Horizon Forbidden West still outsold Elden Ring on the Playstation side of things? So it is multiplat effect after all. I would have bet Elden Ring would have been number 1 on Playstation platforms too.
Dying Light 2 is also on a strong position. Gaming this year is definitely a highlight already. And we are just in the first quarter.
It is a better game than Zero Dawn in almost every way, but it doesn't feel like a game that has been in development for 5 years. Not sure if the PC Port took them too much time or resources or if, the fact that, it is a PS4 game after all. Maybe a bit of both. I really can't tell. I give it an SUPERB which translates to an 8 so far. I haven't finished it yet. I've been roughly 30 hours in it.
I haven't bought it yet but I plan to. I'm too busy with Horizon Forbidden West atm. 20 Hours in and I'm overwhelmed with the massive scale of content.
My initial plan was to play and finish Horizon Forbidden West until Elden Ring comes out. I had no idea how gigantic HFW actually is. Elden Ring has to wait. I go to find a way to get GAIA functional again.
I've been so deep in Horizon Forbidden West, I didn't even think about the fact that Sony has nothing in the pipeline besides GT 7 and God of War Ragnarok and, of course, the Playstation 5 carrier, Insomniac Games's Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.
Everything might be possible at this point. Some announcement from Bluepoint maybe. Team Asobi could showcase some Astro magic. Naughty Dog definitely got some ammo ready to blast.
Third-party like Hogwarts gotta be there. Little Devils Insides release date. FFXVI hopefully.
We really barely know anything from Sony's lineup, do we?!
An easy mode sounds horrible to find fun in this game. The whole gameplay design is around the challenges. If that aspect is gone, you literally walk thru and it becomes 95% a walking sim. I'll bet my ass, people who'll play it on easy mode won't enjoy walking thru. But hey I'm glad, the devs try to increase their sales potential. I want a sequel or something similar.
I have beaten the game. A superb game. It ain't that hard. I'm glad, I'm not on Twitter to see all these crybabies whining about a challenging game. Although, I do agree the second area is the most challenging, which lies within its level design of the shortcut still having The Trial to go through every time. Besides that, the boss is really manageable once you understand that evading his attacks is better than dodging em. At least, that worked for me.
Yessir! May just got more exciting. Been waiting for the release date announcement. Salt and Sanctuary was great. I have high expectations for its sequel.
Nah the list seems nonsense. The heck is Fight for Middle-Earth supposed to be? Tekken 8? Didn't Katsuhiro Harada recently state that Tekken 8 hadn't even been started yet because of the success and its unplanned seasons of Tekken 7? How would this be "internally tracked and tested", if it doesn't exist? Injustice 3 and another Mortal Kombat game around the same time being tested? Nonsense! Titanfall 3? Lol. Ok. Batman Arkham Knight Remastered seems also very unlikely. WBs schedule is already stuffed with bunch of upcoming games ( Hogwarts Legacy, Suicide Squad, Gotham Knights, Lego Star Wars). I don't think they have any time for a remaster.
I'm intrigued. The open world in AC games got way to big and too time consuming for its own good. I haven't even bothered getting Valhalla because of the excessive duration.
Of course, easily a GotY contender. From the combat to the bosses to the world building and upgrade system, I'm amazed. What a nice surprise of game this is. Really thought, it'd be a short melee game with an interesting story, but damn it's so much more sophisticated than that. I can see Sloclap being part of Sony's WW studios.
I got the Deluxe Edition for that. I was wondering two days ago why the preload doesn't start. Now I know. Sonys usual incompetence with its network components.
I took the PS Plus discount on Deathloop and I'll take advantage for Ghost Wire Tokyo too. I really think Sony should do this way more of the and especially with their own first party games. They offered the PS Plus pre-order discount also for Hitman 3 and few other games like Sifu.
@BoldAndBrash Same here. I'd never understood why to care for these executives until Jim Ryan getting on top of Playstation and changing the things that made Playstation well Playstation. I really don't think any Petition can change the course of the executive position though. It gotta hurt at their bank account. That's the only language they speak. Give it a couple of years. They might lose or at least stagnate financially.
Yes, I payed for the upgrades. Can't wait to play em, but first, I'ma finish Lost in Random then back to the adventures of Nathan Drake the Great and Cloe Frazer.
