Re: Poll: As God of War Turns Four, What Would You Rate It Today?

JJ2

I don’t give bs scores.
It’s great but Sony had other games just as great or even better. I still think the plot was lacking and uninspired. (And thinking of all the crap Days Gone got about supposedly ‘cheesy’ dialogue 🙄) After the intro you already knew everything about it and what the final boss and final goal was already set with no real surprise except for some gameplay elements. Gameplay was awesome.

Re: Sony Experimenting with Ads in Free-to-Play PS5, PS4 Games

JJ2

Some day that practice will leak into subscription rental ‘service’. Maybe when more and more people give up on owning a retail disc and rely on the internet servers 100% and the publishers with hold them by the b.
The future of gaming people.
Or maybe don’t go that route. Just an idea

Re: Poll: What's Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year So Far?

JJ2

@AdamNovice
I mean people saying silly things doesn’t mean much. I don’t think ER is ‘revolutionary’ but it’s doing what FromSoft always does but in an open world setting (with legacy dungeons too).
I actually thought From soft doing open world is great even before any reviews or pre views. That’s because the way they are obscure like you said yourself and also rewards exploration like they always have in previous games.
The only ‘revolution’ is now more people pay attention to what they do and it’s more apparent because of the open world formula.
I’m sure you go back to it and ‘discover’ many things still because the games are obscure by nature.
Now people like it or not is all what it’s about. There s no truth as in what is ‘best game’ but only individual perspectives as always.
I still think it’s a new bar for open world because now it’s establish in that genre.

Edit
The fact that the player isn’t as restricted as much as in other ‘open world’ to games to explore and the sense of adventure going into the unknown seems unmatched to me.

@rjejr
Oh hi there. I was off for Easter break and first notification I see when back on Push is yours and that’s cool. I’m glad your enjoying it so much. I love the game.
I think summons (all of them) are the way it’s meant to be experienced. Radahn part is quite the comedy with them as it’s intended to be.
I first didn’t get the point of using mimic tear because I’m not too interested in having two of me but then I learned to use it by custom reworking my set up (talismans skills weapons equipped items etc) summon it and then go back to my personal. It’s cool to custom it the way you want.
Summons are great addition to a more strategy oriented Play style. Much diversity to play with.
👍🏻

Re: Sony Invests a Further $1 Billion into Fortnite Maker Epic Games

JJ2

No surprise. They keep investing in promising stuff. Nothing to do with PlayStation funds.
Haters will hate whatever they do. 🙄

I remember when haters said Tim Sweeney was saying good things about the PS5 because Sony invested in them a few millions. They even called him and Lisa Su liars Haha
🙃

@Rural-Bandit
I’m actually happy if Ms acquire Activision. I hope they do. I said it many times. It’s a freaking obscene waste of money and this uncreative practice isn’t good for gaming in general in my opinion. (I also said the press should have been more vocal about it) But I’m happy they doing this for that publisher I don’t give a damn instead of other good studios. 👍🏻
So we both happy haha
🤷🏼‍♂️

Re: Max Payne 1 and 2 Remakes Coming to PS5

JJ2

@Rural-Bandit
Oh I saw that a while ago. He’s just saying there’s news to come and they have PSNOW. I don’t know what your trying to say here. There’s nothing in that answer.

The simple facts is PSNOW already existed long before GP. By that logic GP would be the answer to PSNOW then? No

Anyway if that makes you feel like it whatever.
Personally I would like the base service to improve and I’m hoping it does consider it’s all about PS+ now adding value to the higher tiers.
I don’t want base sub to collapse like it did on Xbox.
Point is they are different and we already know first party won’t be day one so it’s proven as a matter of fact that it’s not an ‘answer’ to GP but a logical evolution.

Edit
You should be aware that Sony never answer to a direct question about the competition.
The press often makes that mistake too.

Re: Max Payne 1 and 2 Remakes Coming to PS5

JJ2

@Rural-Bandit
Hi.
‘Sony see’s enough value in GP to rework PS+ ‘
No that was the whole point of my reply to you.
What Sony is doing has nothing to do with GP. Is NOT an ‘answer’ to it.
Differences and options are indeed great. Platform being different with different services is great. Grow the differences don’t try make everything the same.
PSNOW existed long before. It’s just an evolution of it which everyone agree was needed but unrelated to GP

Re: Max Payne 1 and 2 Remakes Coming to PS5

JJ2

@Rural-Bandit nah you got it wrong. There s no ‘answer to GP’ and there doesn’t need to.
Base service is still the cheapest. Not everyone wants to rent games in online only subscriptions.

