I just got the plat on trek to yomi. Great little game, really enjoyed it. Now its time for Diablo IV. Something tells me this will be my answer for many months to come! Got that "sure i have work tomorrow, but i could play a few more hours" thing going at the moment. Havnt had that with a game in some time.

I would buy an xbox if the activision deals goes through, just to play diablo V.

Love the series.

Game was fantastic. The dodge took some getting used to but the clear love letter to bloodborne was great, loved the weapon building mechanic and the tone and asthetic of the game has me interested. Cant wait to dive it. The demo was all i needed to know i will get this game, so wont be watching the above video.

I am continueing with hogwarts legacy. I struggled with it on my first attempt but enjoying rhe second playthrough. Decided to learn the unforgivable curses but feel bad everytime i use them. Especially after sebastians uncle's rant about them. Looking forward to finishing so i can move onto either jedi survivor or finally trying to get into elden ring.

Having finally completed my no hit run of titles for Wo Long, i moved back to Hogwarts Legacy. Could not get into it the first time round. Enjoying it much more this time. Perhaps its the contrast to Wo Long, in that, this feels like a relaxing game in comparison.

Having said that, a new sub battlefield was released with patch 1.08 and im tempted to fire it up and give it a go!

This is a shame, i am a massive lover of the original game, and bought the remake. But digital only has moved this from a day 1 purchase to a, maybe one day. Ill wait for a sale or release on plus. Im not sinking 60 quid on a digital game. Never have, never will. Plenty of other games, plenty of other hobbies to sort me until then.

@KaijuKaiser I hadnt thought of that! Damn. Although for me, the DLC will give some time to allow for any patch fixes which are pretty common these days!

Im still playing Wo Long. Really enjoying it. Got the platinum, finished ng+ now im going for the no hit boss titles. Only got the final 2 bosses left. Cant wait for the dlc next month!

I am genuinely shocked at the complete lack of complaint at the idea of a remake of an 8 year old game, when a remake of a 10 year old game in TLou was slammed as a cash grab. Especially by 1 or 2 people on here that were very vocal about TLou remake themselves.

The game doesnt need a remake. Remaster sure, or at least a 60fps patch, i played it last year and had no issue with it at all.

Im having an absolute blast with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Just beat the final boss, so wrapping up side missions and trophies for the platinum, then may genuinely play it through again on the harder setti g as its bloody brilliant. Havnt played any of the Nioh's so may hit them up after.

Genuinely really liked this guy. Great actor with a fantastic voice. This one hit harder than i thought it would! RIP!

I got Hogwarts legacy, played it for about 8 hours, and for some reason dont feel any draw to go back to it. So im back to playing MW2 multiplayer collecting gum camos. Im sure i will go back to HL, just wasnt as fun as i was hoping.

The one and only Hogwarts Legacy for me. Played it until 2am last night and had to peel myself away from the controller and force myself to bed! What a game!

Literally installing as we speak. Put my daughters to bed at 7:30...they cant actually tell the time yet, so its 7:30 now right?

Then i am going to get my wizard on. Cannot wait!

@Gamer83 i must clarify, i sit in neither of the examples i gave. I was buying the game as i grew up reading and watching potter and this is a game i have wanted since the first movie adaptation game came out. But the website created to single out streamers who play this game was really pathetic. Ive also read about a lot of activists flocking to said streams and subreddits to give spoilers of the game to ruin it for "transphobes" buying the game.

@Gamer83 absolutely this. The smear campaign has almost certainly had the opposite effect than intended. How many people have bought this "to see what the fuss is about", or bought it as a "dont tell me what to do" statement.

I couldnt justify paying extra for 3 days early access but cannot wait to dive in on friday!

Was holding fire for reviews. Now they are in i have just pre ordered the game. 51 quid from shopto. Cannot complain. Looking forward to jumping into hogwarts and getting my wizard on.

As with the last of us, i simply refuse to pay full price for a remake. Will grab this when it comes down in price.

Yeh i was really aprehensive about the change at first but it works really well. I very much like the way in which they are all connected as well.

The make up and set design is a step above as well. I hope resident evil takes note. You dont have to change everything to adapt to tv!

I didnt get the game until the ps5 release. Cant speak for the early issues. But enjoyed the game enough to platinum it.

I will grab the DLC on sale though. Cant say that CDPR deliver lacklustre DLC though

Im holding out on a good SP game until i decide if i should get forspoken or dead space. I would get murderous looks from the wife if i buy both, happy wife happy life and all that.

So i am playing MW 2 which i am finding surprisingly good. Even enjoying the multiplayer. However i need to do the spec op trophies to get the platinum and im a bit of an introvert and find i am a little panicky about having to speak to a stranger on the internet to play them, wish you could do it couch co-op.

Having got the platinum trophy for A Plagues Tale: Requiem, i am now playing through the campaign on COD MW2. I must say the MW story lines always satisfied me more than the Blops ones. Love me some Price and Ghost. But the UI for this game is utter trash. Took me forever to figure out just how to find the solo campaign area.

