Of course we have seen the movie before.
It’s the same saga as when will Naughty Dog release their one NEW game per generation for the PS5.
By the way I don’t really care and just having fun, but both Sony and Xbox have definitely not had a vintage generation this time round.
Also I don’t think Nintendo with a vintage generation with the switch 2, compared to the mighty switch 1.

Already we are living in different times to the mighty and best ever PS4 era, which I Totally adored by the way.

I think 2026 will be the best and probably the pinnacle year for Xbox studios and GPU in this current console generation, including games for other platforms as well.
2027 could be good as-well depending on what pans out and any new hardware releases be it Xbox or PlayStation.

However cross generation games will feature even more for Xbox and Sony when they move into next generation.
I can actually see from both Sony and Xbox and third party studios releasing major AAA titles for cross generation next generation for the whole generation.
This current generation was just a cross generation warm up.

Was a great game for me on series x and really enjoyed, the more I played the more I got into it.
I played on series x with GPU.
Looks like Xbox studios is giving PlayStation a lot more love than Sony studios games wise in 2026.

I promise you I’m crazy and got rid of my A95L 65” I sold it for a good price and delivered and set it up for them. I am nice like that 🤣

I don’t regret as my new Sammy is better and brighter, but being honest it is not a fair comparison as the A95L has a 2023 gen 1 QD-OLED panel and the Sammy has a 2025 gen 3 QD-OLED panel and newer tech.
A better comparison would be against the Sony Bravia 8 ii using 2025 tech and gen 3 panel.

My son is a victim with his original PS5.
As you know they patched in VRR on PS5 but only works with HDMI 2:1. His nice TV at Uni is only HDMI 2:0 so he cannot use VRR on it with the PS5.

I know I get angry but Sony tightness just really annoys me.

It’s cool if you only need one or two HDMI 2:1 ports.
It would help if they had used one of the HDMI 2.0 ports for earc. Then that would have at least freed up the other 2:1 port.

As for VRR PS5 has to use HDMI 2:1 port as that’s what Sony did so it won’t work with a 2:0 port unlike the series x that does support VRR in both 2:0 and 2:1.

Does me think that was deliberate on Sonys part so they hope you buy a new Sony TV with HDMI 2:1.
You can bet your life on it they did and it saved a few pence on getting VRR to work on HDMI 2:0 on PS5.

It’s all good though, but lately just seems Sony really think about getting the money and cutting back on things, but charge top money.

They just seem to annoy me and like I said so much I sold my A95L 65” and got a new 2025 Samsung QD-OLED 65”.
Have Samsung caught up with Sonys motion and sharpness, they most definitely have and the dam thing is brighter and helps my old eyes 🤣🤣🤣

PS5 Pro and series x definitely look better and brighter pop on the Sammy, especially the Pro.
GOY looks better and is smooth as butter

You only have to have a PS5 Pro one port gone.
A sound bar two ports gone. As earc is using one of the 2:1 ports, stupid idea.
So where does my series x go? I guess in a HDMI 2.0 port.

Also to add insult the full PS5 VRR with all bells and whistles has to use the 2.1 port on PS5
With series x VRR with LFC works in 2.0.
Sony love sucking it to you.

Or just chuck the Sony TV away and buy a new Samsung like I did.

Rubbish, Samsung and LG have been doing four HDMI 2:1 ports for about 4 years now at least.
It is Sony penny pinching as we all know that.
Please don’t stick up for businesses that love your money and big profits.

Also Sonys new chipset was in their top 2024 and 2025 TVs produced by Media Tek.

Just spill the beans on the PS5 Pro.
Are we getting 60fps that is all that I want to know.
I definitely think if Sony helps it could be done.

But unfortunately it will be money based as next generation rockstar will release an upgrade 60fps version, so they might not bother with the 3.5 million PS5 Pro owners and make more money releasing 60fps on next generation.

Business money sucks.

Please all remember this is Sony a company that charges top price for their top TVs with only 2 HDMI 2:1 ports and one of those is for earc. In 2026.
So if you have a PS5 a sound bar, that is you done if you own another top console or PC and need to take advantage of HDMI 2:1.

And apart from GTA5
We know why we get rinse and repeat COD
and companies trying for a Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft type development game.
I can’t imagine the money those games draw in with extras etc.

Back in the xbox360 when Sony had to fight.
This is not good for gamers with Sony and no competition.
Then again I do class Nintendo as competition, because if there was no Switch 2 then most would buy a PS5.

The one of those games I can bank on is Wolverine and probably maybe GTA 6, depending on bugs etc.

Numbers 3 to 5 are my sit back and definitely see what the reviews say, as you never know what we might get nowadays.

007 needs more polish but has been put back.
RE9 will probably be 50% soppy hiding, I prefer Leon get in and attack.
TR remake seems ok, but far more excited for the new TM game in 2027.

If so the companies paying other studios bills should give them a kick and tell them to sort themselves out.

I went with Ghost of Yotei so glad to see it in second.
Expedition is not my thing.

It’s amazing how some studios just click and work well and get games and stuff out.
And some disappear for years on end, and sometimes with not much to show for it.

Well the gamers have spoken no rush until at least 2028, mainly as this generation really hasn’t got going for various reasons and I must agree.
And if the user base of the PS5 and Pro get bigger then software sales will increase as well.

I’m not sure why they may want to rush into next generation anyway. Sony now make good profit on the PS5 and Pro, so I read, so Sony should enjoy that aswell.

It really is a tough one. Yes in the past and even now exclusives seem a part of wanting to own a particular console.
So we can buy 3 consoles or 2 N and S to play all the games we wish to.