Re: Max Payne 1 and 2 Remakes Coming to PS5

JJ2

@Gh05tm4ch1n3
Nah there’s nothing in the article misleading people to think it’s exclusive to PlayStation.
I only agree that it should give more details. I had to check the source to make sure it’s for new gen and PC only and not for last gen.
It’s clear that it’s better to give more facts than not enough though.
👍🏻

Re: PSVR2 Games, Haven Studio All Using Unreal Engine 5

JJ2

I’m no dev but people can say what they want, I like the intent they demonstrated again and again and led the way for high expectation in the new gen 👍🏻

People (including Twitter journalist Celebs) were downplaying it in 2020, (AND) others downplaying it now is weird to me.

Re: All the Big Names Will Be on Revamped PS Plus, You'll Just Have to Imagine Which

JJ2

@Jacko11
I can imagine in a couple weeks time Push publishing an article ‘Did Jim Ryan lie?’
And of course implying people should be angry of some kind of deception.

While he’s not saying much tbh. It’s the press who’s hyping it and pushing people to sub to PSNOW before it becomes the new service.

I’ll just paste here my comment from the article about ‘Sony not showing off the new sub enough’ article.

👉🏻
It isn’t Sony who made a fuss about it for days before and created big unrealistic expectations.
For most people who only have basic PS+ like me there’s no change at all after all.
Seriously the press has actually been making such a fuss about ‘counter game-pass’ for a good while now with regular articles now and then. Then they get shocked when it’s not the ‘TADA’ moment they literally made up in their own mind.
Worse they won’t admit it’s not the ‘counter gamepass’ they made up. They won’t admit they were wrong. They still pretend it s supposed to be that but they point out the ‘counter gamepass’ thingy that is not should be more presented the way they speculated it would be.

@Shepherd_Tallon
Yes I’m not completely sure what you meant but talking metaphors I like mcDonalds and I don’t like BurgerKing. It’s always feels strange to me when someone brags about eating at both every day and being a real fast food lover looking down on people who only like McDonalds and have a small belly.

Having a laugh here haha

Re: Reaction: Sony's Biggest Problem Is Consumer Relations

JJ2

@get2sammyb
Good morning.
Just taking your PS4’s success point about Sony supposedly having different approach. I’d argue it’s more the press approach that changed. I don’t remember Sony making much fuss about explaining stuff.
Example
Used games and DRM
Shu made only one statement in March 2013 confirming used games with no restriction on PS4. Then Sony only waited E3 to respond to uninformed concerned in a blow to Xbox.
(It was even to the point still now people ridiculously believe Sony planned the same and changed ‘at the last minute’ at E3 when they saw the bad reception Xbox got)

Back today
Hardly any word from the press on Xbox still anti consumer DRM with no new gen game on the discs at all but only downloadable version. No word supporting PS5 disc playable without internet on PlayStation.
Instead promoting the always online subscription model.

Who changed really?

Re: Reaction: Sony's Biggest Problem Is Consumer Relations

JJ2

@Shepherd_Tallon
Exactly. It isn’t Sony who made a fuss about it for days before and created big unrealistic expectations.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Biggest Problem Is Consumer Relations

@TommyNL

Cerny :
‘ Results are excellent though we recently took a look at the top hundred PlayStation 4 titles…’

Eurogamer published a full article that was still up months later (removed now) describing how BC was handled the same way as it was on Xbox 1 with 100 titles at launch and progressively more added as time goes by etc

Baffling stuff and only one example.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Biggest Problem Is Consumer Relations

JJ2

That makes me think of Road to PS5. Amazing speech from Cerny. Absolutely mind blowing stuff.
Reaction were bad and the presentation criticised and completely misreported in the press even DF Eurogamer completely got it wrong and spread false information. Cerny used plain English.
The press and a lot of the public wanted a show of BS. Sad reality

Re: Reaction: Sony's Biggest Problem Is Consumer Relations

JJ2

There’s no ‘issue’.
The only issue is we live now in a world where people want populist like leaders who tell them what they think they want to hear and go superficially virtue signalling (or blaming accusing distraction) That’s exactly what the press also wants for easy clickbait articles everyday.
Facts and reality written plainly doesn’t matter much unfortunately.
It’s all about being a good show 🙄

Re: Reaction: PS Plus, PS Now's Makeover a Necessary and Positive Step for Sony

JJ2

Like I said about the rumours. It was much ado about nothing. Just a normal expected evolution of what’s already there.
Nothing to do with gamepass and not some sort of counter to it. PS services existed before gamepass. If anything it was the other way round. It’s just the reporting on gamepass has more promoting coverage for whatever reason. That’s just facts.