@Reeneman Because I simply want that. Certain games are perfect for it. Mostly games like Dead Cells and such where I just go thru runs but also wanna watch some YT or something on Netflix while I get me some runs.
@Bentleyma I know that trick. Thanks though. But I still would want one not pinned next to it but rather a small window over on the screen at the corner.
@nessisonett I don't know how you come up with "better", it's clearly different. That's all I said. It's rather silly to imply that different means better. Looking through Steam top 100, there's a concrete differentiation of games being played. Nothing wrong with that, at all. And funny that you mentioned FIFA being a main console game when even FIFA on Steam had more players than God of War. I guess, there are some overlapping incidents after all.
That sounds shockingly low tbh. That was the peak? So much buzz and high praise. I really don't think it'll get higher than that unless the game gets its first sale. But seeing the other games being much more played, one can tell there's a hugh difference between console gamers and PC gamers. I hoped for more to be frank. That's my favorite game right there. Regardless, I can't wait for God of War Ragnarok.
So Playstation 5 has sold 1 million last year in August and Xbox Series consoles overall reached a million just right after Christmas? They are damn close then! I mean UK was always a well balanced market but that's almost even. Well done Xbox.
No matter who is behind Twisted Metal. It's gonna flop hard. These kind of games aren't requested besides by a very loud minority on the internet. Just take a look at Destruction AllStars which is the same game, more or less. Plus Destruction AllStars was on PS Plus and still nobody cared. The Nostalgia factor won't help whatsoever. Just wait and watch.
That's a lot of hours. That what turnt me off about AC Valhalla. And I still haven't bought it because of it.
Btw have they meanwhile shown console footage? The games out soon, isn't it? It's about time to showcase some console gameplay, instead flexing with length of the game.
In retrospective, it was a really good year. Highlights to me were Shadow of the Tomb Raider Control Ultimate Edition Final Fantasy 7 Remake Battlefield V A Plaque Tale Innocence Hitman 2 Mortal Shell
Let's hope this year will be at least as good as last year.
I don't think Sony ever been able to support more than one platform. And as PSVR needs its own games, it'll distract Sony to a certain degree of supporting Playstation 5.
I can't wait. I haven't played The Last of Us for a while but after that masterpiece that The Last of Us Part 2 was, with the untouchable combat, audio design, animations, AI and general gameplay, I really wish to see The Last of Us to have all that. I hope it's true. Even though I still want to see something completely new from Naughty Dog. Day one, no doubt.
Days Gone was a B-Tier title thru and thru. Bend Studio promised so much but delivered next to nothing upon their promises. No camp system, no "carma" system, no multiple choices and so on and so on. The characters were one dimensional as it can get. And story was solid but the pacing was abysmal. They dragged it at any possibility. The combat was generic and unpolished. Every shooter that needs a slowdown mechanism to actually be efficient to shoot, is simply bad the shooting mechanics itself.
U criticized Sony alot for green-lighting certain games and Red-lighting others, but red-lighting a sequel to Days Gone 2 is probably the best decision they have ever made. Bend Studio is the big blemish at Sony first party big studios. They literally have never done a game that I liked. Sony should reconstruct Bend Studio too in my opinion. They just don't function as the rest of the big ones do.
Multiple game project you say huh? Sounds promising. I hope for a new IP like a Fantasy game or a Sci Fi game or an Agent game. You know what, I would take any game by Naughty Dog.
I'm still waiting for an acquisition of a fighting game studio because of Sonys direction into E-Sports. They have Polyphony taking care of the Racing side of things, Guerrilla Games might develop a FPS for that but one big fighting game, made by Sony is, missing.
8 million copies in 18 months?! That's a giant now. Could it be Sucker Punch's best selling game ever? Hugh congratulations to Sucker Punch Productions and Sony. Easily one of the best games last generation. I'm stoked for whatever their next project is.
@Jarobusa I played around 24 hours of the game and platinumed it by then. But I'm pretty sure it's doable faster. I really took my time with it. The biggest challenge for the platinum was the Combo Training with Master Wu. But also that is really manageable.
Yoooo I didn't know Ken Levine is working on Bioshock 4!! I thought someone else was. Even though "reportedly" the game is in development hell, I'm really pumped now about it as this is how I found out Ken himself is working on it. Hope it'll turn out according to Ken's vision.

That's a good idea for a poll. I'm not sure if you guys have done polls about the communitys review score before but I like it.
Nice job.
