@WhiteRabbit One of the biggest review criticisms of myth has been in between the boss fights, not much to explore or do, you honest opinion so far please.
@WhiteRabbit Sounds good then to me. I have had many TVs LG C3, Samsung S90C But when you set a Sony TV up correctly it is just so silky smooth for all applications. The motion just edges out the competition.
Will be weird for a while if PS5 gets Xbox big AAA type games. But I will get used to it and if they are really good like any other game I shall buy. Will be strange especially on PS5 Pro when the games run better than on an Xbox console.
DOOM looked great so that’s a definite already and same day release across all consoles.
@Bionic-Spencer Totally agree about time Sony started some good PR like in the PS4 days and some big AAA campaign games. One the few reasons they are down 5 million console says compared to the PS4 same time line in Europe.
Shall wait for push square full PS5 review first. Wonder if it’s PS5 Pro enhanced, going by rumour every game has to be in some way after end of July 2024. Or something like that I think.
It’s simple. Just bring on Astro Bot, and get us back to true AAA quality on release from Sony Studios. I so miss their big AAA first party games. Hopefully more to come in 2025.
It’s simple. Just bring on Astro Bot, and get us back to true AAA quality on release from Sony Studios. I so miss their big AAA first party games. Hopefully more to come in 2025.
Just watched the full PC ign review. So it’s a tough game at times, so sort souls like there. Seems to be a good list of bugs in the game overall but reviewer did enjoy the game and gave a 8/10. Why release with bugs included freezing and restarting I will never know. Will be interesting to see how the PS5 does bugs wise and performance wise.
What is also really annoying with big AAA games nowadays. Is when the patches arrive you sometimes end with not just bug fixes, but a new performance 60fps mode and quality of life improvements.
You just end up feeling like you have paid a higher price for pre ordering and a far less quality product.
I used it be such a pre-order bunni. But since around TOTK, HFW I have stopped preordering. Not because of those two games.
nowadays it’s such a lottery especially with big AAA games or supposedly big AAA games.
I just sit back read the reviews and then decide. Sometimes I could order straight after reviews. But it’s more likely wait for patches and then see. Also whilst I’m waiting the price is going down.
Will be interesting the second half of 2024 big AAA games quality is going to be.
And yet another game delay as the usual game delay season starts for the next 3 months. It’s becoming such an annual event I think Geoff should host a show case on it around late October time 🤣
@WhiteRabbit I played about 60 hours on series x. It’s ok a good average game that can draw you in a bit. Very old quality of life systems and to much loading and built on old engine systems, really let it down.
PS5 Pro and Ghost of T 2, announcement and release dates for November 2024 😊
About time one of these shows had something magnificent and amazing to tell. And also 2024 overall to be honest. That’s across all makers and developers by the way.
People forget the big Sony AAA games bring billboards in the London under ground, adverts on tv and the papers. They even get in the BBC news for free.
This all helps the Sony brand recognition and momentum the big Sony console buzz as I call it.
It’s also happens with PlayStation and COD at the normal time of year, but won’t this year.
I moan about Xbox doing great PR but I could honestly say Sony this year with a quiet showcase and no big AAA advertising have been quiet as well.
I definitely don’t get the buzz of the PS4 Sony days Great announcements on stage, uncharted 4, GOW and TLOU 2 to name a few. Even if the games were one to two years away it created that Sony brand momentum and games to look forward to. It was amazing back then.
Well they are about 5 million consoles behind the PS4 in Europe same time line and big exclusives have some part to play in that. There is also higher costs Consoles/gaming losing popularity to other media. Cross generation games.
Don’t forget with the big Sony AAA exclusives comes big advertising around Europe and brand momentum etc. That has been non existent this year so far. So it slips out of people’s minds.
All this rubbish about availability in the early days doesn’t work on me. As there are millions of PS5 slims disc and digital sitting on UK shop shelf’s as I write this, so those that missed out could get one right now.
@LowDefAl Interesting and thank you. Always makes me suspicious when actual numbers are not given. They should give them out, all seems about uptightness and money to me. An industry of intrigue and suspicion to me 🤣
@UltimateOtaku91 It’s like I have a PS5 slim digital but was thinking about getting the disk add on. But I’m thinking hold off and wait for PS5 Pro maybe this year. If this year it will be November 2024. If not then maybe November 2025 for GTA6, who knows.
But just come out and say it either way then I can decide what to do. I don’t mind but just let me/us know.
Sony are being far to secretive about far too much nowadays and they are slowly but surely getting on my nerves. They need to let go a bit make some PS5 Pro yes or no for 2024 and big AAA studio games for 2025 or even 2026 announcements. They making their product unexciting whereas in the past they were full of excitement and energy.
@Grumblevolcano Sort of off subject. I find lately how the film industry have shows and teasers on stage and appearances for films releasing 2025, 2026 and 2027. I actually miss the days when especially Sony used it do this with their top AAA games. The buzz of the live crowd when GOW and uncharted 4 and TLOU 2 got revealed. And even the future dates, that used to lets us know what was coming and something to look forward to, even two years away. Wish Sony would go back to those days it was far more exciting and emotional, even if the game was say 2 years away, now it’s all boring and quiet and hidden.

