First, I don’t think I’d support the company. Second, I’d rather a game-branded one like a Miles Morales spray-paint spider logo, or a god of war themed one.
Edit: Or a Borderlands Vault symbol would look good.
From what you’re saying, rest mode is only still a problem when using an external drive? I recall previously there were issues with suspended games in rest mode too and especially spider-man. I’ve been powering off my ps5 rather than rest mode to be safe.
FWIW I was comparing persona to Final Fantasy, nothing to do with GoT.
That said, Ghost of Tsushima is a relatively uninspired open world game. Beautiful to the point that screenshots feel like cheating. The combat is tweaked, but it may as well be AC: Japan.
Apples to oranges comparison, but Persona 5 is a much more original series with deeper characters and a plot that tackles more complex issues. It also oozes style. It also has better trivia tests.
@SilentHunter382 sorry, you’re right, I was mixing up 11 and 13.... which means I did play 13 . It was 12 (the zodiac one) I never played. I did try 14 out for an hour but didn’t want a console based MMO.
@ShogunRok Because it was a mediocre game that felt dated when it was released. The new combat system couldn’t save it. Honestly I’d rather play a proper JRPG like persona.
Currently at the start of the FF7 remake and honestly feeling the same way, though that has nostalgia.
As someone who watches movies when they arrive on Netflix, and buys games usually at 50% off, I’m used to everything being out of public consciousness by the time I consume it. While that does mean I can’t discuss with other who are currently experiencing it, it does slot to help bring hype down to reality.
So far I’ve been playing ps4 back compact to clear things up, but my dinosaur brain just hasn’t caught up with the activity card concept. I look through the news one, but generally find myself wanting to just launch the traditional way because its easier.
I’m really interested in the machine learning capability that MS supposedly added to their chip. If either side gets anything close to DLSS its game over.
@ShogunRok Hair fashion aside, please provide any objective reason why DMCV is better than DmC. DmC has better variety of enemies, better level design, better use of colour (DMCV is all grey) and is .... less cringy in the writing.
@Papasears @Uromastryx @smbeats This is one case where Jim Sterling is right. You have to remember that you aren’t the customer, you are the product. The Shareholders are the customers, and releasing the game on time pleases the costomers - shareholders.... and the bugs don’t affect sales or recurrent user spending enough to impact the financials.
@StonyKL The game currently uses dynamic resolution and sticks to 60fps. So with this patch they’re adding the ability to stick to a better resolution but go down to 30fps.
@nessisonett @playstation1995 even more so, just about any game will see “pop in” where you can see objects literally appear/disappear as you take one step forward/back, because it is saving CPU/GPU time on distant objects.
Even on new consoles, you see the same thing. For example you may get ray traced reflections for near objects, but screen-space reflections for distant objects.
I don’t have demon’s souls to test with, but I ran the 120fps mode of Borderlands 3 (ps5 version) and ran around while spinning and shooting - with my ear to the console and sound muted I could definitely hear an increased high pitch sound...but not from across the room or anything.
I think mine may do that, but I literally didn’t notice until I put my ear up to the machine. Maybe now I’ll obsess over it or something, but it seems like a non-issue unless there is a heating problem?
They’ve captured the cyberpunk feeling really well here, I’m just not sure if it’ll be like TW3 where its all talk and travel, or if they’ll be more action. Looks promising though.
The Home Screen music is low key one of the best features. More specifically how changing the game you hover over changes the music. I spend a lot of idle time with days gone selected because the music is nice
@carlos82 Microsoft has said they put some ML into their system, and AMD has said they are working on an equivalent. If all that pans out it could be really cool.
@get2sammyb some of us are nerds and are interested academically.
I mean, honestly, if I remember right MS is banking on more parallelism in processing, and cerny said they chose to go the other route because in practice it is hard to be efficient using more threads.
So I’m less arguing for one or the other but more curious if David or Goliath will win.

Godfall more expensive than Valhalla?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 355
Working on plat for demon’s souls. Also probably start Miles Morales.

Re: Poll: What Is Your PS5 and PS4 Game of the Year 2020?
I’ll laugh IRL if Astro’s playroom wins. I mean, it isn’t bad but not GOTY.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Has a Consistent Crashing Issue on PS5 During Long Play Sessions
Sounds like a memory leak. Hard to track down and fix once they’re in there. Especially code that’s been through crunch.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Launch Day Isn't Going Smoothly for Every PS4 Player
This is why not providing console review code and crazy embargo rules should be a red flag.
Re: PS5 Firmware Update 20.02-02.30.00 Available to Download Now
@God_of_Nowt could you grace us with your insight? Does this patch help out rest mode and the other issues we’ve discussed with the OS?
Thanks in advance, appreciate you taking the time in all the comments

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Patch 1.17 Out Now, Improves Multiplayer, Fixes a Few Bugs
@rachetmarvel I never played 13. I’ve played 1-11, tactics and 15, but not 10-2 and I never quite finished 11 because it was a rental.

I’m still salty that p5r isn’t sold as DLC. last thing I want is to buy a second full copy of basically the same game with a little extra.

I know it isn’t popular, but I really thought this game was sub-par, especially next to the DmC remake def ed which I thought was far superior.

It looks quite last-gen to be honest. Shadows in particular, but other details too. Will wait for ps5 version.
