Re: Trails from Zero PS4 Update Teased

@Ralizah Sounds like an absolute clusterf### and would need better management. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's like this for the Ys games as well. Maybe xseed and falcom need to do a merger so they can get these games sooner, I can only imagine how well these games would do if we got some collections of the older games on playstation and switch, I have the Ys games on PC but the option would always be nice.

As nice as this is, I still can't get into this series till the Sky trilogy is ported to ps4/5 and switch, hopefully that isn't too far in the distance or I will be forced to get the series on pc 😒

Playing Witcher 3 update and started a brand new game on death march difficulty, the way the game is meant to be played. This is my second play through and I plan to go for a tank build utilising potions and go for the good ending of Ciri becoming a Witcher unlike the first time getting the worst possible ending because I decided to be supportive towards Ciri (ngl pretty ironic). Happy gaming and have a happy new year😋

Re: Preview: Forspoken PS5 Feels Like a More Magical inFAMOUS

I watched Maximilian Dood play the demo and from what I’ve gathered is the combat and traversal seems pretty fun, the dialogue is kinda cringeworthy, which I think if the developers made the game self aware of that it could actually be funny. Graphics aren’t as impressive as the early trailers as I’d take the performance for sweet 60fps over higher fidelity every day. Anyways, it looks like something Is pick up down the line on the cheap as it gives video game junk food vibes and the PREMIUM price makes that choice even easier, plus One Piece Odyssey comes out next month so that’s 100% getting my berries.

Re: Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remasters Rated for PS4

GorosBat

@belmont Well I have 11 mainline FF games to get through before I revisit 13 again, it was my first FF game I ever played when I got my Xbox 360 in 2010 and I finally beat it in 2019 on a new play through in literally 3 12 hour sittings, the game was pure bliss for me.

A collection would hopefully get people to give this game another shot that it rightfully deserves, where in todays gaming climate people are starving for linear single player RPGs compared to when the game first launched and people wanted open world stuff. I heard that FF 13 and lightning returns were serviceable ports but 13-2 is the problem child. But I don’t know, maybe modern PCs have no issue running the game now or maybe it’s stutter compilation issues which I consider game breaking and ruin my enjoyment of a game.

After seeing glowing reviews I picked up and am playing Chained Echoes, an indie JRPG made by a single guy spending the last 7 years of his life making this. The game has extreme chrono cross vibes. I've only played about 2 hours and am enjoying the way how the story has been introducing all of the party members. It basically introduces the cast each before they actually meet up in the game, constantly cutting between what's going on in their adventure and the seg-ways into the next.

Happy gaming and have a good week 😋

After seeing the disappointing reviews for several games this week and having the urge of buying a new game I ended up not getting anything new at all, so I picked up a couple of indie games on my wish list instead. I bought Dodgeball Academia which is self explanatory for what you'll do in the game, but also has RPG elements and side quests, the game has been awesome so far and am thoroughly enjoying it.

Also picked up Valheim because it got a new update and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It's a little slow to start out as a survival game, but I've built up a small house and a perimeter to ward off enemies. The game has a Skyrim leveling system so the more I chop wood the better I get at it which feels rewarding. I finally crafted a bow so I can go hunting deer to forge new armour and further upgrade my tools. The map is just huge and I've only covered about 1% of it so this strangely might become my new addiction.

Happy gaming and have a good week 😋

Re: PlayStation Says Activision Blizzard Simply Must Remain Independent

GorosBat

This is just sad at this point from Sony and is quite frankly embarrassing to watch, the more they backfire the more they will piss off microsoft and there will be repercussions. I'm saying this now, if the Actiblizzard deal doesn't go through mircrosoft will be coming for sony and make it personal and if sony isn't already about to acquire a certain publisher that makes Final Fantasy microsoft will be getting the cheque books out for a new acquisition just in spite of sony.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 453

I just beat Star Ocean The Divine Force today, solid game but drags on a little too long where you get to a point that you think the game is about to end but then springs a surprise final dungeon on you that takes 2 hours to beat, thank god the characters and voice acting pulls this game along, nothing special about the game but is a solid pick-up for any JRPG enjoyer. But my Gawwwwdddd, this game is simply the worst optimised game I've ever played on PC, I'd suggest getting it on ps5 or series X if you're looking at picking this up at some point, I highly recommend this if you see it on sale for 50% off.