@Rich33 There is loads of ifs and buts to all this. But if this generation is anything to go by, generations hardly seem generations anymore. I mean look a PS4 Pro and Xbox one x and the cross generation of games and backwards compatibility services. You would hardly have any real advantage of having a this generation console.
It almost seems this generation is a 25% generation and not much else so far.
@UltimateOtaku91 I’m not sure about Microsoft with Xbox. It seems the rumours say yes they have standard next generation hardware etc. But are Xbox really any threat to Sony now, I guess in the USA definitely, but the rest of the world like Europe etc then probably not.
It’s not like Xbox have bounced back this generation at all, if anything it’s slightly worse for them. I mean it’s was 1 million to 300k for the month of July.
Currently Sonys only issues seem to be getting their own act together a bit better big AAA games wise.
@REALAIS Totally agree the cost of items are more expensive the console, games, extra controllers and of course a really good 4K tv. I have recently bought a Sony X95L 65 tv, cost a lot but what an amazing mini led tv.
I said the other day. I employ graduates and apprentices at work for decades. So 16 to 23 year olds.
About 3 years ago roughly most spoke now and again about gaming. Consoles and games etc.

Reasons the PS5 costs more and lack of big AAA Sony Studio games, general slow down maybe y in console gaming, to many cross generation games. It is as simple as that. Not all this crap about consoles not available at the beginning.

Have not bought the game yet, just sitting on the fence right now, thank you for your reply.
Will get Astro Bot and probably Myth after that.
Depends on SW Outlaw reviews as well.

Always get tempted to drop £3k on a Sony A95L 65”. The tv of all TVs.

Does VRR help with frame rate drops and smooth it out?
I have a Sony X95L 65” and it’s a stellar tv with of course VRR and 120hz at 4K.

2025 will not be that stacked as all the games that were originally 2025 will get delayed to 2026.
It’s a yearly cycle now, just add one year to each game year release date.

Me going with Starfield
Re: Don't Worry, Gamescom Opening Night Live Will Feature New Game Announcements

That’s true as Astro is out soon.
Also we don’t have a confirmed 2024 actual release date yet for H Lego as in the date.
I’m thinking November 2024

Re: Ubisoft Suggests More Development Time Required for Future Assassin's Creed Games
I can go with fours years in between big AAA game development times. So that ok Ubi.
Can you have a word with the rest of the big AAA developers and let them now as we seem to be heading towards 5 and 6 years from some of them.

Re: PS5's Lack of Tentpole Exclusives Isn't Hurting Engagement, Says Sony
Being honest I just find something else to play like COD WW2 at the minute for me. Until Astro Bot turns up.
The big but comes if they lack on Sony Studio big AAA campaign games this generation, it would make me think harder before buying a PS6.
I mean buying PS5 was easy after all those great Sony Studio games the PS4 had and the initial 2 years of the PS5 was great.
So think on Sony. Especially if Xbox, big if, get their act together and Switch 2 has those Nintendo big hitters.
Re: PS5's Lack of Tentpole Exclusives Isn't Hurting Engagement, Says Sony
Meant 2022 and 2023.
Re: PS5's Lack of Tentpole Exclusives Isn't Hurting Engagement, Says Sony
Hoping for a better year 2025 for Sony AAA exclusives campaign game wise.
Missing those special amazing games.
Astro Bot will be a great distraction, but gaming this year from all the big 3 is a bit of let down
Compared to 2023 and 2024.
Re: Beware! Scalpers Reselling Astro Bot PS5 Controllers for Ridiculous Prices

Totally agree also if they made games not cross generation and just for current generation two things should happen.
Taking more advantage of current generation console power.
Quicker development time.
This whole generation so far has been total fraud and I’m surprised no one in the USA has not tried to take the console makers to court over it 🤣
