of games published would be Nintendo. They've already released Life is Strange Remastered, FF 6 Pixel remaster, Babylon's Fall, Chrono Cross, Triangle Strategy and the Centenial Case: A shijima story. Forspoken and Live a Live are coming this year 100% and I have a strong feeling Diofield Chronicles and Dragon Quest Treasures will also hit. Next year will be FF 16 if it doesn't come this year, if it doesn't maybe FF 7 Remake part 2 as the blockbuster. Valkyrie Elysium next year with Star Ocean, maybe DQ 3 HD 2d, another remaster with that art style and the nvidia leaked FF tactics remaster, wouldn't be surprised if another Kingdom Hearts spin-off comes as well. The more I type the more I realise how much of a powerhouse Square Enix is regardless if all of their titles are good or not, I'd say most of the games they've published this year are average to outstanding except Babylon's Fall. So I really wouldn't be worried about Square 2023 if I were you😉

Re: It Must Be Summer, Because Clearly Fake State of Play Leaks are Spreading on Social Media

GorosBat

If a leak is not made by an actual company I will never give credence to it, also people need to stop listening to Jeff Grubb, the dude has made his career out of being a "leaker" and is always covering his ar## whenever he's wrong. I understand that information for leaks can change on a daily basis as development plans can always be changed last minute. What I'm trying to say is I'm completely sick of leaking culture in video games, companies should be transparent about what games they're making or having better policies in place to stop idiots from leaking their games every other day. We've gotten to the point where game announcements aren't exciting anymore because 90% of the time we know about them years before they're announced.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 428

GorosBat

@throwmeaname Lmao great recommendation, but I beat you to the point and have already played it, whilst I do praise the story of 13 sentinels it just didn't seem to grab me as much as others who've played that game. I liked the concept of the story but I'm not a fan of out of order storylines, don't get me wrong, when it is done in small doses it can be fantastic but for me personally, when it's the entire game it just wasn't for me. A recommendation from me to you is the Ace Attorney games, especially the first one which I think is a masterpiece so good that I've replayed it and plan to play it a 3rd time later this year. Music in Danganronpa and Ace Attorney series is spectacular and they both have tracks that keep my head bopping even after hearing them for the 100th time.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 428

GorosBat

Danganronpa v3: Game is amazing, just beat the 4th trial which was superb. This game continues to toy with my thought process as I like to theorise who the killer is for each trial before I actually find out who it is, I like thinking of motivations and how they dunnit through the subtle hints and information the game gives you leading up to the murder. Little do I know that these "hints" are made to throw off the player into thinking the killer is someone else. Absolute god tier storytelling and I fall for it every single time, well done Spike Chunsoft, your Visual novels are legendary and I applaud the crazy people making these games (like seriously how the heck do they come up with some of this stuff😂) I'm eagerly anticipating AI The Somnium Files: Nirvana Initiative and can't wait to go through another emotional train of a game😭

My Time at Portia: So I saw My Time at Sandrock was going into early access this week, but instead of that I'm going to play My Time at Portia. It was in a Fanatical bundle for $8AU, they historically have bad bundles for games as it's usually the same stuff rehashed 100 times but this bundle had 4 games in it that I'd play so I picked it up. It had Blasphemous and My Time at Portia, so those alone made it worth it, but it also came with Cook,Serve Delicious 3 and Mordid the Seven Acolytes which look cool also. So for $2 each I couldn't say no (this is turning into a problem, my library of games just keeps going up😭). Took me a while to finally try this out, I remember downloading it on Xbox Game Pass once and uninstalled it before I even started for no apparent reason, so it was a nice surprise when I booted it up properly for the first time. It's a farming, town builder, ARPG, Social crafting game all in one. Welp, RIP my life, I can see myself poring 10's of hours into it and could be my next gaming addiction!

Cook, Serve, Delicious 3: Cooking game in the vein of those cafe manager type games, haven't tried it yet but I know the formula, so this could be one of those games I play and 5 hours pass without me noticing.

Kao the Kangaroo: I caved and bought the game, expensive for how long reviewers are saying the game is but since this is a collectathon I'm not worried as I've put in 4 hours and the game says about 30% complete! Game has a bit of jank and has a few glitches that I've experienced in regards to the games main collectible that is used for unlocking levels. I beat a level then came back for clean up and for some reason even though I had 4/4 gems there was one in the world so I picked it up and now instead of 19 in total I have 20, weird (hope that doesn't mess with trophies). Even so, I'm having a delightful time with the game and is really scratching my Spyro itch. I'd recommend the game right now to anyone who has an adoration for these types of games, but if you don't maybe wait for a sale and for the developers to patch the game a little more.

Dragon Quest XI S Definitive Edition: Game is contention of my favourite JRPG along side Persona 5 Royal! I'm finding that I love the game even more this second time round and want to do EVERYTHING this game has to offer, this game deserves to be completed 100% by me, I just want more Dragon Quest in general, DQ3 HD-2d this year, the chibi Erik game and maybe a DQ builders 3 announcement! (I can only dream).

