Re: Sony Must Share Details of Exclusivity Deals with Microsoft in FTC's Court Hearing

GorosBat

I just want to know how long this Final Fantasy deal is going to last, but tbh I wish we’d find out how long any exclusive deal lasts for like for shin megami tenses 5. I’d rather play on my platform of choice instead of wondering if it will even come to the platform at all, where I could be missing out on playing a game entirely if I’m stuck waiting for a game to ps5. Look at something like Dragon quest treasures or Live a Live, there’s no reason they can’t be on PlayStation but we have literally no idea if they will be ported to other systems at all. I really don’t want to be forced to play these game on a severely outdated platform, struggling to run some of these game at even 30 fps.

Re: Lies of P Getting Physical Release in North America, Europe on PS5

GorosBat

@KundaliniRising333 In some places physical is literally cheaper than digital which makes no sense at all! For example in Australia you can preorder Final Fantasy 16 digitally for AUD $115, or I can get it on Amazon for $85, there’s literally no reason for me to ever go digital unless a game is digital only and I’d imagine that’s the case for many people including other reasons such as terrible internet and potential resell value. I originally wanted to go digital only this gen because I’m used to it on pc, but the way prices are here down under I’m getting a free game every 4 full price purchases compared to digital. It’s also awesome looking at my collection on my shelf and enjoying the cover art like my recent pick up of Octopath Traveller 2, the cover artwork is fantastic!

Re: Poll: Help Us Rank the Yakuza / Like a Dragon Games

GorosBat

@BeerIsAwesome Yeah, there’s just something so humble about this game, probably the fact that Kiryu is running the orphanage and he gets to know all the kids and just helps out the town in general. They could almost get away with taking all the actual Yakuza stuff out and just about the orphanage and it would still be a good game.

Re: Poll: Help Us Rank the Yakuza / Like a Dragon Games

GorosBat

@BeerIsAwesome I agree with your statement, as an example for me is Yakuza 3. Considered to be one of the worse games and after playing through on hard mode I thought it should be renamed Blockuza, but the story was so humble and the Osaka location was such a chill place to run around, also one of the first games that made me cry. Objectively the game isn’t great on its own merits but if you’ve played 0-Kiwami 2 pre-hand the story hits especially hard and makes the game special.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Is Getting Trounced by PS5, Microsoft Weirdly Reveals

GorosBat

All this tells me is Microsoft needs to start pumping out 2-4 huge games EVERY year starting in 2023, or this is a complete lost cause. I prefer PlayStation but can see that it needs healthy competition with Microsoft. After year 1 I thought this generation would be close but after the supply issues getting resolved sony has completely blown Microsoft out of the water. For the sake of gaming Microsoft needs to get their act together as a future with Sony by themselves is kinda bleak, I don’t want Sony to get ahead of themselves and end up making terrible anti-consumer moves in the future, so they need strong competition to keep them in check. I don’t count Nintendo because it’s Nintendo, they do whatever they want and it seems to work.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 464

GorosBat

@kyleforrester87 I remember it taking me 5 hours the first time but now it’s going to take longer because I need to semi follow a guide for certain missable trophies for the plat, namely for one trophy that requires you to go on a date with Barret at the golden saucer which is supposedly easy to fail.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 464

GorosBat

@kyleforrester87 I just got past the part where Cloud and Aeris escape the Turks in the church, so very early on. I remember getting stuck right after Midgar where I needed to cross some forest on a chocobo and could never seem to actually get one. I was much younger then so I expect this time I’ll quickly understand what to do.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 464

GorosBat

I was going to play more Hogwarts Legacy but I ran into a bug whilst going for collectibles where the game thinks I’m missing 1 field guide for an area even though I’m 100% sure I got it, looked at 2 separate guides, completely following the steps, then I looked it up and it seems that this is happening to other people and will be getting fixed in the games next patch. Supposedly the patch was meant to be out already but got pushed back because of this collectible bug, so I’ll be benching the game until I can continue without worrying about not getting 100% required for the platinum trophy.