Would just one console that plays all be better, would then the competition be selling software and not hardware.

We would only need to pay for one console then to play N and S all games.

It will be interesting to see where it all goes.
I mean look at the movie and music industry.
Absolutely leagues further forward than the gaming industry and always has been.
One VHS or CD player for all movies and games and that was the 80s and 90s.

They all survived on selling music and movies without worrying about hardware.

Gamers have actually created the console wars and exclusives in some way but definitely have been lead by the company greed.

It’s amazing the sales of the PS5 this year.
In the UK you can still get today all the PS5 range at the reduced prices, not sure how long it’s going on for, including Pro at £560.
Argos and Smyths toys.

Amazing game, would have been great to have had another Christmas level for this year.

Not really thought about a top ten for 2025.
Will go ghost of Yotei at number 1.
Sonic crossworlds for me should be in the top ten.
It’s a fantastic car racer, only little thing the karts still need to feel a bit more connected to the track, it is still slightly off there compared to Mario Kart.

Totally agree and it’s such a shame.
That IS why having all three consoles.
The first two years of PS5 was my most played console using the end of year wrap ups.
Then PS5 went to second in year three.
The last two years including 2025 they are third.
Such a disappointment especially for ND after an amazing PS4 era for ND.
THEY HAVE YET TO RELEASE ONE NEW GAME FOR THE PS5.
The cost of paying out with no return must be so damaging.

And in Europe.
2 million PS5 for November 2025.

On another note for the USA

The US has suffered its worst November since 1995 in terms of hardware sales
Average hardware prices up 11% on last year.

A good few of the top ten are games there, that get totally slated on here and other sites and sometimes by reviewers.

Goes to show how small we are and big the general public are and why companies and publishers etc aim at them for sales.

Sony can do what they like.
I just think as a console the Xbox is no competition, so what’s the point.
However the deal was probably done years ago when Xbox still sold consoles.
But going forward, no need for it from Sony they are top console dog, Switch 2 not included.

No real point to make game console exclusive now that Xbox have given up selling consoles.
It’s a waste of money for Sony to do it now.

Love em or hate em, Sony marketing is so spot on. As Xbox and PC don’t really advertise the whole general public and world will think these are all PS5 only and this is the only console you can play these games on 10/10 for PR yet again.
And to top it off now with Halo, it is just mind blowing to an old gamer that used to be an xboxer more than PS, until the PS4 era started turning me.

Anyway many games to play in that trailer and look forward to.

I got adventurer as I do every year.
Low one this year total hours 96.

Will be interesting to see what switch and Xbox come back with.

But like last year I think PS will be last.
They were top in the first two PS5 release years
And second in year 3. But the big campaign AAA exclusives from Sony dried up a bit since then.

Was terrible blow them cancelling PD, was one I was really looking forward to.
Now I’m just keeping an eye on Fable, hoping that game is not next.

Also if you go back further on this article I posted how good Sony marketing is and how rubbish Xbox marketing is and they are a failure.

Sony declared after the first 2 years of the PS5 they had just started making money on the consoles. That’s was 3 years ago.
They also declared they are now making more profit per console sold than with the PS4.

It’s simple because all those things you have picked are food or electricity, stuff you mainly cannot live without for survival. So they take advantage.

Go look at the electronics market like TVs, air fryers etc where there are about ten different manufacturers including from countries companies like South Korea or China.
They create more competition.

Yes you are right the world is expensive, but to say these 3 console manufacturers don’t take advantage is being blind.

We should all never want any big console supplier to die.
We need the competition more than ever now.
There is only three of them if you included Xbox and it is almost a monopoly and that’s why prices are high.
There is no competition like in the car and TV market as we only have 3 consoles suppliers not 10 plus.

They have us cornered and they know it.

Yes it’s all marketing and sales generation, which Sony are very good at.
Me being old always thinks you can sell it at that cheaper price and still make money then how much are you making on each unit at RRP.

But generally it’s all about getting the product out at Christmas etc and making more in the games and subscriptions later on.
Also if you sell more you saturate the market more with your product.
That is one of the massive failures of Xbox this generation, totally clueless when it comes to the games market, even after doing so much right in the xbox360 era.

Switch 2 says hello to Japan and the USA.
Europe is Sony territory.

But I will take a bet with you the switch 2 will sell more consoles worldwide in its lifetime than the PS5.

Goes to show what happens to console sales when they are at the right price they should be.

Now back to the inflated greedy corporate prices. That goes for all the big 3.

The only way Sony will get the Japanese market back is having something like the switch 2.
Then it will not be first and may not succeed.

It’s great all this turns up, but why oh why are these performances levels not there on day of release.

Yes another reason apart from price to hold off on new games for a good few months.
You pay less and get the best version.

PlayStation rule Europe and the UK and the PS5 Black Friday deals are the best console deals out of all the big three. Actually I think they are the only ones that did real BF deals the other two were terrible.

Sonys marketing is always the best and has been for years.

I had a mum come into my office at work this week and had to take her through the BF deals and what PS5 to buy, disc or no disc or Pro.
She settled on a PS5 disc edition for her son.

I’ve now decided to call big game development human cell replacement.

It’s not an exact science but big game development taking about 6 to 7 years is about the same time the average adult human body has replaced every single cell in the human body.

Also you could have got a least one PHD and become a Doctor in what ever and done many things in your life.

My thinking as individuals in that time we can achieve so much.

But it takes roughly a group of say 300 plus humans 6 years or so to make a big AAA video game. It really doesn’t add up.