Edit: My thoughts on Cook, Serve Delicious 3 after playing: YES

Re: Poll: Do You Care About PlayStation TV Shows?

GorosBat

@Blackjay It does in seasons 7-8 and then regains momentum after that, I won't spoil it but at the end of season 6 the show kills off a certain character, which was a tipping point for many long time viewers. It's worth a watch just to see Norman Reedus in his element!

Re: Poll: Do You Care About PlayStation TV Shows?

GorosBat

I don't really care for tv in general lol, if I ever watch anything I spend the money for the month for whatever service I need and binge the heck out of the show then cancel. Rewatching entire Walking Dead Series and am having a ball, season 5 is fantastic. Don't need to watch Last of Us show as I already have my zombie show fill and have already played both games.

Re: CDPR Confirms Most Devs Now on Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion as New Witcher Enters Pre-Production

GorosBat

@Bismarck You're right! That's why the game has over 18 million sales and whenever it goes on sale digitally it always climbs high on the charts, especially on steam. FYI I'm not white knighting for the game, yes the game hasn't sold the numbers CDPR expected and has been the largest PR blunder in all of gaming but it will continue to sell throughout the years, especially with new DLC. I'm not even going to purchase the game until the game is literally finished with all updates and content, maybe in 2 years, maybe 5 or possibly never, only thing we can hope for is they learn their lesson for Witcher 4.

Re: Sony 'Not at All Finished' Growing PlayStation Studios via Acquisitions

GorosBat

Can we all step back and just take a look at Nintendo. They hardly ever make acquisitions yet since 2017 when the switch launched they've had a steady flow of releases since launch, they are such a well oiled machine and really are the industry standard when it comes to quality. Less studios than both sony and microsoft yet they have more releases than both combined every single year, I really wonder how they do it.

If sony gets anyone it should be square enix or atlus, although I really don't want either to be taken because it's only been recent that several of those franchises have started going multiplatform and I wouldn't want to see these games taken away from any platform, especially the Nintendo Switch, A significant proportion of Squares identity is on the Switch these days with the HD-2D games, I don't want to see that go away. If anything, just continue with timed exclusives at the most (although that's annoying too).

Re: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Protects the Precious on PS5, PS4 This September

GorosBat

@KidBoruto TBH I don't care if a game is Indie AA or AAA as a good game is a good game, but I will answer nonetheless. These opinions are as follows and are based off what I've seen:

Saints Row- This game looks like a blur between the lines of AA and AAA, the graphics look last gen, hence the last gen versions and gameplay looks like a normal saints row game, we can obviously say that it isn't a blockbuster based on money spent on the game but it certainly doesn't look low budget, hence why I said it's a blur between the lines. Reminds me of Ubisoft's watch dogs games.

Forspoken- This is a tough one as if we base it solely on the money spent and the way Square Enix is marketing the game Forspoken for all tense and purposes will be a blockbuster. The fact that this game is next gen exclusive this early on in the generation only further supports this statement. Particle effects, world size, density and of course fast load speeds have the high budget feel but it feels like something is missing, maybe we haven't seen enough to have a definitive answer yet on the quality. The game is getting made by the FF 15 team so this could honestly go both ways. In conclusion, the game is definitely on the higher end of budgets which would be considered a blockbuster, but I don't know what you consider blockbuster? Is it just cost of the game to produce or is it sales, so my answer for Forspoken will be your choice between those two factors.

Hope that helps😀

Re: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Protects the Precious on PS5, PS4 This September

GorosBat

@KidBoruto Honestly the only one I'm picking up day 1 is Soul Hackers 2, only other one I'm interested in is Trails but I need to play the sky series first and maybe Gotham Knights which I also want to play the Batman Arkham games beforehand. You missed Hogwarts Legacy also, if that actually sticks the date. I was being hyperbolic when referring to no games coming out, there aren't really any "blockbusters" coming after the heavy loaded February-March period this year, but that could and probably will change after summer games fest in June-July.
Rumours are saying we might be getting FF 16 in the holiday period, so that could be a great get for gamers. Personally I have Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak coming at the end of June so I will technically be set for the rest of the year and will devote most of my gaming time towards that and cleaning up my backlog!