So now I’m finally playing OG Final Fantasy 7 which has been on my backlog for a very long time, I remember playing to the end of the Midgar section when I first played it and that was years ago, so this is pretty much a new experience for me minus the one spoiler that everyone and their mother knows about. Turns out it’s pretty easy to avoid spoilers if you don’t use social media😂 My only takeaway so far is the phenomenal music which I’ve actually heard quite a lot of before experiencing the game, the soundtrack truly is inspirational and well known even if you’ve never played the game before. That battle music though🤩

Re: Rumour: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for February 2023 Possibly Leaked Early

GorosBat

If game pass has proven anything to me, I don’t care if games launch day and date with the service, I’m still going to buy the game. I much prefer actual ownership over my library because all subscriptions do to me is try 100s of games and not actually finish anything. When I outright buy a game I’m kind of beholden to the purchase and am wayyy more likely to beat or even platinum the majority of my games. I see all these people on game pass and now ps plus extra stop buying games and let the service dictate what they’re going to play. Great service to save money though 🤷‍♂️

Re: The Witcher 3 PS5 Performance Mode Noticeably Worse After Patch 4.01

GorosBat

I’d be more irritated if not for the fact I’ve been playing another huge game and since this is my second play through I can bench Witcher 3 till future patches iron out the issues. TBH it hasn’t been too bad, my major issue is how the game literally freezes for 3 seconds whenever the game auto saves, which when clearing side quests and any question mark on the map is a frequent occurrence and takes me out of the immersion.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 462

GorosBat

Super hyped for Hogwarts Legacy next week so I’m rewatching the films and am up to the Prisoner of Azkaban! For gaming I’m playing The Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney trilogy, playing Justice for All, whilst not as good as the OG, is still an excellent game. Happy gaming and have a good week😋

Re: Forspoken Put Through Its Paces in Latest Digital Foundry PS5 Tech Test

GorosBat

@Northern_munkey Could you imagine people defying logic and only focusing on a few cases of lighting that any regular player wouldn’t even notice if not for DF and finding literally anything to bag on a game that they haven’t played yet, instead of focusing on the great art design, crazy particle effects and awesome looking parkour?😂

To be honest though, after watching the whole video the game looks more and more enticing to me, although not enough for me to by it at launch because I have other stuff to prioritise right now, but definitely something I’d pick up on sale later this year.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 460

GorosBat

Playing Atelier Ryza and have put in 47 hours so far and am nearing the end, I’m going for the platinum for this so it’s significantly increased my time spent. I have to beat all 99 side quests which in most JRPGs is useless fetch quests which in this game is slightly true, except Ryza is helping out the villagers of her island and there’s several storylines throughout this. Other than that the hardest things to do will be beating all the post game super bosses and getting 100% of alchemy recipes which I’ve been trudging away at the entirety of my play through, I’m at 89% so the end is near.

The other game I’m playing is Sonic Frontiers which is the first Sonic game I’ve ever bought apart from Sonic mania that I benched after a couple hours, but that was years ago so I might give it another try because I think Sonic Frontiers is fantastic so far. I impulse bought the game after is was on sale for half price on Amazon and my favourite YouTube metal music cover artist “Little V Mills” covered the song undefeatable and was such a banger to listen to, so I decided it was time to give it a go.

I’m still in the first zone and all I can say is this is basically Sonic BOTW, the ambient music is so relaxing as you organically run around doing random challenges and the throwback levels sprinkled about have been fun going for the objectives.

Supposedly level 1-2 is the hardest level for the S rating in time and I got it after 30 minutes of frustration, but was exhilarating to finally beat it but once I got out of it I ran around the open world and was about to fall to my death so I reloaded my auto save to avoid losing all of my coins. Plot twist, the save took me back to before I beat the time trial so I had to beat the speed run a second time. Apart from that small headache the games been very fun and I think the graphics are great minus the outrageous pop in where platforms will literally appear in front of Sonic, I’m fine with a bit of jank and find it to be funny.