If i didnt have one, or if my current one broke i would certainly buy it, but i woukdnt go out and get one to replace my disc model just because.

Ive wanted to play DMC5 for a while (although the trophy requirements are pjtting me off) and never got round to the LIS games, watched the wife play the first one and have always meant to give it a whirl. Also seeing some of the recommendations for Jett and sayonara will likely do those aswell. Good month for me.

I like the look of this a lot. Not sure its a day 1 purchase though. May wait to see some user review scores before diving in. I spent an hour or so going through and creating a list of games i wanted to play, both future releases and back log and the list is sitting at 53 games and i know i missed some, 30 of which are games already out. So i have time to wait on this.

The small thumbnail for the link to this page looks like bella is holding a lightsaber, that would have been a bizarre crossover!

My concern is that these companies were given early access to the show with the condition of good reviews...i guess not long to find out. Also Olmaz posted a link in another article where they confirm the way the virus is spread has changed and it really has made me nervous.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika yeh thats not me. I have a switch myself. Im in for the games not the brand. As soon as xbox release some good SP games that stoke my interest ill likely grab myself an xbox too. Why lock yourself out of great games to remain brand loyal to a company that just wants your money. 🤷‍♂️

Yeh, like others here, im not giving any of my cash to the ripoff merchants that are Sky. Now TV is crazy expensive in comparison to other streaming services, and lower quality to boot. Then sky locks its service behind a paywall, justifying ita obscene cost behind the need for a top box or a tv (glass) just give us an app already and reduce your prices...bloody pirates

Very very impressive. I would still say the whole FromSoftware collection back to back with no hits is the craziest achievement though

I platinummed The Callisto Protocol last night, will be playing some A Plagues Tale: Requiem next.

Really need to get back to playing Elden ring. Surely it will click with me this time!

@Rob_230 the Ashtray Maze is one of my favourite moments in gaming. The music hits, its quite out of the blue and just has something special!

@Tatarimokke i just got the plat last night. Beware that the trophy is bugged. If you dont play through on maximum security first time the trophy doesnt pop. There is a fix on Reddit but it includes deleting the game, reinstalling offline, and some save manipulation

@Tatarimokke yeh been plugging away. Did you play it through on another difficulty first. As i found knowing where enemy placements are really helps. Plus i only ever use guns as part of the combo. That being said im about to take the lift in chapter 5 which i struggled with in medium security so it may all come unstuck 😅

It was a close battle between dead space and Forspoken for me. Went with dead space as i am mopping up the collectibles and max security trophies on Callisto Protocol and im keen on some more spacey horror.

Got to say i have quite enjoyed Callisto. Its certainly not scary but fun none the less.

I dont know about others but i really struggled to pick 5 from the list available. I dithered for quite some time. Im still not sure the 5 i chose were right for me. Too many fantastic games coming this year. Im gonna be so broke

Eurgh...im in the minority but i wasnt enamoured by FF9 at all. I would much prefer a remake of 8. Or why not remake 1-6 in the style of FF7R. I know they are top down but that could be cool.

As an avid souls fan, this felt like a step back for me. I liked the linear feel to the soulsborne games and ER felt well too big and a tad bloated. However, bringing the soulsborne genre to a wider audience cannot be discredited.
Whilst it wasnt my personal game of the year i can see why so many voted for it so fair play. I will go back and get the platinum one day but for now i have way to many games in my backlog that peak my interest more.

As a massive lover of the original Resi series its a point of shame of mine, that i never played 4. It came out whilst i was in a period of life where i didnt game much.

Ive tried recently to play the original but i found it to be a painful experience. Im looking forward to finally get my hands on it.

Im just hoping they treat it more like resi 2 remake than resi 3 remake. As 3 was missing a lot of main game content.

Having played 6 of the 10 games on this list i cant say i dissagree with the placement of the ones i played.

As a huge lover of souls games, i really did not enjoy Elden Ring. Ive got the platinum for Demon souls, Bloodborne and sekiro, havnt got round to dark souls yet but will eventually, but i could barely find the want to go back to ER. I found the game to be way to big. The moment the game lost me was on discovering the "underworld" i was already having a bit of fatigue and upon discovering so much more area to uncover i just put it to one side. Call me old fashioned but give me the linear feel of the classics over the open world of elden ring. But hey thats just me.

GoW:R though..what a game. A feast for the eyes, mind and soul. Gave me access to a full spectrum of emotions whilst playing. The growth of Kratos was a fantastic arc to uncover, the side quests flesh out back stories for side characters so all felt needed, and the game was just pure fun from start to finish. The only exception to this was the Crater area, i didnt need a new massive area to open up in the late game but still enjoyed getting the plat all the same.

And unlike a lot of people here, i really Enjoyed HFW. Even played through on the hardest setting on NG+ to wrap up the additional trophies just to give me the excuse to keep playing.

All in though, what a great year for gaming, and next year looks even better. Cant wait to get stuck in