Re: PS Plus Members in Asia Irate As Sony Wipes Discounts on Tier Upgrades, Demands Upfront Fee for Stacked Subs

GorosBat

@themightyant I'm one of those weirdos who'd put Majoras Mask or Skyward sword as my favourite in terms of SoulsBorne, my rankings would be:
Sekiro -best combat bar none
Bloodborne- British people and cosmic horror + fast combat
Demons Souls- This game literally inspired so many areas in all games to follow, has the best atmosphere in tower of Latria and worst swamp in series (which means it's the best one)
DS 1undead burg- up till gragoyles, Capra and Gaping Dragon in sewers is literally the best early game level design of any game period IMO
Elden Ring - oooft, thought it was going to surpass at least Demons but after 70 hours you kinda seen it done that, if From trimmed the game down and you could do all the best content in around 60 hours game would have been 11/10 for me in the end.
DS 3 Literally the throwback game, but definitely felt the best to play out of the trilogy but was really short as I remember beating it in about 23 hours completely blind when it came out, haven't played DLC though.
DS 2 Scholar I'd give a 9 but you kinda look at all the other games and say yep this is the worst but still a good game.

God now I wanna replay the series, except Elden Ring. I think I'd need 5 years before I go back to that as it burnt me out.

Re: Third Party Publishers Probably Ditching Their Own Events This Summer

GorosBat

Over the years the only half decent publisher event was a Square Enix one which if I remember correctly was literally just a digital presentation but on a stage. Glad I will never see an EA, Ubisoft or Bethesda showcase again, I don't need to see presentations where they hire people to scream in a crowd over a new skin or free "dlc" being announced, looking at you Bethesda. Devolver has funny skits though, so I hope they do something again this year, they're the only ones who understand how to do it right, TBH most publishers don't ever have enough content to even consider having a showcase unless you're Square Enix. I know many of Square's games this year have been hit or miss but they just keep pumping out release after release.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 427

GorosBat

Dragon Quest XI S: I'm replaying this game for the first time as I played the original version and only played up to the "Main" ending so I have a lot of reasons to play this again with the new added content to this version. Already put 17 hours into the game and am up to the Gondola part and I laugh as I say "This is one of my favourite parts" literally every time I get to a new section of the game! I just love the cosy atmosphere that Dragon Quest games have that no other JRPG compares to IMO, I just love talking to all the characters in each town, raiding people's houses through their drawers, taking their books and smashing their pots. The game is just a relaxing experience all around, I like just standing and slow panning the camera on multiple occasions which I literally don't do in any game more than once but in DQ I can't help myself! Turn based JRPGs are my preference over real time any day (guess it's my pokemon background as a child) and the soundtrack is simply amazing, several tracks stay in my head even years after playing the game the 1st time and now I get nostalgia every time I boot up the game and hear the adventure recap music😊

Danganronpa v3: I dropped this for 2 months after finishing the second trial and have now beat the 3rd, this game goes places and mmmmmmm the ending of the 3rd trial is crazy. I've gotta say the actual murders compared to 1-2 have been more refined and always have me guessing the entire way through the trial only to subvert my expectations on "who dunnit". Can't wait to continue progressing through to the climax of this game, honestly Danganronpa trilogy has the best story out of any game period IMO, hope we get another sequel one day.

Rogue Legacy 2:If anyone reading this like roguelites, you have to get this game whether its on PC, Xbox or you wait for the playstation or switch version. This is the best action Roguelite since Hades, if you like castlevania or games focused on platforming you need this game.

Thanks for reading and have a happy weekend😁😁😁

Re: Final Fantasy 7 News Planned for Game's 25th Anniversary Next Month

GorosBat

@dancingstar93 12 is the worst one I beat IMO, played the remastered version and used the 4x speed option to grind, I literally beat that game from auto battling the entire game. I think I stopped the game once to heal in the Final boss of the game, I don't know if I played the game wrong but the fact that grinding out the game and having my party set to use basic attacks and heals at 50% got me through the entire game kinda leaves me scratching my head saying "what went wrong"? Story is also a blatant rip off of Star Wars which made me laugh and the only good character in the party to me was Balthier lol.

Hope you enjoy 13 as it was what popped my cherry for FF series and the story isn't convoluted like what the VAST majority of series fans think. A lot of the criticism is how corridor heavy it is, which is dumb considering most of the series is exactly the same, worst offender is 10, haven't beat that one yet but got through almost to the end and all I remember is that entire game was a single corridor, at least 13 has branching paths and opens up at a certain point into a semi-open world environment. Gran pulse is when the game gets really good as well. Last point, 13 still looks amazing, I still gush over the graphics to this day! Love this game, I finally beat it 2 years ago restarting the game and beat it in around 35 hours in 3 sittings, what an underrated gem of a game😊

Re: Final Fantasy 7 News Planned for Game's 25th Anniversary Next Month

GorosBat

I don't see SE showing part 2 till 16 has been released, both will be blockbusters so I'd rather just go one at a time. Still need to play through my severe FF backlog. I've only beat 12, 13, 15 (no dlc) and World of FF for some reason... So they can take their sweet time as I'd rather play in sequential order now, I've been waiting for pixel remasters to hit PS but will probs cave in and just buy them on steam, so I won't even touch the remakes for another 5 years after I beat 1-16 (no MMOs) in order 😂