Thanks for anyone who actually read this overly long response this week, must be one of my longest responses for what you’re playing this week in a while. Happy gaming and have a good week 😋

Re: Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key Delayed into March

GorosBat

I’m fine with the delay because I’m only about halfway through the first one and Octopath Traveller 2 comes out the same day so now I don’t need to choose between the two and will have more time to finish the first two. Kinda have to buy this game at launch because the physical copies of the Atelier series typically don’t have many copies printed in Australia before you can only find them pre owned or on eBay.

Re: Random: Rapper Logic 'Conned' His Way into The Last of Us Part II

GorosBat

You guys need to relax and stop dogpiling on @grimwood for having a different opinion that objectively defies logic, guess I must be part of the problem watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy over 30 times 😂 I jest of course, I know how it feels getting too many replies over a single post and can get frustrating very quickly.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 458

GorosBat

Won't spend much time typing this week as I'm having too much of a blast with the 3 games in my rotation. I will be playing Horizon Forbidden West, The Witcher 3 and Atelier Ryza, all amazing games.

I personally can't see why Forbidden West didn't get more universal praise as it has improved on literally every facet from the first game and is a true sequel in that sense, story vastly improved, gameplay is better with more upgrades and variety with armors giving alloy skill boosts which has incentivised me to get every armour I find, especially with the transmog system. Need I say more, but I will!

There's a shocking amount of content, I've spent about 25 hours so far and I only have about 20% completion and unlike the first game which I was pretty mid on, I actually want to complete and see everything in this game, it also helps that this is the most beautiful game to have come out to date and it's more impressive considering that it's an open world and cross gen game at the same time. I haven't taken so many screenshots in any game in my life, but every single location and new set of armour I come across I must capture that moment!

Finally the quest quality and dialogue have been greatly improved, only gripe is I wish Aloy was more lighthearted in general, whilst understandable with her situation being trying to save the world and constantly people trying to kill her, she can come off as a bit bland in contrast to basically every other character in this game, even my favorite character Sylens has more humor than Aloy.

Thanks for reading and happy gaming 😋

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - New Year 2023 Edition

GorosBat

After a full year of gaming without a ps5 because my old one broke at the end of 2021 I finally budged and bought my replacement as it was as simple as just ordering one on Amazon Australia and I got it 2 days later.

So I've missed out on quite a few games this year including Horizon Forbidden West which was what I picked up along side the ps5, ironic that it's cheaper to buy the console and the game separately over the bundle that only gives you a download code. I've played only up to the beginning of the first area and all I've been saying out loud repeatedly is DAT LOOK GOOD, like I knew the game looked good, but seeing it on a 4k screen with HDR is ridiculous, this is hands down the best looking game of the year and IMO better looking than Demon's Souls remake. I also forgot how impactful the adaptive triggers can be on my gaming experience compared to basic rumble when gaming on PC.

I'm also playing the Witcher 3 ps5 version which looks as good as my PC version with the big plus of my eardrums not getting destroyed because my PC fans are literally running at 2000 + RPM, which is one of the reasons why I craved getting a ps5 since I knew that issue doesn't even remotely exist on console. Also, cross progression is awesome, this is the first time I used it and it was seamless transitioning my 20 hour save over to ps5, I only wish achievements carried over, although I heard even if I transfer my ps4 save over the trophies won't auto pop. I'm not looking forward to getting 50 head shot kills with the crossbow on my death march playthrough.

I tried going to the notorious bandit camp where you cheese the enemies to not attack you but CDPR must've patched this out because the gate that leads to the camp closes on you if you walk in and can't be opened unless you finish the combat encounter. I missed a couple trophies because of the save transfer so I guess I can get this trophy on NG + and pump the difficulty down to very easy.

Finally I bought Atelier Ryza, quite literally the definition of cozy low stakes JRPG. It's a refreshing change of pace, just kick back go do some gathering, fight some enemies and craft items, if there were a JRPG world I'd wanna live in apert from Pokemon it would be the Atelier series.

Thanks for reading and have a happy new year, although it already is the new year for me, 2023 is absolutely stacked and could be the best year in gaming in over a decade, you got Sony 1st party and Square Enix's Final Fantasy, Xbox's Starfield and Nintendo's Legend of Zelda, something for everyone, it's impossible not to be excited. Happy gaming 😋
