Re: PS Store Sales Charts: Xbox's Sea of Thieves Is Massive on PS5, Helldivers 2 Finally Starts to Slip

OldGamer999

@Ergoshotz
I sort of agree, also some don’t realise on here, like it or not Microsoft will make Xbox massive, maybe not in all areas of console, game pass and games, but with all those studios and some massive ip and trillions of dollars, they are a sleeping giant just waking up again.

I see it in a good way, PS5 gets some games and also it will make both Sony and Nintendo try harder as competition is good.

Re: Xbox Really Wasn't Happy with PlayStation's Call of Duty Marketing Deal

OldGamer999

That is great I still get the game on my series x day one game pass.
One the superior console with the superior control on Xbox that suits me.
Xbox make some more money and make some more games for game pass.
Not sure what all the fuss is about. Well I do.
See the Sony gang hate the thought that Xbox control all those studios and can at anytime pick and chose what games they put on PlayStation and that really annoys them.
Sony after controlling COD for years at Xbox owners loss, missing on the little treats and perks are all upset. What does Xbox do.
We will share everything day one on PlayStation as well.
But let’s remember Sony don’t share their games in this new sharing games world. Now who are the villains.

Re: Reaction: You Said You Were Sick of PS5's Sad Dad Sims, So You Better Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

OldGamer999

It’s great we have Astro and Lego Horizons, absolutely spot on.
It just helps if there was just one big Sony Studio AAA Campaign game to release along side them this fall.
Not nothing at all, because they wasted and mismanaged resources.

Remember we are talking probably over a whole year before we get anything from them.
Remember the trash Xbox got for doing this a couple of years ago.

Re: Xbox Bigwig Confirms Many More Microsoft Games Are Coming to PS5

OldGamer999

@UltimateOtaku91

It’s a shame it is still a mixed message.
I would rather them say all games day one on PS5 and that is that.
It’s like they are stringing out for some reason.

I guess to keep xbox hardware and especially game pass memberships a float.

If you think say for me, I have a series x and PS5.
If they said all games day one PS5.
Then I don’t need my series x, which would lead to not having game pass anymore.

They are being very tight with all this for that reason.

Re: PS5 Fans Beg Sony for a More Fulfilling Livestream in the Aftermath of Xbox Show

OldGamer999

I have all 3 consoles and after that show not to have an Xbox and game pass is almost crazy.
The value is looking great now.
I’m actually looking forward to playing my first COD campaign in over a decade.
Adding third party games I pay for on series x the console will be my main console now.

As for Sony I shall wait until they decided to return with some of their fantastic big AAA campaign games like the Uncharted’s etc. I know one thing I won’t be getting a P55 Pro if it releases this year, no point really until the games start coming.

As for Nintendo it’s a waiting game for Switch 2 and new big AAA games from them.

Re: DOOM: The Dark Ages Rips and Tears Day One on PS5

OldGamer999

It’s cool PS5 getting COD and Doom.
Microsoft gets more money.
Makes more games and I get them cheap on game pass day one.
Also I get the Xbox exclusive ones or exclusive maybe for a year who knows, cheap on game pass as well.
I was struggling with all this and game pass, but after today game pass is looking a lot more value for money. I’m fully paid until May 2025 so that’s good as well.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong's Physical Editions Won't Have Actual Discs at Launch, Just Digital Codes

OldGamer999

@Secryt
I don’t always believe the analysis the casual gamers I know and young gamers all go physical so I’m a bit unsure about this data.

So you know I’m all digital with movies, music and video games. I don’t have a single bit of physical media.
And yes I agree about using less plastics etc.

But I still feel that the gaming companies are taking the piss out of us, especially the prices they charge for digital games on their sites.

A day one release digital £70.
Day one physical if you look for a bargain can be £60.

So how do they justify that paying more for less with no physical media costs. They don’t care about the environment else the digital media would cost less and encourage more to buy digital, they are just greedy and don’t care about the environment really.