Apart from that I will dabble in my rotation games of Slay the Spire, Vampire Survivors and playing through the Halo series. I beat Halo Reach again and have moved onto Halo Combat Evolved anniversary on heroic difficulty, the checkpoints aren't generous!

I'm finally tossing up whether which game to continue with, I could finish off Little Nightmares in a night or continue my Dragon's Dogma playthrough or I can play some Monster Hunter Rise to get ready for title update 3 because I need to get to Master Rank 120 to unlock the new monsters.

Happy gaming and have a good week 😋

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 452

Getting extremely close to the ending of Star Ocean 6, it's seriously been the surprise hit of the year for me, combat is super fun, story is serviceable and most importantly the characters are all likeable, which effectively decides how much I enjoy a JRPG.

I randomly started Middle Earth Shadow of War this week for whatever reason as I felt like playing a game I can watch youtube and twitch on in the background. It's actually a pretty large step up over Shadow of mordor in both mechanics and scope of the game and the art design through the various environments really breaks up the feel of each of the zones. Shadow of Mordor had two large areas but this one has at least 5 from my 20 hours of play so far. I'm enjoying the game enough that I will go for the full 100% achievements with the DLC included.

Lastly, playing Little Nightmares as I dip my toes into the horror genre. It's a short game but from what I've played so far it feels a lot like Limbo and Inside, which is a good thing!

Happy gaming and have a good week😋

Re: PSVR2 Launches 22nd February 2023, Costs $550

GorosBat

I can’t believe what I’m seeing in the early comments, people actually somehow justifying the abysmal price of this thing. If this was standalone sure fine, that’s not bad. But it literally costs more than the ps5 and you need that in order to play with ps vr 2. What an absolute disgrace this is, I don’t even want to think how much this will cost in Australia.

Re: Star Ocean: The Divine Force (PS5) - Space Age JRPG Barely Takes Flight

GorosBat

I've played this game for about 10 hours so far, 3 hours messing with settings to get it playable because PC launch was horrible, this game is just terribly optimised. But, once I got rid of all the stutters this game is just so much fun to play. Raymond and the entire cast so far (6 characters for me) have all been likeable, combat is exhilarating and fast paced with the DUMA system and is nice that there's absolutely no transition in and out of combat. Movement is AMAZING, the sprint is super fast and you can cover so much ground with DUMA, this is actually the best feeling JRPG movement I've ever experienced now that I think about it, the closest game I could compare it to is Nier Automata but instead Raymond is on crack!

This review also forgot to mention the mini-figure card game that is so addictive. The objective is to place your units on a checker type board to reduce the opponents life to zero, with several minion types and an added layer of strategy because if you corner off the opponents minions with yours, you destroy them, vastly improving your odds to win the game. Not to mention, there is added incentive to do these battles because each opponent you beat gives you a new figure that you can use to further strengthen your deck AND use as super strong accessories for your party in actual fights.

I don't know what game this reviewer is playing, but it seems like I'm playing a completely different game, I'd give it a solid 8/10 and can say that I'm enjoying it far more than last years Tales of Arise. If the game is looking good to anyone reading this, I implore you to try out this game, I could see it becoming a hidden gem in years to come!

Potionomics: This game is quite literally the Dark Souls of potion maker/ time manager/ dating sims! The graphics are gorgeous and the animations in this game are the real standout. The game came out on steam on Monday and I’ve already poured 35 hours into it, this game is just so addictive. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s always wanted to become a merchant in a video game, did I also mention that when you barter for selling your potions for a higher price that you play a card based game where you gain new cards through strengthening your bonds with other characters, this game has everything!

GorosBat

@Jaz007 I’m just joking with you mate, you can still love something regardless of its flaws, nothing is perfect, it’s just staggering that the anime is over 1000 episodes now and it’s kinda refreshing to have a popular anime that doesn’t take itself too seriously. One of the major flaws of the show is that it takes forever for anything significant to happen until we get an entire law dump in a single episode, but I kinda treat the show as a soap opera.