Re: Even as a LEGO Game, Horizon Adventures' PS5 Visuals Are Off the Charts

OldGamer999

@Shinnok789
Yep you are totally spot on. Gaming development is taking ages nowadays and the big AAA games could be made a bit smaller.
About 40 hours will all side missions and collectables etc.

Not sure about Sony Studios or Xbox studios they all seem to take ages.
It’s funny how some third party developers are getting it right though and they need to programme for more devices.

I’m sure cost cutting and financing are more involved nowadays.

Re: Poll: Was Summer Game Fest 2024 Great or a Letdown?

OldGamer999

@UltimateOtaku91
There was one big smart move in this show Sony.
Lego Horizons on Switch and Xbox should follow suit with a game similar out of there big name games.
See young switch owners when they get older move onto the big consoles, especially when they start older school.
Now Sony has a major AAA even though it’s Lego and connection to PlayStation on Switch.
That connection creates a future PS5 console sale when that young Switch owner wants a more grown up big flash console.
It’s so dam smart that move with Lego Horizon on Switch.

Re: Many, Many More Major Xbox Games Are Being Plotted for PS5

OldGamer999

I’m definitely keeping my series x for now as well as PS5 and Switch.
All this is up in air and who knows what might come to PS5 and when etc.
But I have game pass and get all this day one on release without all the gossip and rumours and that suits me to know I get the games on day one and in Gamepass.
Must admit the COD was concerning but it’s confirmed now day one on game pass, so that’s good.

Re: Many, Many More Major Xbox Games Are Being Plotted for PS5

OldGamer999

Come on Samsung join the console gaming market.
Get Sony and Xbox off their arses and fire them up a-bit.
The market needs shaking up and some extreme competition from another source.
Samsung did it in the TV market and are number one nowadays.
It would be great fun and wake up the complacency and half a sleep Sony and Xbox.

Re: Many, Many More Major Xbox Games Are Being Plotted for PS5

OldGamer999

@DonkeyFantasy
Lack of Triple A games releases for PS5.
PS5 only games not cross generation.
Price increases.

Don’t get me wrong all business decisions and money making but not really customer focused.

What we need is the South Koreans, Samsung to join the gaming market console wise etc.
mix it up a bit etc.
They showed the tv market how it’s done and are number one now.

Re: Many, Many More Major Xbox Games Are Being Plotted for PS5

OldGamer999

@K1LLEGAL
Gamers are gamers.
Sony gamers on here used to hate Xbox games, but now they might get a few, they seem to like Xbox games.

I really hope Xbox consoles stay for at least another generation, who knows after that.
Sony are a very complacent company, the Walkman and TV business show us this.
So without Xbox consoles they could get worse.
They are already complacent this generation.

Re: Many, Many More Major Xbox Games Are Being Plotted for PS5

OldGamer999

@FuzzieGinge88
Totally agree I think Sony are a bit complacent this generation already.
If you totally take away Xbox console's Sony could get even more complacent.

I have a Sony X95L tv, which is fantastic.
But they got complacent in the TV market and sit about 5th overall nowadays . They used to be the kings.

Re: Many, Many More Major Xbox Games Are Being Plotted for PS5

OldGamer999

This will go on for years now, what games and when etc.
I think it will be a steady release of chosen games.
The big exclusive AAA games I think will release after a period of time onto PS5, which sort of keeps both groups happy.
Xbox consoles game pass etc get them first then PS5 6 to 12 months after.
This way Xbox keep xboxers happy and then make more money later releasing in PS5.
The big AAA by Bethesda or Activision games like COD and DOOM that have always been multi platform will release day one.

Either way Microsoft get extremely more richer.
Beware that giant all gamers. They worry me.

Re: There's a Damn Good Reason to Buy Astro Bot Physically on PS5

OldGamer999

@roe
Not sure of the totally specifics of each provider.
I just read a UK article on it.
Mainly about the Euro finals broadcasting in the UK not being 4K this year only 1080p.
Maybe streaming might be different in the UK.
But it seems a step backwards.
Yes TNT had it in 4K for the championship league final but not on general broadcast like before.

Seems to be related to country and cost of 4K broadcasts.

Well if England win I won’t get it in 4k 🤣

Re: There's a Damn Good Reason to Buy Astro Bot Physically on PS5

OldGamer999

Off subject and I can’t find the 4K thread that was on here the other day.
Looks like the world’s biggest sport football is turning its back on native 4K.
The champions league final was only broadcast in 1080p with HDR, as where before it was broadcast in 4K.
Also the Euros 2024 starting in Germany soon will only be broadcast in 1080p no 4K. As where before we had broadcasting in 4K.
Seems to be a 4K revolt going on.

Re: PS5 Packaging No Longer Mentions 8K, Some Fans Accuse Sony of False Advertising

OldGamer999

Play last us 2 remastered on PS5 fidelity mode that is true native 4K. That does look special and has great detail fidelity.

Most new games don’t this high fidelity and true native 4K.
Again the downside only gets to around 30fps.

My point is this generation isn’t all that powerful
most 4K is upscaled, from around 1440p or 1800p. It’s almost a fraud generation backed by hype and tricks.

Re: It's 'A Truly Exciting Time' for PlayStation as New Sony CEOs Take Control

OldGamer999

@UltimateOtaku91
Loved the first Astro bots game on PS5
It is a Sony Studio game? If I’m wrong then that maybe the only game I get from their studios this year. Which being honest is not great.

I’m not against Sony totally I have just purchased the X95L 65 Sony TV and what a TV.

But I can’t help it if Sony are not producing those amazing AAA campaign games much anymore.

Re: It's 'A Truly Exciting Time' for PlayStation as New Sony CEOs Take Control

OldGamer999

Bring back the late PS3 and PS4 days, so many great Sony Studios AAA games and not cross generation either or remasters.
What have Sony done to Sony. They have dispensed with what made them great and moved onto something they think they can make more money on.
If they are successful then good for them but they won’t be getting my money until I get those big AAA campaign studio games that push the PS5 to wow, turn up.
I will spend my money on third party titles on my series x and game pass and Nintendos big AAA games.

This will be the first year in my entire day one PS1 Sony PlayStation life that I will not spend a single penny on a Sony Studio game, that says a lot.

Re: It's 'A Truly Exciting Time' for PlayStation as New Sony CEOs Take Control

OldGamer999

@UltimateOtaku91
They like all of them 🤣 to some degree.

I just go by what games they have for me and last year 2023 wasn’t great from Sony Studios and this year probably nothing at all 2024.

I’m an old school Sony fan, uncharted, last of us, GOW, GOT, HZD etc. The amazing Sony Studio big AAA campaign games pushing their own consoles to the limit each time.
When they get back to that then I will believe them.
But maybe they won’t, maybe there is a new type of game going forward that they would rather produce, like a multiplayer or gaas. Maybe my old Sony won’t appear again that I have cherished for decades. Maybe I’m old fashioned and outdated for Sony nowadays.

Re: PSVR2's PC Adapter Available on 7th August, Costs $60

OldGamer999

Is that because they cannot be bothered to make games for PS5 for PSVR2.
Or get some port deals with the best VR games that are already out there.
Bit of a let PSVR2 and the PS5 is getting that way with games from Sony Studios as well.

Imagine if sometime soon there is only Sony and Nintendo in the console market.
Never mind chilled and relaxed they will be horizontal and a sleep with zero hardware competition.

Re: Naughty Dog Won't Be 'The Last of Us Studio Forever', Says Neil Druckmann

OldGamer999

I thought it would have been an ND game that lead the PS5 Pro charge.
But definitely can’t see that happening.
Depending on PS5 Pro launch date, which I think will be more in line with GTA6 in 2025 now.

The main reason PS5 is about 5 million behind the PS4 in Europe is cost. PS5 £480, PS4 £280 same time line.
A PS5 Pro would cost even more and money in Europe isn’t really ready this year.
